True. You have a "custom color" option in the color picker when you edit cell
background in a Calc spreadsheet but you just have a default palette when you
want to change the cell background in a Writer table.

This is a missing option since OOo era.
Let's see if some developer or UX-team member may be interested porting the
Calc "custom color" option into Writer.

@Jay
do you know if this enhancement has already been asked before?
If I remember correctly you worked with the color picker new dialog in the
past.

In bug 71732 Khaled Hosny think a meta bug that tracks text layout issues in

So I created this meta bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104180] New: GS51-GettingStartedLO.pdf index' s hierarchy is messed up for Chapter 1 and 2

2016-11-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104180

Bug ID: 104180
Summary: GS51-GettingStartedLO.pdf index's hierarchy is messed
up for Chapter 1 and 2
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bridgeportcontrac...@gmail.com

On https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications

Under: Complete Getting Started Guide 5.1.x | PDF

which downloads:
   https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/images/9/97/GS51-GettingStartedLO.pdf

The index nesting is messed up in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, as follows:

* Chapter 2 is nested inside Chapter 1, rather than a sibling.

* Chapter 3 is nested inside Chapter 2, rather than a sibling.

The result is that folding up Chapter 1 (clicking on the index down arrow)
folds all other chapters, but only chapter 1 should get folded. Likewise with
chapter 2.

Bug ID: 104179
Summary: Add an export image feature to the formula editor.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Formula Editor
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: owenthomasander...@gmail.com

Description:
This would be a good addition to the formula editor. It would allow users to
move formulas from the program into other applications or websites, the current
export for PDF may have some applications but an image would be much more
versatile. I find myself taking screen shots of the formula and cropping it
just to get an image. I'm not sure how hard to add this but I think if possible
it's worth putting in.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104178] Two installs from same download but different menu options for AutoCorrect

2016-11-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104178

Thank you, Joel, for your quick input.

I'll see what a fresh profile on each will do.

Meanwhile, I assure you I'm entirely truthful when I say "same download." I
downloaded the installation file onto the 64-bit machine and did the update.
Then I copied that very same file over to my 32-bit machine and did the update.

If LO detects the "bittage" of the machine and adjusts its installation
accordingly (even though the install file is the same), that's something I'm
too ignorant to know about. :)

Anyway, I'll check into the fresh profile stuff and report back. Thank you
again.

Can you try with a fresh profile on each? I suspect this is a personal user
profile issue as it's literally impossible that a fresh (no user profile
involved) install will have two different setups.

But FWIW - if you have one 32 bit and one 64 bit it's a bit misleading to say
"same download" as I suspect you have the 32 and 64 bit versions installed?

Please try with fresh profiles and report back.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104178] New: Two installs from same download but different menu options for AutoCorrect

2016-11-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104178

Bug ID: 104178
Summary: Two installs from same download but different menu
options for AutoCorrect
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: blog...@eaf.net

Description:
I noticed a weird deal with 5.1.5.2 for Windows.

An install on one machine showed AutoCorrect under both Format and Tools, but
on another machine it showed AutoCorrect only under Tools.

This afternoon I downloaded the installation file for 5.1.6.2 and used it to
update LibreOffice on both machines in question. The weirdness continues.
What's with that?

Both machines are running Win7Pro, though one is 32-bit and other is 64-bit.
That surely doesn't make the difference, does it?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click Format
2. Click Tools
3. Notice that AutoCorrect shows up in both on one machine but only in Tools on
the other

Actual Results:
AutoCorrect shows up under Format and Tools on one machine, but only under
Tools on the other machine.

Expected Results:
AutoCorrect should show up consistently between the two installations.

Reproducible: Always

CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Linux 4.4; UI Render: default; VCL: gtk3; Layout

Confirmed.

Also confirmed on 3.3 so updating the version.

Setting as:
Minor: I understand this is a real PITA (it affects me too) but it doesn't
*prevent* high quality work, just slows it down in an annoying way
Low: Default for minor bugs

Note: Priority really has no affect what so ever on when a bug gets fixed, it
just is supposed to be an objective prioritization that developers (volunteers)
are free to entirely ignore.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104175] New: LibreOffice crashes when adding remote Windows/SMB share

2016-11-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104175

Bug ID: 104175
Summary: LibreOffice crashes when adding remote Windows/SMB
share
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: zirien...@gmail.com

Description:
When starting LibreOffice after a fresh install and attempting to add a Windows
network share, the LibreOffice main window disappears and the crash reporter
appears.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LibreOffice
2. On left sidebar, click on "Remote Files"
3. Click on "Add Service"
4. Change the "Type" dropdown to "Windows Share"
5. In "Host:", put a computer name, like "COMPUTER1" without http:// or \\ in
front. (I used "openwrt".)
6. Put a share name into the "Share" field. (I used "usbdrive".)
7. Put in strings for "User" and "Password".
8. Make sure "Remember Password" is not checked.
9. The "Root" field is left blank.
10. Click OK.
11. Crash.

