[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92478] CRASH when open "scan > scanner source" on windows 10 x64.

2016-05-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92478

--- Comment #15 from Helmut Leininger  ---
Just a remark, I don't know if it helps.

I tried to scan with Corel Paintshop Pro X7 in Windows 10 64-bit (and Epson
V600 scanner) with the following experience:

Paintshop 64-bit version does not find a scanner.
Paintshop 32-bit version woeks ok.

For me, if the software/drivers delivered with the scanner are not 64-bit, you
will not be able to use it in a "standard way" with 64-bit software. The
difference to LO is that Paintshop 64-bit does not offer to select a scanner,
whereas LO does and crashes afterwards.

Removing easyHack, since the purpose of easy hacks are to learn new
contributors how to use the tools used by LO (like gerrit etc). I do believe
this is easy to solve, but do not help lower the ladder for new contributors in
respect of learning how LO works.

Example of Subscript formatting not working in ToC

Similar to Bug 30732

formatting are now kept. However in Table of Figures or Table of Illustrations
they are not.

Presume same issue needs same fix.

Example default ODT attached.

reasonable. Can imagine a number of "repair" utilities for correcting corrupt

pyatspi accessible-event listener

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch the attached pyatspi accessible-event listener in a terminal
2. Launch LibreOffice Writer
3. Type a few characters in the document and arrow left and right
4. Press Ctrl+F for Find Text text widget
5. Type a few characters in Find Text text widget and arrow left and right

Expected results: During step 3 and during step 5, object:text-caret-moved
events would be seen each time the caret moves, both for input and for
arrowing.

Actual results: Things work as expected for the document (step 3), but fail
completely for the Find Text text widget (step 5).

I can reproduce this in both 5.1.3.1 and 5.2.0.0 alpha 1.

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||michael.me...@collabora.com
   ||, serval2...@yahoo.fr

--- Comment #14 from Julien Nabet  ---
About the fact it works on Win32 and not on Win64, I noticed this:

 63 #if defined(_WIN32)
 64 #define TWAIN_LIBNAME   "TWAIN_32.DLL"
 65 #define TWAIN_FUNCNAME  "DSM_Entry"
 66 #endif
(see
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/extensions/source/scanner/scanwin.cxx#63)

so for WIN64, TWAIN_LIBNAME is not defined at all or at minimum empty.
TWAIN_LIBNAME is used in ImpTwain::ImplOpenSourceManager
252 if( pMod->load( OUString( TWAIN_LIBNAME  ) ) )
253 {
254 nCurState = 2;
255
256 pDSM = (DSMENTRYPROC)
pMod->getSymbol(OUString(TWAIN_FUNCNAME));
(see
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/extensions/source/scanner/scanwin.cxx#246)

but since we'll load nothing, pDSM will stay unchanged from the way it has been
created by constructor:
152 ImpTwain::ImpTwain( ScannerManager& rMgr, const Link& rNotifyLink ) :
153 mxMgr( uno::Reference< scanner::XScannerManager >(
static_cast< OWeakObject* >( &rMgr ), uno::UNO_QUERY) ),
154 mrMgr( rMgr ),
155 aNotifyLink( rNotifyLink ),
156 pDSM( NULL ),

ie NULL.

Finally, we arrive in ImpTwain::ImplHandleMsg with this instruction:
nRet = PFUNC( &aAppIdent, &aSrcIdent, DG_CONTROL, DAT_EVENT, MSG_PROCESSEVENT,
&aEvt );

and since PFUNC correspond to (*pDSM) => Crash!
(see
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/extensions/source/scanner/scanwin.cxx#PFUNC)

So should we remove "if defined(_WIN32)" and consider the 2 defines are ok?

Or is there some TWAIN_64.DLL?

Michael: any idea who may have some experience with scanner/Twain?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99686] New: content.xml corrupted

Corrupted file

I help sometimes people on a French forum (I'm French), and I see often people
speak about corrupted files. The content.xml are corrupted by unknown issue.
The only way to fix that is like that:

First, let's call our nonopening ODT file as "bad.odt".
1- make backup FIRST -> "$ cp bad.odt bad_original.odt"
2- make new directory-> "$ mkdir repair"
3- copy bad.odt to repair directorty "$ cp bad.odt repair"
4- change default directory to repair -> "$ cd repair"
5- unzip bad.odt -> "$ unzip bad.odt"
6- after unzipping you get bunch of files and directory's under repair, find
content.xml and open it whit your favorite text editor -> "$ kate content.xml"
7- use "find" function to find out, if you have XML tag
"" (somewhere at the beginning of document) and XML
tag "" (somewhere, middle of document). If you have,
then delete them and all data between them. Be sure, that you don't delete more
or less!
8- save content.xml (keep original name and place!)
9- zip extracted data back to one ODT document -> "$ zip -r ./bad_repaired.odt
./*"
10- try to open repaired document -> "$ ooffice ./bad_repaired.odt"

Solution find here: https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1532

There is a possibility, when the soft detect an error in the content.xml to
propose to fix it like that by itself ?

