first, a small error occured on args2(2).Value
needed to change to

--> strange ! btw, not the problem ?

executing the given code, the Annotation is created, with correct text. The not
does not have the focus (hidden comment)

wild guess, provide correct args2() dimension ?
dim args2(2) as new com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue

problem not reproductible at this stage for me

- The original file is prepared in MS office 2007.

not be higlighted.
- No proper pattern is identified.

--- Comment #3 from sergio.calleg...@gmail.com ---
Actually, I am on 4.2.4.2. In the bug report I filled in the first version of
LibO in which the bug appeared.

Tested with LibO from libreoffice.org to make sure it was not due to ubuntu
build.

As mentioned, bug appearance depends on the combination of DPI and icon size
you use, which is why you may not be able to see it. The point is that LibO 4.1
never showed this issue at any DPI and icon size and does not show the issue
when run on the same machine, with the same config.

I am making the bug visible with a couple of screenshots. The attached picture
is a montage of two screenshots made with the print screen functionality.
Montage is done with imagemagick to assure that the images are aligned to the
pixel. Montage is then imported into an image editor itself, in order to add a
couple of horizontal and vertical red lines that help noticing the skew in the
drawing canvas positioning due to the different toolbar height.

Specifically, screenshot A is taken with line and filling toolbar, screenshot B
after selecting text in order to make the text formatting toolbar substitute
the line toolbar and filling. Screenshots A and B are then mounted as

A B
B

This lets both the horizontal and the vertical alignments be checked. Red
reference lines are placed around the toolbar and at the edges of the letter
'T' in the drawing canvas.

As evident, the text formatting toolbar is two pixels taller than the line and
formatting toolbar. As a result, when the text is selected and the text
formatting toolbar appears, the text itself jumps down two pixels, when text is
deselected, the text jumps back up two pixels.

Now, two pixels may seem like nothing. But when you are trying to do precision
aliments and you frequently alternate text and non text selections, having the
image moving up and down even by two pixels is an issue that makes you go back
to LibO 4.1 immediately, regardless of the other advantages that LibO 4.2 may
have.

When loading table in librewriter (3.5.7.2) all I get is a table full of

writing in the table is invisible. I've tried removing via

to no avail. Hopefully, there is a simple answer to this issue and thanks in

saving as docx. The other formats are not lost.

Ubuntu 14.04 x64
LibreOffice 4.2.4.2 release
LibreOffive 4.3 built Wed May 14 14:34:42 2014 +0200

Marking as NEW and updating title

@Marc C - if you can just confirm the above, if you're still seeing total loss
(including center and bold) then we'll have to go from there. Thanks!

Also - can confirm that this is a regression
Works on 3.3, will attempt to bibisect now

Technically major (loss of format - loss of data)
Leaving as medium - doesn't seem to be a big deal if it's only boolean being
lost. Would be nice if someone could poke at other formatting setings

I can confirm the bug. The latest stable Mac OS X build is affected:
Version: 4.1.6.2
Build ID: 40ff705089...

>
> But as I only have learned British English in the past: Would you be so kind
> to attach a test document to this bug, please?

You can reproduce the problem by creating a new document and typing some
garbage. The spell checker can find no problem and it always reports "Spell
check complete."

The spell checker behaves exactly the same when you change the document
language to "None" as when you change it to "English (Australian)".

> I get "color" marked as wrong here. Could you confirm, that it is wrong in
> Australian English?

Australian English is the same as British English (ignoring idioms). "Color" is
the U.S. spelling. In Australia and the U.K. the spelling is "colour".

So one workaround is to switch the default language to English (U.K.) in
settings. But changing the default may not help for documents already saved
with language "English (Australian)".

Thank you for reporting this enhancement request! I can confirm that this is a
valid enhancement request on:
Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 84862db95a5e22b9ef89baa2a8a5deeffefbdef6

As I've been able to confirm the enhancement request I am marking as:

New (confirmed)
Enhancement
Low - incredibly hard to accomplish and there are workarounds already (any
professional should know that encrypting disk is best). Also this will add
complications for interoperability.