Actual Results:
The main LibreOffice window disappears, but the "Remote Files" window remains
open. However, I am able to interact with that window besides dragging it by
the title bar. A "LibreOffice Document Recovery" screen appears.

Expected Results:
LibreOffice would connect to the network share and list my files.

2016-11-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 104174
Summary: Loss of formatting on Pivot Tables after refreshing
data
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.3.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: franciscocerraj...@hotmail.com

Description:
Formatting on the cells of the pivot table (background color, borders...) is
lost after refreshing of the data. I have the pivot table but wanted to make it
look better, so added some coloring and borders. When I refresh the table to
show changes in the data, all the editing is lost and the pivot table looks as
the first time i did it.
It's not the end of the world, but it would be nice not to have to repeat the
editing after refreshing the data.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a pivot table.
2.Add some formatting to the data in the table, background color or borders.
3.Refresh the pivot table.

Actual Results:
It's easy to reproduce. Just add some formatting to the pivot and refresh the
table. The formatting will be gone after refreshing.

Expected Results:
Formatting of the pivot table is gone.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Ideally, the formatting of the pivot should have stayed the
same and only the data updated after refreshing.

Please compare attachment 128423 and attachment 128424 from bug 60268. These
screenshots are made to be easy to compare them, if you switch between them
(windows are at the same positions and states). It's clear that with HarfBuzz
enabled, the width of text in menus and dialogs is considerably less than with
HarfBuzz disabled. This even makes About dialog window narrower. The
screenshots also show that OpenGL doesn't make difference here.

Both series of screenshots are made with ClearType enabled.

This is also the same with Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 5c85898261d4e843a942f2f2d627b4a7ca3f03fb

Please try resetting the user profile, sometimes solves strange issues.
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile
Usually it's enough renaming/deleting the file
"user/registrymodifications.xcu", it affects all the options in
Menu/Tools/Options, and the files "user/basic/dialog.xlc" and "scrip.xlc" are
overwritten, additionally custom colors in "user/config/standard.soc" are lost.

... the problem is essentially that for a text frame with only a table
SwXTextFrame::createTextCursor() explicitly throws an exception, in
contrast to SwXBodyText::createTextCursor() which would just start on the
table node in this case.

apparently the createTextCursor call in the ODF export happens only in the
special case where the shape SwXShape has an aggregated SwXTextFrame;
a plain SwXTextFrame with just a table can be exported.

it's not obvious to me why we need to throw an exception if there is only a
table - this was added with:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104099] Updating a Calc DDE Link to add rows does not actually add the rows in the Writer doc

2016-11-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104099

This does not seem to be a bug, but an old limitation:
https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1550

"Caveat: The DDE link definition contains only the rows and columns you pasted
in. The object can't automatically expand to include additional rows or
columns, so if you add any in the original, you'll have to include those in a
new selection to paste as DDE."

Will need to interview developers about this.

Others have agonized about how to achieve something like what you want:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104028] PDF EXPORT: detail loss from WMF exporting to PDF (evince, adobe reader, edge)

2016-11-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104028

V Stuart Foote changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||caol...@redhat.com,
   ||noelgran...@gmail.com,
   ||oliver.spe...@cib.de

Using Inkscape 0.91 if I import the PDF and choose the Poppler based import,
portions of the image are lost--but if I use "native" Inkscape PDF import the
entire image is rendered including the center line and the arrowed lines coming
from "Object user 2"

So, in addition to Inkscape (when not using Poppler), I can confirm correct
rendering in the PDF viewer in both FireFox and Chrome--as well as the InFix
PDF editor and the TexWorks viewer all render the entire WMF, as extracted in
comment 4, when it is exported from LibreOffice 5.3.0 Draw or Writer or Impress
to PDF.

Also confirm that Adobe Reader 15/Acrobat Pro 9.5.5, Windows Explorer
(preview), MS Edge, MS PDF Reader, and the Imagmagick IMdisplay on Windows--and
likewise the Evince document viewer on Linux--all do not render the entire WMF
as exported to PDF. Dropping the dashed center line and several arrows pointing
from the "Object user 2" element.

So, the question is what are we doing wrong in our export filter for WMF
metafile that prevents some common PDF viewers from handling our PDF? Is our
export filter Poppler based?

The various print to PDF--OS or gs/ps based--all produce full representation of
the WMF in PDF, it is just our Export-to-PDF that is having the issue.

The file is /help/source/text/shared/main0600.xhp

Please compare with /help/source/text/sbasic/shared/main0601.xhp

It seems, that the whole file main0600.xhp is obsolete. If you decide to remove
the file, you need to adapt its references in
/help/source/text/shared/01/06130010.xhp,
/help/source/text/shared/01/0613.xhp, and
/help/source/text/shared/guide/macro_recording.xhp.
