https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104194 Bug ID: 104194 Summary: MathML not rendered by the equation edito Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.1.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Formula Editor Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: denis.na...@gmail.com Created attachment 129040 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=129040&action=edit Original text document with markdown markup This is a bug similar but I think not equal to bug 76296 titled 'FILEOPEN: Open or import of MathML file does not write ~ or ` for the The case originated with a formula written with TeX sintaxis in markdown markup converted to docx and odt with Pandoc. The discussion is accesible in this link: https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=es-419#!topic/pandoc-discuss/H7lXXLR3k90 Was reported by a user with LO 5.2.3.3. and by me with LO 5.1.5.2; consists in that MS word docx represents correctly the 2 em space between the formula and the manual number included with the formula, but LibreOffice does not. After some tests I found two things: a) LibreOffice receive from Pandoc conversion to odt the following specification "" within the formula's MathML but does not express it as an space at all. Don't throw errors also. b) Recreating the formula with LibreOffice, required me to use eight (8) "~" to get a similar space as generated by MS. The space used in the formula with TeX sintax is 2 em (the width of letter 'M') using command '\qquad'. I include four files: a) Original markdown file (mwcado.txt). b) MS docx file which render the space(mwcado.docx). c) LO odt file which does not render the space (mwcado-original.odt). d) LO odt file modified by me (mwcado-modified.odt). Additionally, attracts my attention that the formula that I recreated includes StarMath 5.0 markup, to recreate the space but it isn't an space specified in terms of ems thats the space unit used. Here I reproduce the content of my considerations that published in Pandoc's newsgroup: LibreOffice does not understand '', comparing the following MathML texts (copied from the unzipped odt). Therefore, I must accept that LibreOffice does not correctly interpret \ qquad or that at least, '' is an unimplemented instruction in LibreOffice. ## Markdown source This is the markdown I used to produce the ecuation in question: For example, the \qquad in the following equation is ignored: $$ y = mx + b \qquad (1) $$ Y otra ecuación sin el espacio qquad para cotejar diferencias: $$ y = mx + b (1) $$ ## Results This is what Pandoc produces when the ecuation has \qquad: http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML";>y=mx+b(1) And this is what Pandoc produces without \qquad: http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML";>y=mx+b(1) And this is what I got using the '~' space command with LibreOffice: http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"; display="block">y=mx+b(1){y = m x + b \( 1 \)} -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103486] Tabs overlap the toolbar when in fullscreen mode and mouse cursor moves to LibreOffice application menu
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103486 --- Comment #14 from Alex --- One woman's/man's/child's feature is another childs's/woman's/man's bug. macOS Sierra (ver. 10.12.0 and up) introduced in September 2016, has a new feature - tabbed windows. The feature is configured in: System Preferences --> Dock --> "Prefer tabs when opening windows:" which can be set to one of: * Always * In Full Screen Only * Manually When this OS-level feature kicks-in on LibreOffice (LO), all LO windows are opened as tabs in a single window - that's nice, right? Wrong, because you also get a row of tab labels displayed immediately under the window title-bar, overlapping the top of LO window content that you just might like to see. Workaround suggestions: --- * Live the life of a normal person, without everything tabbed, by setting "System Preferences" --> Dock --> "Prefer tabs when opening windows:" to "Manually". IMHO the Sierra tabs are a tad unsightly and bland - you won't miss them. Mission Control is a cool/slick/useful macOS feature with handy keyboard shortcuts, which makes the job of navigating between a plethora of windows real easy. * If you can't tear yourself away from the new shiny apple-scented eden of tabs, and you care to see all of your LO window content as well, then right-click the lovely (but obstructing) tab header in LO window, and select "Move Tab To New Window", every time the tabs pop-up, again, and again and again... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103829 --- Comment #8 from michael.letz...@michael-letzgus.de --- You should have read the instruction inside the file, cell C6. There is also an explanation why there are no tabs in the file: Due to the bug! So please follow the instructions, insert some tabs (the second attachment) and save&reload the file. And yes - it's quite useless as a working testcase... but someone asked for some testcase. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open any LibreOffice app. 2. Make a document, and save it to some deeply-nested location. 3. Make another document, and do the same thing again. Actual Results: The save panel shows the default location (~/Documents), and you need to manually navigate to the desired location. Expected Results: When you save the second document, the save panel displays the location where you saved the previous one. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes. Additional Info: This happens with both the system save/load panels as well as the LibreOffice-specific ones. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104179] Add an export image feature to the formula editor
