The issue is still present in Safe Mode when selecting the 'Print to File...'
option and 'Samsung ML-1750 Series PCL 6 (USB)' option.

I did following steps:
- Start LibreOffice and select Help ▸ Restart in Safe Mode
In the 'Enter Safe Mode' dialog select 'Restart'
LibreOffice restarted and displayed the 'Safe Mode' dialog

- Select Continue in safe mode

- Test and see if the problem is gone.
(If the problem persists, you can exit the safe mode because the user
profile was not the cause of the problem.)

Test Result --> Problem persists in Safe Mode.

Note: I don't know if the Properties button ever worked previously as this is
the first time I tried clicking on it and it crashed LibreOffice Calc.

==

Additional background info: Computer's Windows 7 was corrupted... Win7 was
re-installed and then Win10 installed on computer. LibreOffice along with
other apps were then re-installed. Basically, this is a fresh installation of
Windows10 and apps. Laser printer is connected via a print server on a router
(TP-Link TL-WDR4300 N750) so it could be shared with other computers on home
network.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126295] New: Unable to open files in LO Calc -- timeout waiting for threadpool tasks

2019-07-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126295

Bug ID: 126295
Summary: Unable to open files in LO Calc -- timeout waiting for
threadpool tasks
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: res06...@verizon.net

I may be using LO Calc incorrectly, or it's the wrong tool, but I now have 3
files that won't open and LO crashes with timeout "waiting for threadpool
tasks". When one file wouldn't open, I created a new file and saved copies at
each step. The first sheet has a large amount of data -- 81,000 text rows that
were filtered into a 2nd sheet, and further reduced in size to a 3rd sheet. I
learned in the process that SUMPRODUCT can't handle a large number of rows, but
I managed to get my results in stages of adjusting the range. A sample formula:
=SUMPRODUCT($D$2:$D$1092=D3,$j$2:$j$1092=$B$2:$B$1092) It took quite a while to
get through the file. I can once again create a new file, but I need to know
what is causing the crash so I can avoid the problem on yet another file.

Dear christian_kuhn,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126294] New: Similarity search never finds results when searching multiple words

2019-07-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126294

Bug ID: 126294
Summary: Similarity search never finds results when searching
multiple words
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: cuthalion...@gmail.com

Description:
In Writer 6.2.4.2 (x64), the Find & Replace dialog's "similarity search" option
fails to find results if you have multiple words or whitespace in the "find"
input. It appears to be treating whitespace or extra words like added or
exchanged characters.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new Writer document.
2. Type something. Example: "For example, this document."
3. Open Find & Replace. Search for "document". This works.
4. Check "Similarity search" and set "Exachange characters" to 2. Search again.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126261] Right to left (RTL) writing doesn't work

2019-07-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126261

The text entered with code points from the Old Hungarian Unicode block
(10C80-10CFF) will be rendered RTL regardless of the Paragraph direction LTR or
RTL.

To enable UI support for RTL paragraph--appearance of the LTR
(++A), and RTL (++D) toolbar buttons--the Complex
Text layout selection must be checked enabled. The selection is located from
the main menu:

Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Languages panel

Where there are choices to be made for 'Default Languages for Documents'

'Western'

'Asian'

'Complex text layout'

The checkbox for Complex text layout much be checked, the actual language can
remain none, or can use the default 'Hindi', or select one from the drop list.

2019-07-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon

So I checked the 6.2.3 build:

$ objdump -T libvclplug_qt5lo.so | grep qt_version_tag
  DO *UND* Qt_5.9 qt_version_tag

Now I would be interested in the About dialog info of your LO 6.2.3. I guess
that didn't run qt5 or kde5 either, but kde4. I was wrong with gen, as your
backtrace actually shows:

#21 0x7fffe2b3fe85 in ?? () from
/opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_kde4lo.so

And I found
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/39871879/why-do-i-get-this-error-undefined-reference-to-qt-version-tag

So we should probably run the builds with -DQT_NO_VERSION_TAGGING... we should
still be function compatible with Qt 5.6.

All this still doesn't explain why LO started crashing with 6.2.4.

One major change we did for 6.2.4 was to enable the gtk3_kde5 backend. But this
is also linked against Qt5, so it would fail to load because of the missing
qt_version_tag symbol and according to your logs it does.

Which leaves no real reason for the crash, except for some speculation, that
loading and failing libqt5 together with libgtk3 triggers some ld bug (I don't
think so) or some .init code in any of the KF5 or Qt5 libraries doesn't clean
up correctly, so the later loaded libvclplug_kde4 crashes in NSS code.

What happens if you just remove the
/opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_gtk3_kde5lo.so library?

In theory this should work with kde4, which still would result in

(In reply to Max A. Dednev from comment #4)
> Additional information:
> SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kde4 libreoffice6.2 - works with some UI issues (distorted
> main menu etc.)

That is a duplicate of bug I can't find anymore. But the regression was quite
probably introduced by the fix for bug 125415. I fixed that for kde5 in bug
125673, but nobody tested / fixed kde4.

