[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45947] New: EDITING: Autoincrement in external HSQLDB could not be created in GUI - wrong SQL-Code

2012-02-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45947

 Bug #: 45947
Summary: EDITING: Autoincrement in external HSQLDB could not be
created in GUI - wrong SQL-Code
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Database
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: rob...@familiegrosskopf.de

When creating autoincrement-values in external HSQLDB you have to add
GENERATED BY DEFAULT AS IDENTITY(START WITH 0) in the advanced features of the
database.
When creating the table with autoincrement the GUI produces the Code CREATE
TABLE table (ID (INTEGER NOT NULL GENERATED )). NOT NULL is the wrong
code
in this command.
In earlier versions of OpenOffice (3.1.1) you could solve the by disabling the
primary key in the GUI. Now disabling the primary key disables also the
autoincrement-value, which normally is OK. But with the wrong code in the GUI
its a problem ...
You could only create a table with autoincrement-value by creating a table with
primarykey and without autoincrement in the GUI and then changing it in SQL
directly with
ALTER TABLE Tabelle ALTER COLUMN ID INT GENERATED BY DEFAULT AS
IDENTITY(START WITH 0)

- With this document the crash is 100% reproducable.
- I do not consider the odt file itself damaged, since it loads fine in OOo3.3.
Rather I believe that LibO3.4 runs into a bug when loading it, so providing the
problematic file seems reasonable to get the bug reproduced by developers.

Dear Julien,

Thank you for your help.

I have downloaded version 3.4.5 and on one level the problem has been resolved.
The program no longer seizes up as soon as I select Find Replace.

But curiously enough I now find that in version 3.4.5 Find or Find Replace
are no longer accessible from the keyboard by use of the Command key and F. I
have
to go and select the relevant command Find or Find and Replace from the Menu
bar. But  I can happily live with that.

Last stable version is 3.4.5 and there'll be 3.5.0 very soon (3.5.0 rc3) has
been released.
You must know that there won't be any 3.3.X version.
Could you try to reproduce with any of these 2 versions ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45950] New: DEC2BIN() and HEX2BIN(): support of more than 10 binary digits

2012-02-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45950

 Bug #: 45950

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release

Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: e...@iol.it

DEC2BIN() and HEX2BIN(): support of more than 10 binary digits, like BASE() do.
While 10 digit are enough for decimal and hex numbers, 10 bit are very few for
a binary number. Consider that as two's complement representation, the range is
restricted to -512 / +511 only.
On the other side, as now BASE() do not support negative numbers, so there is
no solution to represent high negative numbers. Binary numbers should be
supported up to 32 or 64 bit for DEC2BIN() and HEX2BIN(), while BASE() should
support
negative binary numbers.
I saw that OpenDocument Formula require 10 digit, but let implement more than
10 digit (say implementation-defined):

BASE(): support two's complement negative binary numbers, like DEC2BIN and

This is usefull to represent high value negative numbers. As DEC2BIN and

Several questions :
- is the problem on several databases ?
- have you got any backup of the database attached ?
- with which version of Libreoffice did you create this database ?

(en français)
Plusieurs questions :
- Est ce que le problème se produit sur plusieurs fichiers Base ?
- Avez vous au moins 1 sauvegarde du fichier Base que vous avez joint à ce
problème ?
- Avec quelle version de Libreoffice avec vous créé cette base de données ?

Might be related to Bug 44467 - Deleting sheets can shift images or graphics
between next sheets?

@Bob Bevan-Jones:
May I ask you to read hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport
carefully?
Then please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot)
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
mouse click how to reproduce your problem (due to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to created a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
  -- concerning your PC
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO version and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41765] cannot open OLE object when the document is opened in read-only mode

LibreOffice 3.3.4 (upstream build, on Windows) won't let me view the inner
document when I double-click on it. However, I can right click on the OLE
document,
choose Edit and then edit a copy. Same thing for LibreOffice 3.5.0rc3 (upstream
build, on Windows).

I didn't find the workaround (right click, Edit, edit a copy) before. Sorry.

I tested on Seven with LO 3.4.4, it works.

Could you uninstall completely LO with cleaning registry (for example with
ccleaner which is free) + delete (or backup) your profile then install again LO
?

I reproduced the pb on master on pc Debian x86-64.

The stream seems to be broken!

Then I made some tests with zip and unzip, see attached.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45953] New: Incorrectly printing of documents when paper size in LO is not the default of the printer

2012-02-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45953

 Bug #: 45953
Summary: Incorrectly printing of documents when paper size in
LO is not the default of the printer
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: libreoff...@masida.nl

Created attachment 56915
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=56915
LO vs Preview.app on Mac OS X, Preview allows selecting the paper size.

