I can confirm an inconsistency with "LibreOffice 3.5.2.2 German UI/Locale
[Build-ID: 281b639-6baa1d3-ef66a77-d866f25-f36d45f] on German WIN7 Home Premium
(64bit) and reporter's sample, skips the hidden cells and steps
directly to the next visible cell, walks through all hidden
cells. Bug or feature? Currently I do not know.

Behavior was consistent in 3.3.0, but already inconsistent in 3.4.1RC1 (others
not tested).

This one is a DUP of "Bug 45020 - [EDITING] selecting cells with Shift-Arrow
with filtered rows/columns does not skip hidden rows/column", further
dixcussion please there!

Please don't mark just on your gut feeling.

The regression keyword is a help for developers to make it easier to determine
where the problem might be introduced. If you can name an older LibO version
please add the regression keyword back and name the version.

  Platform: Other

Noel moved the xlsx import code from oox to sc which allows us to use calc core
methods directly and therefore get much better performance.

We should start by moving some of the more important parts to direct calls.

Good starting points are range name import, database range import, cell
value/string import, ...

The source code for xlsx import is now in
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/filter/oox/

It is a good idea to check how the corresponding ods import is done at
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/filter/xml/

Problem description:
There is no option under Format -> Page -> Headers/Footers to unlink the text
in the headers and footers. This is obviously a bug, because such
obvious/simple/easy-to-program functionality has to have been implemented at
some point, and just isn't showing up on my screen.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Type stuff in a header or footer.
2. Watch as it is uselessly copied into other pages.
3. Repeat.

Current behavior:
Tick box for unlinking text in headers and footers is not showing up on the
Format -> Page section.

Expected behavior:
Headers and footers should do what I tell them, not MSWord decided they should
do 7 years ago. That means not repeating my f--king tertiary source references
on every page.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47368] Many crashes when accessibility enabled on MAC

2012-03-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47368

--- Comment #20 from mete.gok...@gmail.com 2012-03-31 15:34:10 PDT ---
I have lion 10.7.3 with LibreOffice 3.5.1.2 .
i found that crash occures on a mac which has first time installed libreoffice
and usage of border properties on a system with accessibility enabled .
probably when accessibility enabled libreoffice cant get and write system
information correctly to “/Users/(**username**)/Library/Application
Support/LibreOffice/3/user/registrymodifications.xcu” file.

If you run libreoffice and use border functions before without accessibility
enabled registrymodifications.xcu file created correctly . after that changing
accessibility enable or disable not crash anymore. Also when accessibility
disabled and enabled first time run with borber properties usage create
different registrymodifications.xcu files with different size. one makes crash
other file not.

for reproduce to crash quit libreoffice,
delete “/Users/(**username**)/Library/Application
Support/LibreOffice/3/user/registrymodifications.xcu” file than enable
accessibility and open libreoffice again and lastly change any border
properties .
do same thing with disable accessibility not crash.

Problem description:
Objects that have been created using "Shapes -> Subtract" function are modified
after loading file with LibO 3.5.1

This regards files created by LobO 3.3.4 and opened by LibO 3.5.1.

Steps to reproduce:
1. create in a new Drawing a big Rectangle.
2. create second smaller Rectangle and place it in the center of the big
Rectangle.
3. now select both Rectangles and chose "Shapes -> Subtract"
4. Save Drawing and quit LibO.

Current behavior:
Open previous saved Drawing and you will see that the smaller Rectangle is not

The version of pdfimport that comes with the free LibreOffice package is not

Maybe as a side effect of ByteString->rtl::OString conversion, rsc resource

2012-03-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.1 Release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: dcr...@yahoo.com

Created attachment 59315
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=59315
Slide deck showing examples of error in new ODS document.

Problem description:

Selecting a range of cells that consists of more than one column (and any
number of rows), then dragging that range results in action only on the column
in the range where the mouse was placed to start the drag.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select a range of cells more than one column wide. This can be done by
direct selection of cells or highlighting by the row numbers.
2. Pick within those cells to perform a drag and drop.

Current behavior:
The graphical indication of the drag (whether using normal, ALT, CTRL, etc.)
will show that it is only acting on the one column.
The result when the drag and drop is executed is just the one column.

Expected behavior:
If selecting full rows, the entire row (all columns) should be moved, copied,
overwrite, etc. (ALT, CTRL, normal, etc.).
If selecting a range of cells including multiple rows and columns, all selected
rows and columns should be acted upon.

Additional Notes:
This appears to be a problem with an ODS file that was originally created in
OpenOffice 3.3. I repeated the test on a new LibreOffice 3.5.1.2 ODS file and
it had a different bug. It works as expected when selecting a range of columns
and rows. However, when whole rows are selected, it only acts on the columns
for which data exists in those rows. If moved (ALT) to a row that has content
in additional columns the content is merged (the insert only happens for the
columns it selects). If the row does not have data in every column starting
from the left, it will pull the object from the right to whatever column within
the row was selected to start the drag/drop.

Platform (if different from the browser):
Windows 7 Ultimate, Service Pack 1, 64-bit.
Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/11.0

The bug can easily be fixed by removing the directory:
  C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\LibreOffice

There should be a way to clean it, especially when uninstalling, or installing
a new version of LibreOffice.

--- Comment #7 from Rainer Bielefeld

The effect is reproducible with reporter's sample documents and with
"LibreOffice 3.5.2.2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID:
281b639-6baa1d3-ef66a77-d866f25-f36d45f] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit),
but I can't tell whether its a bug.

