Works for me - 5.3 and 5.1.5
Almost certainly fixed by bug 99090 since a bibisect of when the bug was fixed

I found where LibreOffice displays the extension proof of concept.

It's in the sidebar, if you go to "sidebar settings" there will be a "ToolPanel
Proof of Concept" item after the "Function" item.

I am not sure yet if this is intended behaviour or just a result of changes to
LibreOffice since. If it is intended behaviour the readme with this example
should be updated to reflect current mount point in the UI.

First step should be to investigate what should be happening.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101676] Cells with formulas to linked file return shifted cell information

2016-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101676

I have two linked files through formulas. If I want to copy the cells to a
presentation as a GDI Metafile the cells that have linked formulas don't paste
the data. Instead they show NA.

I use = to connect one sheet to the other.
To eliminate the error when pasting I copy the cells and paste them as number
(since that makes the paste to presentation work)
Copy the cells to past in presentation
Paste as GDI Metafile
Use control-Z in the sheet to revert back to formulas
Cell data is shifted down one row
If the original sheet is open I can reselect the correct cells
I can also just F2 and backspace the last cell number, retype it and close the
cell and it gathers the correct cell.

file does not exist bogus error message

This bug is similar – BUT NOT THE SAME – as Bug 40244.

I had just deleted everything from an old drive partition as part of a clean up
project. Wanted to put a file in that partition as a message that clean up had
been done.

Attempted to write that file [1] to hard drive formatted with ext4.
Got error message [2].
Discovered that the directory was owned by “root”. Of course, the file was
being edited by “user”.

Error Message [2] is therefore bogus. Should read like [3], [4] or [5].

This is LibreOffice as packaged with Mint Linux 18.
It reports itself as:
Version: 5.1.4.2
Build ID: 1:5.1.4-0ubuntu1

Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)

[3] "Error saving the document ….. User cannot write to directory owned by

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated yesterday, I could reproduce
this.

I included some extra gdb traces.

The problem is

 77 "TemplateDialog" +
OUString::number((sal_uInt16)nRegion),

nRegion = SfxStyleFamily::Table

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101646] UI option "Scaling" is missing

No, a desktop change is more complicated and has to be reverted each time
because a PC in a classroom will be used by another teacher with a different
subject in the next lesson. The font scaling of LibreOffice is my personal user
setting and does not affect others and will still be there in my next lesson.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99625] CONCAT and TEXTJOIN return (wrongly?) an array when " text argument" is a CSE array.

2016-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99625

(Just a silly workaround.)
Meanwhile you will get the expected scalar results with CONCAT and TEXTJOIN
entered for evaluation in array mode using formulae like
{=INDEX(CONCAT(A1:A10&B1:B10);1} or
{=INDEX(TEXTJOIN(", ";TRUE();A1:A10&B1:B10);1)}

This is not avoiding bad results due to bugs concerning the array-evaluation of
the concatenation operator & (e.g. A1:A10&B1:B10) as discussed in bug#101137.

Bug ID: 101672
Summary: UNO command for non-split button underline
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com

Blocks: 86899

In 5.2, the underline uno command (.uno:Underline) was modified into a split
button, but the original non-split button underline uno command was is useful
to be used in various locations (e.g. single toolbar mode) where there is
limited horizontal space or when the non-split button look is wanted/needed.

Actually what this is about is the evaluation of =A1:A10&B1:B10 in array mode,
unrelated to CONCAT or TEXTJOIN (whether those should produce an array or not
is topic in bug 99625).

This can easily be seen when in attachment 126887 entering =A1:A10&B1:B10 with
Shift+Ctrl+Enter for example at C42. The resulting 10 cells don't match the
concatenated Ax&Bx for each line.

The choice is done through the following environment variable:
for GTK2 : export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN="gtk"
for GTK3 : export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN="gtk3"

Under Ubuntu, I set this environment variable in .bashrc and in .profile
It works only if both packages libreoffice-gtk and libreoffice-gtk3 are
installed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101671] New: Menu background color shouldnt be used for coloring UI

2016-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master

various UI affected by this bug

LibreOffice is incorrectly using the menu background color to fill various
parts of the UI as can be seen in the attached image and this cause problems
with many gtk2 themes and possibly gtk3 themes.

This was previously reported in launchpad when it showed up in Ubuntu Mate -
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1550990

This bug showed up previously in the sidebar and was fixed like so -

I have submitted a patch for this bug report.[0] It adds the delete button. I
appreciate comments/reviews.

