[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151791] Calc-UI-Edit drop down menu-Cell protection

2023-03-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151791

As per your request "Options - LibreOffice - View - Use Skia for all rendering"
deactivated.
No difference at all. Problem is there.

The problem can be reproduced in Safe Mode.
You have to follow the process described in my last comment and repeated below:

Load in Safe Mode.
Edit->Cell Protection is OK. Indicates with a tick, the current cell protection
attribute.
Customize Edit menu. Remove and then Add again Cell Protection item.
Edit->Cell Protection is a fix lock and does not indicate the current cell
protection

2023-03-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60218

This still happens. With the first file it is impossible save a change in Wrap
type for the icon.

Re-testing using a new file, with a new sound file, the Wrap type is set to
"Through Wrap" as default. Changing this to "Page Wrap" works. It is possible
to save this. The file opens in "Page Wrap". Changing back to "Wrap Through"
works, but it is impossible to save it. The file re-opens as "Page Wrap". For
further details check out blog https://accuratefumigation.com/blog/

I bisected the Linux fix with linux-64-7.2 repo to core commit
e388a4d6d7ab355fc7aa5fca05e06070693847e9, which turns out is a GTK3-only fix:

Resolves: tdf#145580 need to use gtk_im_context_filter_keypress
for at least xim, ibus works fine. To reproduce under Fedora with gtk3
can use a keyboard layout of "US International with dead keys" with
export GDK_BACKEND=x11
export GTK_IM_MODULE=xim
and 'a in writer comment or calc header/footer dialog
Change-Id: I49425887dccc23c4fadf2bc007b6e83fc7993f7a

The issue is still present for gen and kf5 VCLs in a recent master build (as
well as for Windows).

Caolán, copying you in just in case your GTK3 fix inspires ideas for a global
fix?

(In reply to Stéphane Guillou (stragu) from comment #10)
> Note the difference if the cell has just text or a formula:
> - bug visible on second go for text, as Timur mentioned
> - bug straight away visible in formula

Please ignore this bit. It does not depend on what kind of content is in the
cell: very first insert action in session works as expected, all subsequent
ones will display the bug.

Dear Toby,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Dear Libu,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Tooltips were added to the Assign Style dialog in bug 129671, but "outline"

Many languages that are defined by MS were added, because the mapping to the
LCID was needed anyway. See
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/openspecs/windows_protocols/ms-lcid/70feba9f-294e-491e-b6eb-56532684c37f

Additionally we added languages upon request, or if it turned out a language is
commonly used. i.e. all LANGUAGE_USER_... in

Documentation seems to be behind on that. Progress was mentioned in the release

That would be an enhancement request. Solving it requires not only implementing
a new method of interpolating but in addition extending the ODF standard.

When writing an enhancement request it would be useful if it points to a
suitable method and to a proof, that the method solves the problem.

While that is a possibility, it is not necessary for what I'm asking. I'm not
asking (in this bug) for tables to have a persistent, recognizable direction -
just that we automate the procedure of:

Add new column N+1
Move column 1 to N+1 (+ set width)
Move column N to 1 (+ set width)
Move column N+1 to N (+ set width)
Move column 2 to N+1 (+ set width)
Move column N-1 to 2 (+ set width)
Move column N+1 to N-1 (+ set width)
...
Remove column N+1

> The request belongs to the group of not implemented ODF features.

So, I believe that would be a separate request

> Rohingya is not part of the list of languages in the RTL language
> group languages drop-down box in the font dialog. Why?
Because we do not add all existing 1800 languages to the list?

If needed one can enter the language tag rhg-MM in the CTL language list's
combobox and hit Enter. Next time it will be displayed as
"Rohingya (Myanmar [Burma]) {rhg-MM}".

Or rhg-Rohg-MM for
"Rohingya (Hanifi, Myanmar [Burma]) {rhg-Rohg-MM}"

Since LibreOffice 7.5 the assignment to CTL vs Western also works as intended,
automatically. Additionally there's the acor_*.dat file language tag mechanism
to permanently add it to an installation.
See https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/7.5#Language_tags

We may consider adding an entry for one of the next releases, specifically for
the reason that it is a RTL language, which isn't automatically detected from
the language tag yet.

Objectively speaking, the behavior is wrong. Any user can see this. If the

that imply that, maybe, something more robust should be used instead?

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.5.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Formula Editor
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: salih_...@hotmail.com

Description:
in LO Math the functions and mathematical expressions that you are listed on
the sidebar on the left. In dark mode (GNOME) these are displayed in dark font
color on a dark background and are almost completely unreadable. In The typing
area on the bottom of the screen the text is correctly inverted to be bright on
the dark background and black in the bright mode.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Turn on dark mode in GNOME 43.3
2.start LibreOffice Math
3.try to select a mathematical expression from the left-sidebar

Actual Results:
The mathematical expressions are displayed in black font in front of the dark
themed background and are unreadable.

Expected Results:
The mathematical expressions in the left-sidebar should be displayed in bright
font in front of the dark background. The font color should be inverted
correctly like every other GUI font element when you turn on dark mode in
GNOME. This used to work correctly.

2023-03-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154031

Bug ID: 154031
Summary: Rohingya Hanifi missing from RTL languages list
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eyalr...@gmx.com

Rohingya is an eastern Indo-Aryan language spoken in northern Rakhine State
(Arakan) in Burma / Myanmar and in the neighbouring Chiittagong Division of
Bangladesh. There are about 1.8 million speakers.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohingya_people
https://omniglot.com/writing/rohingya.htm

but - Rohingya is not part of the list of languages in the RTL language group
languages drop-down box in the font dialog. Why?

Also, a written script for Rohingya named the Hanifi Rohingya script was
developed in 1980:

https://omniglot.com/writing/hanifi.htm

so it's not as though Rohingya could be subsumed by Arabic or something.

This is one of the forms I use, with sample data. It will not print with the
data in the fields.

I use a number of .odt files with forms for entering data, then print the form.
Since the last update, when I print the .odt file with forms after entering
data the form fields are all blank. In the print preview screen, all the data
appears to be there, however, when printed the form fields are empty.

My current work around is to export as a PDF, then print as the PDF does
contain the data.

Document with 𐴇𐴥 in a table row with wrong height

In the Rohingya Hanifi script, there's a modifying character named Tahala:
U+10D25 . Here's a Ha letter with a Tahala: 𐴇𐴥

Now, if I put that in a table cell, its size should be made large enough to
accommodate the Tahala. And - sometimes this happens. But
if I use a font which doesn't have Rohingya, specifically, Nachlieli CLM, for
the RTL language group - then somehow the size is not increased to contain the
Ha + Tahala.

See attached document - and note that, on my system, the fallback font is Noto
Sans, so the two table rows should exhibit the same actual font.

Note: I'm not sure if this happens only with Rohingya, it might be an issue
more generally with stated vs actual/fallback font metrics.

I encountered this when using the LibOCon 2022 Milan slide template, and

standard page preview in print window (as usual)

Reproducible: Always

It would be nice if, when playing with an object's position & size, you could
see how it would look after resizing. Now, the dialog itself hides much of the
slide, but it could be nice if you could see a small preview - perhaps only
with a plain bounding rectangle representing the object - of the position and
size of the re-positioned & resized object on the slide.

It would be useful if I could place an object in the vertical and/or horizontal

A natural place for these commands could be the Align Objects submenu: Its
current entries regard the selected objects, but we could have a separator and
items saying "With Page Middle", "With Page Center" or "Page Middle", "Page
Center", or something along these lines. This way, the context menu itself will
not be further cluttered by this capability.
