I am afraid the only way is to check the IDL files or the generated
documentation at

Added 54275: this bug prevents Ubuntu Linux users (not confirmed for other
distros) to be able to save documents to mounted gvfs samba shares (when
navigating via nautilus sidebar menu).

Seems very critical for a network situation. 3.5.x does not have this issue.
Workaround to manually navigate to mountpoint will not be known to many users.

You can zip in 1 file a directory containing a files and subdirectories (which
also can contains files and subdirectories, etc.).
So just the main directory and attach the file.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56035

That's what happened for me with Beta 1, so obviously nothing has changed in
Beta 2.

I ended up reinstalling an earlier version of OpenOffice to get the filters,
but I've started using LibreOffice for my actual document creation/editing, on
the assumption (which may be misguided) that it will get more development than
OpenOffice as time goes on. I'd never heard of it until this isssue of filters
arose (Apache accidentally missed out their 64 bit filters). The green
LibreOffice image doesn't inspire me, it looks far more clunky than the
polished OpenOffice image.

sample test document

I believe this regression is new with version 4.0. It has not been corrected
as of beta 2. I think that bugs 57063 and 58116 might be describing the same
problem. I'm fairly certain that bug 57063 is the same issue but in my testing
I've found it has nothing to do with using a template from an older version
therefore I'm creating a new bug. The problem can be duplicated by creating a
new writer document from version 4.0 beta 2 and performing the following steps:

Create a new paragraph style called style1
Create a new paragraph style called style2
Create a new paragraph style called style3

Create the following lines in the document and set the styles accordingly:
This paragraph uses style1
This paragraph uses style2
This paragraph uses style3
This paragraph uses style1

Modify paragraph style1 to be linked with "none" and to have a below paragraph
spacing of 0.10"

Modify paragraph style2 to be linked with style1
Modify paragraph style3 to be linked with style2

Save the document, close the program, and then re-load the document. The
paragraph spacing between the paragraphs is correct.

Now modify style2 to have and indent before text of 0.50" and after text of
0.50".

Save the document and close the program. Re-open the document and the below
spacing on style2 and style3 has been reset to 0"

This problem has been experienced on Linux and Windows XP and prevents me from
being able to upgrade. A test document has been attached.

only partly reproducible with LO 3.6.4.3. (Win7 Home, 64bit)

The document looks in LO 3.6.4.3. much better than in the PDF attachment for LO
3.5.4.2., especially the tables. Therefore, the compatibility has probably
been improved much more from 3.5.4.2. to 3.6.4.3. I do not have LO 3.5.4.2.
and therefore can not compare it.

Nevertheless, there are two issues left:
First, the document is still not on only one page as in WORD 2007.
Second, the grey background colours of the field names are much darker in LO
3.6.4.3. than in WORD 2007.

Sorry Julien but I don't know what to attach!

I can get to the bugtracker attachment window OK and I can zip up the
profile folder. But when I go to "Add an attachment" it asks me for a
file and it won't let me add a compressed folder full of other folders
and files. I've tried the copy and paste utility as well but to no
better effect.

Are there any specific files within the
\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\3\User folder which I should attach?

applied a filter? (the third step: "Click one of the drop-down arrows and
apply a filter.")

I can also reproduce on 32bit linux with 3.6.4.3.
"Insert columns" is available after the second step ("Click somewhere in a

This comment sign is really small. The mouse over is no problem, because for
opening the comment you do not need to mouse over the rectangle, only the cell.
But in a larger spreadsheet it is not so easy to recognise these rectangles.
Therefore, it would maybe be good to have the rectangle a little bit larger.
Of course, this is not a bug, but a design issue.

Especially Urmas' observation seems interesting, and I can confirm it (better
reproducible with Filled Cells until G300).

I am pretty sure that the problem is in Writer LibO 4. Copy from Calc 4.0 to

Sorry Julien, I had a go at attaching the old profile to the bug report
but couldn't figure out how to do it.

I zipped up the 'old_User' folder which, presumably contains the
profile, but I cannot figure out how to attach it to the bug report.

reproducible and confirmed with LO 3.6.4.3. (Win7 Home, 64bit)

All numbering for figures and equations are missing. If you open the same file
in Word 2007 everything is fine.

