Thanks for the tip ! This made our secretary screaming last year. I see at
least two possible solutions to improve this:
 - write this in the documentation in the section referring to labels.
 - Ignore protection by default when working on labels (I might be wrong but I
   do not see any reason to protect labels by default).

You are right: this is not an obvious solution but it works and you can go back
an make correction if something is wrong.

Indeed, but I think this one would be really intuitive, would allow to quickly
toggle between "database fields view" and "merged view", and so very usefull
especially for newcomers.

I have the same argument here: a "Merge and save" button would not be so
confusing
for experienced users, but would be really nice for beginners.

Yes, but same problem as I said above: the need to add a database, BEFORE
creating
a new label document where you need it, is in my opinion not intuitive at all.

I agree. It would allow to simplify this enhancement request, and so
to express something usable for someone to implement it: It is better to
improve
slowly than to do nothing.

As you found out yourself - the "info" link below the download button offers
both various checksums as well as manual mirror selection.

As second download from the same mirror worked fine, assuming hickup on the
download, and not general problem with the mirror → worksforme.

Hi Cor;

Try filtering out column E for the "Exclude" items.  This really puts the
system through the test.  Based on your information I did some more testing and
here is what I found:

Windows 10, i7 processor, Libra Calc build 5.0.1.2, states it is "up to date"

Column D, thumgs.db, everything works immediately.
Column E, Exclude, it takes 10 seconds

Debian 8.2 (x86-64), Cinamon 2.2.16, Linux Kernel version 3.16.0-4-amd64, AMD
Athlon(tm) 64 processor 3700+ x 1, memory 2.7G, Libra Calc 4.3.3.2, Build ID
430m0(Build:2)

Column D, thumbs.db, everything works immediately.
Column E, Exclude, everything works immediately.

So from my limited testing ability here, Windows 10 would "appear" to be the
issue?  Though why yours showed the delays on Linux I don't know?

Can not reproduce.


1) Open Excel sheet attached to current bug report.
2) Select all cells in sheet by clicking in upper leftmost corner outside of
sheet
3) Click on font dropdown menu, the font list displays with previews where
available.
4) Select a font to apply to all cells.
5) Cells get updated with chosen font display.


We need more information, and detailed steps as to how you are able to
reproduce the problem/

I would support the second option, maybe more specifically on merged labels.
And adding the info to Documentation is good too..
Could you please write issues for that?

non-scalar aka array expressions. A sequence can consist of zero elements, e.g.

Spreadsheet to demonstrate the issue

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open the attached spreadsheet.
2) Select rows three though eight.
3) Start a search but accidentally type Control-D instead of Control-F.
4) Oh noes! You messed up the data. Press Control-Z to undo.
5) Ouch! The data isn't right. Press Control-Shift-F9 to fix.

Expected result:
3) I learn to type better some day.
4) The previous operation should be fully .

Actual result:
4) The value of cell A1 is zero after the undo.
5) The value of cell A1 is correct.

I've seen the issue with  larger sheets, but this small example was typed by
hand in LibreOffice 5. Seen on Windows and Ubuntu on Version 4.4 as well as
Version 5.

1. Enter normal data not to much.
2. Click Insert > Chart
3. LibreOffice Calc crash
4. LibreOffice start document recovery.

My platform is Windows 1o Pro RTM and my graphic is Intel GMA 3150.

Note that you should not use the “MS Serif” or “MS Sans Serif” virtual fonts,
which can’t be printed at all. Those are relics of the Windows 3.1-era
operating systems, and are still in Windows for backwards-compatibility
purposes.

I called them “virtual fonts” because they are not actual fonts you can use;
those are raster fonts intended to be used by legacy, 16-bit software
(incompatible with 64-bit, of course). The Windows Registry will map those
names to real OpenType fonts, namely Arial and Times New Roman, which you can
see in the PDF export. Since this is something Windows does internally, it’s
neither our fault nor a bug.

Loaded style from template with overwrite checked, but the text in footer
remained the same: Original footer.

I don't understand what we should be looking at here. The captions seem ok in
your PDF. I modified a couple of links to point to my own images. PDF export
preserves the captions just fine.

There are a lot of images+captions, so maybe I'm missing something? If it is
about a specific caption, please tell us what it is and on which page.

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information.

Tested with master 32 bits.

Nothing change for me, with both types "always recalculate" activated and after
a hard recalc.

I repeated the tests with newly created files and created this samples.

Scenario 1: I get a file, created with Word 2010, open the file with
LibreOffice, make changes and save the file.
This are the steps, that i made.