I put a document corrupted in attachment.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99685] New: Slides are flashing at the end of fading transition (impress)

2016-05-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99685

Bug ID: 99685
   Summary: Slides are flashing at the end of fading transition
(impress)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: go...@free.fr

Created attachment 124847
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=124847&action=edit
Presentation used for this bug

I'm using the following presentation.
I've set the fading transition (in french : fondu) on all slides

I'm using a laptop computer HP4740s (with Intel+Radeon graphic system) under
Windows 10.

When I launch my presentation, each slide has a remanent previous slide
flashing : it's very curious and I can't snapshot it with internal software
(like NCH Debut)... but I've used my phone with slowmotion function and I've
got it !

Video is 7 seconds (20 Mo) but it happens at 6 seconds. Hope to give enough
proof to help you, guys.
The link for the video is :
http://david.roumanet.free.fr/BTS_2015/20160504_234409.mp4

PS : this bug is probably linked with other bug but I'm not sure (5.2 has
corrected a lot of problem with transitions and colors fading that went wrong
while fading but flashing still there and Linux users seems to be not impacted,
so I suspect some graphical properties of Windows. My PC isn't modified, you
can use it reference to see the graphic card).
I use dual screen (with many screen or videoprojector) and I've the same
problem.

I am mainly using proprietary fonts emulating old-style German lettering and
handwriting created by http://www.fraktur.biz/. But I guess, also other
OpenType smart fonts will cause issues.

I'm not sure to understand your test.
You noticed (and I agree you), that DocumentConverter needs 4 args, not 3.
But you tried this:
"/home/user/projects/test" "pdf" "pdf"  "/tmp/"
(your program with 3 args)
What about this:
"/home/user/projects/test" "" "pdf"
"pdf"  "/tmp/"
?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94221] Fontwork "text along path" has wrong text orientation

2016-05-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94221

--- Comment #4 from Regina Henschel  ---
The problem has been introduced with
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=13c71694fce1bf0d9c968581e418886052d1c8c7
(Caolán McNamara)
which replaces the old kind dialog with a "glade" dialog. The commit removed
the defines in svx/source/dialog/fontwork.hrc. These has been
42#define TBI_STYLE_OFF   1
43#define TBI_STYLE_ROTATE2
44#define TBI_STYLE_UPRIGHT   3
45#define TBI_STYLE_SLANTX4
46#define TBI_STYLE_SLANTY5
...

In
svx/source/dialog/fontwork.cxx
it had been used as
case XFT_ROTATE : nId = TBI_STYLE_ROTATE;
and therefore nId had got the value "2".

With the new dialog the enum XFormTextStyle from
/core/include/svx/xenum.hxx
is directly used.

Now the statement in fontwork.cxx is
case XFT_ROTATE : nId = nStyleRotateId;
and therefore nId gets a wrong value.

The same kind of error happens with the alignment settings and the shadow
direction in that dialog. Please compare the old behavior, which you can still
see in AOO, with the new behavior and you will notice, that the current action
is shifted by one compared to the clicked button. You click "rotate" and get
"upright", or you click "upright" and get "hori", or you click shadow
"vertical" and get "slant".

I tried to reproduce it: I created a new document with sample text and applied
lists (both, directly and by list styles) and a header. I did "Select All" and
tested both "Clear Direct Formatting" and "Clear Formatting" from the "Apply
Styles" dropdown [*]. The result was: lists and headers were kept
appropriately. So I could not reproduce in LibO 5.1.3.1 on Debian Sid.

Maybe the "not using the right way" is getting in between? Can you point us to
a sample problematic guide?

[*] "Clear Direct Formatting" does what it says: it clears just direct
formatting (direct paragraph, character, etc.). OTOH, "Clear Formatting" from
the dropdown will clear all direct formatting *and* set character styles to
Default and paragraph styles to Text Body.

I am also of the idea that "Clear Direct [__styletype__] Formatting" should
exist somewhere.

What do you mean by "stored on the home network"? Is it smb, ftp, something
else? Does it work with other apps, just not with LO?

Anyway, I can't reproduce with Ubuntu 16.04 with smb share. Double click in
Files works just fine here.

At least for smb, you need libreoffice-gnome (that you already have) + make
sure you have gvfs packages properly installed.

2016-05-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99684

Bug ID: 99684
   Summary: Corner radius of rounded rectangle can be set by
dragging point, but not by entering a value
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stanislav.hora...@gmail.com

1. In Writer, choose "Rectangle, Rounded" on the Drawing toolbar.
2. Draw a rectangle. You will see a yellow point near its corner - you can
adjust the corner radius by dragging it.
3. In context menu of the rectangle, choose "Position and Size" and go to the
"Slant & Corner Radius" tab. The "Radius" field is disabled and the radius
cannot be set by a value.

