[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92478] CRASH when open "scan > scanner source" on windows 10 x64.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92478 --- Comment #15 from Helmut Leininger --- Just a remark, I don't know if it helps. I tried to scan with Corel Paintshop Pro X7 in Windows 10 64-bit (and Epson V600 scanner) with the following experience: Paintshop 64-bit version does not find a scanner. Paintshop 32-bit version woeks ok. For me, if the software/drivers delivered with the scanner are not 64-bit, you will not be able to use it in a "standard way" with 64-bit software. The difference to LO is that Paintshop 64-bit does not offer to select a scanner, whereas LO does and crashes afterwards. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92478 Julien Nabet changed: What|Removed |Added CC||michael.me...@collabora.com ||, serval2...@yahoo.fr --- Comment #14 from Julien Nabet --- About the fact it works on Win32 and not on Win64, I noticed this: 63 #if defined(_WIN32) 64 #define TWAIN_LIBNAME "TWAIN_32.DLL" 65 #define TWAIN_FUNCNAME "DSM_Entry" 66 #endif (see http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/extensions/source/scanner/scanwin.cxx#63) so for WIN64, TWAIN_LIBNAME is not defined at all or at minimum empty. TWAIN_LIBNAME is used in ImpTwain::ImplOpenSourceManager 252 if( pMod->load( OUString( TWAIN_LIBNAME ) ) ) 253 { 254 nCurState = 2; 255 256 pDSM = (DSMENTRYPROC) pMod->getSymbol(OUString(TWAIN_FUNCNAME)); (see http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/extensions/source/scanner/scanwin.cxx#246) but since we'll load nothing, pDSM will stay unchanged from the way it has been created by constructor: 152 ImpTwain::ImpTwain( ScannerManager& rMgr, const Link& rNotifyLink ) : 153 mxMgr( uno::Reference< scanner::XScannerManager >( static_cast< OWeakObject* >( &rMgr ), uno::UNO_QUERY) ), 154 mrMgr( rMgr ), 155 aNotifyLink( rNotifyLink ), 156 pDSM( NULL ), ie NULL. Finally, we arrive in ImpTwain::ImplHandleMsg with this instruction: nRet = PFUNC( &aAppIdent, &aSrcIdent, DG_CONTROL, DAT_EVENT, MSG_PROCESSEVENT, &aEvt ); and since PFUNC correspond to (*pDSM) => Crash! (see http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/extensions/source/scanner/scanwin.cxx#PFUNC) So should we remove "if defined(_WIN32)" and consider the 2 defines are ok? Or is there some TWAIN_64.DLL? The content.xml are corrupted by unknown issue. The only way to fix that is like that: First, let's call our nonopening ODT file as "bad.odt". 1- make backup FIRST -> "$ cp bad.odt bad_original.odt" 2- make new directory-> "$ mkdir repair" 3- copy bad.odt to repair directorty "$ cp bad.odt repair" 4- change default directory to repair -> "$ cd repair" 5- unzip bad.odt -> "$ unzip bad.odt" 6- after unzipping you get bunch of files and directory's under repair, find content.xml and open it whit your favorite text editor -> "$ kate content.xml" 7- use "find" function to find out, if you have XML tag "" (somewhere at the beginning of document) and XML tag "" (somewhere, middle of document). If you have, then delete them and all data between them. Be sure, that you don't delete more or less! 8- save content.xml (keep original name and place!) 9- zip extracted data back to one ODT document -> "$ zip -r ./bad_repaired.odt ./*" 10- try to open repaired document -> "$ ooffice ./bad_repaired.odt" Solution find here: https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1532 There is a possibility, when the soft detect an error in the content.xml to propose to fix it like that by itself ? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94221] Fontwork "text along path" has wrong text orientation
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94221 --- Comment #4 from Regina Henschel --- The problem has been introduced with https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=13c71694fce1bf0d9c968581e418886052d1c8c7 (Caolán McNamara) which replaces the old kind dialog with a "glade" dialog. The commit removed the defines in svx/source/dialog/fontwork.hrc. These has been 42#define TBI_STYLE_OFF 1 43#define TBI_STYLE_ROTATE2 44#define TBI_STYLE_UPRIGHT 3 45#define TBI_STYLE_SLANTX4 46#define TBI_STYLE_SLANTY5 ... In svx/source/dialog/fontwork.cxx it had been used as case XFT_ROTATE : nId = TBI_STYLE_ROTATE; and therefore nId had got the value "2". With the new dialog the enum XFormTextStyle from /core/include/svx/xenum.hxx is directly used. Now the statement in fontwork.cxx is case XFT_ROTATE : nId = nStyleRotateId; and therefore nId gets a wrong value. The same kind of error happens with the alignment settings and the shadow direction in that dialog. Please compare the old behavior, which you can still see in AOO, with the new behavior and you will notice, that the current action is shifted by one compared to the clicked button. You click "rotate" and get "upright", or you click "upright" and get "hori", or you click shadow "vertical" and get "slant". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78371] FORMATTING Add "Clear Direct Character Formatting" function