In addition, I recognized two further bugs.
First, the images and text in the header and footer are grey in the original
Word document (opened in Word 2007), but in LO they are black.
Second, in the orginal document the page numbering in the header is aligned
right, but in LO this is missed and the page numbering is following right after
the header text.

not normative reproducible with LO 3.6.4.3. (Win7 Home, 64bit), only under very
specific circumstances

reproduced by the following steps:
1. Open WRITER with English language setting
2. Write any text (e.g. "Test") and press the Enter Key
3. Insert any image (e.g. from a file)
4. Right mouse click on the image and select CAPTION
5. Write any text in the field CAPTION (e.g. "Image") and now the caption is
shown below the image
6. Save this file and switch to German language settings of LO (TOOLS ->
OPTIONS -> LANGUAGE SETTINGS -> LANGUAGE = German)
7. Open WRITER with German settings
8. Put the cursor before the entered text from step 2
9. Select QUERVERWEIS (CROSS-REFERENCE) from the menu EINFÜGEN (INSERT), go to
the tab QUERVERWEISE (CROSS-REFERENCES) and select the type ABBILDUNG
(ILLUSTRATION) and select KATEGORIE UND NUMMER (CATEGORY AND NUMBER) and choose
the inserted image and press INSERT
10. The number is shown, but not the category, in addition in the German
version the caption below the image is still named as "Illustration" instead of
"Abbildung"
But I am not sure if this is a bug.

Reporting for Version 4.0.0.0.beta2

I am attaching a sample odt file with a single table that has some images.

Writer of LO 3.6.4.3 can display this table perfectly.
Writer of LO 4.0.0.0 beta2 can NOT display the images (it shows only
placeholders).

In fact this happens with images that are inserted in running text (instead of
in tables).

Probably the common factor is all these images are inserted "as character".

I agree with Ukyoi D that the bold-faced characters are shown in inconsistent
ways.

My operating system is Linux debian 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP Sun Sep 23 09:49:36 UTC
2012 i686 GNU/Linux (Linux).

In LibreOffice Impress, follow:
Tools-> Options -> LibreOffice->
View-> Graphics output->
Use hardware acceleration-> OK
-> Slide Show -> Slide Show

The bold-faced Chinese, Korean and Japanese characters are not displayed
properly in a slide show when the hardware acceleration (HA) is used.

When HA is not used, these bold-faced characters are shown correctly.

The inconsistent problem exists in LibreOffice Version 3.6.3.2.

It also exists in LibreOffice 4.0.0.0 Beta2.

I am submitting the sample slide show and some screenshots.

Regards,
C. H. D.

2012-12-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42920

--- Comment #9 from jcs.libreoff...@soroban.co.uk ---
Steps to reproduce problem (from the originator of this issue)

Create a custom outline numbered list -> Appendix Numbering
Make the level item = A.
so that the L2 item = A.1
and the L3 item is = A.1.1

create a custom style based on Header 1 - Appendix 1
Attach the custom numbering list Appendix Numbering
Make the outline level for the style = 1

create a custom style based on Header 2 = Appendix 2
Attach the custom numbering list Appendix Numbering
Make the outline level for the style = 2

repeat for as many levels as you want

Create some text
apply Appendix 1 style - expected behaviour = number as A
Actual behaviour is correct

create some more text
apply appendix 2 style - expected behaviour = number as A.1
Actual behaviour number as A

It shows Level 1, Outline level = 2 in the status bar.

It always applies the style numbering as Level 1 from the custom numbering
style irrespective of the Outline Level defined in the paragraph style.

It should apply the Outline Level as defined in the style and not always use
level 1.

I don't understand why there are both a Level and an Outline level shown in the
status bar.

One glitch:

When using the old full screen feature, LO switches to OS FS mode, but the
small "Exit Full Screen" dialog box still stays open. So if I try to switch to
normal mode using Mac OS X FS button, it exits full screen, but toolbars are
not visible, and "Exit Full Screen" dialog is still open. I still have to press
that button once more for toolbars to become visible.

I think LO Full Screen button should be removed, and replaced by the OS full
screen functions totally.

Draw in Fullscreen mode

Freshly tested, working like a charm. :)

But one thing, an extra white area appears when taken to full screen mode (see
screenshot), it would be great to get rid of that area to maintain a seamless
full-screen experience.

Other than that perfect it seems.