So this basically leaves you with this: uninstall libobasis6.2-kde-integration
(as you already did) and this should use the gtk3 plugin, which is IMHO the
best option regarding the circumstances.

FWIW I just tested -DQT_NO_VERSION_TAGGING and it prevents the qt_version_tag
symbol, so this will be used in 6.2.6 build and 6.3.

This workflow worked for several years with various versions of LibreOffice and
Scribus. After updating from LO 6.1.5.2 to 6.2.4.2 it fails. It also fails with
6.2.5.2. Reverting to 6.1.5.2 corrects the failure.

Plain text is still able to be pasted into a text box.

I tested against multiple versions of Scribus on both Gentoo Linux and Windows
10.

Not that I can confirm it, but we had someone today in QA IRC, who had a Greek
file picker on MacOS, with an About info of:

Version: 6.3.0.1
Build ID: 41ac97386aba908b6db860cfb4cfe2da871886ae

To be absolutely clear: many of the LO 6.3.0.1 pull-down menus and dialogues
are displayed in UK English, as they should be. However, a couple of dialogues
are in German. Some dialogues have both English AND German text - see for
instance attached screen-shot of the LO 6.3.0.1 Print dialogue on my machine.

This is a bug in LO 6.3.0.1.

I run several other LO versions on this machine to help with bug triage. LO
6.2.X.X and earlier do not exhibit this behaviour. See for instance the
attached screen-shot of the LO 6.2.5.2 Print dialogue for the same file.
Observe that it's all in English. No German anywhere.

Investigating further, it seems that LO 6.3.0.1 may be confused by the fact
that I have German in my Mac OS "Language" list (see attached screen shot of
Mac OS preferences pane). However, it is not my primary language, and Apple's
support Knowledge Base
(https://support.apple.com/kb/PH25082?locale=en_GB=en_GB) says:

"If macOS or an app supports the primary language, menus and messages are shown
in that language. If it doesn’t, it uses the second language in the list, and
so on."

As you can see, English is my primary language.

In this case LO 6.3.0.1 seem to be displaying some menus and messages in the
primary language, but some in the third language. Removing German from the Mac
OS "Languages" list causes LO 6.3.0.1 to display some dialogues in a mixture of
English and Catalan (see attached screen shot). I have no idea where Catalan
came from!

Changing status back to UNCONFIRMED.

I'm happy to help investigate this bug further ...

Hi Regina,
Thanks for the great analysis, indeed I do confirm removing that chunk of code
would fix the issue.

@Caolán, Do you think bug 63955 could be fixed in a different way ? See <

The file "sample file" has a different root cause. It has a special shape,
which in current PowerPoint versions would be become a "SmartArt".

The problem in bug 126184 treats problems with single lines inside custom
shapes. The testdocument "another document affected" belongs to bug 126184.

Yes, you're right and I suppose that this is the root of the current issue:
[makc@verstak ~]$ ldd /opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_kde5lo.so
/opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_kde5lo.so:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5: version `Qt_5.9' not found (required
by /opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_kde5lo.so)
/opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_kde5lo.so:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5: version `Qt_5.9' not found (required
by /opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_qt5lo.so)

[makc@verstak ~]$ ldd /opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_qt5lo.so
/opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_qt5lo.so:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5: version `Qt_5.9' not found (required
by /opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_qt5lo.so)

[makc@verstak ~]$ ldd /opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_gtk3_kde5lo.so
/opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_gtk3_kde5lo.so:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5: version `Qt_5.9' not found (required
by /opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_gtk3_kde5lo.so)

All this plugins depends on newer version of Qt (5.9), but Qt version in Debian
9.9 is much older (5.7.1):
[makc@verstak ~]$ dpkg -l | grep libqt5core
ii libqt5core5a:amd645.7.1+dfsg-3+deb9u1
  amd64Qt 5 core module

> Just that I get this right. LO v6.2.3.2 is still working for you, but
> 6.2.4.1 doesn't start and crashes? That would very much rule out conflict
> with some Debian updates.

Yes, but this isn't conflict, this is missing dependency on Qt 5.9.

> And you didn't list either the qt5 or the kde5 based plugins without the
> wrong *lo postfix. What happens with them? I suspect they don't work.

Yes, you've guessed right: gtk3_kde5, kde5 and qt5 aren't work.

> And what desktop are you running?

Plasma 5.8.6-1 (KDE5).

So sudo dpkg --purge libobasis6.2-kde-integration solves this problem under
Debian 9.9.

1. There is still no way that I can find to include
Paragraphs-with-the-hidden-flag-set in PDF files generated with "Export As ...
PDF" (Same behaviour as LO 6.2).

2. Display of Paragraphs-with-the-hidden-flag-set is now controlled by the
"View>Formatting Marks" option AND the "Display Formatting: Hidden Characters"
check-box on the "Preferences>LibreOffice Writer>Formatting Aids" preferences
pane - these paragraphs are only displayed on-screen if both these options are
selected. However, there are also confusingly-similar check boxes on the
"Preferences>LibreOffice Writer>View" pane called "Display Fields: Hidden text"
and "Display Fields: Hidden Paragraphs". These do not seem to influence diplay
of Paragraphs-with-the-hidden-flag-set.

