[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75256] Sifr icon theme is highly incomplete

2014-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75256

@tommy27: I hope you understand the difference between this bug and the one you
added to “See also”, that way you’ll get why that one is *trackable* in a
Bugzilla and this one is not. This report, if reopened, may be open forever, as
it’s too broad and one could argue on the level of completeness the theme is on
to set this bug’s status — that’s not clearly defined, so it’s not trackable.

As Cor said: “Setting ‘New’ while we know people work on it and they did not
ask for the issue, makes little sense”.

Can we stop this offtopic now?

well. Please decide a similar issue with files of RTF format, if you have the

Hi Cor, I respectfully disagree again.
users asked for it and this makes sense.
if there's people actively working to complete the theme so the issue should be
labeled as ASSIGNED

> Works for me... tooo early.
> Notabug maybe ..

a theme which is incomplete is a bug, even if considered minor or trivial, but
still a bug.

Controls like checkboxes could -if anchored to cells- a "bit better" anchored

Zooming of a table could "a bit better" initialise a zooming of the controls

to zoom the sheet "in whole".

The elementary properties position, anchor, related cells that are to edit

The copying of controls from one table to another could be a bit better.

If a comment is stored inside a cell normally I can show this comment by using
the context menu for the cell. When there is a mail adress or hhtp adress
stored as content in the cell the option to display the comment will not shown
anymore in the context menu. In previous relased is was displayed. The problem
is that it is not possible to see the comment anymore except hovering over the
cell.
The workaround I found is to remove formatting from the cell (clear
formatting).

I now have LO version 4.2.1.1 installed on Kubuntu 14.04 and I repeated my test
to see if the "Question Mark" still existed before the start of a video using
Impress. Unfortunately, it is still present but it now lasts about half the
time. I counted the number of frames using Avidemux on a converted video file
made by RecordMyDesktop.

The Question Mark on LO Impress 4.2 lasts 43 frames
The Question Mark on LO Impress 4.2.1 lasts 26 frames.

I know a lot of improvements have been made with 4.2.1, however I cannot use it
until this "Question Mark" is removed.

My reason for wanting this fixed ASAP is that I use my Laptop for projection on
a regular basis. Because of the quality of my presentations, I am used in
preference to those who use Power Point on a MS Windows system. I use every
opportunity to quietly demonstrate the capabilities of Linux. The lates version
of LO does not help in this regard.

The behaviour has changed in version 4.2.1.1. Deleting a sheet and saving no
longer removes comments.

On the other hand, when you copy a sheet containing comments so that it is put
somewhere before the original page, and save and close the document, the
comments in the original page are gone when you open it again. This is perhaps
a related but different bug.

Hi

On Linux some of the Libreoffice applications are not installed by default. For
example in the Ubuntu Gnome install, Libreoffice Base and Math are not
installed. This depends on the distribution and how they choose to package
Libreoffice.

I also have an install of Libreoffice on a Windows machine. Previously I had
Libreoffice 4.1.4 installed with only Writer, Calc, Impress and Draw (custom
install). When I installed 4.2.1 on the same system, I selected the custom
install and I noticed that again I only had Writer, Calc, Impress and Draw but
no Base or Math. This could also result in the problem I mentioned in my
initial bug report.

The workflow that one wants to select hidden cells, really seems the exception

thanks for the clear description and use case.

Sounds fine, as long as that does not interfere with the behaviour of Enter as
OK.

Does the same, IMO.

defective "save as.." window

Hi. First of all thanks for all your efforts.
Maybe this issue is related to Bug 74295, well it sounds similar at least.

With the recent versions (4.2.0.4 and 4.2.1.1) i am no more able to save
documents as it was possible in the past. It's weird but LibreOffice doesn't
even allow me to click in that „filename“ field nor use the buttons „save“ and
„cancel“ with the mouse. Only way to get there is the tab-button.
Also there are some functions missing on the "save as.." window such as the
file-type selection (see screenshot). These new versions produced severe
crashes and freezes up to 25 min. on my PC, unfortunately no dumps and no
entries in event viewer.

New installation of OS and de-re-installation or repair of LibreOffice did not
help. I then re-installed version 4.0.2 and everything was as usual again.
It seems only XP is affected, 4.2.0.4 and 4.2.1.1 works fine with Win7.
Any idea what's wrong ? XP is my favourite working environment.
Thanks in advance

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75413] New: formatting bullets

