Hard to tell when such an issue will be picked up. As written by others: this
is annoying but not seen as a really big problem.

(So shouldn't it be 'normal' and not 'major' ?)

Do you have arguments why it should be considered as a big problem?

2014-01-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73349

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 73349
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING - Embedded Firebird - Fieldtype BLOB allows to
select MOV but fails to do so causing LO to hang
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: ipla...@yahoo.co.uk
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

Testing Firbird BLOB support.
Although MOV files are listed as acceptable input data streams in the dialog
(using a form with an image control bound to a BLOB defined field), these files
are not inserted, but LO attempts nonetheless to do so, and when these files
are large, say more than a couple of Mb, causes LO Base to stop responding.

I'm not sure how this could be resolved, perhaps by excluding video formats
from the list of supported file types for that particular dialog ?

The hang appears to last for as long as it takes LO to completely parse the
file stream then reject it. If you have a large MOV file this will cause the
app hang mechanism to kick in, killing the app.

Hello Cor

It fine to keep it normal, but considering an unkwnoun image component is
coming, over my data in xlsx, so in a way it leads to data corruption(for user
it is data corruption, when opening file, data is not properly visible), so it
seems it should have higest priority with high criticality.

How to reproduce :

1) Create a new embedded Firebird db with the wizard

2) Create a table with two fields :
ID : integer, primary key
IMG : blob

3) Create a form based on the table

4) Double-click on the saved form to open it and double-click on the image
control to choose a media. Note that in the media choice dialog, MOV files are
allowed.

5) Choose a large MOV file.

6) Wait, wait some more, listen to disk activity whirring while LO attempts to
process the file - during this time LO is unresponsive.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73319] FORMATTING: table headers are blank

2014-01-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73319

Hi,

With LibO 4.2.0.1 rc1, all text disappears in the table.

I notice that the header/footer of the page consists in a large image, wich
appears to be the cause of the trouble. Shrinking or deleting this image leads
to :
- the text re-apparition,
- a color (red ; not exactly the expected one) in the expected cells,
- a false color (red instead of black) for the text of the first small cells of
each table part.

So bug confirmation : the background image should not affect foreground page
content.

Hmm, are there two separate things here then :

Does this happen only with firebird and/or only if the table has a blob field?
Then please adapt summary and lower severity.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73354] New: Autorecovery of embedded Firebird files creates two or more concurrent instances of restored files leaving them in incoherent state

2014-01-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73354

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 73354
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Autorecovery of embedded Firebird files creates two or
more concurrent instances of restored files leaving
them in incoherent state
  Severity: critical
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: ipla...@yahoo.co.uk
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

After a crash when working with embedded Firebird db, the autorecovery
mechanism attempts to recover at least 2 instances of the same file. If the
user accepts the autorecovery procedure, LO opens both instances, but the two
files (which have the same name) are in an incoherent state, one showing the
state of the file before any changes were saved, and the other the state of the
file just before the crash without the original objects, i.e. displaying only
the changes. Clicking on any of the objects when this second file is open, e.g.
a form, leads to a further crash and the following gdb output :

A test file with combined lines

When I open a file with combined lines created in LO Draw 4.1 in LO Draw 4.2,
the lines change their positions.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Libre Office Draw 4.1.4
2. Draw some lines
3. Select them and combine (Modify->Combine)
4. Save the file
5. Open the file in Libre Office Draw 4.2

I attach a test file created in Libre Office Draw 4.1.4.2 from Debian Wheezy
backports. One more example is attached to bug 73204

I tried to open the file in Libre Office 4.2.0.1 and 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ (
Build ID: fdc1b1fc174da27e3016370fdb603d6bbe49af4d
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF, Branch:master, Time:
2013-12-26_10:00:24 ) with the same result.

I found a similar bug report for version 3.5 (see bug 53691)

Operating System: Debian
Version: 4.2.0.1 rc
Last worked in: 4.1.4.2 release

This doesn't seem the same bug, because this one happens on export but bug
#72872 happens on import.

Anyway, I've checked that this is not reproducible any more! Some recent commit
must have fixed the regression. Keeping it closed but marked as "fixed" :)

Unfortunately, bug #72872 is still around.

as a first step they can be changed from referencing the libraries directly
to referencing Packages (like commit 6d9026f7a7ebad02b57fcd2dd15f66adeba361af )
which gets rid of lots of #ifdefs already.

we could probably go a bit further and add something like auto-installed
libraries also for packages, so that the packages are listed in Repository.mk
with the scp2 package, just like libraries, but that requires some new
functions in AutoInstall.mk.

this looks suspicious:

bool SwPageDesc::GetInfo( SfxPoolItem & rInfo ) const
{
if( !aMaster.GetInfo( rInfo ) )
return false;   // found
return aLeft.GetInfo( rInfo );
}

if there is only one page in the document then only the
SwPageDesc::m_FirstMaster (which was added in LO 4.0) is
actually in use, the aMaster [right-page other than first]
and aLeft [left-page other than first] are not.

probably this needs to check m_FirstMaster and
m_FirstLeft too.

Marcos, do you have some time to try this out?

Look at the web page: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan
Most of the dates are 7 or 8 January but clearly the week number defers, so it
is illogical.

P.S. See the same dates on the same web page also on other tables for older

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73255] EDITING: Variable disappears when in first line of document

2014-01-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73255

Hi. After investigations under LibO 4.2.0.1 rc1 on Win 7, I found the following
:

After deleting first (empty) line, the variable doesn't disappear, instead its
value is changed to blank. The questions turns to be "when is this variable's
value set ?" : it is in the "field/other/set variable", in the header.

