[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93719] MAILMERGE: Freezes On Step 5: Adjust Layout in OS X Or Does Not Show Preview on Windows 7

2015-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93719

--- Comment #1 from Kay Wrobel kay.wro...@gmx.net ---
I would like to add that I have tested LibreOffice 4.4.5 on the same OS X
Yosemite and Windows 7 computers, and the Wizard does not hang on Step 5 and
shows a mostly white preview frame in the right side of the right panel,
representing a page and showing the location of the Address block and where the
salutation would go on the page. That is the expected behavior.

There is a possibility that this bug is a duplicate of bug #65743
(https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65743) for LibreOffice
4.4.0, which has been flagged as verified and fixed for LibreOffice 4.4.1.

FYI Regarding the attached spreadsheet: It is not the original file that was
downloaded from referenced URL. Instead, I have copied just the data portion
into a new spreadsheet since the original file contained other sheets and also
macros and I wanted to keep the spreadsheet as clean as possible.

A workaround I've found that seems to be working consistently is to just
turn on the quickstarter feature. That causes the components to load
immediately upon login and perhaps they get priority over whatever else may
 be interfering.

Tool- Options- LibreOffice- Memory- [X] Enable systray Quickstarter

I don't have such an option. (it's, as far as I know, it's distribution
dependent if you have such a feature or not. I have OpenSUSE 13.2/Tumbleweed)

I agree that it is useful. In Impress text is only inside of text frames.
And images are separate objects. We can not insert image into text frame, it
 always remains standalone.
It is especially important when using formulas as pictures inside of text.
Each change of font (usually different comps has slightly different fonts)
 renders to corrupted slide.
Only one workaround I know: create content in Writer and insert it into
 Impress as OLE object.

How to export the document to OLE?

There is no such thing as main developer, and there are no priorities. The
Document Foundation has no paid developers at all, and you can't force
volunteers to do what they don't like. (It is true that some developers are
paid by some companies (like RedHat, Collabora and other), but then only these
companies can decide what these developers will do, not TDF). This might be
disappointing for some people, but that's the reality of the world we're living

Okay, System Requirements page updated to list all OSes for which we provide
TDF builds, including a mention of the Android Impress Remote. For other OSes
(incl. FreeBSD), I've pointed to information on the TDF wiki.

Animated gif of screen not redrawing properly

Hmm. I can reproduce using:

Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: ce0bba5fc1090caa7fb80f1bcc6ce64f67f11238
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@70-TDF, Branch:master, Time:
2015-08-19_23:36:11
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)

I actually had a bit of trouble finding split/freeze, since they've now been
moved under the View menu in the dev builds. I'll need to test on another
system, but this might be one of those bugs that is impossible to reproduce in
window managers with fancy compositors which call for additional redraws. I'm
using pure X. I'll test this again under a window manager with fancy desktop
effects later.

I've uploaded a short gif of my experience using the version mentioned above.
Note at the end, I select the cell I just typed into and you can see the
contents do show in the formula bar, but not in the actual cell. Parts of the
tooltip text also appear to stick around when the page scrolls up.

You are right Maxim. I think the world is better off without money and
companies who control us. Maybe we need to find a better way to get paid for
Free Software, and still be able to do what we like to do.

Did the Document Foundation never started a Kickstarter project? Or get
sponsors / donations from big companies. Just like a charity. Big companies,
including banks own that to us all!!

One thing that I noticed while watching the video, is that the status bar
says Hindi (which is, according to Wikipedia, written LTR). So the first
thing I would try is to open Tools-Options...-Language
Settings-Languages, and set Arabic for Complex text layout (CTL). And
also under LibreOffice Writer-Basic Fonts (CTL), make sure that the default
fonts are ones that support Arabic.

I think that this is the problem. It doesn't change to Arabic from Hindi. When I
set the Language Settings and check the complex text layout(CTL), it shows
Hindi as the default language. I Changed it to Arabic (Algeria). But in the
status bar it still says Hindi. I checked again the Options...-Language
Settings-Languages, it say A: Arabic (Algeria). This might give a clue to the
root of bug. It does change the language. But keep the default language. I have
been using version 4.4 and version 5.0.0.2 prerelease. They work great. (In

I wonder whether we really need this arrows to hide the docking areas. The same
functionality is available if you use the View-Sidebar menu.

Could we just remove this feature to hide the docking areas with the arrow
button? That would be an easy fix for this bug.

Thanks for the comment.

but actually I did not intend to get document properties or to write meaningful
code, but was trying to find a line of code that crashes LibreOffice.

I still believe we should not leave the crash as is.
at least the StarBasic should be changed so that it gives a runtime error.

I can confirm that this is still an issue in the 5.0.1 release. Package still
provided by Arch. I wasn't able to build Libreoffice without flags because of
unused variables, and I haven't had time to figure that one out.

I can also confirm that this does not happen on the same machine on Windows.

I have downloaded and installed LO 5.0.1.2, same problem as in the screenshot
above (corrupted). I have reset the user profile (after closing LO, including
quickstart), a new user profile has been created at the next launch, but the
problem is still there, same corrupted rendering. Thus, it is definitely NOT a
profile problem.
We need the hand of developers who run a native Japanese OS to get rid of this
bug, I'm afraid.

2015-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93724

Bug ID: 93724
Summary: BASE: Insert Row in Filtered Form with Date/Time
Fields results in Phantom zero date displayed instead
of null, not saved
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.1 rc
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dougt901-2...@yahoo.com

Created attachment 118240
  -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=118240action=edit
demonstration database: See Form1 and Macro

1 .In Base, you have a form, we'll call Form1. See demo attachment for
reproducing.
2. There are two defining characteristics of Form1: a.) it has an entry in
the Filter property for MainForm and b.) it has a date/time field.
3. Open Form1
4. Navigate beyond the last row of data in Form1 to the Insert Row.
5. Type Something in the bottom-most field (a text field)
6. Press the save record button or navigate back to the first row

UNEXPECTED RESULT: the date field at the top has gone from the desired
NULL/EMPTY input to a zero date which in this case is 1/1/1800.

