[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67608] New: QUERY/TABLE copy/paste a single column

2013-07-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67608

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67608
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: QUERY/TABLE copy/paste a single column
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: lio...@mamane.lu
  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

In Base, open a query or table.

1) Select the whole grid. Copy. Paste in Calc (or another spreadsheet).

Works. The whole query/table is pasted.

2) Select one (whole) row. Copy. Paste in Calc (or another spreadsheet).

Works. The whole row is pasted.

3) Select a single column. Copy. Paste in Calc.

Only a single cell is pasted (from the current row).

   Should paste the whole column.

Usage scenario: Write a query that returns a list of email addresses. Paste the
list of email addresses in BCC field of a new message in Icedove (or possibly
other MUA / email clients - untested with others). This works when copying a
column from Calc, but not from Base.

Since last version libreoffice does not open the text files anymore as saved
before.
So if youz open a file, it will always appear "scale: page", not for example
"optimal", as I like it best.

Also the characters in the menu are now white. Some of them are merely
invisible.

I dont know where to change this.

I use windows 7 home 64bit

As per bug 67445#c0, I assume that you use a MySQL connector compiled for
Apache OpenOffice instead of one for LibreOffice 4.1.

Reopen if you can reproduce with LibreOffice 4.1.0.4 or later, with a connector
compiled for LibreOffice 4.1.0.4 (the release version, not an alpha/beta/rc)

Apache OpenOffice and LibreOffice have diverged as far as date&time datatypes
are concerned. A connector compiled for Apache OpenOffice will not work with
LibreOffice, especially in the date & time area.

It's not an enhancement. It's a regression. The behavior changed from <4.0.4 to

It used to work how it should -- the new file was written honoring the symbolic

To be more precise, in this case LibO incorrectly processes documents having

no specific instructions (new blanks).

Those docs which have zoom factor reset to something else and are saved then,
seem to zoom fine on re-open.

Thank you. When I know it now, the problem sounds a bit stupid for me.

But from usability point of view, it would be very nice to have some hint in

I can confirm this bug in LibrOffice 3.6.7.2 and LibreOffice 4.1.0.4.

The Chinese chars are squashed together when:
* non-Chinese fonts are applied to these chars (Arial,Calibri,Droid Serif/sans,
ubuntu, Times New Roman, etc.); and
* font size is large enough ( 16pt for Arial, Ubuntu and Calibri, 15pt for
Droid, 19pt for Times New Roman).

It's OK when Chinese fonts are applied.

It was solved.Earlier I had blown up a picture in my email. Somehow this

Just taking a wild guess here... feel free to shoot this comment down at will
:).

If the error is only in the case sensitivity (SharedStrings.xml vs
sharedStrings.xml), could it be that case-sensitivity wasn't a design concern
for OOXML? (Windows filesystems, the registry afaik are also case insensitive)
In which case, there could be (and likely are) other implementations of OOXML
that produce files incompatible w/ LO in this regard.

Tried the 31st July nightly build and the particular Writer doc I had issues
with now works, but Calc still has the issue.

Screen shot shows creating a spreadsheet and then starting to type... the text
starts to resize in and out as you type and the cursor starts to get in the
wrong position. This is same behaviour as the released 4.1 version.

OS X 10.7.5.

I just signed up to report what I believe is the same bug... critical, yes,
basically it is unusable in its current form.

I have reverted back to 4.0.4.

Basically not only does the text 'move around', but when you click to insert,
the cursor is positioned in one place, but the text starts typing in another
place several characters off.

So you can't actually use it practically... I tried for 10 minutes, but
basically you don't know where the text is going to start typing unless you
start typing on a new line, hence I have reverted to 4.0.4.

As mentioned in other comments, the problem is also in Calc, and seems more
reproducible in calc. I can start a new spreadsheet, type a few words and
before long the cursor is in completely the wrong position.

Anything I can do to help, let me know (more in the testing/triage area).

So I take it I should not open a new bug for this, and not for Calc either?

Thanks

Can confrim this.

What I found: in the window Manage names, there are single quotes around the
sheet name MASTER SUMMARY.
Removing those, makes that the original range names are again used in the
formulas, but then the formulas pasted from file2 are corrupted :)

(In 4.1.0.4 I had a different result - there is some problem with c&paste
formulas from another file IIRC).

Hi GerardF,
it is not easy to understand why an older bug is a duplicate of a newer.
If there is a reason to do so, maybe a little explanation for the reporter it
is not a bad idea.

Further testing: Saved the .rtf file as .odt in TextEdit, then opened it with

My final conclusion under LO 4.0.4.2 Calc the bug is very very uncommon, under
LO 4.1.0.4 it is a pain in the neck, the "do not move before saving" procedure
mention not always work. I'll stick with LO 4.0.4.2 until the bug doesn't bug

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67594] New: [RTF Import] [RTL] Writer imports punctuation signs incorrectly in RTL text.

2013-07-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67594

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67594
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: [RTF Import] [RTL] Writer imports punctuation signs
incorrectly in RTL text.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: emir_s...@msn.com
  Hardware: All
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Hello,

I have .rtf files which contains RTL text with brackets and colons. They were
created using TextEdit, and now I want to save them as .odt, but they are
imported incorrectly.

-In the original file, each word has colons and two spaces between them (space,
colon, space), but when imported it becomes (colon, space, space).

-Brackets do not follow RTL direction, they become LTR instead.

-Brackets between RTL characters has also messed up formatting and rendering
issues.

I'll now attach .pdf, .rtf, and .odt versions, also the font itself.

Note: I am using OS X, so CoreText imports the RTL text correctly, but not the
colon and the brackets (or LibreOffice). I have no idea how it will look on
Linux or Windows. Also the .odt file I am attaching is not touched after
importing, just embedded the font. Writing direction of all text needs to be
changed to RTL to get the formatting like in .PDF file.

thanks 4 confirming issue with your pdf sample.
I'm then moving it to mab4.0 vs. mab3.6 because 3.6 has reached EOL so we are
in the process of closing the meta bug.

by the way you should not change the version field that way... (you changed it
from 3.3.0 to 4.1.0)

version should indicate the first version where the bug has ever been reported,
so according to what I read in previous comments the first ever reproducibile
version is 3.3.3 ( Comment 11 ) even though is possible that this has been
inherited from OOo and was already present in 3.3.0

should I see a chart? does Word visualize a chart on that document?

took the sampleok_odf12_savedfrom345.odg from you test kit.

I loaded it and saved and reloaded with 4.0.4 and 4.1.0 multiple times
alternatively and I don't show the progressive "corruption" of the window image
you reported with older LibO releases.

the only thing I notice is microscopic y axis position shift of the whole
"house" image (already reported in Comment 6) and a font change in the text of
the first page (from Arial to Times New Roman)

it seems to me that the 4.0.x and 4.1.x branches are now able to load and save
.odg files created with the 3.4.5 release with minor flaws.

since the original bug report is about the "corruption" of the grouped shapes
drawings (the "window" image) which is not present with currently supported
LibO 4.0.x and 4.1.x branches, I change status to WORKSFORME

--- Comment #5 from Lionel Elie Mamane ---
Hmmm... This seems extremely related to the situation / scenario described in
bug 58080. My guess:

In bug 58080, the "Generic Printer" business pollutes the "pdfdevice" setting
(in memory) and puts 0 there. Then I save the file (in bug 58080, the assert
fails only the second time the print dialog is opened).

After printing the file *once* in the "Generic Printer" situation, I saved the
file, which saved the bad "pdfdevice=0" in the file, leading to this bug.