These documents from "Bug 49403 - RTF: layout of RTF document broken,
regression from LibO 3.4" also might cause crashes and "General Error"
Messages, but it is not sure that tat is because of the same root problems as
in the first sample document.

@Timon:
Please only attach sample documents if you are sure that they demonstrate the

If you add some extra lines in the paragraph "Nothing", the formula and the OLE

I expect most users don't want this.

2012-12-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Most of the time, the image should stay on the current page but should be
automatically blocked by the print zone (it goes up in the paragraph). The
basic idea is : as the "out of the print zone" should be empty, there is no
reason why the user would want the images to automatically go out of the print
zone.
On the contrary, a user should always be able to move an image out of the print
zone manually (ie drag & drop).

The image should go to the next page only if the whole paragraph jumps to the
next page or if there is really no place left for the image on the current
page.

Moving the beginning of horizontal scroll bar, to do tabs visible, two tabs are

Neither I have Excel for test.

Not a calculation bug.

Saving and opening with LibreOffice and xlsx file format, no issue there.

Please @Jacques, if you have not saved the file in Excel with both tabs
selected, please open a new bug with the issue of importing Excel file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58713] New: FORMATTING: Resizing A Cell Affects Other Cells

2012-12-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58713

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58713
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FORMATTING: Resizing A Cell Affects Other Cells
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: laptopdu...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: I have been fitting rows and columns to the boxes in a
background image (specifically a DnD character sheet) and then merging cells so
the box on the background image is more or less editable. Sometimes, when I
resize a column (or row), one or more columns (or rows) to the left (or above)
that one also change. After many columns (or rows) have been resized, this very
noticeably throws off the alignment of merged cells with their corresponding
boxes on the background picture. This also sometimes occurs when changing zoom
levels, switching between sheets, closing and reopening the document, or just
editing the contents of cells.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Paste something with a grid/table/boxes into Calc and set it as a background
image. Preferably in which the boxes are smaller than the default column size
in Calc.
2. Resize columns and rows to match the borders of the items in the background
image.
3. Eventually, you will notice that resizing one cell seems to cause a shift as
all cells to the left (or above) it become smaller. This will be obvious as the
cells no longer line up precisely with the background image.

Current behavior: Resizing a row or column causes rows/columns other than the
one currently being edited to change. I am not sure, but I think this might be
due to the inexactness of resizing by dragging the dividing bar between
columns/rows. For example, I can drag a column divider form 60 points to 50.5
points, and yet the column is not visually resized, even though the tooltip for
the column now shows the new size. Perhaps resizing columns eventually forces a
refresh of other columns and all of those little differences add up.

Expected behavior: Resizing a column/row should not cause other columns/rows to
shift or change size or refresh or whatever. The graphic display of the
spreadsheet should always match the true column and row sizes so that
subsequent columns and rows are not moved over more than they should be.
Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 3.6.4.3 release

OK, here is a first result of playing around with the sample file: something is
definitely wrong with the re-calculation/update of the summmary field.

I can get it to work by entering the summary formula again, but then again it
fails to update
* when I change the counts in column D
* when I delete a row
In both cases I need to enter the formula again -- i.e., select the cell with
the main summary, click into the formula input field at the top of the window,
and press enter/OK; then the formula updates.

Additionally, when I add another row to the formula, I can get into a state
where the tooltip for the formula field still says:
  =sum(||),
and the field still displays this value (e.g., "315,00"), but the formula input
field at the top of the window displays as formula just says
  =sum()

So there is definitely something “out of sync” here. Therefore I set the status
of this bug report to NEW.

However, before we talk about this bug to the developers, it would be better to
do additional tests, which
(a) make the steps given above reproducible step by step (I have just “played
around” with the file, therefore I can not yet say if this behaviour
is 100% reproducible),
(b) ideally, re-create the same problem in an even simpler file with
instructions how to reprodoce the issue step by step, beginning
with an empty Writer document.

I will try to do these additional tests and to report the results in the
step-by-step format preferred by the developers in the next days/weeks.

'Standard' and 'IgnoreAll' dictionaries are created automatically during the
first spell check.

The US dictionary contains some of technical terms and is present in each LO
installation because the entire world is limited with USA for opensores
developers.

Slovenian dictionary shouldn't be there, but it cannot be presently removed due
to developers' incompetence.

If you find the proofing tools module list unintuitive, please create a
