Thanks. Of course any cursor will cover the text it is over. If we make the distance between pages larger it won't solve the problem because that space is not fixed, it depends on the zoom. So one can zoom out enough and still complain that the cursor covers the text. The current space size is chosen to be small enough to hint at the break but to make the content look continuous. Making it very large will be wasteful, and as mentioned depends on zooming. Luckily, the mouse can be moved if it distracts the user :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.1.0.1 rc Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: graphics stack Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: michael.me...@collabora.com If you do a: git grep -5 SetXORMode in VCL - you'll see that the second parameter: virtual void SetXORMode( bool bSet, bool bInvertOnly ) bInvertOnly - appears to only be implemented for OSX - and all the other backends just use 'bSet' - to mean "XOR" vs. "Not XOR". As such - it'd be great to go back through the callees and check that no-one is really using bInvertOnly in anger, and then strip that parameter out of the backend APIs, and also out of the VCL API in each instance; and ideally out of any callers that use bInvertOnly. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 74375] EDITING: Option to enable editing keys (cursor, Home, etc.) on first entry of text into cell
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74375 --- Comment #14 from David Filskov--- I'm in favor of adding these options: "Typing into a cell... ... works like Excel (default) ... does nothing (tap F2 to edit). or ... enters editing mode (like double-click) and ... overwrites/replaces its content. ... puts the cursor where it was left off. ... puts the cursor at the end of content. ... puts the cursor at the start of content." I agree it's an enhancement - not a bug. As you might know a basic UI rule is the less modes the better. Modes are harder for the brain to adapt to since habits will work against you (like tapping Home or arrow left to fix a typo). Excel's different editing modes are simply counter-intuitive but I see its advantages when quickly entering several numbers (which I do quite rarely). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96977 Bug ID: 96977 Summary: PIVOTTABLE FORMATTING: pivot table uses the formatted column label which cause errors when calling GETPIVOTDATA Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.4.2 rc Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jul...@kronegg.ch Created attachment 121810 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=121810=edit Test-case and comparison with WPS Office and MS Office Context: Format Accounting imported from Excel produces a space prefix and suffix (e.g. "sales" => " sales "). This is probably the expected behavior as the space prefix is clearly visible in LibreOffice 10, Excel 2010 and WPC Office 2016 Beta. Moreover, when the cell is copied into text format (e.g. in Windows Notepad), the value with spaces is copied. The LibreOffice Pivot table uses the formatted content converted to text (" sales ") instead of the value itself ("sales"). This is clearly visible in the Pivot table layout (see attached file). The consequence is that formulas such as '=GETPIVOTDATA("sales",A1)' returns "#REF!" because "sales" is not found (but '=GETPIVOTDATA(" sales ",A1)' work as expected) In Microsoft Excel 2013 and WPS Office 2016 Beta, the Pivot table is using the original value and not the formatted content. Thus '=GETPIVOTDATA("sales",A1)' returns the expected content. Expected result: PIVOT TABLE uses the raw column labels. Actual result: PIVOT TABLE uses the formatted column label. The title information, and chapter headings are center justified. The problem is that opening them with LO the center justification goes away, and everything that was center justified is now left justified. It's intermittent; it doesn't happen every time now, but it started with 4.4.4.1 rc, and as a result I've been converting the documents to .odt and reformatting to restore the center justification to the bibliographic information and chapter headings. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96980] New: Line and page/table border drawing mismatch
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96980 Bug ID: 96980 Summary: Line and page/table border drawing mismatch Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: trivial Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: lrn1...@gmail.com When i say "Line" i mean the "Line" tool from the drawing toolbar (also applies to TextBox tool from that toolbar). Bug (1) Page border width is in "pt", one pt is 0.352(7)mm. Minimal border width is 0.05pt (0.017635 mm). Border width granularity is 0.01pt. Maximal border width is 9pt (3.175mm). Line width is in "cm", one cm is 10mm. Minimal line width is 0.01cm (0.1mm). Line width granularity is 0.01cm (0.1mm). Maximal line width is freaking big. Meaning that: A) it's very difficult to make the line width to be visibly equal to the page border width, unless you choose a very specific size (like, 2.83pt page border and, accordingly, 0.01cm line) B) page borders can be much thinner than lines could ever be C) lines can be much thicker than page borders could ever be Bug (2) Actual page border is drawn *inward* from the logical page border. Actual line is drawn *through* the logical line. This is obvious if you make really thick 9pt page border (say, 2cm space from the left edge of the page) and then look at the horizontal ruler. The ruler will tell you that the left edge of the thick black line of the border is exactly 2cm away from the edge. At the same time, if you create a line, set its PositionAndSize to be 2cm ToTheLeft from the EntirePage, you'll see that the line center is 2cm away, not its left edge. Obviously, this is preferred behaviour for lines (as lines have no inherent "inward" or "outward" edge). However, this also applies to the TextBox tool. Text boxes *do* have inward and outward edges. Tables also have inward and outward edges, *and* their borders are defined as page borders - in pt, up to 9.00pt. However, table borders are drawn like lines - squarely through the logical border, so that half the width is on one side, and the other half is on the other side. Possible fixes: For (1) - Allow lines/borders to be defined in pt/cm respectively, with the granularity and maximal width changed to match For (2) - Add inward/outward/centered property to each line (for lines inward would be right, outward would be left, relative to the direction of the line; for textboxes it's obvious; defaults to centered). Add inward/outward/centered property to page/table borders (defaults to inward for pages, centered for tables). Use-case: i want to place a textbox at the edge of my page and align it with the page border. That has proven to be very difficult, because of the border/line width discrepancy and because textbox line is drawn through the textbox logical border while page border line is drawn along its inward logical edge. When exported to PDF, i can clearly see that the box and the page borders are not aligned (i would assume that printing it on paper wouldn't change anything). This applies to both 5.2.0.0.alpha0 and 5.0.4.2. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90406] export to PDF may produce hanging punctuation after bibliography entries [Hard to reproduce]
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90406 --- Comment #7 from Yury--- Created attachment 121811 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=121811=edit hanging punctuation after formula I believe this sample to be a manifestation of the same problem. Only in this instance the hanging punctuation comes after the Math object. The font used is Times New Roman from MS Webpack. Neither Tools->Update->Fields, nor ->Page Formatting has any effect on this. The [397] in the preceding text was entered by hand, instead of auto-numbered bibliography -- edits that do not cause the Math object to move in its line of text, do not affect the hanging punctuation. Some rounding error in widths calculation, or objects reporting to Writer the incorrect (too small) width values? At least, could someone knowledgeable advise on how to *find* all such occurences, either programmatically or in the source XML, even?? I'll need this text soon. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96978] New: updating charts in a spread sheet I created for my own use.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96978 Bug ID: 96978 Summary: updating charts in a spread sheet I created for my own use. Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: Other OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ka0...@icloud.com my spreadsheet contains 5 charts. I recently revised three of them to add a new data series. I inserted the revised charts using the provided chart wizard. Two of my charts remain unchanged. There is no problem with the unchanged charts. The new charts do not update correctly. The old charts track five data series. The new charts track six data series. Five of the data series in the new charts duplicate five data series in the old charts. Only one data series in the new charts is new information. One data series is common to all of the five charts. It is a date. I format that date day month, year (i.e. 8 Dec, 15). The date information is moved from a line at the top of my spread sheet to the first column in each of five data tables. This is accomplished by an update macro I wrote for this related purposes. I've used this macro in various iterations of my spreadsheet with reasonable success over the last several years, dating back to Open Office. Here is the problem. When I run the macro, after all of the new data is properly in place, everything appears to function correctly; that is until I look at the x axis data on the charts. On the two old charts the new date appears and functions correctly. On the new charts the date information is displayed as a five digit date code. (i.e. 42303 instead of the corresponding date in October 2015). I've tried a number of work arounds for this problem. All of them are a bit cumbersome. Some of them were a complete waste of time. I finally hit on one that is only somewhat inconvenient and yields a satisfactory result. I go to the data table that one of the new charts tracks. I copy date information from an earlier cell in the table and paste in place of the latest date. Then I correct the data to reflect the latest date. That eliminates the five digit code from the x axis, changing it to the date format I prefer. The I copy and paste the new data to the data table for the other two affected charts. At that point the problem is corrected until the next time I update the spread sheet. Please excuse the length of my description Of the problem. I prefer to be thorough. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