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104179 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu Resolution|--- |WONTFIX --- Comment #4 from V Stuart Foote --- Current sm Math Formula Editor export to PDF supplements a save-as ODF formula (.odf) and MathML 2.0 formula (.mml) sm math formulas are used internally as formula OLE objects--and the saved MathML 2.0 formulas can be consumed internally and external to LibreOffice but the module is currently not configured to provide graphic formating on export. For example notice the lack of formatting with the PDF export. Additional export formats to vector (.svg, .emf/.wmf, .eps) and bitmap (.png, .tiff, .bmp, .jpeg) would be of some use in the future. But this would only be possible when the Math formula editor module is eventually reworked to include the formatting that would be necessary. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104186] FILESAVE: XLSX export does break localised functions if a blank is found before function brace
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104186 --- Comment #4 from Victor V. Terber --- Updated and corrected description: Description: When saving as XLSX document LO functions are handled differently with respect to localisation if a blank is found between the function keyword and the following brace. When the OO-created XSLX-codument is opened in localised Excel, cells formulas which use a function followed by a blank are not localised. Cells formulas where a brace follows directly the function keyword are handled and shown correctly. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a blank calc sheet with LO 5.2.3.3 (German localisation) 2. Set a date in cell A1. Use in B1 the functions "=TAG(A1)", and in C1 "=TAG (A1)". "TAG" is the German word for "DAY" 3. Save as XLSX 'Microsoft Excel 2007-2013 XML (.xlsx)' 4. Open the XLSX document with a German version of Microsoft Excel 2016. 5. Observe the cells content: Cell B1 is ok, containing "=TAG(A1)". Cell C1 is faulty, containing "=DAY (A1)". Actual Results: Cell C1() shows an error in Excel. The cell contains the formula "=DAY (A1)" Expected Results: Cell C1() should show the day of cell A1. The cell should contain the (localised) formula "=TAG (A1)" as found in B1. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:50.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/50.0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104186] FILESAVE: XLSX export does break localised functions if a blank is found before function brace
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104186 Victor V. Terber changed: What|Removed |Added Summary|FILESAVE: XLSX export does |FILESAVE: XLSX export does |break YEAR function |break localised functions |depending on localisation |if a blank is found before ||function brace --- Comment #3 from Victor V. Terber --- My original (implicit) analysis was wrong: The real trigger is not any specific function, but the fact that a blank is found the LO formula between the function keyword and the following brace. The original finding (that a specific function was wrongly translated into XLSX format) was pure coincidence. In fact, a cell with such a function is exported correctly and shown correctly in a localized Excel sheet: =YEAR(A1) This translates correctly in a German Excel sheet into '=JAHR(A1)' But following cell is shown incorrectly after saved as an XLSX: =YEAR (A1) This translates wrongly in a German Excel sheet into '=YEAR (A1)' The provided test cases are therefore still valid. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104188] New: irritating disfunction in the table formatting
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104188 Bug ID: 104188 Summary: irritating disfunction in the table formatting Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.2.3.3 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jlbr...@portugalmail.com I have a list of some cell tables. They have cells horizontally and vertically. Some don't stay entirely on one page: they start somewhere near the end of a page, and some cells pass to the next page. I want to create an outline for each table, but there's a problem. I only want to select the 4 surrounding lines of the outer limits of each table, but I want the tables that stay in 2 different pages to DON'T get separated by any outlines, as if they were 2 tables. I mean, the last cell near the end of the first page must NOT get the lower outline, and the first cell near the beginning of the next page must NOT get the upper outline. Sometimes, it's just the same cell, but in 2 different pages. However, some of the tables get just as I want, but some some get all the 4 outlines in BOTH pages! That's not the order I give to the program...can you do something about it? I imagine we die before we've chained ourselves into the list of top-level windows (at least the start of that list maWinData.mpFirstFrame is non-NULL and valid) - I assume it is quite long. However - it does indeed seem that the root cause of this problem is using 10,000 GDI handles up; I wonder how we manage to do that ! =) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