The fact that the "Display Formatting: Hidden Characters" check-box now DOES
control display of hidden text is a step forward. However, I still find it
confusing that "View>Formatting Marks" influences the display of
Paragraphs-with-the-hidden-flag-set; formatting marks and hidden text seem to
be orthogonal concepts to me.

3. "Export ..." for PNG and JPEG is much improved. If
Paragraphs-with-the-hidden-flag-set are visible on-screen (i.e. both the
"View>Formatting Marks" option AND the "Display Formatting: Hidden Characters"
check-box on the "Preferences>LibreOffice Writer>Formatting Aids" preferences
pane are set) then the saved image includes the
Paragraphs-with-the-hidden-flag-set; if the Paragraphs-with-the-hidden-flag-set
are not visible on-screen, then they are not included in the saved image.

4. I can still find no way of making "File>Print Preview" display
Paragraphs-with-the-hidden-flag-set, even if those paragraphs are printed with
"File>Print".

The problems have started with the fix for bug 63955. That fix introduced a
clipping to a rectangle, which was build from a page size. But that page size
doesn't exist as expected by the fix. That led to bug 97276, bug 97276, bug
98366 and bug 101187. Each of them where "fixed" by adding a special case to
the fix from 63955. And now the fix from 63955 leads to the problems in this
bug and its duplicates.

If I remove the clipping (currently lines #88 to #121 in
viewcontactofsdrpathobj.cxx), all the mentioned cases work fine. Only bug 63955
would not be fixed.

But the problematic document in bug 63955 was created from a binary *.sdd file.
The creation process was badly done. I had created a correct conversion at that
time, which opens fine.

So my suggestion is, to remove lines #88 to #121 and find a better solution to
prevent LibreOffice from crashing with problematic files. [The problem in the
file from bug 63955 is a 19km long line.] I would also like to draw attention
to the concerns about the fix expressed by Armin in the bug report 63955.

I also don't quite agree with the logic of assuming that any document that is
written in LibreOffice is going to be printed double-sided. I understand where
you are coming from, but oftentimes documents are printed only on one side per
sheet (so that you have only front pages but no back pages) and in those
situations showing "Page 3 of 3" is confusing, too. So the easy and logical fix
would be to show the actual page number in the bottom left view. If I want to
have e.g. the beginning of a chapter on a new piece of paper, I will have to
arbitrarily add an empty page anyway.

i think if:

bug, cause removing a named range will make references invalid.

This is way after the plugin loader, already running gen.

This has a very interesting failure:

  8261: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5: error: version
lookup error: version `Qt_5.9' not found (required by
/opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_gtk3_kde5lo.so) (fatal)
  8261: file=/opt/libreoffice6.2/program/libvclplug_gtk3_kde5lo.so [0];
 destroying link map

It looks like LO TDF somehow now depends on some versioned Qt_5.9 symbol, if I
understand this correctly.

Just that I get this right. LO v6.2.3.2 is still working for you, but 6.2.4.1
doesn't start and crashes? That would very much rule out conflict with some
Debian updates.

And you didn't list either the qt5 or the kde5 based plugins without the wrong
*lo postfix. What happens with them? I suspect they don't work.

And what desktop are you running?

Regarding PDF-Export I confirm it. I remember that this issue has been
discussed in the past, but I couldn't find that bug report.

Conversation from IRC:

 jmux, removing this if <
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/vcl/source/control/tabctrl.cxx?r=d00ee2cb#2352
> displays the menu
the strange part is, that even the "Applications"
folder menu name is translated...
  en_it?
 x1sc0: you mean the tabs?
 jmux, yep, sorry, the tabs
x1sc0: the only place, which can change the visibility is
NotebookbarTabControlBase::SetContext
* individual-it (~Thunderbi@27.34.70.174) s'ha unit
jmux, should it be m_bEnabled instead ?
x1sc0: no. That was the old code and it was broken. Any it works
everywhere else.
 And
@mirkoprp why do you have en_IT.UTF-8 in the locale?
 x1sc0: Can you put a SAL_DEBUG(nPageId << " " << bVisible); at the start
of TabControl::SetPageVisible
@mirkoprp what if you launch LibreOffice in safe mode?
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resolving_corruption The menu
location is different on macos
* floeff ha sortit (Quit: Bye.)
* xisco2 (b9d8dafb@gateway/web/cgi-irc/kiwiirc.com/ip.185.216.218.251) s'ha
unit
 jmux, https://paste.ee/p/WSlvA
* MechtiIde ha sortit (Ping timeout: 258 seconds)
xisco2: that looks ok. You should see tabs 1-7 + 15
xisco2: Can you move the debug 4 lines and make it SAL_DEBUG(nPageId <<
" " << bVisible << " " << pItem << " " << pItem->m_bVisible);
 after the return
 jmux https://paste.ee/p/x2nKD
This is very strange. From the debug output the right tabs are visible.
Just the hidden tabs get hidden.
