As I can understand, if we in dialog Format->Page on tab "Page" changing "Page layout" field to Mirrored, then on most tabs of this dialog settings are tacking in account that now instead of left and right margin exist inner and outer. But tabs "Borders" and "Background" do not so. They remain using left and right margin instead of inner and outer. IMHO it is Enhancement request. And I do not know if it is possible to save such information into Oasis ODF format. Possible Workaround: enable Header or Footer, disable there option "The same content on left/right", draw border as simple rectange and anchor this rectangle to Header or Footer. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Scaled wrong by LibO Draw 3.5.2 when exported as EPS. > > When you export to EPS, you get to change EPS options. Did you make sure you > are using the correct values? I probably set the EPS options for the highest resolution. I'm sure I used the same settings when exporting from LibreOffice as I did from Open Office. LO screwed things up, OO did not. One problem was that LO caused the text "990c" to have the characters overlapping each other. The characters were not overlapping in the OO version. The OO version was correct. I had done some scaling of the spacing of the text. LO caused each character to be larger than it should be, and overlapping. So it was a combination of the entire image being larger than it should be, and the "990c" text characters overlapping each other. The Outline feature arbitrarily changes spacing, so that the first level will begin spacing the text several tab stops in from the numeral. Also the numeral itself is apt to be indented without being set to do so. The spacing after the numeral cannot be fixed in the document. The indented numeral may be by moving the guidelines or by using the shift buttons on the toolbar, but neither is a guarantee. 2. Hitting Return at the end of a paragraph is apt to remove all formatting (font, line spacing etc.) from that paragraph. 3. Text pasted-in is apt to override the guidelines, losing text off the left side of the page. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

LO: Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214) Minor: Doesn't prevent high quality work but makes it so user has to avoid using certain feature (coloring headers differently header/footer). None the less acknowledged that it's annoying and don't misunderstand the priority. This doesn't mean that we won't look at the bug, all it means is that when compared to more serious bugs (crashing, RAM drains, etc...) this bug isn't that serious. Developers take multiple things into consideration when choosing which bugs to address, priority is only one of those :) Thanks for reporting. Just to clarify steps: open or create a 2 page long document and assign a color to header; Go to format -> Page -> Header; unset the "Same content left/right" option; Click on More... button; change the header background color; the color is changed on odd pages only (in this case, only page 1, but if you have more than two pages it will be all odd pages). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49500] FORMATTING: Applying style modification works only once
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49500 Joel Madero changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Severity|normal |minor CC||jmadero@gmail.com Ever Confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #1 from Joel Madero 2012-09-16 23:22:32 UTC --- I can confirm this but with a slight modification. LO: Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214) For me it works 100% of the time the first time but subsequent changes aren't always done - it's about a 50/50. When I do a change the 2nd time, it usually doesn't work, but then if I do a 3rd change on top of the 2nd change (without closing the dialog) it seems to work all the time (or close to all of the time). This is a pain and quite annoying. Confirming, prioritizing: Minor: Makes it substantially harder to make professional quality work but not impossible, also work around is to close dialog and then apply a new one. Medium: Probably not affecting that many people as you have to be changing styles (already rare) and be doing it in a particular way (multiple times without closing dialog). But leaving at Medium instead of lower because it doesn't reflect well on LO to have this bug where things aren't consistent. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I format my table heading cells with a coloured background, but this has to be done manually. If I edit the Table Heading paragraph style so that the background is a different colour, it doesn't change the cell's colour, only the paragraph, so the colour doesn't fill the whole cell. Obviously not automatically since then you'll have both lines trying to jump each other which will look silly but as a property of a line where you set that it should jump or not + the type of jump (round bridge, square bridge, line interrupt, etc.) The attachment that I've added shows what I mean exactly with a line jump/hop (just so where on the same page). Steps used for testing: 1) Rename User Profile folder (~/Library/Application Support/LOdev/) to preclude any influence of local settings on the test results. 