Th longer I think about that the more Isee 2 eparate parts within this bug:

As reporter said 3.5.6.2 recognized
28.8 13:30 → 28.08.12 13:00
That is the input of an invalid unusual date, in future our Date acceptance
Patterns enhancement should be enhanced to a Date/Time acceptance Patterns
feature to handle such desires

28.8. 13:30 → 28.08.12 13:00
I think 28.8. 13:30 is a usual valid input for German locale setting and
should be recognized without any additional settings

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54343] New: Libreoffice 3.6 Calc crashes copy paste whole sheet

2012-09-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54343

 Bug #: 54343
Summary: Libreoffice 3.6 Calc crashes copy paste whole sheet
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.1.2 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: andis.lazd...@gmail.com

Created attachment 66431
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=66431
Test file to demonstrate crash

Libreoffice 3.6 Calc crashes when select whole sheet (probably with merged
cells) copy it to clipboard and then paste to another sheet in the same file
(also with merged cells). No crashes, if the same sheet is pasted to another
empty files. Librefoffice Calc crashes also if some parts of the file are copy
pasted to another sheet.

Sample file follows in attachment. Select content in the sheet jan by pushing
button in left upper corner of the sheet, press copy, then move to sheet
feb, place cursor in cell A1, press paste. Libeoffice crashes.

It is interesting that, if I paste the same sheet to empty file and then to the
next sheet in the same file like described in example, Calc do not crash, so it
is not constant behaviour.

--- Comment #2 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de 2012-09-01 07:56:00 UTC ---
@ Adam:

From the crash report, it is clear that this crash is related to Mac OS
accessibility features. Therefore to avoid this kind of crash in the future, it
will probably help you to check the following possibilities:

1) Do you have any accesibility features enabled? Apple’s accessibility
features like VoiceOver or Enable access for assistive devices, which get
enabled in System Preferences Universal Access (in German:
Bedienungshilfen; dont’t know about other languages), are known to cause many
crashes in LibreOffice (see bug 47368). So please try to disable any
accesibility features, i.e. uncheck VoiceOver, Enable access for assistive
devices, etc.

2) Do you have installed any window management/user interface utilities/apps
for MacOS X like
* Moom   (see bug 42014)
* Cinch  (see bug 51791)
* RightZoom  (see bug 51686)
* ShiftIt(see bug 52147)
* BetterSnapTool (see bug 53240)?
All these and many similar utilities rely heavily on accessibility issues and
therefore cause LibreOffice to crash. So please check if you have installed any
utility of this kind and try to disable it (or to add LibreOffice to the list
of excluded applications for the utility, if there is such a thing).

Disabling both all of Apple’s accessibility features and all
accessibility-related/window management utilities, and then re-starting your
Mac should fix the LibreOffice crash. Please try this.

If you have further questions, you can mail me (b...@eikota.de).

@Alex
Yes, its only irritating, that there is a field for mouse-wheel-scrolling.
There are many other things that are more important.
When we will eliminate such irritating fields the user would understand the
report-builder a little bit better.
@Jochen
High and Major - I would use this, when there is a function which is a most
used function in the report-builder and which wouldn't work any more. For this
little bug we must only find somebody, to whom we could assign it. Only one
field must be deleted in the properties of the fields of the report-builder.

Let's change this to Medium and Normal.

The form-wizard works right with the defined relationships of the database.

The dialog works wrong (or didn't have a look) at the relationsships. When I

I have a better proposal: to remove Java from LO completely. That festering
unmaintainable security hole has no place on user machines.

well, I agree to remove java, but there is a lot of code to be converted, it
won't happen soon (if at all). try searching for java in bugzilla, it seems
no easy to remove it (mainly because of base and hsqldb).
so the private jre can help fixing many problems in a short time.

