[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89657] The lang-pack installation mechanism on OSX unacceptable

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89657] The lang-pack installation mechanism on OSX unacceptable
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89657 --- Comment #13 from Piet van Oostrum --- Approach 2 is the standard way these things are done on OS X: install additions in /Library/Application Support/LibreOffice. If they are version dependent, add a version directory to it. The problem of leftovers in this directory is the same for other applications, and these don't seem to bother. Or they provide an uninstaller. Or just tell the user to also delete that one directory. The same approach could be used for extensions that are installed for all users. At the moment this is quite messy, as IIRC they are still installed in a user directory, or maybe also somewhere in the application. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89657] The lang-pack installation mechanism on OSX unacceptable
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89657 --- Comment #12 from catacom...@gmail.com --- [OS X developer and long time LibreOffice user, first time LibreOffice Bugzilla commenter...] I would prefer approach 3 as suggested by barefootguru, but if that would grow the size of the download to the point where it's unacceptable I would like to add one other possibility: 4. Deliver updated code signatures as part of the language pack. However if the user installs multiple language packs this might be a complicated issue where the langpack installer must keep track of signatures for all possible combinations of language packs... a quick calculation gives me more than 13000 possible combinations of language packs. Every langpack installer would need to include signatures for all of those combinations which include the installed language. Doable, but complicated. In my opinion there are some real problems with approach 1 and 2: Approach 1 relies on the fact that Gatekeeper will not check an app after it has been checked the first time, so if we add content to the app bundle after it has been verified the first time Gatekeeper doesn't care, but this sounds more like a bug in Gatekeeper. If Gatekeeper should provide any level of security it should detect modifications in a bundle after it has been checked the first time (what if some malware did the modification?). Indeed when checking the app with codesign after adding a language pack (in this case the Swedish language pack) reveals that it's in fact not valid anymore: $ codesign -v -v /Applications/LibreOffice.app /Applications/LibreOffice.app: a sealed resource is missing or invalid file added: /Applications/LibreOffice.app/Contents/Resources/autotext/sv/crdbus50.bau file added: /Applications/LibreOffice.app/Contents/Resources/autotext/sv/standard.bau ... Approach 2 puts data in directories that are not apparent to the user. If the user wants to uninstall LibreOffice the most obvious thing to do is to delete the app, but that leaves unreferenced data behind in /Library, wasting disk space. An application should be self-contained and not rely on data outside the app bundle. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97079] Printing doesn't properly adjust portrait vs. landscape in calc documents with both types of pages
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97079 --- Comment #6 from rodney...@gmail.com --- I've added this comment to Bug 50511 too, which appears to still be active, and covers similar problems. I'm using currently supported LO 5.0.2.2 on up-to-date openSUSE Leap 42.1. Brother MFC-J6nnnDW series are A3 capable and as for most such printers feed A4 as well as A3 short-edge first ie Portrait orientation in Print -> Properties -> Paper dialog. Latest driver package ver 3.0.0-1 from Brother has PS parameter "*VariablePaperSize: False". I work around this by having separate queues for A3 & A4, but these factors create some weird outcomes with LO. If a new landscape document is set to Format -> Page -> Format: A4, Orientation: Landscape then LO dialogs for Print -> Properties -> Paper differ depending on whether selected from File -> Print or File -> Printer Settings. The latter shows (greyed-out) paper orientation Portrait (which according to https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Landscape_Printing, is correct practice). The former shows (greyed-out) paper orientation Landscape. Outcome on paper is equally incorrect, with part of the work only in centre of portrait oriented paper. If same landscape document is then set to Format -> Page -> Format: A3, Orientation: Landscape, ie all that is changed is paper size, then LO still shows A4 paper in Print & Print Settings dialogs, although an A3 queue has been selected. Job then prints out incorrectly in portrait page orientation but scaled up to A3 size. I've checked /etc/cups/ppd and the PPD file for A3 queue definitely has page size set to A3. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

