--- Comment #3 from grofaty  2012-01-30 01:01:59 PST ---
Hi,
I have done more tests: Jan 2012 and pressing Enter it displays:
1. LibreOffice 3.4.5: 40909 => probably some internal representation of date
2. LibreOffice 3.5.0 RC2: 01.01.12 => it looks like a January 1st 2012 in
DD.MM.YY format
3. Microsoft Office 2007: jan.12 => so proper display of month data.

I have done one more test:
1. Open new file in Microsoft Office.
2. Entered: Jan 2012 in the A1 cell, Feb 2012 in A2 cell etc to Dec 2012.
3. Saved the file into xls file format.
4. Opened file with LibreOffice 3.4.5 and LibreOffice 3.5.0 RC2 and data are
properly displayed like jan.12, feb.12 etc.
5. I have right clicked on A1 cell and selected "Format Cells..." from
drop-down list.
6. On Number tab, Date is selected in Category section. In Format section is
seleced: dec.99. In "Format code" section is displayed: MMM.YY

Now I have looked into original file in both versions to see what is "Format
Cells" defined (Numbers tab):
LibreOffice 3.4.5: Category: Number. Format: -1.234. Format code: #.##0
LibreOffice 3.5.0 RC2: Category: Date. Format: 31.12.99. Format code: DD.MM.YY

What I see it is just a formatting problem. So for Jan 2012 LibreOffice should
recognize correct formatting and applied it (just like Microsoft Office 2007
does): Category: Date. Format: dec.99. Format code: MMM.YY

P.S. Currently I am working in LibreOffice 3.4.5, but when LibreOffice 3.5.0
final will be released I will use it. So it is perfectly fine for me to fix
this bug only in v3.5.x branch and not in v3.4.x.
Thanks

Steps how to reproduce with "LibreOffice 3.5.0 RC2 English UI/Locale [Build-ID:
e371a95-bf68a13-5a1aa2b-d3c1ae9-b938258] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit):

1. open attached "source.ots"
   > file with name 'Untitled1.ods' or similar opens
2. go to Sheet "Lieferschein", click C12 if necessary
3.  for copy
4. Menu 'File -> New -> Spreadsheet'
   > New spreadsheet 'Untitled1.ods' or similar opens
5. In newspreadsheet click Shett3.C12
6.
   Expected: formula "=IF($Tabelle1.C12<> ..."
   Actual: formula   "=IF('Untitled1'#$Tabelle1.C12<> ..."

Copy + Paste has added document name of source document to reference

This prolbem is not reproducible with a very simple new source document and a
formula "=Sheet1.A1" on Sheet3

Works fine in 3.4.5, so REGRESSION

Was ok in Master 2011-07

I had still the same problem with 3.4.4, but I found a workaround by copying
the old Openoffice font file which was still on the system but which is
apparently no more used by LibreOffice :

cd $HOME
ls -lda .fonts
if .fonts does not exist : mkdir .fonts
cd .fonts
cp /usr/share/fonts/truetype/openoffice/opens___.ttf .
check/change the file permissions :
chown  opens___.ttf
chmod 644 opens___.ttf

Restart LibreOffice, the font should be available...

I also installed LibreOffice 3.4.4 on another PC, but no problem on this one!

Reporters comments contain too much text and too few information. Who can know
what settings and templates he uses?

@grofaty
Please discuss your problems in e user mailing list, this is the wrong place. I
recommend to read Help and the CALC manual, your workarounds are absurd.

Please feel free to add a new comment if discussion with others leaded to a
assessment that we have a LibO bug and a clear and comprehensible description
of the problem.

Before you do please read hints on
 carefully.
Then please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing EXACTLY what the problem is
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot)
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
  problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
  into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
  mouse click how to reproduce your problem (and if possible how to created a
  sample document from the scratch)
- add information
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
  -- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
  -- concerning your PC
  -- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
  -- concerning your LibO version and localization (UI language, Locale
setting)
  –- LibO settings that might be related to your problems
  -- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
  –- If you can contribute an OOo Issue that might be useful

--- Comment #7 from grofaty  2012-01-30 04:23:08 UTC ---
1. Open new LibreOffice Calc document
2. In cell A1 type in: Jan 2012
3. Press Enter.

