Another screenshot of bug in 4.1.4 under 64 bit vista

Are you guys sure you're disabling compositing? Like I mentioned above, to see
the bug you must not have any fancy desktop effects enabled (dialogs that fade
in/out, etc...). I believe these effects force the screen to redraw, so you
won't see the bug.

I'm not sure how to turn these effects off under Windows 8, but under all other
versions of Windows, the instructions are above. For Linux, you can disable
the effects under various desktop environment through their settings.

Correct.

What happens if you just open writer? Same?

All is working fine then.

Is this bug still valid / reproducible with the latest pre-release 4.2.0.1:
 http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

I have tested it with with the upstream version 4.1.4.2 first and the bug
doesn't appear there anymore. Either it is fixed or it is related to the ubuntu
version. If there is a new version in the ubuntu repository and the bug appears
again I will report it on Launchpad.

I'm setting this bug back to New, since I can easily reproduce it under
various environments. I just confirmed this bug using another computer running
up-to-date Archbang Linux (Arch linux using Openbox WM).

I can also confirm on yet another machine (Fedora 17, running LO 4201) that
attempting this same behavior (right clicking on row header-delete without
selecting the row first) in the example spreadsheet now causes a CRASH, the
same way it did under Windows Vista.

Of course, that crash under 4.2.0.1 now happens regardless of whether desktop
effects are enabled or not, so I guess it's a new bug.

But it also happens, when you just copy and paste fields to another after a

The issue is confirmed fixed in the daily dev build:
 http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Linux-x86-64@8-SLED11/2013-08-
 30_00.08.45/

Can confirm that, tested using Windows 8.1 with LibreOffice Version:
4.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 5be7ec4193b892e5643ff5f3f2e6755319569190
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2013-12-27_23:55:02

As mentioned, fixed in 4.2.0. Big chance fix will not be backported to
4.1-branch.

So lets mark this one as VERIFIED WORKSFORME (we don't know what commit fixed
this issue).

Kind regards,
Joren

With image files: calc[1-9]

calc1 select a line by clicking the line number.
calc2 Copy it.
calc3 Try to paste it by clicking another line number.
calc4 It does not work. (once upon a time ...)

calc5 Copy the line again.
calc6 Paste into the first cell of a line.
calc7 THAT works.

calc8 Now select a column of first cells and Paste into them.
calc9 You get the Text Import dialog!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73045] image from clipboard cannot be pasted in Writer (URI format is wrong, with forward slash)

2013-12-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73045

I tried this in PC at home, and found that I am able to paste the image.

Further-

1. If I try to check the URI in LibreOffice (by double-clicking on the image,
and in the dialog box that pops up, clicking on the Image tab), I cannot see
any URI at all.
2. I checked the EditLinks menu option, which is grayed out.

That means the image is fully pasted in the document (and not linked from the
temp folder).

*
In comparison, at work, the placeholder shows the URI in wrong format (as
described earlier), and when this format is corrected, the image is LINKED from
the temporary folder (I have to break the link by using the EditLink menu).

*
Both PCs are running on 32-bit Windows 7.
But the home PC has Home premium version, and the work PC has Professional
version.

I used the same installers to install LibreOffice (4.2.0.1 RC1) and GreenShot
(v1.1.7 Build 17) in both PCs.

I restarted both PCs, and the behavior (good/bad) is consistent in both PCs.

--- Comment #2 from Kumāra kumara.bhik...@gmail.com ---
I can now confirm that it's not a bug in LO. The lost is due to
registrymodifications.xcu disappearing, and LO has to generate a new one,
without the old info of course.

I'm suspecting the cause to be a OS-hardware combo fault. (I'm probably
creating a new term here.) Files that are written (or perhaps just loaded into
memory) at the point of power failure are subject to potential corruption or
lost.

The same has happen before to files of other programs. However, some of them
create backups on their own. (One of them makes 5!) Thus recovery is possible
and easy.

So, perhaps I should resubmit another bug, but label it as enhancement:
Automatic backup for registrymodifications.xcu.

I've experienced lost of registrymodifications.xcu due to crash or power
failure, thus lots of user settings are lost. (I'm guessing that it's loaded
into memory all the time LO is loaded.)

The same has happen before to files of other programs. However, some of them
create backups on their own. (One of them makes 5!) Thus recovery is possible
and easy.

So, I'd like to request automatic backup (perhaps versioning is a better
description) for registrymodifications.xcu whenever changes are made to it.
Preferably at least 2 versions. They can be named registrymodifications.xcu.001
and registrymodifications.xcu.002.

I suspect some iteration of UNO component registration screwups, clearly it
doesn't do this for most other people.

Can you move your profile away and see if that helps ? if so, can you tar up
your profile and attach it here ? should be in ~/.config/libreoffice
please start clean with a pkill -9 -f soffice.bin between tests.

Beyond that; if you can start soffice.bin and attach gdb:

 ps ax | grep soffice.bin
 gdb
attach pid of soffice.bin from above
 continue
 ... make it crash ...
 thread apply all backtrace

And paste the output here; that would really help.

 Thanks !

Hi Michael,
I have deleted Libreoffice user profile (ubuntu- .config/libreoffice/4/user).
But no difference, it still crashes

Screenshot of strange dialog box

Problem description:
I have been editing a fairly large document (~11MB) and started inserting image
files of *.svg format created by matplotlib. When it got to the 20th or so
image, it would either crash at the import stage, or shortly after
right-click+Picture... when the dialog looks like the form objects are
duplicated. It doesn't always happen but it is quite frequent.

Steps to reproduce:
1. From the menu bar Insert/Picture/From File...
2. Select image.svg
3. Click Open
4. It is either ok at this stage or the coloured spinning ball appears and
LibreOffice crashes and issues report to Apple.
5. If it has imported the image, I would right-click+Picture to format
6. The dialog appears but the objects on the dialog are duplicated. Eg. the
Name-label appears twice but the duplicate is shifted about 10px lower than
the original. It is like this for all objects on the form. I will attach a
screen shot.
7. When I see the strange dialog box I press cancel in the hope it would
correct itself. But it always crashes.

Current behavior:
Importing/Formatting .svg files always crashes.

Expected behavior:
No crashes.

 Hi Vikram,

 Thanks for reporting.

 (In reply to comment #0)

I am using Libre office for conversion of XLSX to PDF. While opening XLSX
file in libreoffice itself, i am getting some unkwown image component, which
was not existing in original xlsx file.

Do you have a test file that you can attach?

This issue is reproducible on 4.1.4 release, 4.0.1 and 4.2.0.1 as well.

Urgent help is appreciated, to fix this bug, that an unkown image component
comes while opening particular xlsx file.

The get-help page on the LibreOffice website links to this.
   http://www.documentfoundation.org/certification/developers/
there are people/companies that can step in fast if you need that service.

 Regards,
 Cor

Database with three forms. Print the forms into files and have a look at the
tablecontrols.

Open the form Transactions_Currency_black of the attached database.
Print the content which is shown in a *.pdf-file.
The content of the tablecontrol isn't printed except the headers of the
tablecontrol and the content of the check-boxes.

Now open the form Transactins_Currency_negativ_red.
Print it in a file.
The content is shown, beginning with the currencyfield, which shows a negative
value. The values before this where lost.

If you try the same with Transactins_Currency_negativ_red_start, the whole
content will be shown.

The printing of all forms worked in LO 3.3.4. It first fails in LO 3.4.0beta1.
One hint: The printing into a file shows beginning with LO 3.4.0beta1, in the
properties of the file the content of the form as Title.