In "ODF 1.2 extended" this is written to file as 'draw:fit-to-size="shrink-to-fit"'. But the attribute 'draw:fit-to-size' has only the values true and false. And the attribute itself is the wrong one. The correct attribute is "style:shrink-to-fit" Read section 20.350 "The style:shrink-to-fit attribute specifies whether content is reduced in size to fit within a cell or drawing object. Shrinking means that the font size of the content is decreased to fit the content into a cell or drawing object." The attribute "style:shrink-to-fit" is not only usable with but also with . Therefore I do not see any need for extending the kind of the value of attribute 'draw:fit-to-size'. Instead use the correct attribute and retain the old behavior of 'draw:fit-to-size'. Besides being conform to ODF1.2, the correct attribute would make it possible to solve issue #34467, and to bring this feature to UI, so that a user can freely decide, whether he wants to use this feature or not. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

The objective of this project is to replace the local help application into a modern browser with the 2016's web technology. The advantages are many: * Eliminate an internal piece of code (internal browser) that is very old and resource limited, almost untouched since a decade, and * Use modern system's browser to display the help content. * Add modern resources such as multimedia, MathML, SVG, GIFs into the local help content for better user experience. * Build bridges to make the help content available to on-line servers, with the same capabilities of the local help. * Ease the access of the community in contributing to help content. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

In the case of a text field name, I used Orgs-02-04 as a value to drag/copy down the column and the value 04 incremented by one each time in the next field. In the case of VLookup, I created an array of A2:B244 and when dragging down the field to replicate the function, the A_ incremented each time to the next number so the lookup didn't work for most fields as the "array" it was looking in often didn't have that particular row -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

My suggestion would be that when there is no other styles available than the default style, don't make a submenu out of it, just make it like so: "Insert > Page header" "Insert > Page footer" Yes, the "Default style" thing can act as a checkbox to remove an existing header/footer, but 1) this can be done directly from the contextual footer/header's menu directly on the page 2) I haven't seen users look into the "Insert" menu to delete headers/footers, and indeed it doesn't make much semantic sense that an action to "remove" something would be in an "Insert" menu... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97622] New: Excessive space between adjacent Hebrew-letter-Hebrew-digit sequence
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97622 Bug ID: 97622 Summary: Excessive space between adjacent Hebrew-letter-Hebrew-digit sequence Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.5.1 rc Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: eyal...@technion.ac.il Reproduction: 1. Create a new document 2. Set your input language to Hebrew 3. Type a Hebrew letter (say, Aleph: א) 4. Type a digit (say, 2) 5. Press Enter 6. Set your language to English 7. Type the sequence "a2" Result: There's a lot of space between the Aleph and the 2, while the a and the 2 have almost no space between them. This is surely incorrect behavior; it is also not what users expect from other apps, be it MS Word or even variable-space simple-text editors (gedit, kwrite, kate, leafpad, etc. etc.) Notes: - That this happens essentially regardless of the chose Hebrew font, or at least for ~10 fonts I tried. - I've experienced this at least as early as 4.x , probably earlier, I just don't remember since I did not heavily use LO/OO earlier than that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97619] New: "Update to Match Selection" Feature is Broken
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97619 Bug ID: 97619 Summary: "Update to Match Selection" Feature is Broken Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: milkserv...@gmail.com The "Update to Match Selection" is broken in a way that makes the feature unusable. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a new document 2. Enter some words separated by newlines 3. The text has Paragraph Style "Default Style" by default 4. Select the first line and set the text to Bold 5. With the first line still selected, open the "Apply Style" dropdown and press the small arrow next to "Heading 1", then choose "Update to Match Selection" Expected result: The style "Heading 1" should be updated to match the formatting of the selection, and the Paragraph Style of the selected paragraph should be updated to "Heading 1". The look of the paragraph should not change. Actual result: The style "Heading 1" stays untouched. Instead the "Default Style" is updated with the formatting of the selection. The Paragraph Style of the selected paragraph does not change. In the whole document all paragraphs using the "Default Style" are updated with the new formatting. Additional Notes: This works correctly in Microsoft Word. This bug breaks the feature completely, as there is no way to update any Paragraph Style with the actual styling of a given paragraph, unless the paragraph already has that Paragraph Style. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