In LibreOffice v3.4.5 in A1 cell is displayed: 40.909
In LibreOffice v3.5.0 RC2 in A1 cell is displayed: 01. 01. 12
In Microsoft Office 2007 in A1 cell is displayed: jan.12
See attached ods file.

If I understand correctly, when numbers (or text) is inserted into cell and
pressed Enter according to inserted numbers/text some pattern is checked and
according to pattern formatting to the cell is applied.

I think LibreOffice Calc does not apply correct formatting if "Jan 2012" is
typed into cell. It is obvious it is month data, but Calc formats it as it
would be a date data.

If right click on A1 and select Format Cells and:
In LibreOffice v3.4.5 is displayed: Format code: #.##0
In LibreOffice v3.5.0 RC2 is displayed: Format code: DD.MM.YY
But correct display format should be: Format code: MMM.YY

Because LibreOffice is unable to automatically correctly set the formatting, I
can do a work-around:
1. Right-click on A1 cell.
2. Select Format Cell.
3. Format code: MMM.YY and press OK button.
4. LibreOffice now displays: jan.12 which is correct display (just like
Microsoft Office 2007).
See attached print-screens.

P.S. I don't have any reference in LibreOffice Calc documentation, I am
referencing Microsoft Office display if the same data is typed in spreadsheet
cell. It is quite logical that if entering month data into cell it should
appear correctly formatted as month and not display date.

Making this an EasyHack with SkillCpp (for Calc, can't say anything about
Writer or others)

In sc/source/filter/html/htmlexp2.cxx ScHTMLExport::WriteImage() change the
filter name "JPG" to "png". Verify that for a sheet all graphics objects
(images, charts, drawing objects, ...) are written as png instead of jpg, and
identical objects share a file (i.e. not several files are generated for
multiple occurrences of the same image).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45392] New: VIEWING

2012-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45392

 Bug #: 45392
   Summary: VIEWING
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.3 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: gust...@cpqd.com.br

  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=56320
Show case of the bug

After upgrading to Windows 7 I lost the ability to open OLE files that I had
previously inserted in a document using Windows XP. The files were inserted
with "Insert > Object > OLE Object > Aditional objects > Package" (the wording
may a little off because I'm actually using the Portuguese interface).

When I open the document in Windows 7 and double-click on the icon of the
inserted object I get a new window called "Create package" asking me to select
a new file.

If I open the same document in Windows XP with the same version of
LibreOffice.org I can open the embedded object.

To correct this I open the document in XP, open the embedded object, and save
it as a separate file. Then I open the document in Windows 7, remove the
embedded object and reinsert it. When the object is inserted in Windows 7 it
can be openned later on without problems.

I'm attaching a document with two objects embedded. If I open it on Windows 7
using LibreOffice.org 3.4.3 I can open the first object which was inserted in
Windows 7 but not the second one, which was inserted in Windows XP.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45392] VIEWING

2012-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45392

--- Comment #1 from Gustavo Chaves  2012-01-30 04:58:03
PST ---
Another info that might be of interest...

I unzipped the bug.odt file on a Linux machine. The two objects are saved as
"Object 4" (bad) and "Object 6" (good). The file command shows that there is a
difference between them:

$ file Object\ ?
Object 4: CDF V2 Document, No summary info
Object 6: CDF V2 Document, Little Endian, Os: Windows, Version 6.1, Code page:
1252, Title: LISTA DE VERIFICA, Author: Administrador, Template: Normal.dotm,
Last Saved By: Marcia Inez de Oliveira Andrade Bozzi, Revision Number: 2, Name
of Creating Application: Microsoft Office Word, Total Editing Time: 01:00, Last
Printed: Thu Mar 29 10:18:00 2007, Create Time/Date: Sun Jan  1 18:42:00 2012,
Last Saved Time/Date: Sun Jan 1 18:42:00 2012, Number of Pages: 10, Number of
Words: 1216, Number of Characters: 6889, Security: 0

It seems that when the object is inserted in Windows 7 the binary
representation is a little different and that Windows 7 can't open files
embedded in previous versions of Windows.

