[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99834] UI: tool bar: adding application/input line results in unusable button instead of input line like in formula bar

It is not intended to create a new instance of > the formula input widget. Not a bug. If that is all that "button" is supposed to do, it doesn't seem to work, and is of dubious use on a computer with a mouse. > > However, you can already hide the Formula Bar (which is *not* a simple > button toolbar and so doesn't have button customization of other toolbars) ?? how does the formula bar differ from other tool bars (such as the format tool bar) except for the single entry line field ?? The rest of the formula bar is buttons or drop-down lists. > and then insert the button for the "Function" wizard. It is a pop-out dialog > of course unlike the formula bar--but provides all the same integrated > functions for manipulating cell/sheet formulas. > > It can be used without a button, reachable with the Calc short-cut of > +F2, but if you want a toolbar button... > > As an enhancement, I'm not sure providing a toolbar widget for just the > Input Line part of the Formula Bar/Function wizard for use in other toolbar > customization makes any sense. Especially as you can already directly enter > the simple formula the Input Line into the target cell, or review it > graphically with a selection of the cell--what is gained by having the Input > Line show in a toolbar other than the hiding the Formula Bar? Then why have the input line field in the formula bar ? It does display clearly what is in the input field, often not clear in small cells. If one doesn't want to see the other fields in the formula bar, why wouldn't it be reasonable to add this field to another tool bar ? This could allow displaying tool bar items in fewer lines, thus freeing up screen space for the cells + other apps. As stated in the initial comment, being able to customize the formula bar would also solve the problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Since merging the two is a bit of a pain, would it be possible to consolidate and maintain the package as one? Or is it better to do the merging once, and later only update the changed dictionary files? (the files to be merged are like: description.xml, dictionaries.xcu, manifest.xml) I'm also wondering, does the current setup (old shipped dictionary with sentence check + current extension without sentence check) mean that once the extension is installed, the English sentence check becomes unavailable? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99922] New: vector notation does not work with "over" type devision
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99922 Bug ID: 99922 Summary: vector notation does not work with "over" type devision Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.2.8.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Formula Editor Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: cramj...@gmail.com Created attachment 125131 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=125131=edit example of how this formula doesn't work properly I am trying to write an equation where I am dividing two vectors by each other and I would like to use the {}over{} notation to do it. However when I do this, the “hat” that designates that the symbols are vectors are poorly positioned. In the denominator, the hat is just above the line and in the numerator the hat seems to be outside of the equation box and not visible. This does not seem to be a problem with other symbols that go over variables, such as the acute accent or the tilde. It is a problem with both vec and widevec An example formula that creates this is provided below vec {m} = Cm ({vec {%rho_p}} over { vec{%rho_s} }) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99839] Page numbering work proprely but the translation in German is in one case incorrect.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99839 --- Comment #4 from nopromp...@email.de --- I continue: II. Now we consider the other possibility b) where the translation is incorrect in the second row. Click in LibreOffice Writer up in the first row on the term "Einfügen" (in the English version might be "Insertion" or "Insert" or perhaps another similar expression.) Consider there in line 2 "Feldbefehl" and click on it. You will see the next pull down menu. Consider there line 3 "Seitennummer" [that is correct!] and line 4 "Seitenzahl" [that is incorrect!]. Correct would be "Seitenanzahl"! Compare with the correct term in case I. Therefore look back at I. possibility a). Comments: - Here is not a single number of a page meant ("Seitenzahl") but the sum of the pages is meant (in German "Seitenanzahl"). The problem is: In German colloquial language "Seitenzahl" is an indifferent expression. With this feeling for language "Seitenzahl" could have two different meanings: "Seitennummer" but also "Seitenanzahl". To avoid confusion we use in strictly mathematical manner "Seitenanzahl" and not "Seitenzahl". - For a better understanding and for correcting the mistake You and the other developers should have usable the German Version of Libreoffice Writer, Version: 5.1.2.2 (x64). - I hope that I could show You the problem clearly and convincingly. - It interests me: what is the English equivalent of the German "Seitenanzahl" and how is it named in the versions of LibreOffice? - I hope my writing together with LibreOffice Writer will help You to understand the problem and to solve it. - I am also interested in an English version of LibreOffice. I hope that I can hereby contribute a little bit to the improvement of LibreOffice. I really enjoy working with LibreOffice. Your answer is welcome. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99839] Page numbering work proprely but the translation in German is in one case incorrect.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99839 --- Comment #3 from nopromp...@email.de --- LibreOffice Writer Version: 5.1.2.2 (x64), German edition Dear Developers of LibreOffice Writer, Thank You for Your message. I prefere the following method to describe the current problem because this is much more faster! In Writer I found a little bug. It is only one small problem with the tanslation from English into German. It relates to the designation of the pages: first the indication of the current page number and secondly specifying the total pages of the document. In the current German edition I found therefore in LibreOffice Writer two ways: a) One way is absolutely correct. b) The other way includes the small translation error, but the calculated result is also correct. This matter has motivated me to report the error in b). So it's just about to correct the little mistake in the translation of b). For a better understanding of a) and b) I try to explain it in a structured way: I. We begin with a) where everything is correct. Click in LibreOffice Writer up in the second row on the icon #. You will see the associated pull down menu. Consider in the pull down menu line 1 "Seitennummer" (in English "page number") and line 2 "Seitenanzahl" (in English "page Count", total pages of the document). Note: There is "Seitenanzahl" and not "Seitenzahl"! Result: The two terms "Seitennummer" and "Seitenanzahl" are properly translated from English into German. Where "Seitennummer" the current page number is. It means the number of the page which the document is showing at the moment. And "Seitenanzahl" is specifying the total pages. It means the sum of the pages of the entire document. II. Now we consider the other possibility b) where the translation is incorrect in the second row. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
