I see that sample document on launchpad looks different in MS PPT VIEWER and
LibO, but today I am too lazy to read all that novel to find out what the
problem might be. I'll put this bug into the line.

@reporter:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing. You
can speed up fixing process by contributing a usable bug report.
May be hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem? If you
believe that that is really sophisticated please as for Help on a user mailing
list
Please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) or refer to an existing
  sample document in an other Bug with a link.
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
  problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
  into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
  mouse click how to reproduce your problem (due to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
  -- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
  -- concerning your PC (video card, ...)
  -- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
  -- concerning your LibO version (with Build ID if it's not a public release)
 and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
  –- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
(video hardware acceleration ...)
  -- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
  -- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

Even if you can not provide all demanded information, every little new
information might bring the breakthrough.

May be you can test https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/ for submitting
bug reports?

Please report Bugs with initial status UNCONFIRMED.

Same with LibO 3.4.5 and more or less with LibO 3.3.3; .pptx from 3.3.3 only

Yes, I know. It seems the problem is a little more general, there is a related
issues with print icon in Tango Theme:

a) we have 2 identical icons for Print and Print Direct, pleas see
  task bar in screenshots
b) Print icon in Help UI is different to the icon in Standard Toolbar; I doubt
that that is intended.

So I think we need an additional different print direct icon and we have to
modify Icon in Help Tango UI so that it shows the same icon as in Standard
Toolbar.

The LO (LibreOffice) profile is the directory located in c:\documents and
settings\...(you can take a look here :
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile).

So you should try this :
- uninstall Libreoffice
- delete or backup the LO profile
- clean registry with a free tool (like for example ccleaner)
- install again

I opened the table and saw 2 lines in it.
I've got some problems with 3.5 branch compilation so I can't test for the
moment.

Could you try to reproduce this with a brand new Libreoffice profile (see

Do you have some specific Libreoffice extensions ?

So this is common for modern GUIs. These are the facts you have requested.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49268] New: switchinline tags don't work in Help tooltips

2012-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon

 Bug #: 49268
   Summary: switchinline tags don't work in Help tooltips
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice

  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: mihh...@gmail.com

For example a string like this:
ahelp hid=SC:LISTBOX:RID_SCPAGE_SORT_OPTIONS:LB_SORT_USER Select the
custom sort order that you want to apply. To define a custom sort order, choose
switchinline select=syscaseinline select=MAC%PRODUCTNAME -
Preferences/caseinlinedefaultinlineTools -
Options/defaultinline/switchinline - link
href=text/shared/optionen/01060400.xhp name=%PRODUCTNAME Calc - Sort
Lists%PRODUCTNAME Calc - Sort Lists/link ./ahelp
gets shown in extended help tooltip like this:
Select the custom sort order that you want to apply. To define a custom sort
order, choose LibreOffice - PreferencesTools - Options - LibreOffice Calc -
Sort Lists .
but it is shown as expected in Help window:
Select the custom sort order that you want to apply. To define a custom sort
order, choose Tools - Options - LibreOffice Calc - Sort Lists .

So apparently the switchinline select=syscaseinline
select=MAC%PRODUCTNAME - Preferences/caseinlinedefaultinlineTools -
Options/defaultinline/switchinline part doesn't work in tooltips for some
reason.

Tested with LibO 3.5.3 on Debian Lenny (x86) and 3.5.0 on Windows XP.

Problem description:
I had RTF document created with WordPad in Microsoft Windows 7.
It was opened correctly in LibreOffice, but I did some modifikations and saved
it. After saving, text was corrupted near these letters: č, ė, ū. Opening in MS
WordPad also show corrupted text. So I decided, that this is problem with
saving.
Then I created new document with text Tačiau and saved it; reopened well.
Then I marked all text, in font name field manually entered Calibri , pressed
Enter, saved document again. Reopened document and see corrupted text: before
some letters (e.g., ė, č, ū) new lines added; after these letters – missing
some letters.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Write text with letter č (for example, Tačiau)
2. Save document as RTF
3. Reopen document
4. Force to change font to not installed font Calibri
5. Save document again
6. Reopen document

demonstration of the bug

Hi everyone,

in my opinion, I've found a bug concerning the table cell padding in
LibreOffice Writer.

Let's say you have a table like this one :

+++
++ B1 +
+ A1 ++
++ B2 +
+++
++ B3 +
+++
+ A2 + B4 +
+++
++ B5 +
+++

Cells of column A have a padding of 0.1 cm on all sides, cells of column B only
have a 0.1 cm padding on the left and right side, but not on top or bottom (0.0
cm). Normally, text in column B should be closer to the top and bottom border,
but it isn't. Unfortunately, you don't see no difference whether the top and
bottom padding is 0.0 cm or 0.1 cm. If you change in column B the value to 0.2
cm, the padding becomes visibly broader, even at column A.