2012-09-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #10 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk 2012-09-01 09:05:48

(In reply to comment #8)

doesn't it). The MAIN problem is that it looks NOBODY is using LibreOffice
 Base
to access DB2 database, so there is nobody to confirm if the bug really
 exists.
And because nobody is using Base to access DB2, nobody really cares if it
 works
or not, because it effects only single person (me), so it is insignificant
 bug.
Also to reproduce this bug someone should take the road to download, install
and configure DB2 system, and to do this, someone needs to have DB2 knowledge.
So too much effort to confirm a bug that only effects single person.

That is probably true to a certain extent. However, you could help us further
by enabling trace logging in your ODBC driver options, and providing that trace
log here in the bug issue. So, for the time being, please leave the NEEDINFO
status. That would at least enable us to see what might be happening with the
calls to the server.

In your title, you mention a remote connection. This would imply that your
DB2 server and clients (WinXP? Vista? 7?) are not on the same physical machines
(unless they're virtualised).

Please provide us with these details.

Alex

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54344] New: TABLE: Date Number Formatting ISO 8601 with wrong number recognition result, Day becomes Year, Day always 1

2012-09-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54344

 Bug #: 54344
Summary: TABLE: Date Number Formatting ISO 8601 with wrong
number recognition result, Day becomes Year, Day
always 1
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.0.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de
CC: er...@redhat.com

Steps how to reproducible with LibreOffice 3.6.1.2 German UI/Locale
[Build-ID: e29a214] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

0. Launch LibO
1. New Writer Document From LibO start Center
2. Menu 'Tools - Options - Writer - Table - Input: All Number
   recognition checked'
3. 'Tools - Options - Language settings - Language - Locale=German'
4. Draw Table 3x3
5. For A1 select Number Format TT.MM. (=German for DD.MM.)
6. Type 31.12. into A1
   Result as expected 31.12.2012
7. For A2 select Number Format -MM-TT (=German for -MM-DD)
8. Type 31.12. into A2
   Bug: 1931-12-01

This problem persists in Master and will not be healed with new date acceptance
pattern, as you can see in Attachment 66432 for Bug 52240, what also shows the
bug.

Modifying A1 to Numbr format -MM-TT after input keeps correct date, so this
problem is recognition related.

I will check appearance version of this bug later

@Eike:
Although I think that this one is completely independent to date acceptance
pattern, but I think you should know about this bug, because date recognition
is affected.

Very old problem, before the start of LibreOffice. The Writer's graphic layer
is not the same as the graphic layer of Draw.

Workaround : start to drawing connectors in Draw then copypaste in your text
document. Now you can modify the connectors in Writer even if the connectors
tool is not available in the drawing toolbar.

AFAIK, a long term project is to unify the graphic layers of Writer and Draw.
Set as enhancement.

Created attachment 66437
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=66437
Sample file

Libreoffice 3.5.5 Calc WEEKDAY() function applies wrong number of day in
Conditional formatting applications. Sample file follows in attachment.
When I try to set certain formatting to Sundays and Saturdays, like in column A
in sample file (formula to apply different style is
OR(WEEKDAY(A1)=6;WEEKDAY(A1)=7)). If default Date format (12/30/1899) is
selected, special formatting is applied to Fridays and Saturdays, if Date
format 01/01/1904 is selected, special format is applied to Saturdays and
Sundays like predicted, if Date format 01/01/1900 (StarCalc 1.0) is selected,
special formatting is applied to Wednesdays and Trursdays. Value of WEEKDAY()
in column C at the same time is not changing with no respect to selected Date
format.

I don't know when this problem appeared, but I used this application for
several years without any problems since I found it by accident.

With a Catalan Windows XP (Spanish+ Catalan Language pack) and LibO 3.6 keys
are showed in Spanish.

As far as I know, LibO takes the key nams from OS keyboard. So, when the Lib UI
language and keyboard language don't match, there is a weird effect.

There are languages without an own keybaord, because keyboard layouts are
usually country issue, not language issue.

I think the best approach is to localize key names at LibO side, just like
other big projects do it (Mozilla Firefox for instance). So, it will be allowed
to localize key names to LibO UI language.

