I unassigned myself from this bug. Since the newly created document is ok and
only gets broken when saved/reopened, someone who knows about read/write of
writer documents needs to look at it. I have not been able to find such a
person to assist me in finding the cause of the problem.

I am willing to improve the code of the label wizard should that be necessary
or desirable.

I am sorry that I cannot fix this bug myself as it is a very annoying bug
indeed.

@ Sanada
Thanks for additional explanations.
As I can understand, if we in dialog Format->Page on tab "Page" changing "Page
layout" field to Mirrored, then on most tabs of this dialog settings are
tacking in account that now instead of left and right margin exist inner and
outer. But tabs "Borders" and "Background" do not so. They remain using left
and right margin instead of inner and outer.

IMHO it is Enhancement request.
And I do not know if it is possible to save such information into Oasis ODF
format.

Possible Workaround: enable Header or Footer, disable there option "The same
content on left/right", draw border as simple rectange and anchor this
rectangle to Header or Footer.

It's a combined FILESAVE / FILEOPEN problem.

- SVG exported from 3.4.5 always look fine opened with LibO 3.4.5 or 3.7.0
or Browser, what indicates a FILESAVE problem for 3.5 and later
- LibO 3.7.0 opens fine SVG export from 3.4.5, but with black pseude background
form later versions, what seems to indicate a FILESAVE problem for 3.5 and
later

- Seamonkey, FF, IE open the exports from later versions fine what seems to
indicate a FILEOPEN problem for 3.5 annd later

Regression: Worked with 3.4

No, looks like page background as I wrote please see test kit in new . But
indeed, it is not a page background. Examination of sample370newopenresult.odg
shows that a black rectangle filling all the page has been created. It's not a
page background what would respect page margins and behave completely different
to the black.

I probably set the EPS options for the highest resolution. I'm sure I used the
same settings when exporting from LibreOffice as I did from Open Office. LO
screwed things up, OO did not. One problem was that LO caused the text "990c"
to have the characters overlapping each other. The characters were not
overlapping in the OO version. The OO version was correct. I had done some
scaling of the spacing of the text. LO caused each character to be larger than
it should be, and overlapping. So it was a combination of the entire image
being larger than it should be, and the "990c" text characters overlapping each
other.

Thank you.

1. The Outline feature arbitrarily changes spacing, so that the first level
will begin spacing the text several tab stops in from the numeral. Also the
numeral itself is apt to be indented without being set to do so. The spacing
after the numeral cannot be fixed in the document. The indented numeral may be
by moving the guidelines or by using the shift buttons on the toolbar, but
neither is a guarantee.

2. Hitting Return at the end of a paragraph is apt to remove all formatting
(font, line spacing etc.) from that paragraph.

3. Text pasted-in is apt to override the guidelines, losing text off the left
side of the page.

I have used both jre6 and jre7. I have recently upgraded to jre7.
Creating a report in design view based on query "Income". add fields Date,
Supplier, value. "Edit/view report works. View/sorting and grouping selecting
Date and moving Date into date group also works. Formatting by moving value
control crashes LO.

Basicly the same results are seen when using the wizard.

I have noticed that the "Insert field dialog from the design method also

Verified, confirming and prioritizing.

LO: Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214)

Minor: Doesn't prevent high quality work but makes it so user has to avoid
using certain feature (coloring headers differently header/footer).

Low: This feature probably doesn't affect man users at all as most users don't
want different colors for headers (most users don't even use headers).

None the less acknowledged that it's annoying and don't misunderstand the
priority. This doesn't mean that we won't look at the bug, all it means is that
when compared to more serious bugs (crashing, RAM drains, etc...) this bug
isn't that serious. Developers take multiple things into consideration when
choosing which bugs to address, priority is only one of those :)

Thanks for reporting.

Just to clarify steps:
open or create a 2 page long document and assign a color to header;
Go to format -> Page -> Header;
unset the "Same content left/right" option;
Click on More... button;
change the header background color;
the color is changed on odd pages only (in this case, only page 1, but if you
have more than two pages it will be all odd pages).

I can confirm the behavior but I can't confirm that we want to change it. If a
user wants centered based off of current position, then it would be hard to do
it when your solution is implemented. This is vs. a user who wants it true
center just not indenting first.

I'll mark as an enhancement request - lowest. This behavior is as intended but
your solution might be desired. Marking it as lowest just because it works as
planned and there is an incredibly easy work around (just don't indent). This
way a developer can take a look and decide if we want to implement the change.

Thanks for understanding and helping out. We'll see what happens with this one.

going on?

Also where is image 1 from if you're saying it's behaving correctly?

Lastly, please provide the steps (or a document) on how to do the borders like
that. This way when someone takes a look at it they know exactly what to do.

Marking as NEEDINFO, just provide those couple points and open it back up to

need the document or steps to reproduce exactly. Thanks a lot for helping out

I was found that I can not get what I expect setting cell borders.

To help in see the issue I have made a file test.

-For the eight line types.
-With five widths for each line type: 0.05 0.25 0.50 1.00 2.00.
-With a defined style for everyone.
-Four cells in box for every combination type line/width.
-Only with black lines.

