[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65328] New: FILESAVE: after particular XLSX saving document structure is lost and it could not be opened in MSO

2013-06-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65328

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 65328
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILESAVE: after particular XLSX saving document
structure is lost and it could not be opened in MSO
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: kaktebyaviru...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 80264
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=80264action=edit
Example_32_1.xlsx - original file, Example_32_2.xlsx - resaved in LibO,
error055480_01.xml - error log from MSO

LibreOffice Version: 4.0.3.3 Build ID: 0eaa50a932c8f2199a615e1eb30f7ac74279539
on Russian Windows XP Professional SP3 (32bit)

If we try to open Example_32_1.xlsx file in LibreOffice and make any changes
(for example, in cell D22 we change 0 - 1), save file in existent format
(Microsoft Excel 2007/2010 XML (.xlsx)) and close LibreOffice after that, then
the next time we try to open that file (see Example_32_2.xlsx) we see that
document structure has been completely lost (font and backround colors lost,
bold text is lost, all columns have default width, ...) and the worst thing
that file could not not be opened in MSOffice suite anymore (tested in 2003 and
2007). MSOffice says that There are errors in file. List of removed components
is below: Replaced component: part /xl/worksheets/sheet1.xml with XML error.
Download failed. Row 2, Column 135408

Yes, this is a missing feature in the flash exporter, thus setting this to
'enhancement'. There is, though, an experimental svg export that has effects

'experimental features' in Tools-Options-General-Advanced.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60599] [FILEOPEN] In sheets from Excel 2010/2013, cell borders appear wider in LO

2013-06-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60599

--- Comment #8 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
I am providing this comment in the hopes of offering some clarity. Bug #58356
referenced in comment #5 has been marked as a duplicate of bug #56960 which
initially outlined a series of problems but now appears to deal solely with a
XLSX cell border issue. Bug #56960 appears related to bug #53287 which has also
had a rather rough life but again deals with XLS/XLSX cell border issues.

I think those last two bugs are currently awaiting UX advice on two issues: a)
how to treat the particular issue of displaying / rendering cell border widths
on screen; b) whether to restrict the number of possible cell border widths to
only a few values (as OOXML does). Bug #48282 seems related to these two bugs
as well. I will leave it to Mirosław and Joren to determine how and to what
extent this bug may relate to these issues and what to do about it.

Comment #5 also references bug #52578 which is a different issue and a clearer
bug - that of incrementing cell border widths (up to 4.00pt/thick) each time an
XLSX is saved. I have commented in that bug to try and provide a clearer
picture of what appears to be occurring.

Status: UNCONFIRMED

   Product: LibreOffice

This is a request for enhancement, rather than a bug report.

Impress has a nice and rich series of animations. However, the default
direction is not the best for my purpose and I have to change it each time. For
example, when I add a peek in animation, it is by default from bottom, which
I almost never use. I would like to change the default to from left or from
top.

At ask.libreoffice.org I was told that currently there is no way to do that and
I was suggested to file an enhancement request
(http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/17994/changing-default-animation-direction-in-impress/),
which is what I am doing right now.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50879

--- Comment #1 from schlittc...@uni-bremen.de ---
The problem is still there in 4.0.2.2. It is easy to reproduce:

Create a form on Linux, export as PDF, open it using (for example)
Acrobat Reader on Windows. You get a message about missing fonts
(LiberationSans
in my case). The static text shows ok, but the form fields only show
placeholder chars when filled. Choosing to embed standard fonts while exporting
does not
help.

This makes the creation of cross-platform PDF-forms effectivly impossible.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65337] New: EDITING: Can not edit formula

2013-06-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: gilles.mo...@gmail.com

Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5 Daily
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

If I enter a simple formula, like =SOMME(E1:E15), LibreOffice automatically
changes it into =SOMME;(E1:E15), can not understand it and the return an Err:
508.

I'm running a LibreOffice 3.5 based on OpenOffice.org 350m1(Build:2).

As you may have noticed, I'm running LibreOffice in French.
I think the problem happened when I switched it to French (Switerland), in
order to have dots (.) in place of commas (,) for decimal separator (I was
publishing an article and wanted to have numbers formatted like 123.456 instead
of 123,456). To switch to French (Switerland), I went into Tools Options
Linguistic parameters Language Linguistic environment.

After that, I came back to French (France), and the problem appeared. I tried
to go back to French (Switerland), but the problem was still there.

I noticed this problem dos not occur with LibreOffice 4.0 on Windows with the
same files.

On my side, in order to be able to work back on LibreOffice, I'm going to ask
my admins to upgrade the version.

Thanks in advance !

