I can confirm this bug also with LO 5.2.3.3 (Win 8.1). The indentation and the
spacing between the bullet and text is increased in LO compared to Word for
both sample files. This is particularly obvious and easy to see in the second
sample.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104021] New: add tabs on open office writer

2016-11-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104021

Bug ID: 104021
Summary: add tabs on open office writer
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: 123be...@gmail.com

Hello,

I suggest you to add tabs on open office word processor.

Actually no word processing propose tabs. The tabs are no useful for print on
paper but we are in 2016 and the most text files you have in your computer are
not dedicated to be printed ! And in this situation tabs are very useful!
Please be smarter than microsoft and others. Think 21th century!

best regard

PS. it's not a bug. Why do you want I report this as a bug?
PS2. I'm french and I don't understand all (because english is not my native
langage and not "only" because I'm french ;)

That was looking at _installed_ for 5.2.3.3,
102.7 with 1008 characters 1012 glyphs

But yes, current master shows:
102.8 with 1030 characters & 1034 glyphs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104020] New: FILESAVE Saving business cards loses positioning of image

2016-11-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104020

Bug ID: 104020
Summary: FILESAVE Saving business cards loses positioning of
image
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: t...@heavyweightsoftware.com

I have attached the problematic file. When you open it, (it doesn't matter
whether you update the links) you will see that the images are aligned with the
top margin. Move the image.

Right click on the top left image and click format image. Change position to
horizontal, center, to paragraph text area and vertical, center, to paragraph
text area and hit OK. Click Synchronize Labels.

Everything appears correctly. This is how it should look. Save it and close
writer.

Re-open the document. Images are again jacked up.

Hmm, looking at OpenSymbol v 102.7 not sure how I missed them when last I
looked, but we also have the other alternates:

U+003C LESS-THAN SIGN <--> U+E084
U+003E GREATER-THAN SIGN <--> U+E085

So just the square dots of the obelus for U+00F7 DIVISION SIGN glyph might
benefit from a new glyph at some point.

Before making such a change, we need to make sure these symbols are only used

tdf#98882 DOCX import: set default para properties on the Standard para style
That's what the DOC import does, and that's the reason e.g. the strange
unwanted crop of the as-char anchored picture doesn't happen there.

This also needs the "reset all existing style properties back to
default" logic to be adapted: the Standard style has to be reset before
the default are set, and later it should be left alone, otherwise the
defaults are lost.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88921] Allow undoing changes to styles

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88921

Andreas B. changed:

   What|Removed |Added

In my Opinion this is a Bug, because it's working sometimes.

I list here, what is working and what not. If there would be nothing working, I
would say it's an enhancement, but with this list, I would say its a Bug.
(I didn't test every setting, this is only an Overview)
I changed the importance to "normal"

Working:
 Calc:
  Change name of a Style
  Changing Parent
  Change Font
  Change Font Effects
  Aligment
  Border
  Background
  Cell Protection
 Draw:
  Nothing found, not all Tested
 Writer:
  Change highlighter Color
  Indents and Spacing
  Alignment
  Text Flow
  Font
  Font effects
  Position
  Outline and Numbering
  Gradient
  Transparency
  Border

Not Working:
 Calc:
  Tab "Numbers" changing
 Draw:
  Background
  Line
  Change name of a Style
  Change Parent of a Style
  Font
  Transparency
 Writer:
  Change name of a Style

2016-11-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60650

Version: 5.2.2.2
Build-ID: 8f96e87c890bf8fa77463cd4b640a2312823f3ad
CPU-Threads: 2; BS-Version: Windows 6.2; UI-Render: Standard;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: group

no graphical error anymore, but title disappears still
Steps:
1. create new diagram with assistent
2. go on the step "4. diagram elements" (or similar) and type any title
3. click button to create diagram
4. double click on title to direct edit
5. select title text or part of it
6. hit ctrl+x or "cut" from menu (no effect can be seen!)
9. click anywhere outside of title box
10. title box disappears

The title does not disappear if copy is used instead of cut.
Cut does not seem to have any effect, still leads to bug.
Same happens with sub title and axis titles.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104019] New: Undo formatting in Textfields lost after Focus change

2016-11-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104019

Bug ID: 104019
Summary: Undo formatting in Textfields lost after Focus change
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.3.2 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: andreas_b...@bluewin.ch

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open draw, create A Texfield (or a Rectangle, works the same)
2. Write Text to the Textfield. To exactly reproduce my result copy this:
---
Test1
Test2
Test3
Test4
--
3. Set the Cursor to "Test3", set Press "Center" or CTRL+E to center the text
4. Press CTRL+Z, the Text "Test3" is now left aligned again, as expected