Because of the traces of Mac Accessibility-related problems in the stack trace
(cf. comment #4) and of the first answer of the original reporter (comment
#5), I mark this report as a duplicate of the main report for
accessibility-related crashes, bug 47368.

Feel free to re-open this bug report if you can reproduce *exactly* the same
issue (see comment #0) without any accesibility features enabled and without
any special accessibility-related extensions/utilities (cf. comment #4). But
even then it may be even better to file a new bug report, because the crash
desribed in the present bug report was clearly related to accesibility.

Add bug 50284 - FILEOPEN .doc/.docx (MSO2007) Bullet lists show wrong bullet
symbols MacOS X.

Rationale:
This is a follow-up of the long-standing bug 34814, which was finally fixed in
LibO 3.5.4. Since this fix, bullet lists are imported correctly from .doc/.docx
files in LibO on Windows and Linux -- but still not on Mac OS X. For this
special case (bullet lists still wrong on Mac OS X), the special bug 50284 was
filed. Now bug 34814 was a MAB; therefore, bug 50284, which is about the same
problem, just limited now to a single platform, must be a MAB, too.

Additionally, cf. the user comments in bug 50284, e.g. comment 18 and 30.

I think there is no problem with conditional formatting here.

OR(WEEKDAY(A1)=6;WEEKDAY(A1)=7) returns TRUE for Friday and Saturday with
type=1 (or missing) in WEEKDAY(date;type).

Changing date origine in options modifies formatting accordingly .
But columns B (TEXT function) and C (WEEKDAY function) need hard calculation

 (In reply to comment #30)
to keep the right focus for the development team!
Let’s pray that this really happens ... ;-)

My previous comment was a bit loose; in order to prevent misunderstandings,
some clarification may be necessary: I did neither want to say that our
developers have lost the right focus (they are really doing a great job, fixing
bug after bug, and adding valuable features -- they just can't do everything at
once, because there are just too many problems to fix them at once, which is
not a wonder, given the complexity of an office suite), nor did I want to
insult someone’s religious feelings (I know that some people are very sensitive
about this area); I just wanted to suggest that a nomination as MAB alone does
not guarantee that this bug will be fixed soon -- as I said above, there are
just too many problems to fix them at once.

the theme is IMHO relativ relatively complex (OS, OS Languge, document
language, LibO Version, formatting etc.). Misunderstandings are preprogrammed.
Does it make sense to discuss per PM or ML (e.g. de-discuss-ML)?

I don't know if we should consider this as a bug ?

Of course, it is developers' decision; however, I'm sure that formulas should
return the same result at any type of usage - in cells entered directly or in
conditional formatting formula box. For me it took some 30 minutes to find
solution, for computer experts it will take may be 10 minutes, newbie will
decide that this function is not working any more and will drop it considering
that Libreoffice is loosing functionality.

Task Manager

Open Windows Explorer (all other programs are closed). Double click on any file
that should open with LibreOffice. Result: multiple instances of soffice.exe or
scalc.exe or whatever module is called.

But when the file is loaded through LibreOffice (File/Open), it works fine.
This happens every time, and has done so since I started using LibreOffice, and
does the same on my wife's Windows laptop.

Attached (and following) are screenshots of Task Manager and System Info.

Your case should not be used with conditional formats. You should seriously
look into the Validation feature which is there to track that all values are in
the right range.

Formats and conditional formatss are not the same and will never be handled the
same for users and/or developers. I'm sorry but your request might look good
for you however looking for long term consistency and handling we should not
start mixing these two concepts.

The following help page describes how to create language dependent dialogs with
LibreOffice Dialog Editor:
http://help.libreoffice.org/Basic/Translation_of_Controls_in_the_Dialog_Editor
It works in LibreOffice 3.3.4.1 but it does not work in 3.5.3 and later
versions (it probably went wrong earlier, I did not test).

I can add controls to dialogs, but I cannot enter localized labels. When I
change the label in a language, it changes for all languages.

Unfortunately this issue is not bibisectable because it looks like even the
oldest version of libreoffice in the bibisect repository
(source-hash-d6cde02dbce8c28c6af836e2dc1120f8a6ef9932) has this issue.