LibreOffice does not allow specifying a different paper size in the Mac OS X
printing dialog. Because of this, when you are printing a document in
LibreOffice
which has not the same paper size as the default paper size of the printer (as
specified in the Mac OS X printer setup), the document will be incorrectly
printed (clipping occurs).

Preview, an application shipped with Mac OS X, allows you to specify the paper
size in the printing dialog. For a comparison between the LibreOffice printing
dialog and the Preview printing dialog see attached screenshot.

That's weird. I tested it again on Ubuntu using an upstream build of

Anyway, since there is a workaround, I believe this bug can be closed or (if

Reporter wants to select some text and convert all fields to normal text. For
details please see the very poor attachment in related AOOo bug. Unfortunately
that document does not show a useful example, but one wher yo do not need the
requested function at all.
I see some advantage of such a function for mail merge fields. I insert Address
data to my letters from Address Data base into mail merge fields Then I 'copy
- Paste special - plain text', wot works well for me, but that will destroy
formatting (one word bold, another red characters, a third one underlined ...

I will check for Duplicates here.

Indeed, the filter box shows the value without format while the filter works on
formatted values.
Confirmed with LO 3.5.0 rc3 and LO 3.5.1rc0+ (Version ID :
848b0b4-8c0b455-f9b8d0b-ad1896d-24eb504)

Kohei: it seems that this one is for you. Please feel free to reassign if you
can't handle this.

Best regards. JBF

(In reply to comment #2)
In both versions, I have this kind of error logs :

So no crash but an error log..

 Exception-Message: UNKNOWN_PROPERTY
 Position:
 Public Identifier:
 System Identifier:
 file:///home/julien/compile-libreoffice/bugs/45041_odt_macro_crash/IO_Liste.ods

Reads as a broken file, that somehow does not crash in the system pf the people
that tried to reproduce...

@Peter: what about 350rc3 for you?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45958] New: CALC: Only Copy Visible Cells doesn't work when only some columns are selected

2012-02-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45958

 Bug #: 45958
Summary: CALC: Only Copy Visible Cells doesn't work when only
some columns are selected
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

ReportedBy: pirrimanson2...@gmail.com

Created attachment 56922
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=56922
CALC example

In the LibO online manual
(http://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Only_Copy_Visible_Cells) says :

Cells were filtered by AutoFilters, standard filters or advanced filters. --
Only the visible cells of the selection are copied, deleted, moved, or
formatted.

This is not completly true, at least when you want to COPY data.

Try this:

1. Open the attachment.
2. Filter the data (for example, by Country).
3. Edit--Select all, then copy, then go to sheet 2 and paste the data. Only
the visible cells are copied (as expected ).

Now, try this:

1. With the data still filtered, select column Name and then hold CTRL and
select column Salary
2. Edit - Copy, and then paste the date in the sheet 2.

As you can see, ALL cells are copied, not only the visible ones. The expected
behavior should be copy the visible cells only (I think).

mouse pointer is still in the header area
- file new textdocument
header separator line is showed

This also happens when I ad random open documents and the mouse pointer happens
to be in the area where a header/footer is (or is possible)

I though that the mouse pointer only would trigger the separator when it was
actively moved.

--- Comment #13 from rige...@hotmail.com 2012-02-12 11:51:44 PST ---
This is also occurring on Windows Vista.

It seems like some of the odd selecting behavior seems related to where the
mouse is located.

If I try to select from the slideshow column on the left by holding down shift
and pressing up or down - then it will think it is selecting - but will not
select if the mouse cursor is residing on top of the list somewhere.

If I remove the mouse cursor so it is not on top of the slide selection column
- I get better selection ability, and am able to copy and paste parts of
slideshows from one document to another.

So there's good news and possibly bad news.

The good news is that in my environment, which is unstable everything (Fedora
Rawhide plus a bunch of GNOME packages built from master) I cannot reproduce
this
problem -- as a crasher, anyway. By which I mean: Accerciser (built from
master) still shows plenty of instances of dead accessibles when following
the steps
in the opening report. And those dead accessibles should not be there. They
are, I'm almost certain, the source of the crashes. Which brings me to:

The bad news, depending upon your perspective, is that I don't believe you have
fixed anything on the LibreOffice side.

I think the reason I am no longer seeing the crash resulting from the dead
accessibles is that there have been a number of changes in AT-SPI2 basically
added
to detect things like this bug and take measures to try not to trigger a crash.

Long way of saying that users who need accessibility support, are not using the
very latest accessibility libraries, but are using LibreOffice 3.5 very well
may still see this crash. :( With this in mind feel free to do what you'd like
with respect to this bug.

File reproducably crashes my LibO3.4.4 when trying to open it.

