[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138462] Adding bullet/footnote/endnote/page number in Bengali language

Not only on Libreoffice Writer, it's for the whole Libreoffice Suite. For any
type of numbering. Number type is not available for Bengali Language.
For numerals we shlould have: ১, ২, ৩, ...
And for letter numbering we should have: ক, খ, গ, ...
As a selectable option.

And yes, I know there is an option called 'Native Numbering'. But it does not
work for footnotes, endnotes etc.
So we badly need this to be implemented.

To sum up...

Each of the possible messages (depending on the specific "selected area") are:

"
The document contains more columns than supported in the selected format.
Additional columns were not saved.
"
"
The document contains more rows than supported in the selected format.
Additional rows were not saved.
"

The messages themselves are not the real problem.

The problem is that the "selected" area should not really be part of the active
area – or however the actually-relevant area is supposed to be named – to be
(checked for limits in XLS format and) saved.

I guess the problem is in:

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92628

Dear Eugene Mah,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 79657] LibreLogo: Unable to enter commands when toolbar is wrapped

2023-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79657

Dear Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired),

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155074] New: libreoffice with qt5 frontend fcitx5-qt5 in plasma X11

2023-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155074

Bug ID: 155074
Summary: libreoffice with qt5 frontend fcitx5-qt5 in plasma X11
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: iclement...@outlook.com

Description:
In latest openSUSE Tumbleweed(2023/04/24 or maybe some earlier snapshots), I
use plasma desktop on X11. I installed libreoffice 7.5.22 with qt5 frontend(vcl
kf5), and fcitx5 with qt5 frontend support.

But When I type chinese characters in libreoffice programs, the candidate
list(a popup expected to move as the cursor moves and stay very close to the
cursor) does not show in the right position. It follows the cursor, but not
close enought to the cursor.

In other softwares like firefox (with gtk3 interface) and other softwares with
qt5 interface(like konsole, kate), the popup is shown in the right position.

I also tried remove libreoffice-qt5 and install libreoffice-gtk3, then the
popup position is also right.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install libreoffice on a recent release of rolling distribution of linux(
openSUSE Tumbleweed or arch linux for example);
2. Install libreoffice qt5 interface;
3. Install fcitx5 with qt5 support and install some chinese input method(so as
to show the popup while typing);
4. Use plasmashell on X11(maybe this is not necessary to be plasma or X11);
5. open a new libreoffice writer(other components can also reproduce) and type
in chinese.

Actual Results:
popup show in a position that follow the cursor and but not right below the
cursor, but roughly a line under the cursor.u

Expected Results:
popup show in a position that follow the cursor and right below the cursor.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 32700] UI: Make Track Changes Color "by author" adjustable

Alternative palette sample

Attaching a PDF with an alternative palette that:

1. keeps faith with the historical behaviour by having the first author's
comments in close to the same yellow background as was used historically and
having track changes colours that have perceptible similarity to the comments
background;

2. changes the track changes colours so that they are (based on the CIE Lab
colour space) perceptually different, and largely better (and nearly uniformly)
contrasted with white; and

3. increases that palette to 96 entries (from 9 previously)

Hi Roman,
The only context menu item we have for the Draw Navigator at present is
'Rename...'. Currently, multiselections are cleared on right mouse button click
and then the clicked on entry is selected before the context menu is shown.
Other menu items, that I can think of, that may be of use are Cut, Copy, and
Paste. 'Rename...' would be greyed out or not shown when there are
multiselections. Is this what you would expect?

> Hi Hexagon

> Version 7.5 of LibreOffice now makes it easier to reach that Font tab: use
> the Status bar's language menu, click "more".

That's an inaccurate description. "More" just goes to the same place as
[CTRL]+[1] for the selected cells. If the latest-used tab was "Font", then you
get to "Font", but if the latest was, say, "Number", then that's the tab you
see.

IOW, right-clicking on the status bar "Language", then navigating to "more" is
just the same as [CTRL]+[1]. And the same as cell's right-click > Format Cells.

[OT] And we lost the possibility to get to the general Language Options
directly from the status bar, instead of adding a clear submenu item within
that same status bar "language" right-click menu, among several alternative
solutions. [/OT].

