   Summary: EDITING: ms excel 開啟時,呈現唯讀
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: s85b1...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Created attachment 106706
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=106706&action=edit
ms office open file screen

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. ms excel 2000 Save > 工具 > 一般選項 > 建議唯讀 打勾
2. 使用ms excel 2000 open file
3. 會跳出視窗,選擇"否",即可編輯文件
4. 使用Libreoffice open file
5. 直接進入唯讀模式,不可編輯文件

Current behavior:
如果需要編輯,只有使用 ms excel 來編輯。

Expected behavior:
如果有唯讀選項,也可在開啟前或開啟後,用來可以解除,方便編輯文件。

> Problem description:
> Scroll arrow buttons in the horizontal scroll bar appear in reverse (left
> arrow on the right side and vice versa). I'm using a Hebrew RTL interface.

I tried enabling the RTL interface, but couldn't reproduce the problem either
with/without RTL enabled.

Questions:
- Does the bug exist in LO 4.3.1 (or any earlier versions) ?
- Does the bug only appear in the RTL interface?

(After you've answered the questions, please feel free to change the bug status
back to 'UNCONFIRMED')

Thanks!

IIRC, the A* page sizes are based on doubling:
A4 * 2 = A3
A3 * 2 = A2

So a sheet of A2 printed out on A4 paper should come out as 4 sheets, right?
Not sure about the 9-page number, although that might be related...?

LO 4.3.1.2: Prints to a 4 page document
LO 4.3.2.1: Prints to a 1 page document

As Jacques mentions, knowing what's different between your user profile and a
new user profile would be the most helpful. As you know, the shorter the diff,
the easier it'll be for a dev to determine what's going wrong.

As snap lines can only be created when the ruler is enabled, it would be nice

Asterisks in title bars to indicate modifications are an obsolete convention
and are nonstandard, even though many programs follow it.

Also, note that adding a flickering asterisk to the title bar would be
redundant with the dot OS X adds to the Close Window button for the same
purpose.

> 2. Because, at least in Windows, the title bar is propagated to the task

Not in Windows 7’s and 8-8.1’s default configuration, where taskbar icons have
no text.

Then you should change your DPI settings, otherwise you won’t see many UI
items, not only in LibreOffice but in many other programs.

This said, our existing statusbar icon can definitely be improved.

LibreOffice cannot correctly print envelopes with the correct orientation using
the Brother MFC-8710DW. The Insert Envelope wizard appears to allow one to
choose the correct orientation (both envelope and text), but no matter what,
the print comes out perpendicular to the envelope.

The MFC-8710DW requires that A10 envelopes be fed the long way from end-to-end
(=), as opposed to from top-to-bottom(||). The Insert Envelope wizard
indicates that this can be done, but no matter what, the text is printed as if
the envelope was inserted from top-to-bottom (i.e., perpendicular to the
envelope).

I can confirm this Bug on Arch Linux
Version: 4.2.6.3
Build ID: 4.2.6.3 Arch Linux build-4

This has been happening to me with new presentations.
I'm throwing together a presentation in Impress
and I'm using this Google Images file of as a placeholder (Perseid meteor
shower)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7q1i4T96t6eaW9SdnpqMTZOVFE/edit?usp=sharing
and its disappeared, replaced with an image icon.

The presentation is in a subdirectory of my home folder. This image is within
an images directory:
- 644 my_presentation.odp
+ 755 images
|-- 644 perseids_bruenjes_big.jpg

I've been dealing with this problem by reinserting the missing images and
saving immediately. Files saved with all the images visible have been opening
with the images visible subsequently. In other words, the images don't
bork--for me--when the file is opened.

What about we completely remove the old Elements panel from the codebase? We’ve
now shipped three major releases with both the old and new panels, which is not
only redundant, but confusing as hell.

Now the old panel has even been converted to .ui by Caolán, which is a waste of
his time, this should have been removed long ago. All (but two) major bugs in
the new panel are fixed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84202] New: CONFIGURATION: I can't customize the persona theme.

