[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48022] Impress SLIDESHOW: ppt file shown incorrectly when hardware acceleration enabled on Linux

2012-12-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48022

Sasha, sorry I have missed your "Comment 4" referring that this is not working
on Linu. "Mea culpa".

I installed LibreOffice 3.6 on Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit using the following commands
(adding PPA):
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libreoffice libreoffice-gnome

After install completed I started LibreOffice and checked Help | About and
there is 3.6.0.2 (so looks like build without fixes). I opened Impress file
attached to this bug report and file opened successfully and slide show works
fine.

Sasha, can you please specify what is the LibreOffice version and Linux
distribution/version you are using. I am using 32-bit Ubuntu and LibreOffice,
you refer to 64-bit.

Problem description: The text on an image does not appear in the header of a
page in LibreOffice 4.0.0.0 Beta1. In LibreOffice 3.6.3, this text is present.

Steps to reproduce:
1. The operating system used is Linux debian 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP Sun Sep 23
09:49:36 UTC 2012 i686 GNU/Linux.
2. The OpenDocument Text (ODT) file can be found here:

5. Compare and contrast page 5 respectively in the two PDF files of the same
ODT file. See the line:

Australia’s Digital Economy: Future Directions

6. This line is missing in the PDF file produced by LibreOffice 4.0.0.0 Beta1.
However, the PDF file generated by LibreOffice 3.6.3 shows this line.
7. This line is also missing in the ODT file in LibreOffice 4.0.0.0 Beta1.
Nonetheless, LibreOffice 3.6.3 shows this line in the same ODT file.

Confirmed with 12/20 build of dev master. Always . The lexical
scope of the function name is file/module scope. IIRC, some time ago, Noel
Power told me that some module scope objects have this issue. Moved to NEW.

Tested global vars (working) and const items (don't work) with the following:

global SomeTweak as integer
const TweakToo = 2

Sub Main
SomeTweak = 1
c=MySum(1,2)
MsgBox c
End Sub

public Function MySum (a as Integer, b as Integer)
   MySum=SomeTweak+TweakToo
   MySum=a+MySum
   MySum=MySum*10
   MySum=b+MySum
End Function

I know watching a const isn't very useful but there may be even more BASIC
constructs that have this issue of falsely reporting in the
Watch Window.

Confirmed in build from 12/20 master. This issue is a more general IDE
interface issue of selecting whole identifiers (on dbl click, on add to watch,
???).

Selection in BASIC IDE should extend the selection from cursor to cover an
entire identifier that contains any legal character. This should include
extending the selection to whole keywords that contain other chars invalid for
identifiers (like the $ at the end of CHR$()). I can confirm that is a
long-standing issue. Moved to NEW.

With several reporters and examples across three bugs (cf. Bug 54339, Bug
55397).
Existed as a show-stopper for any BASIC code using static variables from 3.5
through 3.6.2. More than one report that it works in 3.6.2 and I can confirm
it is working in 3.6.3.

I would leave it in RESOLVED until:
1) it can be determined how this got broken/fixed, and
2) a [very simple] regression test can be included in the BASIC unit test.
But of course, qa may mark this as verified at any time.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 53332] BASIC: backups are not reliable on some cases

  Component|BASIC |Writer

Although it refers to open office will believe that this stress test could trip
up LibreOffice as well. However, if this is happening it is a Writer problem
that may involves File Save, Auto-Recovery and possibly Auto-Save as well.
Changing component to Writer.

Suggested title: Backup lost on AutoRecovery from simulated full disk

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57723] Can't use VBA-compatible constant in Const variable

Confirmed in 3.6.3 on Ubuntu 10.04...

' NOGO>>> Const NEWLINE As String = Chr(13)
Const NEWLINE As String = " ouch "

' NOGO>>> Public Const MESSAGE As String = "Foo " & Chr(10) & Chr(13) & " Bar"
' NOGO>>> Public Const MESSAGE As String = "Foo " & VbCrLf & " Bar"
' NOGO>>> Public Const MESSAGE As String = "Foo " & NEWLINE & " Bar"
Public Const MESSAGE As String = "Foo " & " Bar"

It seems that one can use the & to concatenate, but everything to the right of
= must be string literal. I think this is working as designed. However, it is
not an unreasonable enhancement to be able to use named constants as well.

Want to check VBA action and VBA/LibO BASIC documentation. Might be a dropout
in the VBA compatibility.

Ok I can get this XLS opening time to something below 10 seconds by removing
one insane call.

http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/filter/excel/xiescher.cxx#1677
does look a bit strange and is responsible for the slow import. This call has
been added by dr for https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=12587 but
somehow looks like a really bad idea. The only problem with removing it is that
it might introduce some hidden regressions.

interesting... this appears to call some MSVC runtime assertion facility,
which is (since bug 38913) hooked by a invalidParameterHandler
function in sal/osl/w32/salinit.cxx, so it does not crash any more
but prints out many lines of "Invalid parameter in ???" lines.

problem is in Windows-only UniscribeLayout apparently.
GetNextGlyphs returns -1 character position, which is then used as index.

...

it appears that the way in which the mnSubStringMin is initialized that
is used in the fix for bug 33090 is mostly guesswork, and when the
guessing doesn't match reality the wrong array entries are written.

strangely the bugdoc does not actually seem to use the attached font,
after fixing this to not crash i get lots of empty squares on windows
even after copying the font to c:/windows/fonts...