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78371 --- Comment #3 from Octavio Alvarez --- (In reply to Milos Sramek from comment #0) > The problem: > OmegaT (and other similar CAT tolls) breaks text in sentences, which are > then translated. It honours formating, which means that the translator sees > the formating tags (in OmegaT they are abbreviated e.g., to text The problem is that "Clear Direct Formatting" removes all direct formating - > in the case of LO guides it breaks headers, lists etc. The reason may be > that the guides were not written "the right way". However, even authors of > the LO guides do not use LO "the right way". I tried to reproduce it: I created a new document with sample text and applied lists (both, directly and by list styles) and a header. I did "Select All" and tested both "Clear Direct Formatting" and "Clear Formatting" from the "Apply Styles" dropdown [*]. The result was: lists and headers were kept appropriately. So I could not reproduce in LibO 5.1.3.1 on Debian Sid. Maybe the "not using the right way" is getting in between? Can you point us to a sample problematic guide? [*] "Clear Direct Formatting" does what it says: it clears just direct formatting (direct paragraph, character, etc.). OTOH, "Clear Formatting" from the dropdown will clear all direct formatting *and* set character styles to Default and paragraph styles to Text Body. > I think that introduction of the "Clear Direct Character Formatting" > (cleaning up stuff only inside paragraphs withou influencing the rest) would > solve this problem. It will make translation of odt files by CAT tools > possible. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99682] New: Cannot maximize LO on small netbook screen
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99682 Bug ID: 99682 Summary: Cannot maximize LO on small netbook screen Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.1.1.3 release Hardware: x86 (IA32) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: laserhaw...@gmail.com I have a small netbook with a small screen (~2009 ASUS 1000HE with 1024x600 screen), which I like to use as a typewriter of sorts. My OS of choice is Puppy Linux, specifically, a community-developed version (it's complicated) called X-Tahr 1b3. X-Tahr is Puppy with XFCE, and X-Tahr is Ubuntu Trusty Tahr compatible Puppy (X-Tahr 1b3 is based on TahrPup 6.0.2). X-Tahr can be had here (support thread with links to download in first post) --> http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=99849 I'm using LibreOffice 5.1.1.3, although this issue was also present in 5.0.4 -- I upgraded LO in an attempt to fix the issue, and that did not work. My version of LibreOffice is packaged as a SquashFS file by Puppy user "Puppus Dogfellow", which (at least within Puppy) allows for a modular load/unload scheme, rather than permanently installing the software. (Puppy is a little different!) I've not had issues with LO until now, and --from what I recall-- the 4xx series LibreOffices did not have this issue at all. The issue is that I cannot properly 'maximize' LO. It fills the screen, so that I can sort of see the status bar and about half of the lowest line of text through my taskbar (translucent). Maybe I'm a perfectionist, but I find that positively infuriating. Clicking on the 'maximize' button on the title bar doesn't work; in fact, LO seems to think that it /is/ mazimized, because that button shows one window box (as if maximized), rather than two window boxes one on top of the other (not maximized). I can move it around the screen fine, but I can't shrink it vertically. I can grow and shrink it horizontally, and I can grow it vertically, but that's all. Changing the window size does not fix the problem, or enable it to be fixed, either. Please don't tell me to upgrade my system, as this is not a hardware problem. (Being a 'hardware guy', I don't get to say that too often!) That would also necessarily miss the point -- I want LO to work on my system, not someone else's... Also, while I can compile to a limited extent (given explain-like-I'm-five instructions, I can compile a graphics driver, and I did exactly that several hundred times, over about six months, with the OpenChrome project) -- LibreOffice is a little, er, large for me to feel comfortable compiling it from scratch. That's a little like going from an Estes rocket to something on the order of getting a Progress craft to the ISS, at least to me... I'm just not equipped for that, yet.