Bother; so - no I don't have a build (sorry) making generic linux builds is
rather a black-art, sorry about that.
OTOH - if we can get your other bugs filed / fixed on master that would be the
best solution - they sound debilitating we can't ship 4.1 like that. Master
-should- be usable at all times :-)

This seems to be bug 53227 however that bug is for 3.n
This bug now happens in 4.1 b1

To make it happen all the time
Find an image on the web and copy it using a browser that
copies both the hyperlink and the bitmap to the clipboard
and check that the hyperlink is the first in the list

In Writer do paste special and select the bitmap
then just do a paste and the first image will either vanish
or bit will vanish

Clicking on the first image will restore it ( if you can find
it on the page if it has completely vanished )

On a system with a nVidia graphics card, nouveau driver, two monitors, Impress
fails to control Display2 (external).
The video setup does have Xinerama disabled in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
When Xinerama is enabled, all seems to work well.

How to reproduce:

Open a presentation.

Configure the presentation settings to use Display2 (external).

Start the presentation.

Display1 now shows the presentation control screen, while Display2 shows a
white screen. When exchange is done, Display1 shows the presentation but
Display2 remains white.

When the presentation settings are changed to use Display1 the results are
similar, Display2 always shows a white screen.

X.Org X Server 1.12.4 + nouveau driver 0.0.16.

2013-06-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55735

This is still in 4.1 b1 ( Linux on openSuse 12.3 )

The workaround is always to use paste special and select the bitmap from
the list in the clipboard. Selecting the hyperlink or just doing a straight
paste will hang LO writer or grind it to a standstill ( if the hyperlink
is the first item in the list on the clipboard )

Both Firefox and Chrome copy both the hyperlink and the bitmap which
causes writer problems if the hyperlink is the first in the list. If
you use Opera it always works OK because in that browser it only ever
puts the bitmap on the clipboard.

Meanwhile, if you're not afraid to edit xml files, you can change the defaults

For the peek in effect, search for ooo-entrance-peek-in in that file, and

I believe this is the same bug as
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51701 which was dismissed as
notabug... I couldn't prove the conclusion was wrong because I don't have
Visio...

In any case this is a Regression from 4.0

--- Comment #5 from pierre-yves samyn pierre-yves.sa...@laposte.net ---
Hello

(In reply to comment #4)
@pierre-yves: what is the situation with you?

As Markus said, there is only one option available
(already selected).

I struggled today to reproduce the problem.
I think I found the procedure. The error occurs when there is more than one
spreadsheet open.

1. File Open ExportODC1.ods (attachment)
2. File Open ExportODC2.ods (attachment)
3. Edit chart (double-click on the chart)
4. File Save as (dialog opens with the selected type ODC)
5. Give a name and confirm

The error message occurs (see attached screenshot)

Regards
Pierre-Yves

I checked to see if the bug is present in LibreOffice 4.1 beta 1, on a VM
running the beta version of Fedora 19, so that I could compare the LibreOffice
RPMs with those provided by Fedora.

Using the RPMs from the LibreOffice download site, the problem is still
present.

However, using the RPMs provided by Fedora, the problem is NOT present. (Before
switching versions, I erased my profile.)

This seems to confirm my guess that this is either a packaging problem or
something Fedora-specific.

I tried editing the xml file, after quitting LO but it didn't work. Doesn't
matter, I'll wait for the enhancement.
You may also consider another, related enhancement. When you select a group of
objects (separate objects selected together by the mouse, not grouped in a
single object) and you specify an animation, you can change at once the start
attribute but you cannot change the property, because it is grayed. You
have to select these objects one by one and change the property separately. It
would be more practical if one could change this at once, for example all from
bottom to from left, to stick to the same example.

This has not been a problem so far, maybe future builds like 4.1 should be

Khaled, if you are not able to reproduce it in your build. You might want to
try a build with --with-distro=LibreOfficeLinux. It will use more internal
libraries as defined in distro-configs/LibreOfficeLinux.conf. I see the problem
with this configuration. David and Kendy saw it as well, so it has to be
something more common.

Thanks in advance for looking into it.

(In reply to comment #0)

from what to what?

You mean 'Templates /My Templates ' in the dialog File New Template, I
guess?

However, going to My Templates and selecting Import seems to be a

There you can import/find your templates?

This has not been a problem so far, maybe future builds like 4.1 should be

Short: is the problem that you cannot reach templates that are not saved via
the Dialog File Save as template' ?

Hi Pierre-Yves :)
Thanks for reporting!

I agree. Furthermore: I think the side bar is a nice piece of work which opens
the possibility for some improvements in future.

Currently, it's just more or less doubling already existing functions. All
controls for direct formatting both on the tool bar and in that nice panel.
Shiver ...

So currently it enhances the use of direct formating. The one and by far
largest problem in office productivity work (and document exchange,
compatibility etc etc and so forth...)

But: as I wrote: a change to improve something. As a first step, I strongly
support your request.

