[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81592] Bad Quality/Rendering of EPS graphics in LO 4.2 and 4.3
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81592 --- Comment #44 from V Stuart Foote --- @Jörn, *, (In reply to comment #43) > Today I tested the daily build LO 4.3.3.0.0-2014-09-22. > But it still doesn't print correctly (see "printout via LO 4.1.6.2 and newer > versions") At this point, a Ghostscript only based conversion to bitmap (as BMP) is rendering EPS at 300dpi. That is as good as it gets for 4.2 and 4.3 and master. Not clear in your script sample how far zoom'd into the image you were. Bug 81497 is open for issues of EPS vector not being retained and used for printing to PS (or for Export to PDF), at present the pstoedit rendering of EPS as EMF/WMF is very rough with too few vertices being generated and poor use of arcs, cords and splines. Use of EPS vector images for PS printing was correct through the 4.1 builds, but has gone missing. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84198] New: UI: make document modified status more obvious -- status bar
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84198 Priority: medium Bug ID: 84198 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: UI: make document modified status more obvious -- status bar Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: blic...@comcast.net Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.6.2 release Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice Problem description: Current behavior: Tiny asterisk in status bar, hardly evident to the casual user Expected behavior: Something better. I would suggest an asterisk, or double asterisk in the program title bar. This would have several benefits over the current method: 1. When it changes, it is large enough that peripheral vision will notice a flicker and therefore a naive user will become aware that there is such an indicator, and any user is more likely to notice that either he needs to save his document, or else that he accidentally unintentionally changed something. 2. Because, at least in Windows, the title bar is propagated to the task bar, it would be evident that there is unsaved work even if the document is minimized or otherwise not visible. Currently, the visibility of this indicator also depends on screen size and resolution. Maybe on a low res screen it is more evident. Not on my high-res screen. So, another alternative is a LARGE indicator in the status bar. On my screen the indicator asterisk is 5x5 pixels, which is approximately 1mm in diameter on a screen I am sitting about 1 meter away from. I'm aware that there some concern about what 'modified' means, because it can also refer to view state in addition to document content, or even history. IMHO, the 'modified' flag should relate to document content. It is not even clear to me that view state should even be saved by default. I'm a latecomer to this party, so this has probably been argued about ad infinitum and ad nauseum already. IMHO, a 'needs saving' indicator should first and foremost cater to the naive user, who will assume it relates to document content, not which sheet he viewed last, e.g. If you really want to reflect view state, make a separate indicator. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84195] New: UI: Inconsistent behaviour "Wrap text automatically" and "Shrink to fit cell size"
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84195 Priority: medium Bug ID: 84195 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: UI: Inconsistent behaviour "Wrap text automatically" and "Shrink to fit cell size" Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: albrecht.muel...@astrail.de Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.6.2 release Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice The dialogue that allows to format cells shows inconsistent behaviour when handling the options "Wrap text automatically" and "Shrink to fit cell size". How to reproduce: Open Calc, select some cell. Open the "Format Cells" dialog (select Format -> Cells... or press CTRL+1). Select the "Alignment" tab. Below the "Properties" header you will find two check boxes labeled "Wrap text automatically" and "Shrink to fit cell size". If the cell is not formatted, both are unchecked, and both are active. Check "Wrap text automatically". This disables the "Shrink to fit cell size" check box. Therefore you cannot change it. Uncheck "Wrap text automatically". "Shrink to fit cell size" is now enabled again. Check it. Wrap text automatically" remains enabled, so you can now check it. Now both controls are checked. It is not clear what the intended behaviour of this mechanism is: Are "Wrap text automatically" and "Shrink to fit cell size" mutually exclusive? I saw some cases where the text uses some smaller font when "Shrink to fit cell size" is enabled but the text still gets truncated (see bug 84012). When a smaller font is used more lines may fit into a cell. This effect could be used to show the complete content. So the combination of "Wrap text automatically" and "Shrink to fit cell size" could make sense too. On the other hand, when both controls are checked, the text does not use a smaller font, so the state of the "Shink to fit cell size" control seems to be ignored. The expected behaviour should convey clearly what the intended behaviour is. If both features are mutually exclusive then the interface should make sure that at most one control is checked. If Calc supports a combination of both features then there is no need to disable one of the check boxes. This is what I would consider the better solution. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84190] New: libcmis: Wrong Password Entered For Alfresco Never Allows For Correction
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84190 Priority: medium Bug ID: 84190 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: libcmis: Wrong Password Entered For Alfresco Never Allows For Correction Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: drich...@largo.com Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master Component: framework Product: LibreOffice There are two places where if a wrong password is entered when connecting to Alfresco using libcmis that you cannot make a correct easily and this causes problems with user experience. Root cause of this failure is that LO retains your entered account/password for the current session -- even if it's wrong. 1) When you first are making a connection to Alfresco, you are prompted for your account name and password in order to find the "Main Repository". This happens when you hit the refresh symbol and are prompted for your account/password. If you enter the wrong combination it silently fails and the user is never given notice of failure nor given a way to fix it. Work around is to completely close LO and re-open and attempt it again. 2) If you have the Alfresco connection created as a shortcut, and enter the wrong account or password, you get a dialog about a general IO error with no indication of why it's failing. The wrong account or password is held in memory until you close and reopen LO. Proper fix would be for libcmis to report authentication failure and create a dialog to alert user, and then give the user chances to re-enter. This is broken in LO 4.2.X and also in 4.4 (master). Requesting please fix and backport to previous versions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I want to export the report as excel in 4 columns. I cannot as I cannot put the label fields or text boxes right next to each other. When you build the report through the wizard it lines the fields up just fine. So if a field is 2.36 length, the next starts with x pos being 2.36. When I attempt to manually edit the position of the fields or text boxes I get: This operation is not allowed. The control overlaps with another one. When, to make it export columns correct be able to align it at the same point or "overlap it" like the wizard does. So columns come out in the spreadsheet document. Print range is set to -none- > Change it to -entire sheet- and preview is here. I know that. LO handle perfectly the print area, and works as expected, the trouble is that EVERY NEW SHEET that you add to THAT file get a print area defined within, while people are unaware of that.