I'll continue with the other buttons after this patch. Can we say that we are
going to add "Delete" (already submitted the related patch), "Reset", and "Add
Separator" buttons; so the final appearance of the buttons would be like this?
  -"Add"
  -"Modify"
  -"Delete"
  -"Reset"
  -"Add Separator"

The order of the first four buttons seems right, but I don't know where to put
the "Add Separator" button.

The per file stuff should be in the File > Properties dialog (bug 83325), as
mixing both the per file and global settings in the option dialog would be
highly confusing.

Stephan Bergmann changed:

The value of $(work) is taken from the
/org.openoffice.Office/Paths/Variables/Work configuration property (defaulting
to the home dir if that property is not set; cf.
SubstitutePathVariables::GetWorkVariableValue in
framework/source/services/substitutepathvars.cxx).

On Linux, that configuration property is an "external" property, querying a
value from a desktop backend
(oor:external="com.sun.star.configuration.backend.DesktopBackend
WorkPathVariable", officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Paths.xcu).

For GNOME-based desktops:

* Until LO 5.0 there was a GConf-based desktop backend that returned the value
of XDG_DOCUMENTS_DIR *if that value denoted an existing directory*. (And
otherwise, the fallback to the home dir would kick in.)

* In LO 5.1, that GConf-based desktop backend has been removed, without
replacement (3cf557c12d27f1b2250e69a543136da098112d80 "drop gconf integration
as per ESC decision"). So the fallback to the home dir always kicks in.

* In LO 5.2, support for XDG_DOCUMENTS_DIR (and XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR) has been
added back into the generic Linux desktop backend code (i.e., the code that
isn't specific to GNOME but also handles KDE etc.;
b5c05876f73c31270bc374e4f481ef1d09a42e5f "Related: rhbz#1065807 recover using
xdg templates and documents settings"), *but in a way so that the value of
XDG_DOCUMENTS_DIR is always returned, regardless of whether that value denotes
an existing directory or not.* (So the home dir fallback does not kick in.)

(For KDE-based desktops, prior to LO 5.2 the value had been obtained through a
call to KGlobalSettings::documentPath(), and reported back regardless of
whether the dir would exist; presumably, the net effect of reading
KGlobalSettings::documentPath() vs. XDG_DOCUMENTS_DIR is the same.)

LO: back to
Version: 5.0.0.0.beta3
Build-ID: 96345c15d8ab19c49014f055fe41ba8e1f421e5c

(my oldest version on my laptop, parallel installed, following the instructions
from https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux. As this
feature was introduced with this version, I will change the version info of
this bug adequately ... ;) ).

For other QA members to reproduce:
1. Start Impress
2. Insert any character or a word
3. Mark the character or (a port of) the word
3. Click on the down arrow right to "Highlight Color" in the Sidebar and choose
a colour
4. Press to confirm that your character / word got the background colour
you selected
5 Press to start the presentation

You will then see that your selected background colour is not shown in the
presentation ... :(

Thomas.

Bugs in WMF-generation software :)

Instead of correctly writing the LOGFONT structures for "Symbol" font with
CharSet = RTL_TEXTENCODING_SYMBOL, they put there CharSet = OEM_CHARSET.

So, I need to enable special handling for that special-case font.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101664] New: Formatting : disappearance of the initials after closing a document

2016-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101664

Bug ID: 101664
Summary: Formatting : disappearance of the initials after
closing a document
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: i...@dutailly.net

Created attachment 126963
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126963&action=edit
Hybrid pdf when you can see the document (pdf) and the forgotten initials (odt)

When you have paragraphs with parametrized initials (lettrines in French), even
if it is in the style of the paragraph. When you close the document and you
reopen it, the initials disappeared. You have to parametrize them again.

It works (if we can use such a word for that...) for old and news files.

So, when was the last time you built cleanly?

Poppler was updated including several of the patches 2016-08-14 with
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=1029117b562e3f179c3d1073774dd54cdfee

subsequent to that?

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)

Hello @ll
while trying to configure LO to my likings I went to "Tools - Options -
LibreOfficeDev - Colors", but LO immediately crashes ... :(

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start LO
2. Go to "Tools - Options"
3. Either use the arrow down key to get there or click on "Colors"

LO immediately crashes and the Document Recovery window will pop up ... :( I
will attach a "--backtrace" and bzip'ed "--strace" log to this bug ... ;)
Sorry for the inconvenience
Thomas