2) Start LibreOffice. 3) Open/create new spreadsheet. 4) Type a few values into some cells in the same column; I used Alpha Beta Gamma Delta Epsilon in column A, cell A1 to A5. 5) Select “Data > Filter > AutoFilter” from the Menu. 6) Select a value to filter on. --> LibreOffice/LOdev crashes with the crash log attached. Using these steps, the crash is REPRODUCIBLE with * LibreOffice 3.6 daily (3.6.2.0+), Build ID: cfbfa26, Pull time: 2012-09-07 10:35:10, German langpack installed * LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+, Build ID: 5ca197c, Pull time: 2012-09-06 07:07:33, US English langpack installed The same crash is also STILL REPRODUCIBLE with the first builds that include Tor Lillqvist’s and Michael Meek’s two patches for bug 47368: * LibreOffice 3.6 daily (3.6.2.0+), Build ID: c303961, Pull time: 2012-09-11 08:49:57, German langpack installed * LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+, Build ID: 2df0884, Pull time: 2012-09-11 01:28:39, US English langpack installed This means that this bug was NOT fixed by these two patches, and this in turn means that this bug is NOT a duplicate of bug 47368, which was fixed by the two patches. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54464] Conditional formatting is lost when the file is saved
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54464 Roman Eisele changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|RESOLVED Resolution||WORKSFORME Keywords||regression --- Comment #5 from Roman Eisele 2012-09-16 13:38:41 UTC --- @Lawrence R. Steeger: Thank you very much for the good test files! Tested with the reporter’s test files on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel). 1) With LibreOffice 3.5.6.2, BOTH .ods files (both the one created with LibO 3.3.1.2 and the one created with 3.6.1.2) open correctly, i.e., the cell A6 is displayed in red, and the “Conditional formatting” dialog window (accessible from the menu via “Format > Conditional Formatting > Conditional Formatting...“) correctly lists the rule to make the cell contents red if the value of the cell is = 5. 2) With LibreOffice 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214), as the user said, only the .ods file created with LibO 3.3.1.2 opens correctly, but the .ods file created wth LibO 3.6.1.2 misses all conditional formatting for cell A6: the cell text is black, and the “Conditional formatting” dialog window (accessible from the menu via “Format > Conditional Formatting > Conditional Formatting...“) does not list any formatting rules. So this is (at least partially) a FILEOPEN problem introduced in LibreOffice 3.6.0 or 3.6.1, therefore I add the keyword “regression”. 3) But, good news: LibreOffice 3.6.2.1 (Build ID: ba822cc; the 1st pre-release of the new 3.6.2 version) opens again both files .ods files correctly, i.e. with the conditional formatting of cell A6, just like LibreOffice 3.5.6.2. So the regression is IMHO already fixed in LibreOffice 3.6.2.1, therefore I set the status of this bug report to RESOLVED/WORKSFORME. @keyopen, @Lawrence R. Steeger: You can test yourself whether LibreOffice 3.6.2.1 solves the problem or not if you download that version from http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/ Feel free to reopen this bug report if you can still reproduce the problem with LibreOffice 3.6.2.1. All versions behave exactly like Haim Kilov described. The question is: is this a bug? (a) On the one hand, one could argue that LibO must honour the file extension, and that, if the the file extension is wrong, LibO should not even open the file. Especially “power users” which are used to manipulate file extensions for special purposes (e.g., changing the extension of a .odt file to “.zip” for un-zipping it), might prefer this view. (b) On the other hand, a “normal” user would expect that software is a bit smarter about file types, especially in this case, when LibO is able to recognize the correct file type when there is no extension at all (as it was common on earlier Mac OS versions). Especially long-time Mac users are used to the automatic recognition of the right file type and can’t believe that a letter more or less in the file name prevents the file from being opened. And “normal users” might think that “.doc” and “.docx” are very similar, so that each of these extensions should work (a “normal user” does not know how extremely different these file formats are!). I don’t know how to find an authoritative answer here. Just an idea: what does MS Office do? Can it open .docx files with “.doc” extension (and the other way around)?
