When the document is printed to a pdf file, notes can be viewed by highlighting
the text.
So notes are printed, but they are printed with white text on white background.

I read a similar bug filed for version 4.3.2.2, posted a few months ago. I
tried the suggested work-arounds and found that the .msi file had a bad MD5
hash. I re-loaded it from the utexas.edu mirror, and the MD5 hash came out
fine. Second try at installation worked. I also found the mirrors listed on the
INFO page linked from the download page.
Sorry, my fault.

OK, looking through the log, very clear that you have assigned the desired
INSTALLLOCATION of C:\Program Files\LibreOffice -- believe that is what is
known as the UI stage.

But as it enters the Execute stage at line 5278,

Machine policy value 'AlwaysInstallElevated' is 1
User policy value 'AlwaysInstallElevated' is 1
Machine policy value 'EnableUserControl' is 0

and trigger at line 5345

PROPERTY CHANGE: Adding RestrictedUserControl property. Its value is '1'

and the customization settings made in the UI stage are being "disallowed".

Not clear if this is UAC, or an aspect of the system being on AD with Domain
GPOs applied. Is this box getting GPO?

In any case, some indications browsing web of an interplay of UAC when
'AlwaysInstallElevated' is active--*requires* the "public" properties set in
the UI section to be present in the MSI -> "Property" table in the
"SecureCustomProperties" property stanzas. If not they are ignored and not
passed into the service. Which is what seems to be happening in this case.

I checked historical LO msi installers back through the 4.1.0 builds and we
don't set Values other than NEWPRODUCTS; OLDPRODUCTS. Earlier builds set a few
more Values for PRODUCTS--but never any of the MSI "customization" values.

@Andras, thoughts? Should we be adding the below Custom Actions to the MSI
Property -> SecureCustomProperties?

For example, make a Shape in Impress. By default, it will be named Shape 1.
Make another Shape, that is Shape 2. Give Shape 1 a custom animation. Then, we
go to Timing tab in effect options of Shape 1, click Trigger button, change the
radio button from "Animate as part of click sequence" to "Start effect on click
of". Choose Shape 2 as the trigger of this custom animation. Now, run the slide
show. When the cursor hovers on Shape 2, it changes to a hand (according to
computer setting of cursor appearance on clickable object, actually) notifying
that Shape 2 is clickable to produce some results. If we click Shape 2, the
custom animation of Shape 1 will be started. After that, we can no longer click
Shape 2 to start the animation again unless we move away from that slide, maybe
to the next or previous slide, then go back to that slide and click Shape 2
again. In Microsoft PowerPoint 2003, for example, we can restart a triggered
animation anytime by clicking the trigger object. Please notify me if more
information is necessary. Thank you for your help.

I suspect that the problem may be OS-dependent.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Bugdoc with PDFs showing import results

Opening the RTF in attached archive with LO Writer gives a single page with 4
text paragraphs. Opening it with MS WordViewer gives two-pages calculations
document.

In LO Writer, selecting all (Ctrl+A) shows in status bar 385 words, 2620
characters selected. Replacing format from MS Sans Serif to Arial (Ctrl+H ->
Other options -> Format... -> Font) makes the hidden text visible, so it is
actually imported, but initially invisible. The text may also be made visible
by selecting eveerything and clearing direct formatting (Ctrl+M)

It's impossible to make the text visible by selecting options to show hidden
text etc.

Tested with LO 4.4.2.2 and 5.0.1.2 under Win7x64 (possible theree's a problem
under Win7, where the MS Sans Serif font is absent?)

In the help files, some text is a menu entry path (e.g. Insert - Image) and
most of these have a bold tag () though we have a dedicated page for menu
entry paths (), but visually there isnt a
difference between these two in the help viewer or in the wikihelp, so is there
a benefit of replacing all these entries with entries.

Happy to try a few times. This first attempt should give us material to
analyse. I used the command line you suggested (except that the version number
in the downloaded MSI is only 5.0.1, the .2 is missing but it is version
5.0.1.2). And the behaviour was exactly as before: I set the install location
to "C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\" and verified that the GUI showed this new
location right up to the point when I had selected my components and clicked to
proceed. Also I chose not to create the desktop shortcut. Again, the installer
used "LibreOffice 5" and the desktop shortcut was created.

c44:
=IF(COUNT(WeeklyRounds.C44:$AMC44)>19;"";IF(SUM(WeeklyRounds.C44:$AMC44)>0;SUM(WeeklyRounds.C44:$AMC44);""))

Into the formula COUNT(WeeklyRounds.C44:$AMC44) is equal 17
So the sum is calculated and showed because is higher than zero.

bh29:
=IF(COUNT(WeeklyRounds.BH29:$AMC29)>19;"";IF(SUM(WeeklyRounds.BH29:$AMC29)>0;SUM(WeeklyRounds.BH29:$AMC29);""))

Into the formula COUNT(WeeklyRounds.BH29:$AMC29) is equal 19
So the sum is calculated and showed because is higher than zero.