Note: Enhancements are accepted by volunteers almost exclusively, because this
one is a huge and substantial change - it is my guess that it's unlikely to be
taken on any time soon. If you believe that this will really benefit that many
professionals, maybe you can secure the funds to pay a developer to take this
on (that would be fantastic)

Removed: security - this is really only used for security bugs, not for
enhancement requests

I just tested this and cannot reproduce.

Ubuntu 14.04
LibreOffice 4.2.4.2 release

Marking as WFM.

@bugquestcontri - this must be specific to your system, either you're using a
mini or something that has some funky resolution or something else strange
going on. If you are convinced that it's a bug please give us more information
about your system (including screen size, resolution, video card) and then mark
the bug as UNCONFIRMED.

Thanks

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78209] BASIC: Race condition in FilePicker dialog methods, an perhaps other dialogs

2014-05-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78209

I was request to provide a simple reproducable test case as an exampe for a
related problem. I have proactively done the same for this bug report. I have
also updated the associated document which was streamlined.

Problem description:

After making a call to setDisplayDirectory(), the call to
getDisplayDirectory() should return the new directory value. If the “get...”
call is made too quickly, the correct value is not returned. It is possible
that other similar race conditions exist. Given the behavior, it is possible
that this is also related to bug 43021.

How to reproduce the problem:
=
1. In LibreOffice, open Tools --> Options; in the LibreOffice – General tab
ensure that “Use LibreOffice dialogs” is unchecked.

2. In LibreOffice, open Tools --> Macros --> Organize Macros --> pick any
module to edit

3. Type (or cut/paste) the following program in to the empty “Sub” of your
choice (Main will do):

Dim oDialog'FilePicker dialog
Dim vBefore'value before call to setDisplayDirectory
Dim vAfter'value after call.
Dim s'tmp string for creatint output
oDialog = CreateUnoService("com.sun.star.ui.dialogs.FilePicker")
Print "setDisplayDirectory --> /tmp"'pick any reasonable directory.
vBefore = oDialog.getDisplayDirectory()'Before
oDialog.setDisplayDirectory(ConvertToURL("/tmp"))
REMWait 500'This line makes it work
vAfter  = oDialog.getDisplayDirectory()'After
s = s & "getDisplayDirectory before = [" & vBefore & "] " & Chr$(10)
s = s & "getDisplayDirectory after  = [" & vAfter & "]  " & Chr$(10)
MsgBox s, 0

4. Run this Macro, getDisplayDirectory() fails

5. Edit the Macro to remove the 'REM' in front of the 'Wait” statement

6. Run the Macro again, getDisplayDirectory() works correctly

Current behavior:
=
Without the “Wait” statement, getDisplayDirectory() returns an empty string.
With the “Wait” statement, getDisplayDirectory() returns the correct directory
(“file:///tmp”).

Using the Libreoffice dialog style appears to work correctly.

Expected behavior:
==
With or without a wait (or code) following the call to setDisplayDirectory(),
getDisplayDirectory() should return (“file:///tmp”).

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: 3o...@notsharingmy.info
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.4.2 release
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

Impossible to create a document.odt starting from a given template.ott using
the shell script libreoffice with the --headless option
Steps to reproduce:
1. With LO, make a simple template.ott, even a blank one
2. Open a terminal and execute one of the following three commands
2.1. $ libreoffice --headless /path/to/template.ott
2.2. $ libreoffice --headless -n /path/to/template.ott
2.3. $ libreoffice --headless --convert-to odt /path/to/template.ott

3.Execute
 $ file ~/template.odt

Current behavior:
2.1. the command hangs
2.2. the command hangs

2.3. you get the message
convert /home/user/template.ott -> /home/user/template.odt using OpenDocument
Text Flat XML

3. you get
template.odt: XML document text
that is, you have got a .fodt document (a plain xml) despite the .odt suffix

Expected behavior:
one would get an OpenDocument Text, that is a zipped archive

This expected behaviour would conform to the LO headless conversion to ods from
a template.ots: it creates an OpenDocument Spreadsheet, not an XML document
text

(In reply to comment #3)
As requested, here is a much simpler example.

Problem description:

Currently there is no overall consistency for FilePicker and FolderPicker
behavior on LibreOffice. It varies by error conditions, operating system, and
configuration choices. A valuable enhancement would be to change the behavior
so that the operation is consistent to the extent possible. The following steps
show a single example of this in a Linux environment.