5. Delete the Textfield.
6. Repeat Step 1 to 3
7. Click outside the Textfield, the Textfield lost the Foucus and the Editing
border.
8. Press CTRL+Z

Expected Result:
The Text "Test3" is now left aligned

Current Result:
The whole Text is deleted!

with Draw.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104018] New: Style lost parent on saving as .odg

2016-11-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104018

Bug ID: 104018
Summary: Style lost parent on saving as .odg
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.3.2 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: andreas_b...@bluewin.ch

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new Draw document
2. Create a new Style: right click to "Default", "New..."
3. The name of this Style is "Untitled1"
4. Go to Tab "Line", change the color to red, set width to 0.20cm, so the line
is good visible
5. Press OK, there is now a new Style "Untitled1" in the Sidebar
6. Right click on "Untitled1", "New..."
7. The name of this Style is "Untitled2"
8. Go to tab "Area", set fill color to green
9. Press OK, there is now a Style "Untitled2" in the Sidebar, which is a Child
of "Untitled1".
(The Properties Dialog shows Inherit from "Untitled1")
10. Create a Rectangle, Apply Style "Untitled2". The Rect gets a red border and
green background.
11. Save the file as test.odg
12. Close Draw
13. Open draw again, open test.odg

Expected Result:
There is a green Rect with a red line.

Current Result:
The Rect has still a green background, but no red border anymore.
The Style "Untitled2" has no parent, (Inherit from "-None-"). It's in the same
Position as "Default".

Some interesting Details:
in styles.xml I found this entry:

How to fix it:
1. Drag & Drop the Style "Untitled2" to "Untitled1"
2. Save the file again

Look now at styles.xml:

The Style is now Saved.

you offer me to buy a new monitor with HiDPI? i don't have a lot of money for
this.
There are a lot of people with bad vision, who use scaling of GUI. They all
must to save up for the a new monitor?
you, before delete of option for implementation of HiDPI support, make first
good customization of GUI.
Or we create LibreOffice not for users, and for developers?

DOCX filter: effect extent should be part of the margin
OOXML has an object size (extent) a size including effects like shadow (effect
extent) and the margin (top/bottom/left/right distance). Our doc model doesn't
have an explicit "effect extent", but to have the intended layout, we at least
need the spacing of the effect around flys (even if a number of effects are not
rendered). Fix this by adding the effect extent to the margin; if we still have
the effect extent grab-bag around, then this can be undone during export.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101646] UI option "Scaling" is missing

2016-11-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101646

No, removing the scaling was correct as it was affecting implementation of
HiDPI support.

Believe same effect can/should be achieved with better integration with
assistive technology "magnifier" tools of the OS. And that would probably be
the correct way for the project to go especially as HiDPI gains prominence.

Believe transient exposure to a magnification tool, rather than scaling the
whole UI, would have more practical application.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104014] New: Pasting indexes between documents with same indexes, does not preserve the first one

2016-11-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104014

Bug ID: 104014
Summary: Pasting indexes between documents with same indexes,
does not preserve the first one
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.3.2 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: monosij.for...@gmail.com

Description:
I have been using templates which list out my Indexes so I can copy/paste
between documents and the Indexes will be preserved.

This works well and is a great feature.
However there is one issue.

When I paste, say 5 items in an Index (Laws Index) the first item is not
preserved. The rest of the items (2-4) are preserved and show up in the Laws
Index when refreshed.

This happens whether I paste between two documents or within the same document.

When copying of pasting items that belong to multiple indexes (I have 3
separate Indexes) the first ones being lost need me to to actually delete all
items from Indexes, and recreate them manually. I use shortcut keys so goes a
little faster.

...

Additionally ...

I am also noticing that in LibreOffice 5.2.3.2-rc2 on Ubuntu 16.10
(Yakketty-Yak), [Build ID: 1:5.2.3~rc2-0ubuntu1~yakkety1] that hovering over a
Index item does NOT show by tooltip which Index the item belongs to.

This used to show by a ToolTip in LibreOffice-5.1.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I copy and paste several Index entries from a document having the same
Indexes as another document as they are based on the same template having the
each of the same Indexes pre-defined. I have 3 different Indexes pre-defined.
But this also happens within same document.

2. Discussion below follows 5 Index Entries from one of the three (1 of 3)
Indexes being copied and pasted from one document to another. Or in same
document.

3. When I 'Edit Index Entry' the first entry pasted shows 'User-Index' and not
the Index Name.

4. The 2nd-5th ones do show up as being part of the Laws Index when I 'Edit
Index.'

5. Thus, when I refresh indexes all 2-5 items show up. Not 1st.

Actual Results:
When I copy and paste 5 Index Entries into second document (or in same
document) all 5 show up as being past of an Index as they have dark gray
highlight.