I guess you know analyzed rows has values higher than one, so the SUM is not
equal than COUNT.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94193] Installer ignores at least some options in Custom mode, such as changes to the target directory

2015-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94193

Yes, there could certainly be issues with the GUI installer. Especially for
customization of the newly implemented 64-bit Windows builds.

But, what I am saying is that without detailed installation logs of "custom"
installations--the dev's will have no interest in even looking at it.

If you still want to keep after it, we will need viable steps to reproduce. And
verbose logs to review.

Again, I hate to put to load back on you, but there you have it. When you can
replicate the issue and capture it in a log--we'll have somewhere to start.

Unfortunately it means a lot of install -> remove -> clean and repeat...

Use this command to give you the full GUI and customize from there, each setp
of the transform will get recorded.

msiexec.exe /i LibreOffice_5.0.1.2_Win_x64.msi /qf /L*v installTestXX.log

The sheet number 9 is filled with a nested if formula which works in most of
the left most cells and then begins to fail. If the formula is correctly
worked there should be no number greater than 19. An examination of the

I'm not quite sure what you are saying. You are clearly aware that my original
report is about me using the "Change" button to change the install location.
Are then suspecting that somehow, just before installing, the value had
reverted to its default? That would be a bug in itself, but I can assure you
(as an experienced user of GUIs and indeed a software developer myself) that
I've observed this behaviour several times and made sure that the GUI promised
it would install in C:\Program Folders\LibreOffice but then the version number
(4 or 5) was added anyway. Also, don't forget that I also clicked to say I did
not want a desktop shortcut and it was created anyway.

Yep, just did a conversion in bulk to SVG. They come in very cleanly as a New
Theme in gallery. Unfortunately they are not CCO artwork and are liekly Cisco
copyright/proprietary so won't post them for you. Attaching the scripts to
convert--you'll need Ghostscript and poppler for Windows installed and on

 Resolution|--- |INVALID

Not sure why you would have beleived 3015_eps.zip is a valid
LibreOffice/OpenOffice extension? Rather, it is a collection of Encapsulated
Postscript images that default Windows installations in general have no
effective means of rendering.

The Extension manager happily copies it to a folder in the user profile, and
unzips the images into a temporary folder.

C:\Users\oofda\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\extensions\tmp\extensions

to remove simply delete it and restart LibreOffice.

Past attempt to remove the invalid extension will be written to a log.txt file
in C:\Users\oofda\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\uno_packages\cache

The log can be ignored, or just reset your user profile by deletion.

=-=-=

If for some reason, you do want to use the vector icons from 3015_eps.zip you
will need to first extract them all from the Zip file into a folder. Then add
them as a New Theme in the Gallery. When the Properties dialog opens--name the
theme on the General tab, and from the Files tab "Find files" and navigate to
the folder where the EPS are unzipped. Use the "Add all" to complete addition
of the new items to the Gallery.

A couple of points--the EPS from this set all have low resolution TIFF
"previews" that LibreOffice will use. Not very appealing, and you have to
remove the preview to make LibreOffice render the image at higher quality--but
as mentioned Windows does not have the "helper" programs needed for handling
the EPS.

In a practical sense, what that means is that you probably want to convert the
EPS to another image format *external* to LibreOfiice. A conversion to PNG
would work well enough for most folks. But a Ghostscript ps2pdf -d EPSCrop
conversion to PDF, piped to a poppler pdftocairo -svg conversion to SVG would
retain full vector resolution.

In Libre Office Writer. I have, for example, a very long list with 11 numbers

05984984598, 54894589548, 32324234234, etc. I'd like to add other characters to
these numbers to make them like this format 059.849.845-98, 548.945.895-48,
323.242.342-34

To find them I use [:digit:]{11} to find them, and when I try to replace this
for [:digit:]{3}.[:digit:]{3}.[:digit:]{3}-[:digit:]{2} I can't do that. is
this possible?

Using Libre Office 4.4.5.2, that character displays correctly in the source

This problem might related to Bug 81129 which concerns five-digit Unicode

Prior to 5.0, the Print Document Directly tooltip would indicate the printer
that would be printed to. This was extremely useful when using a laptop at
different locations. The user could tell if they needed to change the default
printer before printing. Now, for someone who travels from location to
location, the Print Document Directly is not really useful anymore, since the
document might go to the local printer or it might be directed to a printer
that is not currently accessible.

I've checked it with LO 5.0.1.2 - the results are the same as the described
earlier (the bug is present). Did you do your tests with .xlsx file? (the
example file is .ods for the integrity of the formula).