Alternately, you can reproduce using the macro saved in the database which does
the same thing, basically. The 0-date 1/1/1800 is persistent in the Form1
recordset until it is closed (no matter if you navigate to other records) but
it is not saved to the table.

The workaround is to delete the filter on the form. However, that is a
non-obvious workaround because why would there be a connection between the way
the date is displayed and the existence of a filter on another field

  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major

 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kristofer...@poczta.fm

Hi All,
Function MATCH don't work correctly with external file.

I have two formula:

point 1. =MATCH(D3;$A$1:$A$100;0)
point 2. =MATCH(D3;'file:///C:/Users/Kris/Desktop/OPTIMA
MAGAZYN.xls'#$Lista_zasobów.$A$1:$A$1000;0)

IF I understand MATCH looking some string on cell.
On colum A i hafe for example in one cell= bla bla 871-03-1215 526E
I'm looking D3= 871-03-1215.

If I have column A and column D in one sheet everything is ok.
Problem is if i have column A in external file.
MATCH don't work (give me #N/D)

when I change manualy in external file cell= bla bla 871-03-1215 526E to cell=
871-03-1215
formula from point 2 works.

I think it is major problem.

Somebody check tis on Libre 4.4.5 and this is the same.

Best regards
Christopher

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93708] New: [Feature request] Add search bar for recently opened documents

2015-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93708

Bug ID: 93708
Summary: [Feature request] Add search bar for recently opened
documents
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.0.5 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: matthias.t...@gmx-topmail.de

Created attachment 118219
  -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=118219action=edit
Possible position of search bar

After starting Libreoffice (main) the recently opened documents are listed in
an overview. Depending on preferences the amount of files could be large.

It would be very helpful if a search bar exists on the top of the preview area,
to search for part of file names, which are in the list of the recently opened
documents. It could be also helpful to implement the asterisk (*) as
placeholder as it is used for file explorer search.

Find attached a possible position for the search bar
(2015-08-27_FeatReq_ROD_searchbar.png).

Hi,

I tried the instructions as is and they failed, I checked and my file is 5.0.0
which installs as 5.0.0.5, I changed the script and it worked. Going into
custom the install directory was still the c: drive so I changed it to the D:
drive but it still installed as usual in the c: drive I attach the zip file of
the installation.

2015-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 93709
Summary: No way to pre-define positions of sub- and superscript
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.0.5 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: udip...@gmail.com

I cannot find a method to change the predefined values for sub- and
superscript.
There are many resources that
1. complain about the unfeasible default values
2. suggest to modify the underlying format

The latter doesn't work here, since
1. there is no more text style, only paragraph style, and
2. the 'style' editing widget does not have a tab for 'position', contrary to
the Format-Character. Without that, there is no way to modify the position, at
least as far as I can make out.

The only 'workaround' is to manually format all occurrences (in my case
hundreds).

This is the bug tracking system of LibreOffice. This is the wrong place for
your question. Please use a forum or a mailing list,
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/community-support/. Because this is a
question about the capabilities of Visio, you should ask in a support forum of
Microsoft too.

For me, this is currently WFM. You have said yourself that a new install of
Lubuntu 14.04 doesn't cause the bug to happen, nor does it happen with a
self-compiled LO5.1 master, nor even with a current 5.0.0.5

At the moment, the only other thing I can think of is a window theme difference
that might have caused the initial issue. Some window themes have been known to
cause issues with various versions of LibreOffice in the past.

Setting as resolved worksforme. If you manage to find the particular settings
which cause the problem to manifest itself again, please re-open.

SVG visible in edit, not visible in presentation mode

I still have a problem with an SVG imported using 5.0.0.5: it shows in edit
mode, but not in presentation mode.

If necessary, I'd be prepared to file an RFE as generalisation: We have seen
some bug reports stating that edit mode shows this and that, but in
presentation mode respectively PDF export, nothing was visible.
While the test cases until now might have been 'resolved', it is unforgivable,
so to say, that PDF export or presentation(s) do not show elements visible in
edit. In a nutshell: The rendering engines ought better be unified, to either.
Nothing worse than a presentation well done and looking good, but being empty
when shown. It must not be necessary to double-check each and every slide,
addition and modification in presentation mode to make sure.

When you work with huge tables on FullHD displays it is easy to see values in
nearest columns in a row, but it stands to be hard to find values in columns
that are far from active cell.
I suggest it will be very convenient, to create new option in View menu:
Highlight current row and cell. Right after Value Highlighting

I am on LibreOffice 5.0.0.5 which is supposed to be 'okay'. I created a new
slide in a set of slides, added a .svg.
It shows in edit mode, but in presentation mode the slide is and remains empty
of any indication of an image.

Therefore, I think the best choice is to reopen this bug, because it has not
been resolved.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92794] Addressbook Integration: Unevaluated variable '$filename$' displayed in error dialog

2015-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92794

--- Comment #5 from royerjy roye...@wanadoo.fr ---
I made some tests with very few addresses in address books in Thunderbird. It
is almost OK when Thunderbird address books have only some addresses, less than
100 addresses. However it is difficult to understand how works the transfer
between LiBo and TB. Addresses deleted in TB always appears in LiBo. Difficult
to explain how to reproduce. It seems than adresses.odb shows often 43
addresses. My address book has more than 1300 addresses...

Other experiences ?