It would also be helpful if the setDisplayDirectory() call could return an
error when it encounters directories that are not accessible or other errors.
In this way the program could take appropriate action in the face of errors.

Dim oDialog'FilePicker dialog
oDialog = CreateUnoService("com.sun.star.ui.dialogs.FilePicker")
Print "setDisplayDirectory --> /tmp/NoSuchFile"'File/Directory does not
exist
oDialog.setDisplayDirectory(ConvertToURL("/tmp/NoSuchFile"))
oDialog.Execute()
Print "setDisplayDirectory --> /home/lost+found"'Directory exists but is
protected
oDialog.setDisplayDirectory(ConvertToURL("/home/lost+found"))
oDialog.Execute()

4. Run this Macro to see the behavior with the System dialog styles.

5. In LibreOffice, open Tools --> Options; in the LibreOffice – General tab
ensure that “Use LibreOffice dialogs” is checked

6. Run the Macro again to see the behavior with the LibreOffice dialog styles.

Current behavior:
=
-- Using System dialogs, “/tmp/NoSuchFile” generates no error and then leaves
the user in “/tmp”

-- Using System dialogs, “/home/lost+found” generates no error and then leaves
the user in “/home/lost+found”, even though the contents of this directory are
completely protected (no rwx access).

-- Using LibreOffice dialogs, “/tmp/NoSuchFile” generates a user error and then
leaves the user in “/home//Documents”.

-- Using LibreOffice dialog, “/home/lost+found” generates a specific user
error and then leaves the user in “/home//Documents”.

Desired behavior:
=
As can be seen with this simple test case, the behavior across all 4 examples
is very different.

To the extent possible and practical, all behavior should have consistent
across OS supported (Linux, Windows, MacOS), choice of dialog (System,
LibreOffice), and error conditions (e.g. protected and missing directories).
For example, all behavior could follow the LibreOffice dialog models.

Hopefully this provides the simpler example that you were looking for. Did you
mean "User Experience" team when you made reference to "UX"? I will defer to
your judgement on where to best deal with this enhancement request. In
researching how to provide feedback, enhancement requests, and bugs I did not
run across any way to contact the UX team. I would follow up if you point me in
the right direction.

The case for developers to look at this now is that I believe that there is
activity on what could be a related bug (43021), so a partial step towards
consistency would still be a good thing.

I have updated the document to streamline things a bit and put the simple
Bugzilla examples at the front, with further analysis and screen shots towards
the back for those that need it. I will upload this new version. This could
provide a good starting point for the UX team as it considers the broader
implementation of this enhancement (should they take up the request).

I will also update 78209 along the lines of your request as well. Let me know
if this format is better suited to your process.

It happens to adjacent cells in a column. The content of cells below is
replaced by the content of the first cell of such range, which contains only
macro function formulas. If an empty cell or a cell with other content is
between two macro function formulas, then the exchange does not happen.

The exchange happens too, when you open the file "read only" and force
recalculate using F9.

Because loosing the cell content is a data loss, I think it is a severe error.

It is a LibreOffice error. AOO works fine.

Sample sheet for testing data sort with comment in empty cell

After a data sort (sort rows with the box "range contains column labels"
ticked) executed on the sample file, the comment in the empty cell C6 does not
move to C2 as would be expected but stays in C6. The comment in cell C3 (with
data) however correctly moves to C5.

2014-05-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78982

What's the deal with the "Version" field?

Bugzilla says that "Version" is supposed to be the earliest version known to
contain the bug. However bug-assistant at
https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/ seems to use a different convention:
It sets Version in the bug to the "Latest Known Working Version" (as input to
the assistant), and apparently ignores the "Version the Bug Appeared".

Demo spreadsheet

Problem description: If a formula cell is selected and the border dragged up or
down over multiple columns, and the covered cells are empty, then the formula
is not pasted into the cells. However if the border is dragged only over a
single adjacent cell (in the previous or following row), then it works.

