If you have got one you can start with step (6). (1) Start LibreOffice and open a new text document. (2) Insert some words. (3) Save document. (4) Check Menu: File Properties... Security Open file read-only, then OK. (5) Save and close document. (6) Open read-only document. (7) Display toolbar Formatting (Menu: View Toolbars Formatting). The bar is displayed and all icons of this bar are greyed except Increase Indent and Decrease Indent. (8) Click these buttons. Indenting orders are performed. Expected behaviour here: Icons Increase Indent and Decrease Indent greyed and no indenting possible in open-read-only documents. (9) Close document and open it again. Performed indenting orders have not been saved. A compensation for wrong behaviour? Hint: Step (3) is necessary, hence otherwise the open-read-only mode is not saved in step (5). There are two types of problems. 1. Some Thai character strings like those in cells A2 and A3, including longer strings starting with these strings such as those in B2 and B3, are displayed correctly** within the cell, but they are displayed with strange characters in display areas elsewhere. 2. Some Thai character strings like those in cells T1 – T4 are displayed correctly** within the cell, but they appear with backward tabbing in display areas elsewhere. ** In fact, display within the cell is not fully correct, since it is not left-aligned by default as reported in Bug 48597. We are creating and editing documents with OO 3.2.1 and LO 3.4.4 intermixed without having this problem. Problems start with 3.5.0 and occur also in 3.5.2. So it is either not fixed in 3.5.2 or has existed from at least from 3.2.1 until 3.4.4. Considering the amount of documents created in that period of time, I don't think it is reasonable to say 'it is fixed in 3.5.2'. As far as I'm concerned: I'm maintaining an Octave (www.octave.org) package (http://octave.sourceforge.net/io/index.html) that uses (quoted from Comment 7) the officially documented way to bootstrap LibreOffice by means of the Bootstrap Java class. After LO 3.3.1 the behavior of this Bootstrap Java Class got broken (see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40991); while most of that has already been fixed, the one remaining issue is the splash screen that still shows up while AFAIK it shouldn't (and me and my users don't want it). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48622] New: Line thickness specification - too many choices, nonintuitive
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48622 Bug #: 48622 Summary: Line thickness specification - too many choices, nonintuitive Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: msrame...@gmail.com If a line/frame/cell border thickness is to be specified, a user has too many options: he/she should directly specify numerical value of the thickness. From the usability point of view there are several issues: - It is likely that most users just need only a couple of options (thin, medium, thick - or eventually 5 levels) - If several thicknesses are used, one should remember the values - the value is expressed in the measurement unit, specified in Tools/Options... If one wants a thin (medium, thick) line, which value is appropriate? 0,5mm? 0.01 inch? I do not know - if one opens such file in different LO with different unit settings, he/she gets different numbers - stepping of the numerical field is not fine enough (1mm steps) - we have two different widgets for that - one for graphical objects (lines...) and one for borders of frames and cells. They are not consistent: *If the same value is specified there, the actual thickness of lines and frames is different (try a 0.5pt line and cell border in calc - the daily LO3.6 was used) *Thin line has 0pt, thin border 0.05pt *Increment in line setting is 1(pt), in borders 0.25 So, a mess. I know about a company, which switched to LO - unintuitive setting of border thickness in Calc is the most hated feature among many users there. Perhaps, just simple change in UI of both widgets would improve the situation significantly. 1. Instead of the numeric field alone, give the user a possibility to choose from thin, medium, thick line and add a more button, which would open the numeric field for setting arbitrary dimensions. 2. In Calc, extend the Borders options (which currently offers 3x4 combinations of thin borders) to 5x12 offers of thin, medium, thick, double... lines with all 12 combinations. I believe this is not that much work. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48632] New: FILEOPEN SVG export: wrong black page background added
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48632 Bug #: 48632 Summary: FILEOPEN SVG export: wrong black page background added Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release Platform: Other OS/Version: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Drawing AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de Created attachment 59890 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=59890 Test Kit Steps how to reproduce with LibreOffice 3.5.2.2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID: 281b639-6baa1d3-ef66a77-d866f25-f36d45f] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) 1. Open sourcecreatedwith352.odg from test kit 2. Menu 'File - Export - sourcecreatedwith352exportedfrom352.svg' 3. close document 4. for comparison redo from 1. using LibO 3.4.5, export to sourcecreatedwith352exportedfrom345.svg 5. Close 6. Open both svg documents with Seamonkey Browser (or some similar program except LibO) Both documents look similar, blue rectangle on white background 7. close 8. Redo 6. with LibO 3.5.2 Expected: similar view to 6. Actual: sourcecreatedwith352exportedfrom352.svg shows black background for all page size, background visible in all LibO Versions I tested So it seems here we have a combined problem, LibO 3.5 exports wrongly, but problem only visible with LibO? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48633] New: Calc (mis-)dates for years between 1/Jan/1831-15/Apr/1880
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48633 Bug #: 48633 Summary: Calc (mis-)dates for years between 1/Jan/1831-15/Apr/1880 Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release Platform: x86 (IA32) OS/Version: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: nkout...@otenet.gr Created attachment 59891 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=59891 date ranges that illustrate the 'bug' If you enter any date between 1/Jan/1830-15/Apr/1880 and Libreoffice Calc enters it as -1d. i.e. enter any date in the range 1/Jan/1831-15/Apr/1880 and calc will register the value as -1d from the date entered. E.g. enter 1/1/1880 press enter and the cell will get the value 31/12/1879 To overcome you need to enter dates as +1d. If you want to enter 18/1/1880 (d/m/) you should enter 19/1/1880 (d/m/) As a result it is also ***impossible*** to enter 14/4/1880 See attached for illustration fo the problem.
