https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68071 Ulrich Windl ulrich.wi...@rz.uni-regensburg.de changed: What|Removed |Added CC||ulrich.wi...@rz.uni-regensb ||urg.de --- Comment #13 from Ulrich Windl ulrich.wi...@rz.uni-regensburg.de --- Actually I don't quite understand the issue: The non-printing characters discussed are not non-printing characters, but formatting marks (well-printable characters (in the sense of isprint()). As you can turn on and off display of formatting marks, I don't quite see the issue, especially if the text in question can be blue anyway. I have the impression it was done, because it could be done, but not because it was necessary or reasonable. What about really unprintable characters (those that are requested but missing in the fonts available)? https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84975 Bug ID: 84975 Summary: UI Comment popups have transparent background when desktop effects with OpenGL are turned on Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.3.1.2 release Hardware: Other OS: Linux (All) Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: dan...@tamm-tamm.de Created attachment 107805 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=107805action=edit Example of comment when mouse is hovered over the cell Comments in spreadsheets are shown with transparent background and without border when hovering over a cell containing a comment and desktop effects with OpenGL 2.0 are switched on. Only the text itself has an opaque background, the rest of the box is transparent. This makes it difficult to distinguish the comment from the surrounding content. Switching off desktop effects solves the problem. Also choosing Show Comment from the cell's context menu shows the comment with border, background and shadow. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68071] Editing: Non-printing Characters are Not Set Apart from Text
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68071 --- Comment #14 from Cosmin Saveanu c.save...@laposte.net --- Any solution for Mac OS X users ? According to: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.3#Solarized_blue_for_Non-printing_characters ... Non-printing Characters are shown with Solarized blue color (currently not available on Mac OSX)... It is great that, on other systems, the color of these characters was changed but I don't think this bug is really fixed until a cross-platform solution is reached. By the way, I disagree with Ulrich - this is not something that was done because it could be done: it improves user interface. Seeing spaces, tabs or end of line characters in a way that makes them less conspicuous is an enhancement that is important for some users, me included. Word has a very nice way to deal with these characters - they are shown in a smaller font and their size varies when zooming in or out of the page differently from the main text. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84979] New: Tab setting in table cells is broken when document is opened as Word 2003
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84979 Bug ID: 84979 Summary: Tab setting in table cells is broken when document is opened as Word 2003 Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: preec...@gmail.com When a document is saved as Word 2003 and closed and reopened, the tab setting in a table cell (except for the first column) will be impossible to manage by drag-and-drop tab marks on the ruler. This problem will still persist even when the document is saved as ODT. How to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a new Writer document. 2. Create a table of 2 columns. 3. Type A, tab, B, tab, and C in the cell on the 2nd column. 4. Put tab marks at 1cm and 2cm on the ruler for the text you just typed. You'll see the tab marks on the ruler above the 2nd column. 5. Save the document as Word 2003. 6. Close the document. 7. Reopen the document. 8. You'll see the tab marks on the ruler above the 1st column instead of the 2nd. The tab setting is now broken and cannot be managed using drag-and-drop. Even though you save this document as ODT, close it, and reopen it, this tab problem will still persist. Current behavior: The tab marks on the ruler appear above the first column only, no matter which column is being worked on. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55048 Jean-Baptiste Faure jbfa...@libreoffice.org changed: What|Removed |Added CC||jbfa...@libreoffice.org --- Comment #5 from Jean-Baptiste Faure jbfa...@libreoffice.org --- In fact this bug report ask for the same problem as bug 81309. It works without using absolute references in version 4.3.4.0.0+ and 4.4.0 alpha but not in versions 4.2.6, 4.1.6 and 4.0.6. Version 4.2.6 gives a result that differ from version 4.1.6 and 4.0.6. What is surprising me is that it works in 4.4.0 alpha whatever the choice made for the configuration option Update references when sorting range of cells. That said I share the decision of Pierre-Yves in comment #3 if we assume that the range A8:E32 is fixed data and the range A1:E5 is the part dedicated to the computations. Even if the range dedicated to data must evolve, for example adding rows in each subpart, then subtotals (currently E14, E23 and E32) will be moved and the references in A1:E5 must be updated accordingly. Even when absolute references are used in A1:E5 they are updated. For me still NotABug, the right way is to use absolute references when needed. Best regards. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82071] FILEOPEN: RTF font style for table of contents not retained
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82071 Miklos Vajna vmik...@collabora.co.uk changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |ASSIGNED Assignee|libreoffice-b...@lists.free |vmik...@collabora.co.uk |desktop.org | --- Comment #7 from Miklos Vajna vmik...@collabora.co.uk --- The problem is that the table of contents has a character style and also has direct character formatting. For contents inside the table of content field result, Word seems to ignore the character style and only handles direct formatting, and in case of DOCX, we do the same. The situation is a bit more complicated for RTF, as in every RTF file Writer or Word produce, in case a character style is used, the contents of the character style is duplicated after the character style usage, to support old readers, not handling character styles. This means that on import, we have to find out what direct formatting is just a duplication of the character style and what is real direct formatting. We do this already to help import performance, but in this case it also affects correctness. So the question is why the underlining is not detected as a duplicated direct formatting. If that's fixed, the underlining will go away from the TOC. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84913] Repagination on PDF export changes page number
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84913 --- Comment #9 from Darius Daniel Grigoras daniel.grigo...@movidius.com --- Indeed, with that old anonymized version that I created about two months ago for use on the OpenOffice forum, things work well. However, that did not have any hidden sections defined. Please download a sample that has hidden sections defined in the subdocuments from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vz43d9x0v1t3fxr/master_for_support.zip?dl=0 You will also find a PDF version in which the headings in the TOC are not pointed to the right page. You can now reproduce this easily. Just open the master document in which the subdocuments are already linked, click update links when asked, then updated TOC and export to PDF. You will see that repagination takes longer and that the page count in the PDF is different than the one reported in the master document before exporting to PDF. So bottom line, this page number issue is caused by the use of hidden sections and repagination. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84113] Saving a file or exporting pdf changes all timestamps in folder
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84113 --- Comment #3 from al.free.2...@gmail.com --- I see the notice this bug was closed. Without any further data from me, I certainly understand. Also somehow it appears related to my upgrading HD on my Mac, further complicating the issue. This did prompt me to do a little more testing which maybe of interest. I created a test directory and copied files into this directory. Test 1: The file copy preserved the original times stamps. I open a file with text edit and saved as new file. I also saves as .pdf file. Only the file being updated changed time stamps to the present. I proceeded to test with LibreOffice. All the time stamps were changed to the same thing the first time. I did this several times by deleting the files, re-copy to test. Test 2: I edited the file and Saved only. Only the file in question changed it's time stamp. Now I am curious. The following narrowed it down to when the issue occurs: Test 3: With file still open, I decided to use Save As to create a new file. All time stamps changed when the Save As dialog came up. I canceled the Save As dialog. The file stamps were already changed. Now, new Save As commands do not change other file time stamps after this first time. The release notes for both 4.3.2 and 4.2.6 are nearly word-for-word the same, except for the note about the 4.2.6 security fix recommending that users upgrade to 4.3.1, which is even more confusing since the other download option is 4.3.2.