I can reproduce the freeze after following the steps to create the 3D chart in:

Version: 7.4.6.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 5b1f5509c2decdade7fda905e3e1429a67acd63d
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US

LO eventually gave up and crashed.

In 6.0, it struggles for a while but eventually recovers, and saving is snappy.
I would call that some kind of regression, but will test further later.

The example document with theme is a Writer document rather than a Draw
document. Even so, the Theme colors palette is blank as seen in the attachment.

The only references to theme in the Writer Guide and Draw Guide are to themes
in the Gallery, not to the Theme colors palette.

Looks like this was done by design on Ubuntu's side:

Others seem to have the same frustration:

Closing as "not our bug". Something to discuss on Ubuntu's side, but I see you

Hi Hexagon

Version 7.5 of LibreOffice now makes it easier to reach that Font tab: use the

to the Languages section of the Options menu.

Can you please test version 7.5 and report back?

2023-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155073

Bug ID: 155073
Summary: Calc doesn't save pivot table compact layout to ODS
file format
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.6.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: 79045_79...@mail.ru

Description:
Calc doesn't save pivot table compact layout to ODS file format.

After https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/151057 Calc supports pivot table
compact layout mode in XLSX files.
If you open XLSX file that already contains that pivot table compact layout
then it works as expected and it works after resave the file to XLSX format.
But if you will try to save the XLSX file with pivot table compact layout to
ODS format, then after reloading the pivot table compact layout is disappeared.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open in Calc (please use latest daily build for it) XLSX file with pivot
table compact layout
2. Save it to ODS format
3. Reload the document

Actual Results:
the pivot table compact layout is disappeared after saving to ODS

Expected Results:
the pivot table compact layout is still here and works as should after saving
to ODS

Thanks Timur, sounds sensible.
Same in OOo 3.3 and:

Currently, error descriptions are in the status bar.
It is true that it would be helpful to have more information available, closer
to where the issue is. A tooltip gives more space to expand on the issue.

This has already been requested in bug 79397, so marking as a duplicate.
But please do add your screenshot as an attachment there, for more inspiration.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 155016] New feature: set the source/scope of AutoComplete search

2023-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155016

Thank you guys for the prompt reply!

As Heiko already pointed out Validity is for a different workflow.

While the argument about the plenty of options is true and agreeable, the other
one about all the other spreadsheet tools is way weaker. A feature shouldn't be
considered on the base that some other software has it or not, but solely on
the base whether if it makes sense and if it is feasible or not.

<> :))) (actively trying not to offend anyone)

As about the repeating/reused data: I wrote the 4 member option list as a
logical expansion of my original need. Maybe I overshot the target a little
bit. Sorry!

So if I want to present my strict needs, that's about getting AutoComplete
results from the same column but different worksheet, so the two options would
be: "Current column of current sheet (default)"/"Current column of all sheets"

Btw in the past I had several times the need to use the other two options as
well, but I can't precisely recall those cases, so let's skip that for now. :)

Thank you for taking the time to think about my idea, maybe it takes root in
one-form-or-another.

The empty Theme colors palette is expected as it is only populated when the
document uses a theme. See the documentation page:
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.6/en-US/text/shared/01/05210200.html
An example document with a theme: attachment 185462

However, you are right that the Document colors palette does not populate as
expected in Draw.

I can already see the issue back in 6.0:

The attached s/s was initially created on LO 7.5.2.2 and it had 100% CPU

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/gitweb?p=core.git;a=log;h=9c7d3ce813c761b116232bc291e2737c59d383da

When opening this s/s, note that the top rows are partially blank[1]; this
happened after trying to create a chart, and saving the file:
- select columns A to F
- Insert Chart
- Clicked 3D
CPU running at 100% for a while. Just about any action I tried resulted in 100%
CPU with Calc unresponsive until it returned from spinning its wheels. Even
Save takes a while at 100%.

visible, the blank area disappears; then re-appears when column A is visible.

It's only 642 rows and there's no lack of horsepower in my system:

This can be done already in Writer when the navigator is in headings content