2014-09-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84202

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 84202
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: CONFIGURATION: I can't customize the persona theme.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: brando...@live.com.mx
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.0.4 release
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

I was adding some Impress templates to the extensions manager, but that is not
the problem, I wanted to reset LibreOffice configurations because of some
problems I had trying to delete some templates, so I simply deleted a folder in
/home/(user)/.config/libreoffice then, I reopened LibreOffice and when I wanted
to change my persona theme I couldn't do it. I've been trying to change some
configurations for weeks, but without success...

Steps to reproduce:
1. Delete /home/(user)/.config/libreoffice folder.
2. Open LibreOffice.
3. Try to change a persona theme.
Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.3.0.4 release

After opening three LibreOffice files at once, their entry disappears (and
re-appears) in the pulldown menu, see attached picture. When an 'invisible'
entry of the pull down is selected, they may all re-appear at once or only
re-appear individually when repetively another selection is made from this
pulldown menu. After a while they remain present all the time.

Problem is seen in version 4.2.6.3 build id 420m0, 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04LTS and
appears in at least Calc and Writer (should I select version 4.2.6.2 in this
bugtracker or not?).

At this point, a Ghostscript only based conversion to bitmap (as BMP) is
rendering EPS at 300dpi. That is as good as it gets for 4.2 and 4.3 and
master. Not clear in your script sample how far zoom'd into the image you were.

Bug 81497 is open for issues of EPS vector not being retained and used for
printing to PS (or for Export to PDF), at present the pstoedit rendering of EPS
as EMF/WMF is very rough with too few vertices being generated and poor use of
arcs, cords and splines. Use of EPS vector images for PS printing was correct
through the 4.1 builds, but has gone missing. To get functional output, rename
or uninstall pstoedit.

Problem description:

Current behavior:

Tiny asterisk in status bar, hardly evident to the casual user

Expected behavior:

Something better.

I would suggest an asterisk, or double asterisk in the program title bar. This
would have several benefits over the current method:

1. When it changes, it is large enough that peripheral vision will notice a
flicker and therefore a naive user will become aware that there is such an
indicator, and any user is more likely to notice that either he needs to save
his document, or else that he accidentally unintentionally changed something.

2. Because, at least in Windows, the title bar is propagated to the task bar,
it would be evident that there is unsaved work even if the document is
minimized or otherwise not visible.

Currently, the visibility of this indicator also depends on screen size and
resolution. Maybe on a low res screen it is more evident. Not on my high-res
screen.

So, another alternative is a LARGE indicator in the status bar. On my screen
the indicator asterisk is 5x5 pixels, which is approximately 1mm in diameter on
a screen I am sitting about 1 meter away from.

I'm aware that there some concern about what 'modified' means, because it can
also refer to view state in addition to document content, or even history.
IMHO, the 'modified' flag should relate to document content. It is not even
clear to me that view state should even be saved by default. I'm a latecomer
to this party, so this has probably been argued about ad infinitum and ad
nauseum already.

Current behavior:
as above

Expected behavior:
after undoing to last saved state, 'needs saving' status should change to 'does
not need saving'

I note that there are issues relative to document content vs. view state.
IMHO, a 'needs saving' indicator should first and foremost cater to the naive
user, who will assume it relates to document content, not which sheet he viewed
last, e.g. If you really want to reflect view state, make a separate
indicator.

2014-09-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84195

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 84195
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: UI: Inconsistent behaviour "Wrap text automatically"
and "Shrink to fit cell size"
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: albrecht.muel...@astrail.de
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.6.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

The dialogue that allows to format cells shows inconsistent behaviour when
handling the options "Wrap text automatically" and "Shrink to fit cell size".

How to reproduce: Open Calc, select some cell. Open the "Format Cells" dialog
(select Format -> Cells... or press CTRL+1). Select the "Alignment" tab. Below
the "Properties" header you will find two check boxes labeled "Wrap text
automatically" and "Shrink to fit cell size". If the cell is not formatted,
both are unchecked, and both are active. Check "Wrap text automatically". This
disables the "Shrink to fit cell size" check box. Therefore you cannot change
it. Uncheck "Wrap text automatically". "Shrink to fit cell size" is now enabled
again. Check it. Wrap text automatically" remains enabled, so you can now check
it. Now both controls are checked.