So I suppose that the header is processed at the first paragraph mark of the
page (= evidence of a non-empty page), and not at the very beginning of the
page body. I consider that the documentation should be more explicit on the
sequence of setting/showing of such a variable (a text is not a program ; the
use of variable, for instance to command the hiding of pieces of texts, is not
intuitive).

Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.1 rc
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: text will no longer copy and paste into some other
programs (like MS Office, or Scapple)

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create some text in Writer (doesn't seem to matter whether it's in an
unsaved document or saved in any particular format)
2. Copy the text
3. Go to a program that normally accepts pasted text and try to paste by the
usual means (ie ctrl + v, or using the edit/paste commands)

Current behavior: In MS Office programs the text will only paste if you choose
the non-formatted option - it will no longer paste if you choose "merge
formatting" etc. In Scapple (literature and latte's mind mapping program) it
doesn't paste at all - though in some other programs it still seems to work.

Expected behavior: the pasted text should appear without further intervention
(as it does if I copy and paste from MS Word etc). I've never had this problem
with previous version of LO Writer.

   Version: 4.1.3.2 release

In Writer you can set an option to align a frame to the "inner" or "outer" side
of a mirrored page layout. However if you want to have text flowing around the
"other" side of the frame with some separation between, you'll have to add some
spacing between the frame and the surrounding text.

It is not possible to set a left or right spacing in a way that it is
reflecting the "inner" or "outer" alignment of the frame: Either you have no
spacing at all, or you have spacing at both sides (which breaks "inner" or
"outer" alignment to the amount of spacing specified).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73222] EDITING: Copy and paste values with formulas/cell formated as date

2014-01-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73222

Hi. Investigations under libO 4.2.0.1 rc1 on Win7 :

- on my (english) system, the format of 02-01-2014 is "number", not "date"
neither "text" ; explanation in Tools/Options/Language Settings/Language, set
to "D/M/Y;D/M;D-M" : not "D-M-Y", so OK. Is it the same in your "language
dependant" settings ?
- I admit tha "number" is a questionnable choice, it should have been "text"
("number" only if the text is a well-formed number).
- the function VALUE(x) waits a "text" argument (see online doc), so it rightly
fails in "=value(A1)" in cell B1 containing "Err:502". Do you confirm ?
- no place in LibO documentation suggests that a cell in error should contain
in background the offending content, so the copy/paste from B1 to C1 had no
chance to result in a "date" or "number" format. The copy/paste special (value
only) rightly results in a blank cell.

IMHO, the current (and only) bug resides in the bad automatic formatting of
02-01-2014.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73118] After some actions, Writer rearrange text so it is hard to read

2014-01-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Hi

Here are my investigations, under LibO 4.2.0.1 rc1 on Win7 :
- when you say "no more space between the words", I understand "no more <.>
representing a space with non-printing characters ON, between the words".
- It seems to me that the spaces are always present, but their <.> absent
(Bug). Steps to prove it :
° in a new writer doc, insert a 1x1 table,
° fill it with a sentence of 1 or 2 lines (ipsum lorem...),
° turn "displaying non-printing characters" on,
° slowly insert blanks between the first two words (waiting some seconds
between each), and look at the <.>
° in my system, I see some <.> disappearing and re-appearing from their
own.

The fact that words look too close is a characteristic of small zoom/small
fonts.

2 bugs in one file. Please open a second file for the finder coloring the
previous word too.

Surely LibreOffice shouldn't be interacting with the WM in this way?! The only
practical way I have of running LibreOffice is to use Winswitch at the moment

Yes, spaces are always present, they just look as they are not. Just maximizing
the window rearranges the characters and spaces are again visible. With no
changing the size of the fonts, so characteristic of small zoom/small fonts is
not an issue in my opinion.

With the test I did not noticed any disappearing and re-appearing of dots (non
printing characters) while slowly insert blanks between the first two words

Effectively it doesn't freeze, it just would take a day or two to complete ;-)

@Kohei:
Problem is a large multi_type_vector result matrix (entire column, 1048576
rows) of a jump matrix. The result matrix is initialized to error values
(needed in case interpret ends prematurely due to errors encountered) i.e.
double values. Subsequent string results each lead to the initial block being
shrunk by one and a string appended to a (first time inserted new) block. All
together a significant overhead.

Called from sc/source/core/tool/interpr1.cxx ScInterpreter::JumpMatrix() line
570 via pResMat->PutString(aStr, nC, nR) on master in this case.

Could this problem be caused because Libre is not using its own open dialog
boxes?

A quick fix is to use the Round function, so somewhere precision is getting
lost.

e.g. Round(H4 + I4 - J4, 2) give 0.00

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73370] New: Spacing of words containing ligatures break up - regression?

2014-01-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73370

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 73370
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Spacing of words containing ligatures break up -
regression?
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: zrlas...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.4.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: When formatting words containing ligatures with the Linux
Libertine G font and any style other than normal, ligatures shift to the left
or right touching or overlapping the neighboring characters.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a Writer document
2. Type any word containing ligatures such as ffi, fj, gy, fi, etc. Ligatures
should be preceded by at least one character! Sample text: "afia maffia ifja
shaggy agy"
3. Format the text with the Linux Libertine G font. Change style to italic,
bold or bold italic. See what happens.

Current behavior: changing the font style to italic, bold or bold italic will
break up the even spacing of characters inside a word - it will move the
ligature horizontally to the left or right related to their expected position.

Expected behavior: ligatures should not affect horizontal character spacing
inside a word at all, regardless of their style. It worked before (no such
problems since 3.4.0 until now), so I consider it a REGRESSION. Linux Libertine
is one of the best looking fonts shipped with LibO having the most OpenType and
Graphite features much needed in many environments, therefore severity is at
least normal or more than that.