This is a regression from 4.2.5.0.0

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the attached "FormaulaCopyProblem.ods" file
2. Select E7 and drag the box up to cover E1 through E6

Current behavior: Nothing happens

Expected behavior: The formula in E7 should be copied into E1:E6 with
appropriate relative-address adjustments.

@Joel Madero:
Thank you for the bug confirmation and for provided recommendations.

@Thomas Lutz:
I am using Kubuntu 14.04 LTS. This is how I downgraded LO to 4.1.6.2:

# Install LO PPA for 4.1:
add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-4-1
apt-get update

# Remove LO 4.2
apt-get purge libreoffice-*

# Install LO 4.1.6.2, according to "apt-cache showpkg libreoffice"
# the version is "1:4.1.6-0ubuntu1~trusty1~ppa1", to replace LO:

sudo apt-get install libreoffice-common=1:4.1.6-0ubuntu1~trusty1~ppa1
libreoffice-base=1:4.1.6-0ubuntu1~trusty1~ppa1
libreoffice-base-core=1:4.1.6-0ubuntu1~trusty1~ppa1
libreoffice-calc=1:4.1.6-0ubuntu1~trusty1~ppa1

libreoffice-help-en-us=1:4.1.6-0ubuntu1~trusty1~ppa1

python3-uno=1:4.1.6-0ubuntu1~trusty1~ppa1
libreoffice-style-human=1:4.1.6-0ubuntu1~trusty1~ppa1
libreoffice-kde=1:4.1.6-0ubuntu1~trusty1~ppa1

# Please notice "libreoffice-kde" package, which I believe
# should be replaced by another one related to your DE.

# To prevent updating LO from 4.1.6.2 to 4.2 use:
apt-mark hold libreoffice-*

# To remove the hold and update LibreOffice:
apt-mark unhold libreoffice-*
apt-get upgrade

--
Probably this is not the best way to downgrade, but at least it does not break
any dependencies and you always can update LibreOffice. I hope it will help
you.

Maybe there is a matter with splwow64.exe, looking in the net for:
splwow64.exe hotfix windows 7
there are a lot of links related to, e.g.:

I did
$ cd /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/
$ gdb ./soffice.bin 2>&1 | tee /tmp/gdb.log

then
backtrace
as mentioned there :

I just attached a document that causes this error in LibreOffice Version:
4.2.3.3
Build ID: 420m0(Build:3) on Ubuntu 14.04 x64.

Not sure if its appropriate to reopen this old bug but it appears to be the
exact same error.

I'm happy to help in any way I can.

What does the error even mean?

2014-05-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 78978
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FORMCONTROLS: Checkbox groups are not correctly
handled in .xls file
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: gattomarco...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.4.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 99428
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=99428&action=edit
Source Document

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the attached source file (checkbox-sample.xls) with MSOffice2003. Tick
the checkboxes. since they belong to different groups are separately selectable
(error_checkbox_xls-01.jpg).
2. Open the attached source file (checkbox-sample.xls) with LibreOffice (from
3.6.x to 4.2.4). Tick the checkboxes. The selection is mutually exclusive as if
they belonged to a single group. When you select one of them the others are
deselected.
In sequence: error_checkbox_xls-02.jpg > error_checkbox_xls-03.jpg

Current behavior:
Checkboxes must be considered in separated groups

Expected behavior:
All checkboxes in the sheet are treated as a single group

Operating System: All
Version: 4.2.4.2 release

Bugy Version: 4.2.3~rc3-0ubuntu2
Platform: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
DE: Unity

@Antony: Thanks for providing the last working version 4.1.6.2!!! You just made
my day!

@Joel Madero: You are also using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Can you provide me with
information on how to "officially downgrade" libreoffice?

Here is how I "fixed" my system:

# --- remove libreoffice
# apt-get purge libreoffice
# apt-get purge libreoffice-*
#
# --- make shure no libreoffice packages are installed - must NOT return any
results
# aptitude search libreoffice | grep -v -e '^v' | grep -v -e '^p'

TEMP_FOLDER="/tmp/libreoffice_downgrade"

mkdir -p $TEMP_FOLDER
cd $TEMP_FOLDER

wget

# unpack deb archives

# change to install dir
cd Libre*_deb/DEBS

# check what deb files are installed
ls -la *.deb

# install
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
