[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 74386] UI: Provide obvious way to turn full-page text boundaries on/off, independent from Show non printing characters

OK, I try a summary of the problem situation and an easy to code suggestion for
a solution.

Currently I see 2 Problems:

a) A misleading UI:
1.) "View - Text Boundaries" does not show full boundaries but only
cornermarks.
2.) "View - non printing characters" show non printing characters + text
boundaries.
And in a good UI each menu item should exactly do what it says and what a
normal user expects. (Which can - in this case - not be solved with new options
in the options menu.)

b) A crippled/lost feature:
1.) If I work with layout in writer, I need the full text boundaries but not
the non printing characters.
2.) Somebody else would need the non printing characters but would not like to
see the full boundaries.

My Suggestion for a quick solution with no need of recoding the options menu,
but only rearrange the view menu a little:

1.) "View - non printing characters" show non printing characters ... and
nothing else (as it says!)

2.) "View - Text Boundaries" is split in two items

realized as sub-menu options:
a) "only cornermarks"
b) "full boundaries"

or both as main items:
a) "Text Boundaries" as it is ... showing the full boundaries
b) and NEW: "Cornermarks" ... showing the cornermarks

And so the UI is clear AND everyone can easy select what he wants and needs.

For me it fixes only one row, as described in comment #3. Not the problem with
all other cells :\

I have a separate case showing the same problem. But it's an older file, from
what I remember, and a quick test in a new one, didn't give the trouble at
all..

1. Version 5.0.3.2 is ok (checked with another installation, that hasn't been

2. The development checked on a version 5.1.0 has the same bug.

Hard recalc CTRL + Shift + F9 works for me with or without OpenCL enable.

There is an option to recalc on file load:
Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice Calc/Formula - Recalculation on file load, that
also works for me.

I think Eike have taken the same matter in other report, which I'm not able to
find.

Thanks Ljiljan for the issue.
I can confirm more or less blind - had seen the same last night but not yet
filed an issue :\

In your file: removing the 'top' row (4), closing and reopening and doing a
hard refresh (Ctrl_+Shift+F9) shows the number in that row..

Adding Eike - maybe he directly knows where to look?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97370] New: System=level definition of Ctrl+Alt+letter key combination on Polish (PLP) keyboard ignored by Writer

2016-01-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97370

Bug ID: 97370
Summary: System=level definition of Ctrl+Alt+letter key
combination on Polish (PLP) keyboard ignored by Writer
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: t...@o2.pl

The issue appeared with 5.0.4.2 release (both the installed and portable
versions), and seems to be persistent despite bringing back all settings to
default values and even reinstalling LibreOffice.

The Polish Programmer's Keyboard Layout (PLP) in Windows can produce any of the
Polish characters with diacritical marks (ąćęłńóśź) by pressing the
corresponding unaccented character with either Right Alt or Ctrl+Alt.

With the newest "fresh" version of LibreOffice, the Writer app ignores that
system-wide setting and Polish characters can be typed with Right Alt only.
Pressing Ctrl+Alt does the same as Left_Alt+letter, that is, invokes a menu
command, e.g. Ctrl+Alt+E jumps to Edit, or does nothing, e.g. Ctrl+Alt+L, or
invokes whatever is assigned to the key combination in Writer's preferences,
e.g. with default settings Ctrl+Alt+C inserts a comment.

In other modules (Impress, Calc, Draw) the keyboard behaves normally.

Unfortunately, it's Writer - an application dedicated to text editing - where
anything that goes against ingrained typing habits really affects efficiency.

  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

sample XML file to import

I am trying to import a XML source file with command Data - XML Source, and
following the information available in

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Calc/XMLSource

The file is very simple and listed below (also attached)

1
Adventure
Raiders of the Lost Ark
1981
Steven Spielberg

  Harrison Ford
  Karen Allen
  John Rhys-Davies

2
Science Fiction
Interestella
2014
Christopher Nolan

  Matthew McConaughey
  Anne Hathaway
  Matt Damon
  Michael Caine
 .

Issue:
If the file has only one node, I can import and map attributes and
non recurring elements. The command does not import the node even
when it allows me to map to a cell (recurring elements).

If the file has two as above, I can't map any element to any cell
and thus I can't import the file

Test 1 and Test 2 titles has a white "filling" rectangle in front of the text.
This disappears when you export the document as PDF or press F5.

If I'm not mistaken, some versions ago this document was exported from Google

I'm on openSUSE x64 and KDE 5.