The UI for radius has been disabled for rectangles because it was not preserved
after document reopen (see bug 39907) - but this seems not to be the case.

Tested in 5.0.5 and 5.1.2, Ubuntu 15.10.

Found a clue. There's this setting in Windows 7: Control Panel -> Region and
Language -> Administrative tab -> Language for non-Unicode programs: Change
system locale...

If that is set to English (United States) for example, the font displays
correctly. If it's set to Hungarian (Hungary), the first character is shown as
square. I bet changing it to Urmas' locale will show the two squares.

Setting to new, adjusting earliest version (reproducible in v3.3.0 as well),
and OS to Windows.

Whoops, sorry for that duplicate.

I'm having the same issue in an XFCE version of Puppy Linux, LO 5.0.4 and

issue. Retested here. Could no longer reproduce.

Since there is no specific commit fixing this issue, setting to WORKSFORME.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99682] New: Cannot maximize LO on small netbook screen

2016-05-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99682

Bug ID: 99682
   Summary: Cannot maximize LO on small netbook screen
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.1.3 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: laserhaw...@gmail.com

I have a small netbook with a small screen (~2009 ASUS 1000HE with 1024x600
screen), which I like to use as a typewriter of sorts. My OS of choice is Puppy
Linux, specifically, a community-developed version (it's complicated) called
X-Tahr 1b3. X-Tahr is Puppy with XFCE, and X-Tahr is Ubuntu Trusty Tahr
compatible Puppy (X-Tahr 1b3 is based on TahrPup 6.0.2).

X-Tahr can be had here (support thread with links to download in first post)
--> http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=99849

I'm using LibreOffice 5.1.1.3, although this issue was also present in 5.0.4 --
I upgraded LO in an attempt to fix the issue, and that did not work. My version
of LibreOffice is packaged as a SquashFS file by Puppy user "Puppus Dogfellow",
which (at least within Puppy) allows for a modular load/unload scheme, rather
than permanently installing the software. (Puppy is a little different!) I've
not had issues with LO until now, and --from what I recall-- the 4xx series
LibreOffices did not have this issue at all.

The issue is that I cannot properly 'maximize' LO. It fills the screen, so that
I can sort of see the status bar and about half of the lowest line of text
through my taskbar (translucent). Maybe I'm a perfectionist, but I find that
positively infuriating. Clicking on the 'maximize' button on the title bar
doesn't work; in fact, LO seems to think that it /is/ mazimized, because that
button shows one window box (as if maximized), rather than two window boxes one
on top of the other (not maximized). I can move it around the screen fine, but
I can't shrink it vertically. I can grow and shrink it horizontally, and I can
grow it vertically, but that's all. Changing the window size does not fix the
problem, or enable it to be fixed, either.

Please don't tell me to upgrade my system, as this is not a hardware problem.
(Being a 'hardware guy', I don't get to say that too often!) That would also
necessarily miss the point -- I want LO to work on my system, not someone
else's...

Also, while I can compile to a limited extent (given explain-like-I'm-five
instructions, I can compile a graphics driver, and I did exactly that several
hundred times, over about six months, with the OpenChrome project) --
LibreOffice is a little, er, large for me to feel comfortable compiling it from
scratch. That's a little like going from an Estes rocket to something on the
order of getting a Progress craft to the ISS, at least to me... I'm just not
equipped for that, yet.

All of that said, please send halp.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99681] New: Footer Transparency NOT being saved as docx

2016-05-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99681

Bug ID: 99681
   Summary: Footer Transparency NOT being saved as docx
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: barnaby@scivisum.co.uk

1.) Start a Document
2.) Click in Footer
3.) Click insert -> image
4.) (Insert an image) (Footer image is completely visible as footer)
5.) Save as .docx
6.) Close document
7.) Reopen document

Footer image is now obscured by white box

8.) Click in footer
9.) Click Format Footer
10.) Transparency Tab -> Set to 100%
11.) click Apply

Footer image is now visible once more

12.) Click save as a .docx
13.) Close Document
14.) Reopen document

Footer image is now obscured by white box

Essentially the behaviour appears to be that the footer transparency is NOT
saved/loaded correctly when using a .docx (2007-2013).

Workaround for now would be good but can't seem to find one.

The original report (anonimized)

Hello.

I am using LO Writer for a report.
But I just found that when I export the document to a pdf (which is the format
in which I am supposed to deliver it to my client), many of the objects (images
or charts coming from LO Calc) are simply missing.

Examples : see pages 31, 33, 39, etc ..

More confusing : I have series of charts copied-pasted from the same LO Calc
file. It is actually the same chart copied several times but wit different data
(I can change it dynamically in Calc), and sometimes the chart appears in the
pdf and sometimes it does not.
See pages 41 to 43.