It is not clear what the intended behaviour of this mechanism is: Are "Wrap
text automatically" and "Shrink to fit cell size" mutually exclusive? I saw
some cases where the text uses some smaller font when "Shrink to fit cell size"
is enabled but the text still gets truncated (see bug 84012). When a smaller
font is used more lines may fit into a cell. This effect could be used to show
the complete content. So the combination of "Wrap text automatically" and
"Shrink to fit cell size" could make sense too. On the other hand, when both
controls are checked, the text does not use a smaller font, so the state of the
"Shink to fit cell size" control seems to be ignored.

The expected behaviour should convey clearly what the intended behaviour is. If
both features are mutually exclusive then the interface should make sure that
at most one control is checked. If Calc supports a combination of both features
then there is no need to disable one of the check boxes. This is what I would
consider the better solution.

Observed with Version 4.2.6.3 on Windows 7 (64 Bit)

The non-LibreOffice dialog Ubuntu does handle it fine.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84190] New: libcmis: Wrong Password Entered For Alfresco Never Allows For Correction

2014-09-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84190

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 84190
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: libcmis: Wrong Password Entered For Alfresco Never
Allows For Correction
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: drich...@largo.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: framework
   Product: LibreOffice

There are two places where if a wrong password is entered when connecting to
Alfresco using libcmis that you cannot make a correct easily and this causes
problems with user experience.

Root cause of this failure is that LO retains your entered account/password for
the current session -- even if it's wrong.

1) When you first are making a connection to Alfresco, you are prompted for
your account name and password in order to find the "Main Repository". This
happens when you hit the refresh symbol and are prompted for your
account/password. If you enter the wrong combination it silently fails and the
user is never given notice of failure nor given a way to fix it. Work around
is to completely close LO and re-open and attempt it again.

2) If you have the Alfresco connection created as a shortcut, and enter the
wrong account or password, you get a dialog about a general IO error with no
indication of why it's failing. The wrong account or password is held in
memory until you close and reopen LO.

Proper fix would be for libcmis to report authentication failure and create a
dialog to alert user, and then give the user chances to re-enter.

This is broken in LO 4.2.X and also in 4.4 (master). Requesting please fix and
backport to previous versions.

There seem to be related bugs, but the description is not quite the same, so I
create a new one :
steps to reproduce :
 * create a new impress file
 * insert a shape (e.g. rectangle)
 * change colour fill to gradient, chose any (e.g. first)
 * change transparency to any value (e.g. 50%)

go into presentation mode -> the colour gradient filled rectangle will appear
white.

when you change the transparency to 0, the colour is show as it should during
the presentation mode.
I have played with the anti-aliasing option (bug 42836), which does not change
anything.

Location Not Possible for Excel Export
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: webd...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.6.2 release
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

This is in 4.2.6.3 Arch Linux build-4

I am in the report builder. I want to export the report as excel in 4 columns.
I cannot as I cannot put the label fields or text boxes right next to each
other. When you build the report through the wizard it lines the fields up
just fine. So if a field is 2.36 length, the next starts with x pos being
2.36.

When I attempt to manually edit the position of the fields or text boxes I get:

This operation is not allowed. The control overlaps with another one.

When, to make it export columns correct be able to align it at the same point
or "overlap it" like the wizard does. So columns come out in the spreadsheet
document.

When I am manually editing a horizontal line of fields or text boxes I can get
the first two to "overlap" or meet with no space in the middle, but after that,
no more.