I have looked at the duplicate bug, and feel I should point out that:
-My demo document is not broken and was created in LibreOffice, not OpenOffice
-This report is (more) specific as to the conditions under which the problem
occurs
-This report/document includes specific steps that reliably reproduce the
problem(s)
-The bugs in this report can be reproduced both in v3.6.4.3 and v4.0.0.0beta1
Therefore I believe that this report should not be resolved in the same manner
as its predecessor, bug 54627.

cliffa: first, thank you for your feedback.

There are certainly still memory leakages but with a quite small file and just
very few steps to process to trigger the leakage, it may help the
investigation.
So could you attach a "minimum file" where you noticed this?

Summary: Calc - CONDITIONAL FORMATTING: dysfunctional during

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: mchl.r...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.0.0.0.beta1
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

4.0.0.0.beta1 Version + (Build ID: b0eb7231a9643d71be3125be7248c91242339ab
under Vista

Steps to reproduce:

Purpose: Conditional Formatting on cell A1 of Sheet1 with the following
condition: $Sheet1$A$1^2>$Sheet2.$D$1

1/ Format > Conditional Formatting > Condition
2/ select the condition "Formula is"
3/ position the cursor in the input box
4/ click cell A1: the input box contains: $Sheet1.$A$1
5/ with the keyboard, add ^2> to obtain: $Sheet1.$A$1^2> (leave the cursor
remaining after >)
6a/ it is impossible to select Sheet2
6b/ so we try now to work on Sheet1: select cell D1, the input box now
contains: $Sheet1.$A$1, the previous content is erased. We expected:
$Sheet1$A$1^2>$Sheet1.$D$1

Points 6a and 6b worked correctly with versions 3.5 and earlier.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58596

I don't have any specific extensions created. The spreadsheet was not
imported from another app (excel, open office, etc..) I can recreate the
problem from a blank spreadsheet just by entering values in cells. It does
not require undo to reproduce, though I rarely use that, so no, not an
issue related to undo.

Unfortunately, I can not tie the memory leak to a specific feature, as I
can reproduce it just by entering values in cells.

Sorry I can't be of more help...

Version 4.0.0.0.beta1+ (Build ID: b0eb7231a9643d71be3125be7248c91242339ab

Steps to reproduce :

anything)
3/ in the new window, click the icon “shrink” (without entering anything)
4/ the return is incorrect, the Source field is not displayed
5/ OK

Again on the same cell or another one:
Item 4: the return now presents two overlapping windows:
Click OK on the first
Click OK on the 2nd => CRASH
Then, if I accept to recover the file, I get the following message:
"The file '$(ARG1)' is corrupt and therefore cannot be opened. LOdev can try to

I checked with versions 3.5.7 and 3.6.4: no crash

2012-12-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58586

--- Comment #2 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de ---
The problem is, that there isn't a primary-key for the second table of your
query and you want to edit the query. If you try to open the query, Base
doesn't understand the query and opens in the SQL-mode.
Second problem I saw was, that the User with ID 0 appears very often in the
result of the executed query.

Try the following query:

SELECT "UserId", "FirstName", "LastName", "Adress", "Zip", "City", "Mail",
((SELECT MAX( "Year" ) AS "LastSubscription" FROM "T_Subscription" WHERE
"UserId" = "a"."UserId" GROUP BY "UserId")) AS "LastSubscription" FROM
"T_User" AS "a"

With this subselsct it works. If you don't use two brackets, the filter doesn't
work, because it tries to solve the subselect without brackets in the
WHERE-clause.

This isn't a problem from the tablecontrol but a problem, that you try code,
which isn't compatible with the GUI. A query, which doesn't work correct in the
query-editor, couldn't work correct in the tablecontrol of a form.

Could you rename your LO directory profile and test again? (see

If you still reproduce this, do you have lo-menubar installed? If yes, could

Finally, could you give a try to a newer version? FYI, last version is 3.6.4.

But I agree that allowing to connect to an LDAP server as a source for
addresses is nice to have, thinking about corps with some Active Directories or
other LDAP directories with all their members in.

So either we submit this enhancement to vote :
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Vote_for_Enhancement

Or we confirm it and set it up as a EasyHack DifficultyInteresting SkillCpp.

hmm... this is weird... cannot reproduce this problem on Linux,
only on Windows, even though i can reproduce bug 55044 on Linux.

but the fix for 55044 apparently fixes this one on Windows too.

Korrawit, actually the bug is in these so-called "insignificant"
sal_Bool changes, as i was surprised to find out after noticing
that scale codepath is not actually executed :)

Thanks for reproducing

In writer, you put a 'Text' Object from 'Drawing' toolbar, then input some
text, after that select 'Block selection', it can't work.

If I use the 'Frame', input some text, it works fine for 'Block selection'.

Some more observations: I see a preview for "New Times Roman", "DejaVu Sans",
Wegoe UI" and 2 chinese looking fonts, all in the font name. All other font
names are shown in system font without extra preview.

NEW because of confirmed TrueType icon problem, I am pretty sure that these
problems are related.

This was still ok for me with Server-installation of Master "3.7.0.alpha0+ –

@vitriol
Thx. for testing. I can't reproduce the "ComboBox is too narrow" problem for
"Times New Roman", but som fonts with long names like "Simplified Arabic Fixed"
or "Bitstream Vera Sans Mono". And my screenshots seem th show that width of
that selector has decreased. Can you please submit an extra bug (if not already
in Bugzilla) for some fine tuning there?

@Bibisecters:
I wonder whether this can bei bibisected under WIN
