[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59902] (regression): LibreOffice does not warn when opening a .sdw or .sdc file, therefore imports crap
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59902 --- Comment #4 from Gerry gerry.trep...@googlemail.com --- In the original bug entry, I did not see any list of filters, but the binary file just got imported as ASCII text to Writer, which - of course - doesn't make sense. Hence I did some more testing: Situation A: If you open the file from the LibreOffice StartCentre, then you are pointed to a list of filters to choose from. Situation B: If you open Writer and choose File - Open you do not get any list of filters, but the binary file directly imports as ASCII file, which results in a bunch of crap. In both situations, there is no dummy filter or warning for the user that the old StarOffice filters were removed and a hint what the user shall do. I marked it as a regression for two reasons: First, according to Michael there was a dummy filter (I assume in previous test releases) which is not there now. Second, the import of the binary StarOffice file as ASCII is a regression over any previous version. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59902] LibreOffice does not warn when opening a .sdw or .sdc file, therefore imports crap
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59902 Joren De Cuyper joren.libreoff...@telenet.be changed: What|Removed |Added Summary|(regression): LibreOffice |LibreOffice does not warn |does not warn when opening |when opening a .sdw or .sdc |a .sdw or .sdc file,|file, therefore imports |therefore imports crap |crap Keywords||regression --- Comment #6 from Joren De Cuyper joren.libreoff...@telenet.be --- (In reply to comment #4) In the original bug entry, I did not see any list of filters, but the binary file just got imported as ASCII text to Writer, which - of course - doesn't make sense. I can confirm that behavior. In both situations, there is no dummy filter or warning for the user that the old StarOffice filters were removed and a hint what the user shall do. I marked it as a regression for two reasons: First, according to Michael there was a dummy filter (I assume in previous test releases) which is not there now. I agree with that point of view. But I don't know for sure it ever worked. Based on what Michael said I'll indeed mark this as a regression. Therefore I mark this bug as a regression (in the keywords) and then I can delete it also from the title. Second, the import of the binary StarOffice file as ASCII is a regression over any previous version. I'm absolutely not familiar with that, so I can't confirm this due my lack of experience for this :-). Following [1] I can't decide which priority to set this bug report. I now can see what you mean with the the lost formatting. I'll attach a pdf I created with LibreOffice 4.0.0.2 rc2. There you can indeed conclude that it is a linux only problem so far. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59932] New: FILEOPEN: Text boxes with bulleted lists containing wrapped text resize when re-opening saved .pptx format

Problem description: When saving a LibreOffice Impress file as .pptx for compatibility, text boxes containing bullets are ruined. On reopening the file, any text boxes with wrapped text are shown with their horizontal dimension extended so that there is no longer any wrapped text. The text boxes therefore render with their left border far leftwards from their original position, ruining the slide layout. Also, the bullets in these text boxes render as an empty square (no known character) instead of their original bullet character. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open an existing PPTx document created by MS PowerPoint (document renders correctly initally) 2. Add a few slides, and add some text boxes to the slide. Create a bulleted list with enough text in at least one of the lines so that it wraps onto another line. 3. Save the document in .pptx compatibility. 4. Reopen the document and navigate to the slide you created. 5. Marvel at how your corporate presentation has been totally obliterated! 6. Wonder why you ever thought ditching MS Office and embracing FLOSS office packages was a good idea... Current behavior: - Text boxes with wrapped text become horizontally enlarged so that no more text wrapping occurs. - Bullet point characters are forgotten and render as empty squares. Expected behavior: - Text boxes retain the size and position that the user told them to be - Bullet point lists retain the bullet point characters that were selected by the user - Wrapped lines stay wrapped Operating System: Ubuntu Version: 3.6.2.2 release -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