Thanks for filing.
Sounds logic to me.
But basically it means starting conversion from text cells to date cells, while
you have multiple cells selected.
Not sure about possible side effects here.
@eike: can you pls comment?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77813] UnoService com.sun.star.util.PathSubstitution returns wrong value for $Work

2014-09-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77813

Note that there always (at least dating back to OOo times) have been two
different though related configuration items:

(1) /org.openoffice.Office.Paths/Paths/['Work'] is a set element of type
org.openoffice.Office.Paths:NamedPath, which, among other things, has a string
property "WritePath"

(2) /org.openoffice.Office.Paths/Variables/Work is a string property documented
as "Expanded value of "$work". Must be a valid URL."

At least on current master, (1) is the value reported by $(workdirurl) and is
the value that is changed when you edit the Options' "LibreOffice - Paths - My
Documents" entry, while (2) is the value reported by $(work). I do not know
whether that confusing state of things is by design or by mistake, but, quite
frankly, the relevant code is rather crap.

Yes, it is correct; i've wrote that only to be more precise...

> > 2) if i add a sheet (with something written on, or not, make no difference)
> > and i go to another sheet (eg, 'id pomeriggio' or 'HLW pomeriggio') and i

> Take a look at Format->Print range-> Edit . Print range is set to -none-

I know that.
But this is very confusing for users: because the print area get defined in the
new sheet, but apply to all the file, the result lead to a place where if users
add a sheet (also for mistakes, or because they need a new sheet but forget to
write something in), they get empty print, and don't understand WHY they get
empty print.

LO handle perfectly the print area, and works as expected, the trouble is that
EVERY NEW SHEET that you add to THAT file get a print area defined within,
while people are unaware of that.

I don't know why LO add a print area to new sheet, but this is at least strange
and confuse people.

I hope i was clear now...

Screenshot showing the colour chooser opening off the bottom of the screen

When attempting to change the background colour of a table cell in Libreoffice
Writer 4.4, the colour chooser (in the table toolbar) does not detect the
bottom screen edge and the majority of the colour chooser opens off screen.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open Libreoffice Writer and insert a table
2. Click within the table (the table toolbar appears at the bottom)
3. Click on the background colour icon

Expected behaviour: The colour chooser should detect the bottom of the screen
and open upwards.

Current behaviour: The colour chooser opens downward as usual and the majority
of the colour chooser is not visible.

I have attached a screenshot to show the problem.

Tested on Ubuntu Gnome 14.10 Beta & Lubuntu 14.04.

This is a regression from Libreoffice 4.2.6 and 4.3.1.

  Severity: normal

  Reporter: buraku...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.6.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
A sheet that has spaces in cells recognizes date as text. This is normal,
however when the spaces are removed via find-replace text is not converted to
the date format.
Even if text is converted to date format via format cell properties ' sign is
being placed to the beginning date in cell. Workaround is all text needs to be
copied to notepad and copied back from notepad to import the text as date.
Steps to reproduce:
1. A sheet that has spaces in beginning and/or ending of a cell that has date
as data.
2. Use find-replace to remove all spaces in the cell.
3. The cell only has date data but it is treated as text. (1st bug)
4. Use cell properties to set cell and date.
5. Cell still is text and ' sign is added to the beginning of cell data. (2nd
bug)

Current behavior:
1st bug; When all spaces is removed, the date data is still treated as text.

2nd bug; When date formatting is selected , the cell is being added ' sign and
still in text format.

Expected behavior:
1st bug; When all spaces is in a cell is removed, if the text in a cell
contains only date data, the data should be treated/formatted as date.

2nd bug; When date formatting is selected for a cell , the data in the cell if
suitable should be converted to date; and/or should be removed from anything
that makes it a text.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83738] EDITING TABLES: Can not change the cell background colour in Writer 4.4 in tables created with previous versions op LO

2014-09-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83738

I have observed similar behaviour in Writer 4.4 but when creating a new
document with a new table. The steps I took:

1. Open Libreoffice Writer 4.4
2. Insert a table
3. Select 1 or more cells and try to change the background colour

Nothing happens. If you just have the cursour in the table cell and set the
background colour the background is changed (with white border) but if
selecting the full cell or multiple cells it does not work.

If anyone thinks this is a different bug to this one, let me know and I will
open up a new bug report.