You see the effect in a document with protected sheet, when you
1. Open attached Calc Document "sample.ods'
   > you see some cells with contents,
 B1:B4 will not be protected
already done: Menu 'Tools -> Protect Document -> Sheet ->
2. Toggle Menu 'Viewing -> Values Highlighting'
With highlighting activated all protected cells will show grey background

I never saw that in an other way (since OOo 1.1.4), but I can't see the
advantage of that behavior. Bug or feature, that is the question here.

I closed Waterfox and have been able to work with LiO without it crashing (so
far, which is much farther than previously). So, the culprit might be Waterfox.

The zip contains the odg where the circle is alredy moved (after savin) and 2
pdfs to exactly see what I get BEFORE and AFTER saving

Problem description:
I generated a quite simple Object by combining/melting 2 Objects.
Then I generated a pdf where everything is ok.

BUT after saving + re-opening the odg, the inner position of the cirlce of that
combined curve-object is moved.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the odg
2. Move the inner circle to middle/left (mark all inner points of the circle)
3. Save + re-open, then the inner circle is at the wrong position again

Current behavior:
Inner circle moves after saving

Expected behavior:
Inner circle should not move after saving

the Start Task Manager and "end process." It's been happening for a couple of
days. I generated a soffice.dmp file (attached).

I suppose it could be a configuration problem. I will attach some screenshots
of various configurations. (I'm over my head technically.)

But, when i tried to create sample documents to attach here, which should show
what i was doing, opening the doc 'suddenly' went OK.

Still reporting it, because it crashes too often when trying to open this docx.

(In reply to comment #2)
Sorry I didn't get if we're talking specifically about the same thing or if you
simply add more stuff. I try to clarify my point in case I was misunderstood :p

I set a 3d cube transition effect to all my slides.
Then going forward the cube rotate (naturally) from left to right (clockwise
virtually looking from the upper side).
Going to the previous slide the cube again rotate clockwise, instead the more
naturally counter-clockwise.

So for all the slide transition effects (and not other kind of effects for
animation.. etc) where they have a direction, "simply" support the reverse
going to the previous slide.

> Thanks for interesting idea. Let me add some small ideas to it:
> 1. Usually users want to quick scroll to some of previous slide. Effects in
> this situation will only slow down this search.
Did you mean to disable slide transitions effects going to previous slides?
No bad idea, but I think that would be a feature explicitly addressed for the
"advanced" user.

Anyway I think there are better way to allow the user to quick scroll to some
of previous slides, see http://impressive.sourceforge.net/
(Give it a try if you don't know it... really deserve! and would be great add
those features in libreoffice!)

> 2. Many effects is symmetric, so impossible understand direction.

Setting PSLevel=2 forces PostScript generation which seems to be ok, while PDF
generation is broken. Printing to File shows the same issue.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41524] PRINTING multiple pages printing results in multiple system print jobs

2012-03-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #10 from Paolo Benvenuto 2012-03-31 04:12:31
PDT ---
In my system libreoffice produce multiple print jobs, but if I first create a
pdf and then print the pdf in multiple copies, then one print job is produced.

This makes me think the problem isn't in the printer or in its capacities, but
in something libreoffice doesn't handle while evince does.

This seems to be a feature, not a bug. LibreOffice queries the printer if it is
capable of collating jobs and acts accordingly (read: It is reported to
LibreOffice that the printer can handle collation).

I can't reproduce with "LibreOffice 3.5.2.2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID:
281b639-6baa1d3-ef66a77-d866f25-f36d45f] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit), I
see a progress bar.

But function is not optimum, when I save a very big Writer document, I see 1
minute the "busy" mouse pointer progress bar area empty, and then for the last
2 seconds of saving the progress bar works.

Steps how to reproduce:
1. open attached "x.odt" from WIN file explorer
   > Opens in WRITER
2. Menu 'File -> Save as -> "y.odt"
Expected: progress bar appears and grows continously
   Actual: I see 1 minute without bar, then 2 seconds 0% ... 100%

Works much better for big complex DRAW documents, there the progress bar really
grows during the whole time required for saving.

@Wyndham Clampett
Is that the problem you observe?

I compile the sources retrieved from Git LO repositories.
You can try to install LO from a PPA. (remember to try with a brand new LO
profile).

I've seen, that the display behaviour depends on the used Ubuntu theme. I'm
using the following themes of the Ubuntu package:
- Symbol theme: Ubuntu-mono-light
- GTK+theme: Radiance
- Window theme: Ambiance

I'll wait for the official Ubuntu version 12.04. Hopefully this version

I came across an error reported in another bug, about Lightproof incorrectly
reporting a missing space before an end quotation mark
https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=48112

(This bug report will make more sense if the other one is read first).

I then made the correction in the dialog box, and LO changed the quotation mark
from a "smart" quotation mark to a "plain" quotation mark.

Specifically, I deleted the quotation mark in question, and entered a new one,
at the same time removing the space before the first word.

Here is the sentence:

Harry stared at Draco with tears rolling down his face, still not
understanding. ” Why?” he asked.

LO set the first quotation mark to a plain one (ie not smart), but the second
(closing) quotation mark was untouched.

The screenshot illustrates the (incorrect)result.

LO should have inserted smart punctuation which is used when editing normally
in the document.

Lightproof says - in the Spell and Grammar dialog - "Extra space before the
closing quotation mark?"

- on this paragraph:

Harry stared at Draco with tears rolling down his face, still not
understanding. ” Why?” he asked.

What Lightproof has missed, is that the closing quotation mark it is referring
to, should be an opening quotation mark - and that there is there is also a
missing space before the first word in the quotation.

Perhaps, when it comes across this situation, it could check that the quotation
marks match...