Step 1
1. create and save test.docx with Word 2010
2. open test.docx with LibreOffice
3. save copie test_lo1.docx
4. save copie test_lo1.doc

Step 2
1. open test.docx with LibreOffice
2. save file as test.odt
3. close test.odt
4. open test.odt with LibreOffice
5. save copie test_lo2.docx
6. save copie test_lo2.doc

Comment:
Now the sample files were only opened and closed unchanged.
The error's in test_lo1.doc and test_lo2.doc are the same,
the error's in test_lo1.doc and test_lo2.docx are the same.

Step 3
1. open test_lo1.docx/test_lo2.docx with Word 2010:
Fields [pagenumber] and [pages] in the footer lost their format, Word used
standart format Arial 11.
2. open test_lo1.docx/test_lo2.docx with LibreOffice:
no problems

Step 4

Word 2010 reports corrected errors: bookmarks and character properties.
The first word in footer "Seite" lost it's format, Word used standart format
Arial 11.
The first word in page 2 has an bookmark, generated by Word.
2. open test_lo1.doc/test_lo2.doc with LibreOffice:
The first word in footer "Seite" lost it's format, LibreOffice used standart
format Arial 11.

Thank you add the CMYK color support.

When an image is received with CMYK logo (file logo-orig.jpg), inclusion in
Writer changes the colors. When printing the document (file doc-with-logo.odt)
with the logo, the colors are different.

This issue is still present in

on Windows 7 (64-bit)

The problem is that the issue's description is wrong. Databar color is already
different in Writer and Word at importing time. I change the description
accordently.

You are right @Alexander, my mistake, I confuse the values that I add in C and
D, with the formulas in B.

Reproducible with:
LibreOffice 3.3.4 OOO330m19 (Build:401) tag libreoffice-3.3.4.1

The issue it's not only with TRANSPOSE() function, but with all arrays.

One more thing I think would be helpful, unfortunately again another round of
remove -> clean -> install. Sorry!

For this installation launch your CMD window "Run as Administrator", you are
looking for it to start with UAC acknowledgement, and open in
C:\Windows\system32, not your user profile home.

Then navigate to your downloaded MSI and run your install as before:

msiexec.exe /i LibreOffice_5.0.1_Win_x64.msi /qf /L*v installTestXX.log

We're looking to avoid trigger of RestrictedUserControl which I think is
residual UAC difference between a user account in the Administrators group and
the local system Administrator.

Other way to test, would be to activate and log in with the local system
Administrator account--but that causes IT folks great grief ;-) You might
enlist their assistance if you want to try that.

Let us know result and post up the install log(s).

Log for test installation 2, this time from an elevated command prompt --
changes to settings were not ignored

I know it's good supporter practice to err on the side of explaining more than
necessary, but you might have gleaned from my earlier comments that I am very
familiar with UAC prompts. :-) Starting an elevated command prompt is quite a
common activity for me.

I did as you requested, made the same adjustments as always, and this time my
changes were honoured. The log is attached.

Are you saying it flickers constantly? Or only once per typed letter (true for
me)?

I also tried with 5.1 and there the flicker is almost non-existent.

Could you try installing a build of 5.1 and giving it a shot:
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Win-x86@62-merge-TDF/

It installs parallel to your stable LibO, so it won't mess anything up.

Then you might decide whether you want to keep this open or close as resolved.

Hi,

This bugs is happening to me with the regular version on Debian stable.
It is extremely annoying, I can't have my job done at work.
Reproducible: 100%.

Libre Office version:
Version: 4.3.3.2
Build ID: 430m0(Build:2)

How to reproduce: (100%)
1) Start Libre Office
2) Create a new impress document : Click on "Impress Presentation" 
3) Create a new table : Insert -> Table -> OK
4) Copy the slide : Click on the slide on the top left, copy it and paste it.
5) Select the new side (p2)
6) Select the table in the new slide : click inside the new table it and press
esc
7) Cut it (ctrl-x)
CRASH

I'm still not able to reproduce the problem here but I have enough
information to see where it is crashing. This is the frame here:

That looks like a null pointer was passed in as the frame parameter, and
it is causing the crash.

Thank you for the explanation and the reference.

I can now understand what went 'off' and why the programming changed in this
manner, so that internationally, it would be more flexible to local standards.

I played around with it and also read more online, but I was still unable to
effect a change back to its [former] behaviour.

So, instead of just typing in "Sep15" to yield "Sep-2015" or "13Sep15" to yield
"13-Sep-2015" I have to separate the elements with a dash or a space.  It's an
adjustment in my behaviour, but okay.
