Assuming that you run only a LibO version without Japanese, I am not surprised
that you cannot reproduce the bug.

It would ne necessary to use a different machine with Japanese, Chinese or
Korean fonts and language support installed.

Do you know someone who uses such a system and is willing to make a test?

Thank you for reporting!

I mark this bug report as duplicate of a newer bug report, because a developer
is currently working on that one, and there is already more information there.

ah, ok didn't read that python had being changed to open a new text document in
case none exists. That change has created some inconsistency, probably the
other ones should have been changed at the same time.
So, still imho this is not a bug, the helloworld examples are just that...
examples. Would be nice though if someone updated the other 'Helloworld'

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58417

(In reply to comment #19)
Confirmed (with variations).
locale -a gives ... ca_ES.utf8 ca_ES.utf8@valencia ...
and, indeed, I had in /usr/share/hunspell the offending files:
ca_ES-valencia.aff ca_ES-valencia.dic

Moving such files out of the hunspell folder made LO4.0 (release) work.

So, I guess that the library does not segfault because of the remaining "_"
character (or that there are two different causes for segfault) but because
something happens interpreting ca-ES-valencia...

>From the stack traces, seems that lt_bool_t lt_tag_parse(lt_tag_t *tag, const
char *tag_string, lt_error_t **error) does something strange (writing null vma)
when fed with the wrong string from LanguageTag::canonicalize() .
As I'm not a developer, I'm unable to tell anything more.

Problem description:

In AskLibO
(http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/2525/save-as-untitled-1/#12334) there
was the request to have Writer saving the document as default with the first
words of the text rather than with "Untitled 1".

Additionally I would like to add that the field for the filename in a footer of
a writer document shows the name of the default filename before the file is
saved.

Currently, the field shows only a dot. and it took me a while to find out that
the dot is replaced by the filename when the file is saved once. It would be
easier to understand the file name field when it shows immediately the
filename (first words of text or untitled 1).

The problem is not (compleatly) fixed in 4.0.0.3:

- Open attached "original ODT file" in LO4.0.
- "Save as.." Office2007/2010 DOCX

When I open the resulting file in LO4.0, the result is OK.

When I open the resulting file in MS Office 2007, I still get 4 Pages with
wrong line spacing.

It looks like LO4.0 is consistent in saving/loding the line spaces, but the
behavior is different from MS Office.

This monster bug has to be split up to tasks which are realistic to implement.
As a start, master now supports gradients as textframe backgrounds:

Regarding ODF, gradient backgrounds were already part of the standard, just
Writer textframes didn't support it.

I'm closing this bug, but feel free to open a separate bugs for other related
features (one that comes to my mind is table/row/cell gradient background, that
probably would make sense).

Attached XLS document does NOT contain

but Calc 4.0.0 asks for enabling/disabling

There was no such problem in 3.6.5 or earlier

Might be an ODF validity problem.

In attached Test kit you will find 3 Templates.

LushGreen_4003.otp
---
This is the original tempate from OOo 4.0.0.3
LibO 3.6.5.3: opens fine
LibO 4.0.0.3: shows wrong view due to reporter's "libreoffice-4.0.0.3.pdf"

LushGreen_4003_365_extendedodf.otp

document with ODF compatibility setting "1.2 Extended"
LibO 3.6.5.3: opens fine
LibO 4.0.0.3: shows wrong view due to reporter's "libreoffice-4.0.0.3.pdf"

LushGreen_4003_365_strictodf.otp

Has been created from "LushGreen_4003.otp" using LibO 3.6.5: I saved the
document with ODF compatibility setting "1.2" (= strict)
LibO 3.6.5.3: opens fine
LibO 4.0.0.3: opens fine

drawingstrict_365.odg
-
Drawing created from LibO 3.6 with Background picture from Template "Lush
green", saved with strict 1.2 ODF
LibO 3.6.5.3: opens fine
LibO 4.0.0.3: opens fine

drawingextended_365.odg
-
Drawing created from LibO 3.6 with Background picture from Template "Lush
green", saved with Extended 1.2 ODF
LibO 3.6.5.3: opens fine
LibO 4.0.0.3: shows wrong view due to reporter's "libreoffice-4.0.0.3.pdf"