Yes, but without that step (i.e. selecting the picture) you cannot directly
select its frame in the footer because the footer catches the "focus" for the

separate bug?

If you take a look to https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan, you'll
see that 4.4.7 version is the last TDF official version of 4.4 branch.

Now, you have several choices:
- debug yourself the problem with 4.4 sources
- pay some people to do it
- contributing on > 5.0 branch by providing bugtrackers so you may help to
tackle these memory problems. Of course test last stable version, 5.0.4, before
reporting these. (you'll need XP SP3 according to this link:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95581] OGL: Sheared text in charts slow

2016-01-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95581

Still, it remains to be investigated why the code is taking this slow path in
the case of OpenGL, but not otherwise. Plus, the extreme irony of course is
that OpenGL naturally allows all kinds of transformations, certainly including
shears, so there isn't really that much need for decomposing text in the OpenGL
case. If there just was a way to pass the required transformation as a whole
down to the right level of abstraction. Good luck...

Ah, I found the STRIPDURATION difference in Apple's help forums.
https://discussions.apple.com/message/28878054#28878054

Examples
=STRIPDURATION(“1w”) returns 7, the equivalent of one week in days.
=STRIPDURATION(12) returns 12, because 12 is not a duration value.
=STRIPDURATION(“abc”) returns “abc”, because “abc” is not a duration value.

and
This function may be automatically inserted when a Numbers ’08 document is
upgraded, or an Excel or AppleWorks document is imported. It is removed in any
copy of the file saved as a Numbers ’08 or Excel document.

"The functions whose names end with _ADD return the same results as the
corresponding Microsoft Excel functions. Use the functions without _ADD to get
results based on international standards. For example, the WEEKNUM function
calculates the week number of a given date based on international standard ISO
8601, while WEEKNUM_ADD returns the same week number as Microsoft Excel."

from
https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Add-in_Functions,_List_of_Analysis_Functions_Part_Two#CONVERT_ADD
is party wrong. When removing _ADD from CONVERT_ADD (resulting in CONVERT) I
get a currency changer. At least says this the ONLINEHELP at

What is wrong? I think the latter from the description in the wizard...

Hi folks. i found a problem, but i don't really know if that is a BIG problem,
it makes we lose any unsaved files during any operation.

to do the bug work, you select the first column, and then you unselect some of
them.
you need to click with the right button and delete all the cells and move it
others for te left side and the following message appears:

"multi_type_vector.:get_block_position#X: block position not found! (logical
pos=X, block size=X, logical size=X)

you choose ok, and the program closes. sometimes, the file is irreparable.

But I would really like to investigate more where the text transformation comes

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97361] New: Make unittests more pythonic

2016-01-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97361

Bug ID: 97361
   Summary: Make unittests more pythonic
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bjoern.michael...@canonical.com

Since:

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=af8143bc40cf2cfbc12e77c9bb7de01b655f7b30

one can write code that looks a lot more native and less cumbersome in
Python/PyUNO. Quite a few of our Python unittests where translated from old
Java tests and still contain boilerplate that is superficial in Python. This
EasyHack is to look at the existing Python tests and make them more readable by
using the added pythonic features.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95526] Multi-line hyperlinks handled wrong

2016-01-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95526

I have found more problems in this case (tested only in writer)

Always in the Textfield
1. When i insert in the attached "Text box with broken links handling" the
   link https://wiki.documentfoundation.orgCoreHacks
#OOXML_export_and_import_of_Impress_text_fields then the text break at
the end of the Textfield is wrong (overwritten).

2. The tooltip (CTRL+Click to follow link: --link--) is missing.

3. Over menu: Insert->Hyperlink... in the Dialog you can set a text for the
Target, then the given text is show, but it is no as a link recognizable.

The other question is, why when the Textfield in edit modus, the links always
show in one line and cut at the end of textfield.
But when you leave the edit mode then the links breaks in two or more lines?!

This problem is in Textfield and Document the same, when you insert (copy or
typing) a link and do not enter or space at the end, then the link would not be
identified as a link, because the enter or the space existing.

Yeah, the second attachment has rotated text, and zooming is indeed quite slow.

I don't see any rotated text in the two charts (one on each sheet) here? Also,
it doesn't seem slow to me. This is in a relatively fresh master build on
Windows 10, AMD A10-7800. What am I missing? (Ah, there is another attachment;
will try that instead.)
