https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120803 Bug ID: 120803 Summary: kde5: Impress crashes when exiting presentation mode Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: m.wegh...@posteo.de Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: cd9aa5bc508244082b4baf4a3094875bf2c6f992 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.18; UI render: default; VCL: kde5; Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); Calc: threaded This is specific to the qt5/kde5 VCL plugins. It works e.g. with gtk3. Steps to reproduce: 1) create a new presentation consisting of just one slide in Impress 2) start presentation mode, e.g. by pressing F5 (side note: until bug 120451 is fixed, you'll need two screens, otherwise a crash 3) left click to actually start the presentation (side note: this is necessary due tobug 119718) 4) make the "presentation window" the active one, not the one with presenter console 5) click to advance (Text "Click to exit presentation..." appears, since slideshow is over) 6) click again (or press Esc) Result: LibreOffice crashes -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120802] New: Function of Button “Toggle Numbered List” is Unclear
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120802 Bug ID: 120802 Summary: Function of Button “Toggle Numbered List” is Unclear Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.2.1 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: harald.koes...@mail.de Blocks: 103369 The function of the button “Toggle Numbered List” is quite confusing, especially after the change from version 6.0.x to 6.1.x. In order to reproduce the bug: [1] Create a new text document and open list styles in sidebar. [2] Insert a bit of text in one paragraph. [3] Click “Toggle Numbered List” in toolbar Formatting. The number is inserted and the paragraph is aligned at 0.64 cm. Version 6.1.2: Style “List 1” is highlighted. This style is a bulleted list, not a numbered list. Version 6.0.6: No Style is highlighted. Expected: No highlighting, because I don't expect an assignment of a list style. With this button I only expect a direct formatting. [4] For me it is not clear, if with version 6.1.2 in step 4 a list style has been assigned or if the display is wrong. Do this: Open paragraph dialogue: Format > Paragraph… > Tab “Outline & Numbering”: Version 6.1.2: The field “Numbering style” is empty. If an assignment has been performed I would expect, that the style “Numbering 123” is displayed here. Or if an assignment has not been performed I expect, that “None” is displayed. Version 6.0.6: “None” is displayed in field “Numbering style”. [5] Close dialogue with Cancel. [6] Remove number: Click “Toggle Numbered List” again. [7] Assign style “Numbering 123” with double-click. A number is inserted. [8] Click “Toggle Numbered List”. The number is removed. A list style is no longer valid. Expected: With the button I only expect that a direct formatting is changed. Here in this case the style is changed to “None”. There is a problem at step 8. It is not possible to remove a list style directly to “None”. This is currently only possible with a workaround: [8] Format > Paragraph > Tab “Outline & Numbering” > Field “Numbering style”: Select “None”. Then OK. So the 'style' “None” should also be displayed as selectable style in the style selection tab of the sidebar. The behaviour is equivalent, if you use a bulleted list instead of a numbered list. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120800] New: Keyboard shortcuts for text style cause paper cuts
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120800 Bug ID: 120800 Summary: Keyboard shortcuts for text style cause paper cuts Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: thru...@gmail.com When, for example, I am typing a bold word that I want to follow with punctuation, I hit Ctrl-b to begin the word. I type the word. And then I hit Ctrl-b to end the word, and type the (non-bold) punctuation. I just think it looks better that way. But this reveals a flaw. Because often, when I hit that Ctrl-b (or any other text style shortcut, such as Ctrl-i) it un-bolds the preceding word. Not a whole phrase. Only the last word. Sometimes it behaves correctly, and lets me continue with normal typeface after the bold word. I haven't taken the time to isolate that behavior. It seems like that is a special case, and the default behavior is to un-bold the word I am ostensibly still typing. I guess the software can't spell, so it doesn't know I am thinking that I am at the end of the word. To my way of thinking, if I hit Ctrl-b after a space, that is the same thing as inserting a tag. And if I hit Ctrl-b again (because I am inside the tag) it should insert a tag for me, context-agnostically. I would think an app as sophisticated as LO could parse its own HTML tags, and make sure they are nested properly. I am not assuming it does that, just comparing my own thought paradigm with the observed behavior. Thank you for your attention to this. It's just a paper cut I've struggled with over the years, and found less efficient workarounds for, such as going back and selecting the word with the mouse, and clicking the "B" button. Sorry my report is not super-detailed. On the other hand, I think this is a fairly straightforward issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120753] Special Characters dialog expand Favorites and Recents bar counts beyond current max of 16
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120753 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added CC||fdb...@neosheffield.co.uk, ||frank...@goodhorse.idv.tw, ||khaledho...@eglug.org, ||libreoff...@kohei.us, ||shanshandehongxing@outlook. ||com, suokunl...@126.com, ||t...@fixedpoint.jp --- Comment #3 from V Stuart Foote --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #1) This is an enhancement for localization support. The current stack limit of 16 is simply not sufficient for a large percentage of our users. Rather than our usual UX-Advise participants, let's ask some of the other contributors from the CJK/CTL communities weigh in on the effectiveness of the current selection of western "Favorites" provided, and whether a stack of 16 glyphs offers any real usability to those locales. There would not be an algorithm involved, rather would directly load a set of default Favorites from XML for the selected locale coupled with fonts by locale taken from VCL.xcu--effectively providing font and specific Unicode glyphs to load. Only if absent an entry in the locale's XML would we load the current western defaults for favorites. As to impacting the GUI--increasing the stack count from 16 would not present an issue for users assigned the current western default. Expect the glyphs for the Split button would keep columns of 6, only the row count would increase from current three with different defaults--six for a stack of 32 or eight for 48. Impact on GUI is negligible. And on the Special Character dialog, adding a second (for 32) or even third row (for 48) to the favorites and resents--while increasing screen height of the dialog would cause not great issue, and each row could be set to 24 glyphs to limit it to two each. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74580 --- Comment #37 from Kyle --- The public has been asking for this to be addressed to our needs for years at this point. I too must beg for this bug/enhancement to be fixed/improved. Like Dirk from 2015, I have to open/edit 25-100s of CSV files every day. Every one of them is formatted the same "standard" way that Excel reads inherently. But my version Libre Office 5 still asks how to open every single file. Not only is it time consuming and aggravating, but often the CSV Import dialog comes up behind another application on another monitor. So not only can I not open the file the way I should be able to open it, but now I must hunt for the dialog also. The dialog issue should be reported as its own bug, but I decided it is more important to address the base issue. The users should not be required to see this dialog in the first place.