Even in 400% scale most of them do not appear as I think would expected, not
better exporting to pdf.

I can confirm this but with a slight modification.

LO: Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214)

For me it works 100% of the time the first time but subsequent changes aren't
always done - it's about a 50/50. When I do a change the 2nd time, it usually
doesn't work, but then if I do a 3rd change on top of the 2nd change (without
closing the dialog) it seems to work all the time (or close to all of the
time).

This is a pain and quite annoying. Confirming, prioritizing:

Minor: Makes it substantially harder to make professional quality work but not
impossible, also work around is to close dialog and then apply a new one.

Medium: Probably not affecting that many people as you have to be changing
styles (already rare) and be doing it in a particular way (multiple times
without closing dialog). But leaving at Medium instead of lower because it
doesn't reflect well on LO to have this bug where things aren't consistent.

This is exactly what I need. I format my table heading cells with a coloured
background, but this has to be done manually. If I edit the Table Heading
paragraph style so that the background is a different colour, it doesn't change
the cell's colour, only the paragraph, so the colour doesn't fill the whole
cell. So it's currently impossible to give any table cells or tables a style
that affects it at the cell level rather than paragraph.

Description:
the Format Toolbar should have an Number Format Field (like Font Name) that
shows the actual format of the active cell (like Excell).

Another option would be to provide icons for all supported number formats which
if included in the format toolbar, highlight for the active cell (similar to
Bold, Italic, Unterline). It works already for the provided number formats like
DATE or PERCENTILE.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54974] : calculation based on a field containing a formula with result "" produces an error

2012-09-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #2 from Frank Schönheit 2012-09-16

Well, ISTEXT is not necessarily related to the result of the calculation. For
instance, in OOo 3.3, '=ISTEXT(B2)' in the bugdoc gives TRUE (as expected),
nonetheless C1 shows a '0' instead of the error.

Unfortunately, I don't have LibreOffice 3.4/3.5 at hand right now, so I can't
check the behavior there - the only thing I am sure of is OOo 3.3.

Ok, I tested it some more. It seems hide paragraph works really - only it's
just not being shown (or rather hidden) in Writer. Preview shows it correctly
and also printing handles it correctly.

So, no idea where the fault is.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54990] New: Feature request: Ability to create line hops/jumps for crossing lines

2012-09-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54990

 Bug #: 54990
Summary: Feature request: Ability to create line hops/jumps for
crossing lines
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Drawing
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: b...@pleh.info

Created attachment 67253
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=67253
Flowchart with a line hop

One key feature that I find missing in LibreOffice draw is the ability to have
lines that are crossing each other hop/jump.

Obviously not automatically since then you'll have both lines trying to jump
each other which will look silly but as a property of a line where you set that
it should jump or not + the type of jump (round bridge, square bridge, line
interrupt, etc.)

The attachment that I've added shows what I mean exactly with a line jump/hop
(just so where on the same page).

With this report I want to submit a feature request for implementing this
feature into LibreOffice Draw. I think it will be a significant enhancement of
the abilities of the Draw application.

Thanks in advance.

2012-09-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #5 from haim kilov 2012-09-16 17:12:29 UTC ---
I think this is a bug, at the very least in the Mac environment (see under
(b)), especially since LO works perfectly well if there is no extension at all.
I would not rely too much on what MS does, LO should be better!

Even if LO refuses to open the file then it should provide an error message
stating that the extension is wrong rather than provide a cryptic error message
about a "corrupt" file. After all, LO currently requests permission to "repair"
the file, that should be, in this context, to open it with a proper extension.

I put a break in package/source/zipapi/ZipFile.cxx, function ZipFile::readLOC
Here are the differents locations I got:
_rels/.rels
[Content_Types].xml
[Content_Types].xml
_rels/.rels
docProps/core.xml (different time => ZipIOException but no segfault)
[Content_Types].xml
_rels/.rels
word/_rels/document.xml.rels
word/document.xml
word/settings.xml
word/theme/theme1.xml
word/fontTable.xml (different time => ZipIOException segfault)

Now questions are:
- to what correspond the 2 time values?
- why to compare time values?
- why first exception doesn't give a segfault, the second yes?

BTW, if I remove time comparison part, I can open the file.

On the contrary, I have a Mac and am interested in databases ;-) which is why
Roman asked me to take a look, but I'm not always in front of my OSX machine.
At weekends, I'm mostly on my Linux box. Will take a look tomorrow.

I do have a few questions though to the original poster :

How is the list box created ? SQL, direct entry in a predetermined list, or
some other way ? (if so, how ?)

The fact that is worked in previous versions is interesting, I have 3.3.4,
3.5.6 and a dev daily on my OSX machine, but it would be helpful to have a
sample test file with which to play around, rather than having to create one
myself.

Created attachment 67244

New crash log for bug 47275, created with easily reproducible steps

Mac Accessibility Related Bugs Survey Results
-

All tests done on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel), with RightZoom running to provoke
the Mac accessibility-related bugs.