It is not a bug because formula are not drawing objects. To change the size of
the formula you have to change the size of the used font.

For example, in a new presentation document, insert the last formula given as
example, that is :
f ( x ) = {1} over {%sigma sqrt{2%pi} }e^-{{(x-%mu)^2} over {2%sigma^2}}

To change its size, you can do that:
size 36{f ( x ) = {1} over {%sigma sqrt{2%pi} }e^-{{(x-%mu)^2} over
{2%sigma^2}}}

Closing as duplicate of bug 89191. Please see
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89191#c2 and bug 75408.

Best regards. JBF

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94193] Installer ignores at least some options in Custom mode, such as changes to the target directory

> ... But
> what I'd really like to know is how we could analyse the initial behaviour
> that happens when I just double-click the MSI.

If you open the .msi package with Microsoft's ORCA MSI package editor you'll
see that the settings for INSTALLLOCATION are bound to
ProgramFiles64Folder--which otherwise takes its value from TARGETDIR--and its
value becomes "LibreOffice 5" resulting in a default for INSTALLLOCATION of
"C:\Program Files\LibreOffice 5"

When running the default GUI install, i.e. double clicking the .msi (as opposed
to running CLI with msiexec.exe and variables) the installer uses the defaults
from the .msi package. Resulting in "C:\Program Files\LibreOffice 5" showing
at the "Install to:" stanza of a Custom installation.

With the GUI, the "Change" button can be manipulated immediately, or use the
back button to return to it after making selections for Optional components, or
Additional languages.

Either way before proceeding, double check that the "Install to:" value shows
the custom location you prefer. It is that string that gets written to the
installation as the transform INSTALLLOCATION value.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93574] Autosaving or regular saving change focus from the current page

2015-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93574

I think this conversation is going into wrong direction. I believe volunteer
are contributing to LibreOffice not for themself, but for wider audience
(including me). Their purpose is not to serve me or anyone, but still they want
to create free software using their specific knowledge and our FEEDBACK.

This bug affects me as well. I will survive somehow, but people switching from
other offices judge LO by such (very obvious) processes. It's a shame to fail
at such simple test (such as saving document and losing focus of current page).
This bug is trivial and very annoying for anyone actively using LibreOffice.
Higher priority should be given to it. Otherwise, this trivial bug will be
ignored (it's minor, why should we fix it?) and users will eventually create
image of LO not being capable to deliver most simple processes without making
mistake.

It's like you know how to drive the car, but you always forget to take keys
with you.

2015-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94196

Bug ID: 94196
Summary: FILESAVE, FILEOPEN: .xlsx: TRANSPOSE formula is
corrupted after saving and reopening file.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: im.dep...@gmail.com

Created attachment 118678
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=118678&action=edit
Test file with TRANSPOSE() example

Hello,

I've found a bug with the TRANSPOSE function in Calc for the .xlsx file (with
.ods this bug is not present). I've attached the file "Test_TRANSPOSE.ods". You
can see the original array D2:H2 and transposed array B4:B8.

Let's try to save this file to .xsls, close the file, and then open .xlsx file
again. At first sight, the transposed array is in place, with the correct
values. But look at the formulas in the cells B4:B8 :

Must be: "{=TRANSPOSE(D2:H2)}" for all cells B4:B8
Really are: "=TRANSPOSE(D2:H2)" for B4; "=B4" for B5:B8

I've noticed the values of the original array are saved correctly in the
transposed array in spite of the formulas that are now corrupted. You can save
the file and open it again many times - the values of the original array will
be displayed correctly. This makes the bug rather dangerous, because you will
not be able to see the bug until..

..until you won't make change to the original array. Let's edit the cell E2:
enter "6" instead of "2". Look at the transposed array: all 5 cells are updated
with the value "1" (as per corrupted formulas).

You're right, something went wrong when I put together the command line.
However, that is not so important because that install file does not document
the process where the real problem occurs. Maybe my quote led to what I
observed in bug 93606, comment 24 when I wrote that I had to specify the
install location I wanted again as I was going through the wizard. But what I'd
really like to know is how we could analyse the initial behaviour that happens
when I just double-click the MSI.

@sebalis,

Thanks for posting the install log.

Looked it over and one thing that jumps out is that your command line somehow
has an extra quote mark in the INSTALLLOCATION entry:

INSTALLLOCATION"=C:\Program Files\LibreOffice

Result is that the default is pulled from the MSI package.

As you then select a custom install, you later change the INSTALLLOCATION to
your preferred placement.

Since you are up and working, hate to ask you to uninstall and have another go.
But otherwise,if you don't want to press on, would think this issue can be
resolved invalid as well.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71897] FILESAVE: Format Cells (Numbers) for a whole column not retained in empty cells if saving as XLSX

2015-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Hi,

I'm affected by this bug too. The definition is very similar, but first I've
noticed this bug for the currency format.