The configuration dialogs of the Lightproof grammar checking extensions (that
come with English, Hungarian, and Russian spelling tools) are not localized,
although they are translated at Pootle.

The context menu suggestions coming from these extensions seem not to be
translatable at all, at least I couldn't find the strings at Pootle.

Tried with Estonian UI on Debian Lenny and Windows XP SP3, both 32-bit.

It just says that "Windows installer has stopped working."

Btw. this is the same as the high rated report
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=70587.

Best workaround at http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=27162:
1) Save a copy of the presentation
2) Rename the Master Slide
3) Copy a slide in from the presentation copy

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43391] [EDITING] [VIEWING] [FILESAVE] [PDFEXPORT] Framed images with caption losts, plus wrong rendering when the page has a background image

2012-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #3 from Opentia Team  2012-01-30 07:48:23

Work around found:

a) Insert the image as normally
b) Add the caption to the image as normally
c) Place the image with the text surrounding it as normally
d) Cut the image
e) Reduce the sice of the framework of the image to the size of the caption
f) Paste the image in the page
g) Resize the image, set the text to surround it, and put it just over the
caption

In this way the printing seems to work fine as in the screen as in the PDF, and
the same features are got: index for image, caption for images, etc.

[Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.5.0 RC2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID:
e371a95-bf68a13-5a1aa2b-d3c1ae9-b938258] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit).

I see CRASH for Filters: UOF text, MS WORD 2003 XML, XHTML WRITER file.

Crash-Recovery dioalog appears when I click "Current document"

CRASH also in CALC, DRAW, IMPRESS

No problem with "LibreOffice 3.4.5 German UI [Build ID: OOO340m1 (Build:502)]"
parallel Server installation on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit),
"LibreOffice Portable 3.3.0  - WIN7  Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO330m19
(Build:6) tag libreoffice-3.3.0.4]"
So REGRESSION.

Very old Master Bug, already visible with Master from July 2011, so it seems
"Major" is enougz.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39220] UI: Printer settings for paper *type* from print dialog ignored

--- Comment #9 from Vincent Van Houtte  2012-01-30 07:55:52

I witnessed the same problem when switching from openoffice (Debian stable) to
libreoffice (debian stable with backports).

I have written a BASIC macro that works perfectly in our office and in the
office where my wife works, with the following code:

[CODE]
DIM oDoc AS Object
oDoc = ThisComponent

REM Set backgroundImage-option in DocumentSettings to False
DIM oSettings AS Object
oSettings = oDoc.createInstance("com.sun.star.text.DocumentSettings")
oSettings.PrintPageBackground = bBg1

REM choose a certain printer
DIM mPrinterOpts(3) AS NEW com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue
mPrinterOpts(0).Name = "Name"
mPrinterOpts(0).Value = "MFC8880DN"
mPrinterOpts(1).Name = "PaperFormat"
mPrinterOpts(1).Value = com.sun.star.view.PaperFormat.A4
mPrinterOpts(2).Name = "PaperOrientation"
mPrinterOpts(2).Value = com.sun.star.view.PaperOrientation.PORTRAIT
oDoc.Printer = mPrinterOpts()

REM set Papertray in Styles
DIM oStyle AS Object
DIM sPageStyle AS String
sPageStyle = oDoc.CurrentController.getViewCursor().PageStyleName
ostyle = oDoc.StyleFamilies.getByName("PageStyles").getByName(sPageStyle)
oStyle.PrinterPaperTray = sTray

REM Set printOptions
DIM mPrintOpts(3) AS NEW com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue
mPrintOpts(0).Name = "CopyCount"
mPrintOpts(0).Value = 1
mPrintOpts(1).Name = "Collate"
mPrintOpts(1).Value = True
mPrintOpts(2).Name = "Pages"
mPrintOpts(2).Value = sPageNr
mPrintOpts(3).Name = "Wait"
mPrintOpts(3).Value = True

REM Print
oDoc.Print(mPrintOpts())
[/CODE]

This worked perfectly with Openoffice.org v3.2.1. When I upgraded to
LibreOffice in backports (first v3.3, now v 3.4.3 OOO340m1 build 302), this
stopped working.

printing complete documents to tray 1 WORKS
printing complete documents to tray 2 WORKS
printing the first page to tray 1 and following pages to tray 2 DOES NOT WORK.