Steps used for testing:
1) Rename User Profile folder (~/Library/Application Support/LOdev/)
to preclude any influence of local settings on the test results.
2) Start LibreOffice.
3) Open/create new spreadsheet.
4) Type a few values into some cells in the same column; I used
 Alpha
 Beta
 Gamma
 Delta
 Epsilon
   in column A, cell A1 to A5.
5) Select “Data > Filter > AutoFilter” from the Menu.
6) Select a value to filter on.
--> LibreOffice/LOdev crashes with the crash log attached.

Using these steps, the crash is REPRODUCIBLE with
* LibreOffice 3.6 daily (3.6.2.0+), Build ID: cfbfa26,
Pull time: 2012-09-07 10:35:10, German langpack installed
* LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+, Build ID: 5ca197c,
Pull time: 2012-09-06 07:07:33, US English langpack installed

The same crash is also STILL REPRODUCIBLE with the first builds that include
Tor Lillqvist’s and Michael Meek’s two patches for bug 47368:
* LibreOffice 3.6 daily (3.6.2.0+), Build ID: c303961,
Pull time: 2012-09-11 08:49:57, German langpack installed
* LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+, Build ID: 2df0884,
Pull time: 2012-09-11 01:28:39, US English langpack installed

This means that this bug was NOT fixed by these two patches, and this in turn
means that this bug is NOT a duplicate of bug 47368, which was fixed by the two
patches.

Therefore we need to reopen this bug report and handle it separately as a
remaining issue which is related to Mac accessibility features.

--- Comment #5 from Roman Eisele 2012-09-16 13:38:41 UTC ---
@Lawrence R. Steeger:
Thank you very much for the good test files!

Tested with the reporter’s test files on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel).

1) With LibreOffice 3.5.6.2, BOTH .ods files (both the one created with LibO
3.3.1.2 and the one created with 3.6.1.2) open correctly, i.e., the cell A6 is
displayed in red, and the “Conditional formatting” dialog window (accessible
from the menu via “Format > Conditional Formatting > Conditional
Formatting...“) correctly lists the rule to make the cell contents red if the
value of the cell is = 5.

2) With LibreOffice 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214), as the user said, only the
.ods file created with LibO 3.3.1.2 opens correctly, but the .ods file created
wth LibO 3.6.1.2 misses all conditional formatting for cell A6: the cell text
is black, and the “Conditional formatting” dialog window (accessible from the
menu via “Format > Conditional Formatting > Conditional Formatting...“) does
not list any formatting rules.

So this is (at least partially) a FILEOPEN problem introduced in LibreOffice
3.6.0 or 3.6.1, therefore I add the keyword “regression”.

3) But, good news: LibreOffice 3.6.2.1 (Build ID: ba822cc; the 1st pre-release
of the new 3.6.2 version) opens again both files .ods files correctly, i.e.
with the conditional formatting of cell A6, just like LibreOffice 3.5.6.2.

So the regression is IMHO already fixed in LibreOffice 3.6.2.1, therefore I set
the status of this bug report to RESOLVED/WORKSFORME.

@keyopen,
@Lawrence R. Steeger:
You can test yourself whether LibreOffice 3.6.2.1 solves the problem or not if
you download that version from

   http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

Feel free to reopen this bug report if you can still reproduce the problem with
LibreOffice 3.6.2.1. Thank you!

REPRODUCIBLE with any LibreOffice version since 3.3.0 until the newest master
builds (LOdev). All versions behave exactly like Haim Kilov described.

The question is: is this a bug?

(a) On the one hand, one could argue that LibO must honour the file extension,
and that, if the the file extension is wrong, LibO should not even open the
file. Especially “power users” which are used to manipulate file extensions for
special purposes (e.g., changing the extension of a .odt file to “.zip” for
un-zipping it), might prefer this view.

(b) On the other hand, a “normal” user would expect that software is a bit
smarter about file types, especially in this case, when LibO is able to
recognize the correct file type when there is no extension at all (as it was
common on earlier Mac OS versions). Especially long-time Mac users are used to
the automatic recognition of the right file type and can’t believe that a
letter more or less in the file name prevents the file from being opened. And
“normal users” might think that “.doc” and “.docx” are very similar, so that
each of these extensions should work (a “normal user” does not know how
extremely different these file formats are!).

I don’t know how to find an authoritative answer here.

Just an idea: what does MS Office do? Can it open .docx files with “.doc”
extension (and the other way around)? Maybe we could follow its example then
...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54956] FORMATTING: Conditional formatting on sheet a lost when I add another condition to sheet b

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54956

--- Comment #6 from rl 2012-09-16 13:01:03 UTC ---
No, I didn't delete anything. All I did was to add the conditions again, that
had disappeared.

As I said, the problem doesn't surface reliably. Sometimes I open the file and
I can reproduce it consistently, and other times everything works fine. Haven't
seen any pattern in this yet.

Today I had the idea that the issue may have been triggered by my use of
percent signs in some of the sheet names. But that I didn't see the problem
once I removed the %s, was likely just a coincidence.
