[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 74386] UI: Provide obvious way to turn full-page text boundaries on/off, independent from Show non printing characters
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74386 burnu...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||burnu...@gmail.com --- Comment #9 from burnu...@gmail.com --- OK, I try a summary of the problem situation and an easy to code suggestion for a solution. Currently I see 2 Problems: a) A misleading UI: 1.) "View - Text Boundaries" does not show full boundaries but only cornermarks. 2.) "View - non printing characters" show non printing characters + text boundaries. And in a good UI each menu item should exactly do what it says and what a normal user expects. (Which can - in this case - not be solved with new options in the options menu.) b) A crippled/lost feature: 1.) If I work with layout in writer, I need the full text boundaries but not the non printing characters. 2.) Somebody else would need the non printing characters but would not like to see the full boundaries. My Suggestion for a quick solution with no need of recoding the options menu, but only rearrange the view menu a little: 1.) "View - non printing characters" show non printing characters ... and nothing else (as it says!) 2.) "View - Text Boundaries" is split in two items realized as sub-menu options: a) "only cornermarks" b) "full boundaries" or both as main items: a) "Text Boundaries" as it is ... showing the full boundaries b) and NEW: "Cornermarks" ... showing the cornermarks And so the UI is clear AND everyone can easy select what he wants and needs. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97370] New: System=level definition of Ctrl+Alt+letter key combination on Polish (PLP) keyboard ignored by Writer
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97370 Bug ID: 97370 Summary: System=level definition of Ctrl+Alt+letter key combination on Polish (PLP) keyboard ignored by Writer Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: t...@o2.pl The issue appeared with 5.0.4.2 release (both the installed and portable versions), and seems to be persistent despite bringing back all settings to default values and even reinstalling LibreOffice. The Polish Programmer's Keyboard Layout (PLP) in Windows can produce any of the Polish characters with diacritical marks (ąćęłńóśź) by pressing the corresponding unaccented character with either Right Alt or Ctrl+Alt. With the newest "fresh" version of LibreOffice, the Writer app ignores that system-wide setting and Polish characters can be typed with Right Alt only. Pressing Ctrl+Alt does the same as Left_Alt+letter, that is, invokes a menu command, e.g. Ctrl+Alt+E jumps to Edit, or does nothing, e.g. Ctrl+Alt+L, or invokes whatever is assigned to the key combination in Writer's preferences, e.g. with default settings Ctrl+Alt+C inserts a comment. In other modules (Impress, Calc, Draw) the keyboard behaves normally. Unfortunately, it's Writer - an application dedicated to text editing - where anything that goes against ingrained typing habits really affects efficiency. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

When i insert in the attached "Text box with broken links handling" the link https://wiki.documentfoundation.orgCoreHacks #OOXML_export_and_import_of_Impress_text_fields then the text break at the end of the Textfield is wrong (overwritten). 2. Over menu: Insert->Hyperlink... in the Dialog you can set a text for the Target, then the given text is show, but it is no as a link recognizable. The other question is, why when the Textfield in edit modus, the links always show in one line and cut at the end of textfield. But when you leave the edit mode then the links breaks in two or more lines?! This problem is in Textfield and Document the same, when you insert (copy or typing) a link and do not enter or space at the end, then the link would not be identified as a link, because the enter or the space existing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
