And anyone who sees this bug is definitely blocked from working with this document, so I'm reverting your change. I think the correct way to block a release (which of course I did not want to do) is to define a blocks relation to the corresponding release tracking bug (as it was e.g. done in bug 34404). If you try the same thing with an ODBC, you should notice the same error. I don't know whether the JDBC connector does the same thing (from my recollection, it does, but I'm not 100% certain about that). So, not a bug in the connector, I think. I was able to create an .sxw with OOo 1.1.4 and convert that one to a .odt using 3.3.3 (what does not crash with that document, but with original .doc). The document seems to contain lots of lots of MATHTYPE 5 formulas, and my vague suspect is that they cause the problem, add that to Summary for now. That new document might ease to find out what causes the crash. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43838] New: FORMATTING EDITING are unpredictable for .PPT
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43838 Bug #: 43838 Summary: FORMATTING EDITING are unpredictable for .PPT Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.4.4 release Platform: x86 (IA32) OS/Version: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: medium Component: Presentation AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: robert.down...@guardian-shield.com LibreOffice 3.4.4 OOO340m1 (Build:402) Formatting of objects, masters, layouts fonts are unpredictable, but almost always incorrect. Masters are almost always corrupted. Masters are unable to be deleted (in case of multiple masters). Guide text (the text that shows examples of text characteristics, placement) is not overwritten from masters. Slide layout for title:dual box renders asynchronous text sizes, does not render identical text characteristics equally between L R boxes. Embedding (copy paste/paste special) of Libre Calc selection causes 100% CPU; hang in application; crash. Drawing objects from original Microsoft PPT rendered incorrectly, or not at all, seemingly at random. libreoffice-dbg (1:3.4.4-0ubuntu1) installed on KDE Platform Version 4.7.2 (4.7.2) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Opened LibO from Desktop Icon. 2. Menu 'File - Open - clicked both sample documents open both documents have been opened 3. double clicked Sprookje in Vrijheid - Gelijkwaardigheid - Verbondenheid + titel-orginal-non-edit 4. del 5. cntrol+end to get to end of text 6. typed 2 lines nonsense words 7. alt+tab to switch to other sample 8. Deleted table of contents using context menu 9. deleted last line of document 10. typed some lines nonsense words until new page appeared 11. Reduced window size for both documents so that they are side by side on the screen 12. switched between the documents and did some further edits. No crash! Thanks for your response. Using LinuxMint 12 desktop version Mate on an iMac 8.1 I opened LibreOffice, 'english txt' and clicked on the square (right top of screen, 2nd symbol from right) and thereby reduced the size of the window. Did the same with 'dutch txt'. I then had the englsih and the dutch txt next to each other and could read the dutch txt and compare that with the english one. I scrolled down one the txts and everything went and the desktop was visible. Relaunching LibreOffice gave me the recovery screen, I clicked on recovery (or start, I can't remember the exact wording) and went through the same procedure of opening the files, reducing in size, doing something to the txt, and voila, everything went and on opening LibreOffice the recovery window appeared. If I do the same in OpenOffice this problem doesn't come up. Otherwise LibreOffice is fine; what I do find annoying is that after clicking on 'open' and you get a window with a list of files, 'right' clicking on a file doesn't let you either delete that file or rename it as you can in OpenOffice. Hope this helps discover why the open windows leave the screen. Diederic I do not understand minimising so they both fit on one screen @dieder...@gmail.com: For a detailed analysis we would need much more precise information. If you still see the problem for 3.4 and want to reopen this bug (for a fix in 3.4.5), please read hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport carefully! Then : - Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is - Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show - Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem (and if possible how to created a sample document from the scratch) - add information -- concerning your PC (video card, ...) -- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language) -- concerning your LibO version and localization (UI language) –- Libo settings that might be related to your problems (video hardware acceleration ...) -- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document –- If you can contribute an OOo Issue that might be useful -- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts May be you can test https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/ for submitting bug reports? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Nor does it work to click the arrow and select Text Document. Short cut CTRL+N works however. Fails only if current document has been saved. If its a new unsaved document there is no problem opening a new document. 2) Also if the saved document is opened in one window it isn't possible to open another saved file (neither from the open file dialog or by clicking on an odt-file. 3) If one unchanged and unsaved document is opened and you then opens another text document then the second document will use the first document window. I'm not sure if this is a problem as it only works this way if the first document is empty and unchanged. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42704] : Writer crashes when opening doc-file created with Polaris Office on a Samsung Galaxy S2.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42704 --- Comment #1 from deltabl...@hotmail.com 2011-12-14 15:21:35 PST --- I can confirm this behaviour. I am using a samsung galaxy S2 and recently updated to 2.3.5 I do not recall having a problem opening polaris office documents prior to the update (on Android 2.3.3) But neither can I confirm that this is a causal factor, because at that time I was also using openoffice to open the files and not libreoffice. So to confirm, I am using a recently installed version of libreoffice and cannot open documents created using polaris office on a samsung galaxy S2 - the writer program displays the splash graphic while attempting to open the document, and then vanishes (silently crashes). If writer is opened and then the file is opened from the file menu, the program vanishes/silently crashes in the same way. documents created with other common word processors are fine. Google docs can open the polaris office documents fine, So i do not believe the document files themselves are corrupted (at least not fatally). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
