Yeah, that LibreOfficeDev_4.2.0.0.alpha0_MacOS_x86-64 directory. No

Yes, wiki needs to be updated, it's just not worth to do it now I

debugrun launches soffice from instdir, so I guess dev-install shouldn't

For the record, it has been clarified meanwhile (and code fixed back

actually i noticed that configure.ac always set PRODUCTNAME to
LibreOffice and changed it to LibreOfficeDev for --enable-dbgutil like
it used to be in instsetoo_native/util/openoffice.lst.in; this changed
not only the README etc. files that were touched in the branch, but also
other pre-existing uses like the above config dir, which i suspect were
wrong.

unless of course there is some consensus that using a different name for
dbgutil builds is silly and should be removed. i don't actually care
either way.

No such change is intentional.
It should produce the same directory structure modulo some missing
files. (or some which should not be there)

It should be the same as PRODUCTNAME, --enable-dbgutil has 'dev' suffix.

Nitpick: dev-install tweaks bootstraprc, so UserInstallation points to
$SYSUSERCONFIG/libreoffice/4, not $SYSUSERCONFIG/libreofficedev/4 as

[ANN] feature/instdir pushed to master

2013-09-09 Thread Michael Stahl

hello, good people,

i've just pushed Matúš' feature/instdir branch to master, which makes
the "instdir" an actually runnable office installation.

"dev-install" is no longer executed as part of a "make check", instead
the subsequent tests run against the "instdir".

this has been tested on Windows and Linux but _not_ on Mac where it will
probably fail horribly; if you don't feel like debugging build problems
you should probably delay pulling for a few days. also, somebody with a
Mac needs to fix it since i can't run "subsequentcheck" remotely.

there will be some further build system cleanup this week, especially
removing the (currently) triplicate storage of link targets (iirc Bjoern
has something in gerrit for that...).

PS: you should be especially afraid since i've seen myself forced to
cargo-cult several, perhaps more than 10, lines of Perl for this
(naturally without understanding what any of it does)