In case it is relevant: The above test file has following history:
1. Copied 110 pages plain text into new LibO document
2. Created styles and page styles needed for a book layout
3. Inserted footers with page numbers
4. Did hundreds of replacements and formatting corrections in text
5. Inserted images, removed them because it was impossible to achieve the
wanted layout, then inserted full-page frame on page 5 and inserted image into
that.
6. Saved file with LibO3.4
  - This file could not be loaded with LibO3.4.4

7. Opened file in OOo3.3, removed almost all text, removed almost all headings
and inserted Lorem Ipsum instead of normal text.
8. Saved test file with OOo3.3
  - This file can still not be loaded with LibO3.4.4

Note: I have not yet tested the LibO3.5 branch on this file.

Now, this test case should get you going. If there are still questions, let me

tried different content, and I have even tried removing both LibreOffice writer

reinstalling it, and removing LibreOffice altogether and reinstalling that -
unsuccessfully. It continues to crash after at most five seconds, and especially
when I scroll down to a place in the document where a footnote, text area or

This bug is a deal breaker for me. I cannot work in LibreOffice if it continues

Hmm, in LO 3.5 the key TAB goes to the next cell in the table if the cursor is

F12 changes the same paragraph properties as you do. So when you press F12 for
the second time it is not possible to return to the previous values of these
properties as previous values are not stored as properties. Undo may helps you,
but only in the same session and if the first time you pressed F12 is not to
old.

Closing as NotABug. Please feel free to reopen if needed.

Best regards. JBF

The background color you've labelled as pale green sure looks blue to me,
both on the screen and on the page.

I'd really like one that looks pale green. The others that look green are so
dark it's hard to read black printing on them, at least when printed.

File with a page that resists portrait printing.

The option to print in portrait mode is hard to find.

Moreover, after printing the Xanadu page in the attached file, I have to find
it again every time I print, even if I do not quit the program in between. It
seems to me that the program should remember this preference.

I do notice the preference being remembered in a file with a single page.

This file used to display graphics correctly. Now i see broken link and
Graphcs1

I have been using LibreOffice Text and Spreadsheets for over a year.
Never had a problem with Insert-Picture or Insert-OLE spreadsheet.

I tried for the first time to create a LibreOffice Drawing and insert that
using Insert-Object0OLE.

The graphic would not display. Instead I got the broken link icon for
graphics and text saying Graphics1, Graphics2 etc for subsequent images in the
file.

That is to say, not only did the LO drawing doc not link in correctly, but it
destroyed all linking including .jpg, .odt spreadsheets etc.

I did a complete purge of OfficeLibre and reinstall using apt-get and
software-center (ubuntu 11.10). The problem persists.

I cannot create new docs with inserts and all my previous Text docs with
inserts no longer display the images.

MS word school reoprt template

Hi all,
I guess the attached template was made using MS word. There are a number
of boxes that once clicked have an X inserted or removed and this works with
Libre/open office in Mint9 and Mint12. Saving as a MS word .doc and the X's
get lost. Once saved I checked the doc on my work machine with up-to-date MS
software and even the boxes were lost.

LibreOffice 3.4.4
OOO340m1 (Build:402)

I also have a laptop so I'll get the MS WORD installed from work so that
my wife can use the template. I thought that you would be interested. This is
the first time I've had an issue with open/libre office, I use it for
everything, even the French grammar keeps me straight. I guess I should import
the MS
TTF to be 100% compatible as I have had a few minor format issues from time to
time but nothing I could not fix. Regards Ian.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45977] New: Sometimes it is not possible to select cells to enter into formula by mouse click

2012-02-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45977

 Bug #: 45977
Summary: Sometimes it is not possible to select cells to enter
into formula by mouse click
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 RC3
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: andis.lazd...@gmail.com

For instance, when I enter '=if(A1=;A2;A3)', I select specified cells by
mouse click. Sometimes, not from the beginning of formula, but usually
somewhere in
the middle, formula in the Formula bar stops to update, but continues to update
in the tip, which appears beside the edited cell. When I press Enter at the
end, the formula is not completed and ends at that place, where it stopped to
update in the Formula bar. The only way to complete formula is to write it
manually. Sometimes, not sure if always, formula bar continues to update, if I
cut / paste certain formula elements in cell (not in formula bar), for instance,
cut / paste 'A2' from the formula above.

Unfortunately I can't repeat this behaviour with fresh files. It seems that it
happens occasionally and complexity of formulas is not a source of the problem.

OS Ubuntu 11.10, LibreOffice 3.5RC3

NOT reproducible with LibreOffice Portable 3.3.0 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)
German UI [OOO330m19 (Build:6) tag libreoffice-3.3.0.4], please see attached

@reporter:
May I ask you to read hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport
carefully?
Then please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot), sample.odt, sample.doc
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
  -- concerning your PC
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
–- If you can contribute an OOo Issue that might be useful