It seems that LibreOffice Writer doesn't respect the cell-specific padding, at
least for the top and bottom padding.

Julius

--- Comment #8 from misc2...@danielnaber.de 2012-04-29 04:52:20 PDT ---
For reference, here's the comment from unolingu.cxx I was talking about above:

// for the time being (developer builds until OOo 3.0)
// we should always check for everything available
// otherwise we may miss a new installed extension dicitonary
// just because e.g. the spellchecker is not asked what
// languages it does support currently...
// Since the check is on-demand occuring and executed once it should
// not be too troublesome.
// In OOo 3.0 we will not need the respective code anymore at all.
//  aAny = nCurrentDataFilesChangedCheckValue;
aAny = (sal_Int32) -1;// keep the value set to 'need to check'

Further testing unfortunately reveals that it applies to current builds, too
(despite saying builds until OOo 3.0). So if you use aAny =
nCurrentDataFilesChangedCheckValue, newly installed dictionary extentions will
not be recognized until you restart LO. By not recognized I mean that the
checkmarks do not appear on the language in the language drop down.

Another potential solution for the original problem might be in lngsvcmgr.cxx,
LngSvcMgr::getAvailableServices(). It says:

// don't used cached data here (force re-evaluation in order to have
downloaded dictionaries
// already found without the need to restart the office
delete pAvailGrammarSvcs;  pAvailGrammarSvcs = 0;

Commenting out that line makes SvxLinguConfigUpdate::UpdateAll() quite fast so
the original problem is gone. Grammar checkers need a restart of LO anyway, so
I think the cache could be used here.

Trying to debug this issue, I also found you can solve it by just commenting
out (*pLayIter)-GetCurrShell()-LayoutIdle(); in doclay.cxx in the if
(pTmpRoot-IsNeedGrammarCheck()) block. That code was committed on 2010-06-13.
As I'm just debugging and I don't know much about LO internals I have no idea
what the side effects of removing that code might be, but everything worked
fine for me at a first glance.

I am trying to import a PDF file into Draw, from the open menu I select the
file, the generic LibreOffice window opens and the green import progress bar
appers at the bottom. After this bar compleates it disapeers however the
window does nothing. It blocks my ability to even see other open documents and
after about 10 minets of slowly using more ram and a lot of processing power
(25% of a core i3 and crashes at about 310mb of ram, ideal with 10 documents
open is 0% with 136mb) The entire suite crashes without warning.

After further investigation I believe the issue is that libreOffice is trying
to create too many pages. I opened another PDF (only 244kb) and that created
over 850 pages, the original document is over 13mb and so would theoretically
be about 48000 pages

The patch for localedata/data/zh_TW.xml

There are some small problems with the date format for Chinese (Taiwan) now, so
I edit it to fit local use more.

Changes:
1. Date format of Chinese (Taiwan) use four-digit instead of two-digit YY.
Most of the YY are changed to .
2. Added R.O.C.EE-MM-DD format to meet CNS standard.
3. Added /, - and . as date separaters to fit common use in Taiwan.
4. Added (NN) for short type of .

The original file comes from

Tabulators in ODP and PPT

Hi

I've made a presentation in LibreOffice Impress, which contains a lot of
tabulators. When I finished my presentation I exported it to PPT, because the
computer, where I had to do my presentation, only has Microsoft Office 2010
installed.

I got a little shock as I opened my presentation in PowerPoint. Almost all
tabulators were displaced. Therefore, the formatting was messed up.

See attachment for example files.

There seems to be no option to embed ttf and open type fonts into a document.
This is standard in all versions of word and WP documents. This is important to
exchange documents with different users.

After installing LO 3.5.2.2 from the FreeBSD ports tree, I find (1) that LO
does not detect or provide a default printer and (2) that attempting to
add/configure printers via spadmin results in an error report saying that
printers cannot be added because the filesystem is read-only. Note that there
is NO indication of what filesystem is involved. This behavior is a complete
departure from previous versions of LO, in which I could configure printers
with absurd ease. If this is the result of a change to REQUIRING cups, then I
suggest this is a major error on the part of the project and needs to be
rectified - cups if fine in its place, but it's not necessary or desirable in
many circumstances. Short story: I want LO to perform as it did previously
and for it to use the lpd/lpr system already installed and in use by all other
applications on my system.

When I first try to open a report, I sometimes see a window (maybe reporting an
error?) flash up on the screen for a few milliseconds.

Might be remaining problem after fix for
Bug 36982 - [FILEOPEN] Writer ignores text after Equation in docx or related
ones (these FILEOPEN docx formula bugs are really confusing).
Bug 32636 - MSO2007 formulas not imported in docx.

@Lubos:
Is that the area where you were busy for fixing Bug 32636?