OS: Windows 7 SP1 64-bit
LO: 4.4.4.3, 4.4.5.2

I've added the file "Test_2.ods" with 3 example formats: date; currency; number
with a fractional part. You can see, that the colomns A,C,D are properly
formatted (so, you can add entries to empty rows and the data will be formatted
as expected). After saving this file to the .xlsx format you will lose all the
formatting for the empty rows. If you'll try to manually restore columns
formating for the .xslx file, it would work only till the file closing. After
reopening the .xlsx file you will see all formatting for the empty rows is lost
again.

P.S. It's quite strange, but I have not been affected by this bug for the
currency format with LO 4.3.5 - 4.3.7. It started for me with LO 4.4.

I'm on a Linux system using Google Chrome Beta. A friend of mine reported
problems downloading the 4.4 -version for windows (it is for some unknown
reason recommended by the sv.libreoffice.org -dl-page), on windows, instead of
getting the file they ended up on badai.at.

I just now tried the 4.4 dl page
(http://sv.libreoffice.org/ladda-ner-libreoffice/?type=rpm-x86_64&version=4.4.5&lang=sv)
and ended up at badai again on all dl-links.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94194] New: EDITING Formula under impress has protected size

2015-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94194

Bug ID: 94194
Summary: EDITING Formula under impress has protected size
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: af...@mellonta.net

Formulas are born with protected size stuck.

The only way to resize them is:

1. right click
2. open "position and size" window
3. uncheck "protect size"
4. manually change "Width" value
5. OK.

Once pressed ok, size is protected anew, and the procedure must be repeated if
size not ok.

This *not* a duplicate of bug 93606. I set that ticket's title and added some
comments as it seemed to apply to me just as much as to the OP. But I was told
to open a new one specific to my situation, so that's what I'm doing. As that
ticket title was chosen to match my findings, I'm copying it for this new bug.

Here are my comments from the other ticket again:

bug 93606, comment 23 2015-08-31 22:50:41 UTC

I am also experiencing this problem on an US English version of Windows 7. I am
not changing the drive letter but the actual name of the installation directory
(I want to remove the major version number). Also, I choose not to create a
desktop shortcut, this is also ignored. I've first reported this on
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/56644/custom-install-options-ignored-on-windows-7/
with some more details but there were no replies. I've seen this problem on my
previous installations of LibreOffice 4 as well.

bug 93606, comment 24 2015-08-31 23:18:38 UTC

I've now tried the command line suggested in bug 93606, comment 16, with the
path changed to what I desire, so this is what I ran:

msiexec.exe /i LibreOffice_5.0.1_Win_x64.msi INSTALDIR="C:\Program
Files\LibreOffice" TARGETDIR="C:\Program Files\LibreOffice"
INSTALLLOCATION"="C:\Program Files\LibreOffice" /L*v installLog.txt

However, as soon as I chose "Custom", the wizard came up the default install
location "C:\Program Files\LibreOffice 5\". I changed it back to what I wanted
(leaving the trailing backslash in place). Then it worked (also the desktop
shortcut, but still does not work when I double-click the .msi file. My account
has the required rights to perform the installation either way, but I took care
to start the command line from an administator's CMD process as requested in
the previous comment.

bug 93606, comment 25 2015-08-31 23:32:55 UTC

I had to jump through the some hoop when installing the help package. Funnily,
the dialog did pick up from somewhere that I had installed LibreOffice in
"C:\Program Files\LibreOffice" and did show that path to me in the dialog. So I
went ahead and clicked to install. I then found that "C:\Program
Files\LibreOffice 5" had been created. Uninstalling the help package did not
remove that folder either. I removed it manually after uninstalling and then
ran

msiexec.exe /i LibreOffice_5.0.1_Win_x64_helppack_en-US.msi
INSTALDIR="C:\Program Files\LibreOffice" TARGETDIR="C:\Program
Files\LibreOffice" INSTALLLOCATION"="C:\Program Files\LibreOffice" /L*v
installLog3.txt

I now, finally, have a working installation (with help package) in my desired
target folder.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94173] Calc doesn't save your own created autoformat presets

2015-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94173

In autoform.cxx, line 1082, if I change this line:
for (++it; bRet && it != itEnd; ++it) // Skip the first item.
into this:
for (; bRet && it != itEnd; ++it)
it's ok
(see
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/core/tool/autoform.cxx#1082)
The goal is to skip "Default" (the always first entry in autoformat list)

However, seeing there's a "Default" in Autoformat in Writer, I suppose there
should one too in Calc.
So the quoted change must be wrong and I should search why Default doesn't
appear.
