Summary: Calc conditional formatting icon sets: Please add
smilies :-)
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All

Status: UNCONFIRMED

Icon sets in the new conditional formatting dialog are great. At the moment,
there are just a few different icon sets available.

Please add "Smilies" to these icon sets, 3 smilies from "Smile" over "Plain" to
"Sad".

If license allows it, these smilies-sets on Openclipart fit very well:

Option A:
http://openclipart.org/detail/100759/smiley-by-zorro (the third, the fifth and
the seventh in the list)

Option B:
http://openclipart.org/detail/30217/tango-face-smile-by-warszawianka
http://openclipart.org/detail/30229/tango-face-plain-by-

Option C:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60106] New: EDITING: Position of left quotation mark is not fully left at the margin

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: bugquestcon...@online.de
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 73977
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=73977&action=edit
Writer file with examples and explanations

Problem description:
When a quotation mark is used as the first character in a line, it's position
is not fully left aligned the with the first characters of lines above and
below. If the quotation mark is written somewhere in a line and flows over due
to adding of text before the quotation mark, the left quotation mark is in
correct position.

See also examples in attached file. Various test were made and explained

Steps to reproduce:
1. write a text and end it with a ENTER to create a new line
2. type left quotation mark as the first character in a line
3. result: quotation mark is not left aligned

The same happens when unformated text is pasted and in the pasted text there is
a left quotation mark the first character in a line.

Current behavior:
Left quotation mark is not left aligned when typed or copied as first character
in a line.

Expected behavior:
Left quotation mark is always fully left aligned when it is the first character
in a line

I can confirm that this issue still exists with 3.6.2.2.

This is a really important missing features. As the OP pointed out, this
functionality exists in pretty much every other

A workaround is to keep a blank file around as a sort of template and copy it
with cp before opening the file. Something like:

soffice.sh:

#!/bin/sh
NAME=$1
[ -e $NAME ] || cp $HOME/blank.odt $NAME
soffice $NAME

If you make this executable and place it somewhere in your path, it does
essentially what you might expect.

BUT this requires keeping a blank ODT file in your home directory and being
careful not to edit it (unless you want to start out with some formatting or
something.

It does have the advantage that you can define some default styles to apply to
your text and have them be consistent across documents, though.

I submitted a separate "Bug 60091 - PRINTING all page of particular .odp shows

Simple Sample

All tests here done with server installation of "Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+
(Build ID: 2823789bec0c029d9714aff0ed65923e23177ef) TinderBox: Win-x86@6,
Branch:master, Pull Time: 2013-01-24_22:52:49" ENGLISH UI / German Locale on
German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with LO41 Masters User Profile

The problem persists and is better visible after page bitmap background has
been changed to NONE, also some other element in Slide 1 can be deleted without
influence the strange 2 extra background rectangles around shape "For a
holiday" in Print.

But as soon as you delete 1 of the shapes "To get into a University or
Collage", "To communicate", "Why Learn German (the main reasons)?" the bug
with "For a holiday" will switch to the "default bug" that bitmap backgound is
shown as big rectangle , not respecting shape borders.

Attached you will find a minimum sample to reproduce the problem.

Steps how to reproduce the problem with :
1. Open "simplesample.odp" from LibO Start Center
2. Print Slide 1 (for example also to FreePDF)
   > Bug visible as shown in bug documentation Attachment 73813
3. Delete Shape "To communicate"
   > But switches to "default bug" that bitmap backgound is shown as
big rectangle , not respecting shape borders.

Slide 2 only for comparison

AFAIK LibreOffice never implemented the "Show Full Menus" mess of Office 2003,
it has always displayed the full menus (unless they don’t fit in the screen, of
course). Could you attach an screenshot?

I think the toolbars either should be gray (to follow Mac OS X’s theme) or
should use the same background gradient used under Windows. Both options would

Not really a bug.

Rather a LONG overdue feature enhancement.

I have recently come back to LibreOffice (used OpenOffice and StarOffice before
that), after having used MS-Word.

I concur that LibreOffice needs a Normal View where formatting and fonts are
not displayed, just the text (bold and italic is acceptable).

This would go a long way to bridge what LibreOffice has to offer as a writing
tool and what programs like WriteRoom, OmmWriter, PyRoom and multiple others
have to offer : DISTRACTION FREE WRITING.

1) Call it "Distraction Free View" --- rather obvious

2) Allow for a DIFFERENT color theme than for Web or Print view. For those of
you who are old enough : Remember WordPerfect white on blue screen. I am still
drawn to that. Currently the chosen color theme applies to BOTH Web and Print
view. So if I chose to edit text in Web View (sorta of a stopgap) with a blue
backgroud and yellow font. That color theme is carried over to Print view when
I want to check formatting. I have to go and change the color theme. It's a
pain.

3) If we really want to go wild...: allow for different keybindings in
"Distraction Free View"

- a Vim mode
- or and Emacs mode
- or Wordstar mode (would probably get some old science fiction writers, who
are still useing WordStar, to switch to LibreOffice.)

What can I do to help you with this?

Hello!

Thanks for the rapid reply.

I deleted the "4" folder in AppData folder, and then restarted LO. No change:
The problem still exists. In fact, I forgot to mention that I am seeing this
problem in two PCs that are different so far as CPU, chipset and motherboard
are concerned; but both are running 32-bit Win7.

I would not be surprised if this turned out to be specific to 32-bit version of
Win7 (and not found even in 64-bit version of Win7). I have already come across
a problem like that in 3.6.4, which existed in 4.0.0.1 but vanished in 4.0.0.2
alpha, although it is not specifically mentioned in the change log.