I did an additional test with the LushGreen.otp I find in the 3.6.5
installation: Same problems with 4.0.0.3

So the problem is not in the template, but a problem with tolerance concerning
Extended ODF 1.2

Also affected Presentation Templates: Abstract Yellow and may be others with
other effects

Currently LibO ofen breaks ODF standards lightheaded.
- Why has an empty writer document saved with ODF 1.2 extended ODF errors
  "unexpected attribute "style:contextual-spacing""?
- Why do we contribute Presentation templates with invalid ODF, what causes

LibO Templates and LibO Documents only should break ODF compatibility in "ODF

Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: Extensions
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: When upgrading from major versions v.3.x.x. to v.4.x.x. If
I have created a gallery of clip art in the LibreOffice gallery, the imagage
path inside the gallery extension needs to be reconfigured. Is there a way to
allow a user to create a gallery, not worry about the path update after a major
update or even a downgrade?

Steps to reproduce:
1. create new theme in gallery
2. add a new image/clip art into the theme
3. update your version of LibreOffice from v.3.x.x. to 4.x.x.
4. the gallery created in v.3 is no longer available in v.4

Current behavior: gallery path leads to .config->LibreOffice->3->user->gallery.
When I upgrade to LibreOffice4.0.0.3 the gallery is no longer available

Expected behavior: User creates a gallery in any version of LibreOffice and the
gallery remains active regardless of the version of LibreOffice
upgrade/downgrade. This will allow users to exchange gallery clipart packages
without having to worry about instructing each other on how to apply the
gallery in different versions of LibreOffice.

"Never recalculate" as the setted option (note: "Never recalculate is a big

- If you like to test it: On Windows: Delete the config directory

As said in previous comments, the UI now has a way to show this, so closing.

As for actually naming the font used, that's done in a completely unrelated
code (and since the 'Character' dialog doesn't show the information either,
it's a question how difficult it would be to find out). If you want such a
feature, a suggest a separate enhancement request.

I have confirmed this behavior using LibreOffice Version 4.0.1.0+ (Build ID:

This problem also occurs when the text is changed back to vertical in the .doc
file.

1. Highlight text.
2. Format -> Character
3. Click the position tab.
4. Change to 90 degrees.
5. Save and close the document.

When you reopen the .doc after making the change, that character position
setting is back to 0 degrees, horizontal.

This behavior does not occur when the text is not inside a table.

Fridrich, all 292 stencils are wrapped EMF images.
I don't see anything special in the file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59155] FORMATTING: Tables copied from LO Calc seems to have life of their own

2013-02-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59155

Brenda Granados changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED
 Resolution|--- |WORKSFORME

I am not sure exactly how you tried to paste the table. I followed these
instructions for MS products, but using Libre Office:

In Calc, copy the table rows and data.
In Writer, click where you want the table.
Choose Edit -> Paste Special.
Choose the Calc Object.

This results in the table being imported as an uneditable image... which I
imagine is not useful.

I found a different approach that I believe gives the results you want:

In Calc, copy the table rows and data.
In Writer, click where you want the table.
Choose Edit -> Paste Special.
This time choose Formatted Text.

This results in the table showing up with editable columns, and in a much
easier to read format.

I did this on Version 4.0.1.0+ (Build ID:
e8af168ca227529b752abb9c7aecc42be4a229) on Ubuntu 12.04.

Fridrich, 3 of 5 shapes are using stencils. All stencils are 'ForeignShape'
with wrapped EMF. 2 other shapes are unreferenced EMF files.

Half filled shape (2nd from the left) is EMF incorrectly handled by LO.
I extracted it, see attached file.