Maybe this is related to the bug at hand, and it might even help solving this
bug (and my problem ;-)) - to that end, I will be crossposting this info to bug

verified that this problem still exists in 3.5.0 RC2.

Note: multi-screen configuration not needed -- this problem can be seen with
Workplace Switcher. Open 1st document in one workspace (producing window#1),
switch to another workspace and open 2nd document that requires a password: a
blank outline window#2 will appear for the 2nd document, but the password entry
dialog will appear in front of window#1 -- i.e., out of view of the current
workspace. If there are multiple documents open in different workspaces, it
can be a challenge to find which one holds the password entry dialog for the
latest attempt to open a document ...

thanks, Norm

I don't get the CommandType::TABLE vs CommandType::QUERY problem, so probably
that's an orthogonal problem.

In the case CommandType::TABLE, we have:

if ( bDoEscapeProcessing )
{
Reference< XNameAccess > xTables( impl_getTables_throw() );
if ( xTables->hasByName(m_aCommand) )
{
}
else

This empty block there is very suspicious. It contained stuff, which was
commented out in

Removes some bogus comments found in Base.

My hunch is that we just have to add that code again. Testing that now.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45306] MSI installer ignores errors

Kendy told me that he did not do anything special, his tinderbox builds the
installer the same way.

However, your workflow is somehow not ideal.

> if the installer is directed to a folder for which the user has no write
> permissions, it will still be installed there but it won't allow the user
> to modify the files

This is true, you create an administrative install image with msiexec /a, by a
side effect it is runnable. Installer runs with administrator privileges.

> and therefore LO can't run as a TRUE parallel install from that folder
> since it can't create the Data folder)

This is false, because Data folder can be anywhere, it is not necessary to have
it under the same folder. Why don't you put your Data folder to somewhere that
your normal user can write, or why don't you create your administrative install
under a user-writable directory?

In my opinion it is not a bug, unless I did not understand your problem
correctly.

The gtk+ guys kindly added this method. We really need it for the gtk3 port.

Checkout vcl/unx/gtk/app/gtksys.cxx (GetDisplayScreenWorkAreaPosSizePixel)

which has a dummy implementation.

This should instead dlopen ourselves, and look for the above symbol and use it
if it is there. Checkout the _get_primary_monitor implementation shortly above
that for a (more complicated) template to work from.

Thanks ! :-)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45364] DLL search order wrong when safe DLL search mode is ON (default)

2012-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45364

--- Comment #4 from Heinz Repp  2012-01-30 08:56:48 PST ---
(In reply to comment #3)
> If I read the web page you pointed to correctly, in all cases the directory
> from which soffice.bin is loaded is searched first, and that is where our
> libeay32.dll is located, isn't it? What am I missing?

Reread the page, and yes, you are right, and I was wrong thinking the cause was
there. So I dug a little deeper and found:

I see this happen with 2 DLLs, libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll. They are not
loaded from the start, but get loaded when the help browser gets called. With
sysinternals' procmon I can see in which directories soffice.bin looks for
them. They are:

\Basis\program\python-core-2.6.1\lib (1)
%windir%\system32 (2)
%windir%\system (3)
%windir% (4)
\URE\bin (5)
and then all PATH entries in order (6)

This is exactly the order listed if SafeDllSearchMode is enabled, where we
expect:

(1) is the directory from which the application loaded
(5) is the current directory

but, looking at soffice.bin's environment through sysinternals' process
explorer, I see still:
the program's path is \program\soffice.bin
its current directory is \program\

The help browser isn't started in its own process but as a thread of
soffice.bin (using CreateThreadEx), so the kernel should honor soffice.bin's
settings, but somehow it picks the python-core/lib directory as application
load dir (because _ssl.pyd loads from there?) and URE\bin as current dir (?).