2014-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75413

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 75413
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: formatting bullets
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: peterbmetc...@live.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Neither Libre nor the older (2008?) MS Office has decent bullet control. Have
you ever tried using it? When interrupting a bulleted format, then resuming, it
is next to impossible to duplicate what was done earlier. Clicking the indent
button moves not the entire text with the bullet, but moves the bullet in the
opposite direction as the arrow indicator on the button. Hitting the bullet
toggle during a search for an indent issue sometimes resolves it, but
generally, controlling the location of the bullets and their distance from the
text is a major headache - sometimes completely unresolvable. Why not simply
have the bullets (using the buttons of course) CONSISTENTLY go to the same
place, with the same indent? Then when using an indent button or hitting tab,
having the bullets CONSISTENTLY go to the same location, CONSISTENTLY using the
next bullet design indicating a lower and lower priority? I have tried using
the formatting button on the tool bar, but of course - it gives totally
different spacing results. Keeping track of which routine to use that itself is
inconsistent is hopeless due to inconsistency in the outcomes. Seems random at
times. You are not alone in this problem - MS Word, as I mentioned - what a
nightmare!
Thanks

PS Your Attachment, Browse, and Don't Add An Attachment buttons don't work
consistently either:
>The Add Attachment button brings up a Browse button, but the typical procedure
>for email does not work here.
>Hitting the Don't Add an Attachment button reaps different results too after
>going back and forth
>>Worst of all: Your form clears the formatting, which I thought was the whole

A much simpler solution would be to have one white Sifr set and one black Sifr
set for HC themes, and have LibreOffice decide which one to use based on the
colors in the theme.

I don't see a need to recolor the icons dynamically -- black or white should
always give the highest contrast.

I do not agree with the INVALID status.

If we say the icon theme is incomplete and needs someone to add missing icons
then the status should be NEW.

Asking to complete the icon theme in it's missing parts is a valid request.

IMHO the status should be NEW.

Sadly, Sift is still not “dynamic” (recolored by software so it looks good

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75376

@Stuart

Please understand I am not trying to be difficult, and I am not trying to
offend you, I am trying to point out that all of the confusion in the comments
in this bug are of your own making.

1. As far as I can see and my testing shows, it is *any* document that
has *any* fields in it, so, no, it is *not* a 'corner case', and

2. Again you miss my point, that you made two mistakes when you closed
   this bug:

 a) closing as WORKS FOR ME was simply plain wrong, because it
did/does *not* work in the reported version (4.2.1), which
yourself confirmed - so, you should have chosen FIXED as
the result, not WORKS FOR ME, and

 b) you should have said it was fixed in 4.2+, NOT 4.3+

The comments are confusing because YOU MADE CONFUSING COMMENTS and selected an
INCORRECT RESULT when you closed the bug.

For the default fill? That is a design preference. Personally, I agree with
you that objects should be unfilled (and always with a black [out]line).

If they do choose to fill it by default, it should at least be with a
reasonable AND defined color. Blue seems reasonable... but an undefined one is
just wrong... it would be like making the default font in Writer be something
undefined and unavailable.

It is incredible this is still "broken"! Isn't it a trivial code/template
change to fix the color to something defined for fill and change the line color
to black?

@Charles,

Charles, again it is a corner case. Most certainly is NOT a "CRITICAL" case. We
don't even know where the document came from. And considering that it opens
correctly in 4.2.0.4 and earlier, in current 4.2.2 (aka 4.2.3+ in TB42) and
master, as well as in AOO and MS Office 2010 following "correction".

YES...it is an issue in 4.2.1.1 release--but that is the extent of it.

There was just no point in keeping the issue open as can be seen by the random
postings--it is confusing.

The ESC has decided there will be no 4.2.1.2 final release, the next will be
4.2.2rc and final(s) there. Period!

That is why I resolved it WORKSFORME, you could have done the same because we
do not know what (if anything) caused the problem--or what commit has fixed it
with subsequent builds.

Hi Gabriel, in the future there will be "non-installed applications" since LO
will install everything. so NOTABUG

I'm confused, on OSX no selection as well, so is this only Linux?

On linux can users select components?! i don't think so, but might be wrong.

Can we elaborate what is being discussed here? Setting to Linux only.

I assume we should change title to "disallow de-selecting LO components on
Linux"?

@paulo

No offense, but why would you bother reporting that you don't see the bug on an
EARLIER VERSION THAT THE BUG REPORTED SPECIFICALLY SAID DOES NOT EXHIBIT THE
PROBLEM???

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75408] New: Formula in writer is shrinked instead of keeping same size when changing border space in writer style

2014-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75408

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 75408
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Formula in writer is shrinked instead of keeping same
size when changing border space in writer style
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: pierre.choffar...@free.fr
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.1.1 rc
 Component: Formula Editor
   Product: LibreOffice

1 Create a new formula in writer for example 1+1=1
2 chose modify frame style named formula in stylist (F11)
3 choose tab border, add a border and change border spacing from 0 to 0,5cm
4 OK

--> The fromula frame as the same size and the forumula is shrinked so you
can't see it (LO 4.2.1.1)

expected behavior :
The formula frame is increased buy 0,5cm in each direction, and the formula
keep the same size (LO 4.1.5)

So it's a regression

Report that separately. This bug, as described in its summary, is fixed. Don’t