The obvious conclusion is people change code without mentioning it in the
change log; and some of it is even rolled back; again without a mention. :(

When I save a document that contains characters in upper index into a DOC

applied to other random parts of the text as well. It is impossible to get rid
of it, because, when you fix it (turn the font format back to normal index) and
save it in DOC, it will be there again, after you open it. The upper index us
unbelievably persistent. Everyone, who receives your documents in DOC will have
see the messed text as well. It is not easy to describe, but try to open the
attached file. This severe bug makes me unable to submit any work in DOC

document contains one table over 112 pages which stresses Writer layout.

here it's about twice as slow in 4.0 than in 3.6...

2/3 of the performance difference are from this commit:

commit f4d20a400b5c06959fd5a362a350bb4d9a6e4bd1
Author: Caolán McNamara
Date: Sat Jul 14 21:21:15 2012 +0100

Resolves: fdo#31821 use icu layout whenever possible

because icu knows all about otf so we don't have to, which makes
things its problem and not ours.

This is the default route for all "ctl" languages already so if
we suffer performance issues here we should try and fix that before
just reverting

i wonder if this ICU stuff is slower just on this document or if it's
a more general issue; the ICU stuff does appear to create more
precise results anyway as seen in bug 59278

Can't reproduce using LibreOffice 4.0.0.2 rc2 with Linux Mint 14 x64. Both
exported pdfs show same result, no green rectangle or missing image. Therefore
I think it's OS related.

Do you have any extensions installed? And to exclude it's an user profile
problem, is it possible for you to reset your user profile (guide:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resetting_the_user_profile)? I
don't think it'll solve you problem, but I just want to be sure :-).

2. Print slide 5 (for example to FreePDF)
Expected: bitmap background only shown within shape borders
 for shape "For a holiday"
Actual: 2 strange extra rectangles as shown in bug documentation
Attachment 73813 for Bug 40863 second screenshot

Already [Reproducible] with unzipped installation of "LOdev 4.0.0.0.alpha1+
 - ENGLISH UI / German Locale [Build ID:
af60316514f3ae3d4c475819bf86f2af837171e)]" {tinderbox: Win-x86@6, pull time
2012-11-23 22:10:31} on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with own separate User
Profile

Was still ok with Master 370alpha0 2012-10-06

The effect is only reproducible for the shape in this particular presentation,
problem not visible when I copy/paste shape to new presentation

More research results tomorrow

Kedar:
After having reading comment of fdo#37449, it seems it's only due to font
Roboto.
If it's not the case :
- Did you install any LO specific extensions?
- Did you install any specific fonts?
- What's your Java version?
- Did you try to rename your LO directory profile? (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)

I'll try to find some time to test with Roboto font.

We discussed this on IRC to mark this bug as 'critical high', following [1].
Saving this pptx file as pptx or odt result in a loss of data and we are
convinced that this bug affect many (not most) users.

I also tested this using LibreOffice master Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID:
9a39ae6d2d1eb1443bee95232c6b045d60f9052). Bug still exist.

Also tested with oldest bibisectable version in bibisect40 (= LibreOffice 3.5.0
Build ID: d6cde02), also reproducible. -> change bug version to 3.5.0

I can confirm this behavior using Mac OSX 10.8.2 with LibreOffice 4.0.0.2 rc2;
Dutch UI;

The background image isn't lost when you resave it as pptx, but it's indeed
lost when saving as ODP. When reopening the ODP there is a "colored" background
visible.

Following [1] I mark it as 'Normal Medium'.

I have a similar problem, with some specific .xls files opening with the 'text

Operating system: Linux 3.5.0.22 with KDE 4.9.4.

Please see my example above: "Example for opening *.xls as text-file, around
20kB size"

The File was created with Excel 2007 and modified with "Quickoffice" on a
Nokia-mobile.

My "workaround" is open with OpenOffice 3.4.1 and save as *.ODS. Not the best
solution, but ok to survive

Looks like I jumped the gun, it's still not working. What happened was I tried
to pin a .ods document which worked. Then I tried .xls files which also
worked. When I tried another .ods document, it failed just as it always does
but .xls documents continue to work so it looks like .xls documents are
cock-blocking the .ods file from being pinned somehow.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54009] Jumplists not working - cannot pin open document formatted docs (.ods, odt)

2013-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54009

I've figured out a solution to the problem. I tried to make this work on a
brand new computer and low & behold it did! On the original computer I used
Revo Uninstaller to completely remove LibreOffice and any trace of the program
after which I re-installed. Works perfectly. Something in the left over
registry entries or files is what causes this problem.

On my laptop (Win 7 64bit) the problem does not exist in 3.5.7.2 and appears
only in 3.6.x and continues to 4.0 RC2. Real shame as I cannot upgrade beyond
3.5.7 due to this bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46410] EDITING: Alphabetical index with concordance file

2013-01-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46410

I can confirm that on LO 3.6.5.2 running on Fedora 18 the problem still exists.
Text on the page is not indexed according to the concordance file but text in a
frame does get indexed.
As mentioned before, this is a regression as this used to work. Unfortunately I
am not sure which version it last worked in.
I can confirm that the same concordance file, used for my test, works fine,
when used with exactly the same text, in OpenOffice 3.4.1

If the file is opened in LO, having been saved in OO then the index displays
correctly.
If the concordance file is edited and the index is updated, nothing happens.
Save the file, open it in OO and update the index - the change is correctly
displayed.

This was not the case in 3.6.x

Have you tried resetting your user profile after reinstalling Libreoffice?

If the dialogue goes away after resetting your profile, could you profile us a
sample file that this problem occurs with?

And lastly what is your OS X version?