However when I Edit Index on the 1st one it shows up as being part of a
User-Defined Index.

The 2nd-5th one show up as being past of the Laws Index as should be.

When the Laws Index is refreshed the 2nd-5th ones show up, but not the 1st one.

When I hover over each one of the Indexes I do not see the Indexes they are
part of anymore, but I did use to see under LibreOffice-5.1 in Ubuntu.
Including the one that is now set as User-Defined Index.

Expected Results:
The software should have set each of the 5 Index Entries to be part of the Laws
Index.

I should have been able to see then if I hovered over them or if I invoked
'Edit Index Entry.'

I should be able to refresh the Laws Index and see each of the 5 Index Entries
pasted in.

The hover to see the Index Entry used to work in LibreOffice 5.1 but the other
aspects never worked.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Not applicable

Additional Info:
When dealing with multiple indexes and having items in different Indexes it
becomes quite time consuming when moving text between different sections of a
document.

This is because with the 1st item from each Index Entry losing its Index and
not being able to see easily - I have to delete Index Entries from all Indexes
and recreate them manually. Goes a little faster with shortcut keys.

Please reach me with any questions at monosij.for...@gmail.com if you need any
more details.

Thank you for looking into the matter.

Not just when positioned on left edge of a menu entry, but the strings
"Ctrl+..." for the short-cuts being appended to the menu entries loose the left
edge of pixels also with OpenGL rendering and the new layout engine.

With cleartype OpenGL

Cleartype makes it a lot better, but it's still there. The 'a' from 'Special'
in Special character is fused a bit with the 'l' Spacing between 't' and 'n'
and 'n' and 'm'

@Khaled, this one sure seems HarfBuzz layout related.

Differences between OpenGL rendering on old layout and new layout, and
manifests depending on the placement of the glyph for layout.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104013] New: glyphs positioned at left margin of menu entries are clipped when OpenGL rendered with HarfBuzz common layout

2016-11-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104013

Bug ID: 104013
Summary: glyphs positioned at left margin of menu entries are
clipped when OpenGL rendered with HarfBuzz common
layout
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha1+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu

Description:
With the new HarfBuzz common text layout on Windows, glyphs rendered with
OpenGL and positioned on the left margin of menu entries are being clipped. The
default GDI rendering, and the old GDI or DirectWrite rendering does not affect
the glyphs.

In the attached screen clip new layout on left old layout on right. OpenGL
rendering on top, GDI rendering on bottom.

In the top-left clip (of Tools -> Options at 300%) glyphs with round left edge
"O" "C" are being clipped/poorly smoothed. The same glyphs away from the edge
are nicely aliased.

Steps to Reproduce:
On Windows 10 Pro 64-bit en-US
Open LibreOffice
enable new HarfBuzz layout engine (default)
enable OpenGL rendering (default)
Open Tools -> Option dialog
inspect glyphs on the left edge of the menu

Actual Results:
Glyphs with wide shadowing/smoothing "O" & "C" are clipped when positioned
against left margin of menu.

Expected Results:
Glyphs for "O" and "C" should match the rendering of the same elsewhere in the
menu entries.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
On Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (1607) en-US with nVidia GTX 750ti 372.70 driver

Don’t do that. You will get old style hinting which can change glyph advance
width, but the layout code does not know about this change.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104012] New: RTF (special) paste broken in v5.2.x

2016-11-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104012

Bug ID: 104012
Summary: RTF (special) paste broken in v5.2.x
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.3.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: chris...@hamm.top

Wheny trying to copy & paste formatted / coloured text into writer it will be
pasted as plain text. Also paste special (via right mouse click) does not show
RTF selection item.

This issue arises only in writer v5.2.x (I tested release versions: 5.2.2 and
5.2.3)

In v 5.1.6 everything works fine.
I've tested it on Windows 7 + 10 with the same result.

Source programs:

*IBM Notes (Lotus Notes) --> copy from a mail
*SQuirrel (http://squirrel-sql.sourceforge.net/)
--> SQL Editor > right mouse button -> Copy in RTF
- this should paste coloured text and preformatted text type - but
it will be pasted default style as plain text.

Pasting in Writer v5.2.x is always plain (unformatted) text - special paste
does not show the RTF field (as it will shown in LO v5.1.6 and in old
OpenOffice)

Not sure it is our issue, but adding to the text rendering META. And I guess
there is a HarfBuzz layout component to it as well but I kind of doubt it came
in with the new layout engine. And of course it would have to be addressed with
the new layout engine in some fashion.