It looks as if the kernel is not doing what it should according to MS'
definitions, but somehow I feel the culprit might as well be with LibreOffice
tricking some environment settings when loading the help browser?

This is not a bug. We added this behavior to fix several bugs in calc's
copy/paste between different documents.

Calc now creates external references to the old file if the referenced content
is not copied.

The difference between your two formulas is that Sheet1.A1 has a relative sheet
reference while $Sheet1.A1 is an aboslute sheet reference. We correct behvior
for absolut sheet references is to make the references external because with an
aboslute reference you explicitly state that you always want to reference this
content.

I am not sure if it is only in Writer, as writer is all that I have used.

I am running the developer preview version of Windows 8 and installed Libre
only to update some documents created in Word. Writer crashes every time that
I edit a document.

The developer preview install of Windows 8 is available from Microsoft, if you
want to test.

Is it false? And how do you edit the bootstrap.ini to change the Data folder
location?

I *was* creating the administrative install in a user-writable folder. The fact
that it had an error only showed the problem. That is not the issue.

The bug is that the installer doesn't provide an error message in a situation
where it should (and where another installer does). Anyway I can't test this
bug any further so if you want to dismiss it as NOTABUG, it's fine with me.

Hi greg,

Those are available here.
http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

But this issues bug is not yet fixed.

And I doubt if the fix for https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38542
will be in 3.5.0 RC3 already (did not follow the list the last days)

But feel free to test of course. Thanks

i think i've tracked down the second problem now.

while SwDoc thinks it's in web layout mode,
the view actually thinks it's in print layout mode
(as seen by setting a breakpoint in SwPageFrm::SwPageFrm).

the reason for that is that there is some obscure mbLoaded flag
at the SwDoc, and that is not set because we hit a condition
in SwDoc::SetAllUniqueFlyNames() that prevents it.

there is a new check for the flag in SwView::SwView that
connects this flag with the web layout mode/BROWSE_MODE,
whose purpose is completely unclear to me.

this came in with ebc5777548dea42ed966a16c66d879b1485bbfb4,
first commit from CWS swlayoutrefactoring.

For me that is a terrible mess, nothing else. Where is the switch to disable
that feature?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 40961] should set configuration at installation time

I just checked with the 3.5.0rc2 version.

At each invocation of one of the below command :
"libreoffice3.5 --calc"
"libreoffice3.5 --writer"
"libreoffice3.5 --impress"

the /opt/libreoffice3.5/program/soffice shell script is executed.

This script will quite always guess the same environment variables. Moreover,
guessing those values is time consuming.

I think we could cache environment settings into a
/var/lib/libreoffice/basis3.4/program/environment.sh file.

Those environment settings could be calculated again by a package manager
trigger.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 40964] menu entries should lower indirections

2012-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #2 from Jérôme  2012-01-30 13:39:25 PST ---
The new 3.5.0rc2 version decreased the number of indirection. However we could
go further.

Menu entry :
---
j@j-K64:~$ grep -i exec /usr/share/applications/libreoffice3.5-writer.desktop
Exec=libreoffice3.5 --writer %U
j@j-K64:~$
---

The above command line is equivalent to the below pseudo instructions :
---
j@j-K64:~$ which libreoffice3.5
/usr/bin/libreoffice3.5
j@j-K64:~$ file /usr/bin/libreoffice3.5
/usr/bin/libreoffice3.5: symbolic link to `/opt/libreoffice3.5/program/soffice'
j@j-K64:~$ file /opt/libreoffice3.5/program/soffice
/opt/libreoffice3.5/program/soffice: POSIX shell script text executable
j@j-K64:~$ head -1 /opt/libreoffice3.5/program/soffice
#!/bin/sh
j@j-K64:~$ /bin/sh /opt/libreoffice3.5/program/soffice --writer %U
---

I think the /usr/share/applications/libreoffice3.5-writer.desktop file should
provide the below command line instead :
---
Exec=/bin/sh /opt/libreoffice3.5/program/soffice --writer %U
---