Cheers - Cor

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43299] default language for document does not stick

2013-06-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43299

--- Comment #12 from brendel bren...@nancy.inra.fr ---
No, sorry, ignore system language does not seem to work.
I have just run a series of tests. I'm using windows seven, system language is
french, but I'm using a german keyboard. In windows seven I can however
separate the keyboard layout and the language used; so I have three
language/keyboard settings that I have tested :

 * german language and keyboard
 * french language and french keyboard
 * french language and german keyboard

I have pasted text from my email program (pmail) into empty, new Libreoffice
text documents ; independently of the language/keyboard setting during paste,
the pasted text turns up in german (even though the standard language for new
documents is set to french).
I have also tried to change the language/keyboard settings during the copy
action from the email program : same result, the pasted text is in german.

However, if I do CTRL+SHIFT+V to do a special paste, the text arrives in
french.

So it seems to me that the problem has something to do with pasting formatted
text, which seems to contain language information that is taken from the
attached keyboard, independently of the the layout and language settings !!!

I guess this one won't be easy to figure out

Cheers

Oliver

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65354] New: REPORTBUILDER: Incorrect time zone being displayed in date field

2013-06-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65354

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 65354
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: REPORTBUILDER: Incorrect time zone being displayed in
date field
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: umn19...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 80292
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=80292action=edit
Bug reproduction example

Problem description: In reports, when TIMEVALUE(NOW()) is used in the report
builder, the value that gets displayed in a report differs depending on whether
a string gets appended to it. In particular, daylight savings time seems to be
getting ignored when TIMEVALUE(NOW()) is concatenated with a string.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attachment 'reportsTimeZoneBug.odb'.
2. In the left pane, click Reports.
3. In the lower-right pane, right-click and choose Edit.
4. Move the report builder to the side. Now, got back to the lower-right pane,
and double-click the report.

Current behavior: When TIMEVALUE(NOW()) is used alone, or when NOW() is
concatenated to a string, the correct time zone (including daylight savings) is
used. However, when TIMEVALUE(NOW()) is concatenated to a string, an incorrect
time zone is being displayed.

Expected behavior: NOW() with string concatenation and TIMEVALUE(NOW()) with
string concatenation should both be displaying the same time zone.

Additional information: I am in a locale that has daylight savings time (United
States Eastern Time Zone), so testing the file on a computer in a locale that
does not have daylight savings may cause the bug to not be visible.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33899] Autocorrection replaces dates with fractions

2013-06-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33899

--- Comment #27 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
In response to comment #8, the workaround (2) suggested is not effective under
GNU/Linux TDF/LOv4.0.3.3. If I change the AutoCorrection Replacement Table
entry 1/2 with 1|2 in order to allow fractions but via a different key
combination, it has no effect on typing 1/2. This value is *still* changed to
a fraction. The new combination is changed as well, but the fact that the old
combination is also changed points to a deeper issue with this facility (which
I believe you indicate - it sounds like it is hardcoded somewhere).

--- Comment #2 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu ---
Agree, the default Properties panel currently emphasizes direct formatting vs.
use of styles as represented in the Styles Formatting panel -- and that is a
valid UX discussion in further development of sidebar, and for that matter the
Template Manager. But, direct formatting has its use for efficient creation and
editing of documents, often because of a poorly implemented styling and
template infrastructure.

But, as this experimental LibreOffice feature has not been developed or
designed within LibreOffice, this UX discussion probably should be taken
upstream where it belongs for the near term.

Hi, as the title says, I started noting a display issue in Writer, consisting
in a non-existent separation between the last letters from some words and the
rest of said words (as an example, seen developmen t instead of
development). Another display distortion I'm finding is superscript letters
being converted to subscript. The issue only seems to happen when using full
justification, since it is gone when switching to left justification. However,
the subscript issue still persists when switching justifications, so it might
be a separate problem. I am seen this in three different computers all running
Fedora 19 beta. I downgrade to Libreoffice previous version and the issue was
gone altogether.

   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 80293
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=80293action=edit
Bug reproduction example

Problem description: If you set a section (i.e., Page Header, Page Footer,
Report Header, etc.) to have 0.00 height, and then later decide to increase
the height to something non-zero, in certain circumstances, you can cause
LibreOffice to crash.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attachment 'reportbuilderSectionResizeBug.odb'.
2. In the left pane, click Reports.
3. In the lower-right pane, right-click and choose Edit.
4. Right-click the Page Footer section, and choose Properties.
5. In the Height property, you can set the height to anything between 0.00
and 0.28 without causing LibreOffice to crash. However, if you try to set any
value that is 0.29 or larger, LibreOffice will crash.

Interestingly, there is a workaround that prevents LibreOffice from crashing.
If you set a height to something between 0.00 and 0.28, and then save the
report, save the database, quit LibreOffice, and then reopen the database, you
can then proceed to increase the value of the height to larger than 0.29. On
the other hand, if you set the height to something between 0.00 and 0.28 and
save everything, but then try to increase the height to larger than 0.29
WITHOUT closing LibreOffice, it will still cause LibreOffice to crash.