For future reference, you can always download a VM instance for bibisect on the

Connector's position before and after zoom change

Connector lines copied from Draw lose their position when document is zooming.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In Draw create any connector line. Copy it to clipboard.
2. In Writer draw two figures, e.g. two rectangles.
3. Paste connector to Writer and adjust its start and end points to connect
rectangles.
4. Try to zoom in or zoom out the document. The connector moves to the left or
to the right. Any movement of rectangles cause the connector's jump back to the
right position.

Workaround : start to drawing connectors in Draw then copypaste in your text
document. Now you can modify the connectors in Writer even if the connectors
tool is not available in the drawing toolbar.

Thank you, but it is not usable now because of the strange connectors behavior
on document zoom. I have added the new bug ( bug 54355 ).

REPRODUCIBLE with
* LibreOffice 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214)
* LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 4deb9d4; Pull time: 2012-08-31 04:36:39;

  Dev_3.7.0.0.alpha0_MacOS_x86_install_en-US.dmg)
on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel).

If I select two or more files which should open with LibreOffice (e.g., .odt or
.rtf or .xls files) in the Finder and press Command + O or drag both/all files
on the LibreOffice application icon, LibreOffice does not open the files (as
expected), but shows an alert which says path of 1st documentpath of 2nd
document does not exist..

If this alert does make any sense, it seems to indicate that LibreOffice
confuses both/all files and handles them just as one file, concatenating
both/all file paths to one long (and non-existing) file path.

I will attach a screenshot of this alert.

This bug does NOT exist in LibreOffice 3.5.6.2 (Build-ID:
e0fbe70-dcba98b-297ab39-994e618-0f858f0); if I do exactly the same with
LibreOffice 3.5.x, the application opens both files, just as expected.
Therefore a regression.

Some earlier comments mentioned that Conditional Formatting might be to blame.
but it doesn't appear to be. I removed all conditional formatting from every
sheet with Formatting/Conditional Formatting/Manage and row inserts on
unmodified 3.6 still caused the crash.

How much slower is the daily build than a release build? On 3.5 it takes 2
seconds CPU seconds (times from ps) to insert a row, 4 CPU second to undo the
insert. With the daily build of 3.6 it takes 75 CPU seconds to insert the row,
85 CPU seconds to undo the insert.

@Robert,
I want to reproduce the bug but I´m not able to do this. Please list the single
first steps concerning import dBase-tables into Base.

In comment 2 you write When I open the table. What and how do you open?
Please list the file.

In your description you write This must be corrected and I have to change
this. Are this two points/example the bugs?

In your description shows the first picture the settings of the dBase-file.
Right?
Is there any doubt that the shown data (e.g. SPECIES_NR,N,0 or SYNONYM,L)
can be wrong or a fake?
I´m asking because I will test without availability of dBase and set status to
NEW if I can reproduce the steps and the behavior. I must trust that the
information concerning dBase are right.

PS: another person (with dBase) obviously do not have time or inclination to
test.

Hi Jorge,
how does it look: can you reproduce the behavior with a new Base-file still?
Can it be that the problem exists only with your old Base-file?

 Bug #: 54358
Summary: FORMATTING: Font should size to the size of
surrounding text and it doesnt, it always defaults to
12pt
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.5.2 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Formula Editor
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: dhag...@cox.net

Problem description:
If the code for a formula is entered into a text document, and then the formula
editor command is issued to convert the code to a formula, the formula base
font size should match the size of the original text. Instead, it defaults to
base font size of 12pt.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Enter formula code into a text document (e.g. 3 + 5 cdot X)
2. Select the formula coding
3. Click on the formula editor icon if it is on your toolbar

Current behavior:
The preceeding steps results in the code turning into a formula with a base
font size of 12pt.
Expected behavior:
The constructed formula should be created with a base font size that matches
the size of the original formula code text.

Platform (if different from the browser):
Windows Vista

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0
