[Bug 158864] Many/most dark mode UI elements have too strong a contrast
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158864 --- Comment #12 from V Stuart Foote --- Reality is that LibreOffice is not and will never use native Windows API WinRT/UWP. Just not going to happen. So ongoing limitations in mapping os/DE themes, e.g. Win10/11 dark mode, will continue. Bug 152534 is a legitimate issue, though clearly NOB. Claims of excessive contrast are noise. [Bug 158816] Dependence on ~/Documents
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158816 --- Comment #16 from gra...@harris.net.nz --- When I look at content.xml inside the 'master' spreadsheet I see repeated references to the subsidiary spreadsheets (without any path information). I never find any references to the word Documents (as in my $HOME/Documents/) nor to the word projects (as in my $HOME/projects/killigray/energy/insolation/ which is where all the files actually are). So I presume m.a.riosv is correct in saying that LibreOffice stores relative paths; which in this case is evaluated and saved as 'nothing' since they are in the same directory. Therefore, something in the LibreOffice code is referring directly to $HOME/Documents as a default location to look in, ahead of the master spreadsheet's current directory. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

I don't know what path LibreOffice actually saves, all I can say is that is expects (on opening) these files to be in my $HOME/Documents/ whereas they only ever exist in my $HOME/projects/killigray/energy/insolation/ (where the spreadsheet that gets data from them lives also). If it were correctly saving the relative path, then it would not generate these errors on opening the spreadsheet because, relative to the spreadsheet being opened, these subsidiary spreadsheets are actually in the same directory. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 158816] Dependence on ~/Documents
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158816 --- Comment #13 from gra...@harris.net.nz --- Further to this report: If I use the Edit; Links to External Files and use the Modify button, I can select the same named file in the current directory BUT clicking Insert (closing the Modify dialog) take me back to the Links to External Files dialog, which still shows the full path as being my $HOME/Documents/ rather than the actual directory. If I close the Links to External Files dialog and reopen it that linked file is now shown as being in the correct location, but the other files are still shown as being in my $HOME/Documents/. If I now save the file, restart LOCalc and open the spreadsheet again, I STILL get the error on opening, from the file where I previously selected that file in my data directory- the error says it is in my $HOME/Documents/ along with the others I did not change. And going back to the Links to External Files dialog, this file is still shown there as being in my $HOME/Documents/ So I really do not believe this bug report should be closed without a fix. It does not address how the errors arose, so the bug is not fixed. Also, the method proposed in the advice gives a nice route to breaking the spreadsheet concerned. In the dialog where I am advised to remove the links, there is no clue where the links are in the spreadsheet and therefore, what I should expect them to do. Only by trial and error, will the user find out whether the calculation involving the links is now broken. Perhaps the cell reference is in the Element column of that dialog box? There is nothing in that column for me, is that evidence that there is somehow a link to the file but not to anything in the file? https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158938 Bug ID: 158938 Summary: Writer loses page break character (0x0C) when utf-8 file is saved. Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.6.4.1 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mxav1...@gmail.com Hi there, It seems page break is lost when saving as UTF-8 file in both possible situations:- 1. Page break is already in existing file (open as encoding UTF-8) text file. 2. When inserting a page break from menu using Alt-I and selecting page break (or CTRL+ENTER). Before saving it shows page break properly as it should. However after saving the file (again as text but choosing encoding of UTF-8) or even via save as. It appears that page breaks are converted to CR LF pair of 0x0D and 0x0A when it is saved. It is reproducible at will. Just create a blank document, type test1, insert page break from the insert menu or using CTRL+Enter , type in next line test2 and enter another page break. After saving this file as text with encoding of UTF-8, and reopening will no longer have page breaks; instead it will display additional blank lines. It looks like this matches with BUG ID: 116573, 130238, 155722 though in my case it is not an RTF file but UTF-8 text file mixed with multilingual sentences from two three languages. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

I tried converting it to .docx via ilovepdf.com and then adobe.com, but LO, FreeOffice, and even Google Docs would not open the .docx. Then I opened the .pdf in Okular (no problem doing so) and did a text export. This opens fine in geany, but not in LO. So I truncated it to the manageable first 500kb to work on it. I stripped all formatting and converted everything to Default Paragraph Style and saved as .odt, at 520KB. Usually that's enough to solve performance problems, but this one is still a bear to work on. What happens is the cpu will go to 9-11% and hang there. That's doesn't sound bad, but what I think is happening is Writer is only working with one core, and that core is maxed out. The behavior is the same as if the cpu is maxed. LO freezes, usually alone, but sometimes Dolphin file manager will freeze too. Calc has a setting to enable multicore processing, but it does not help this Writer problem I'm on 7.6.4.1 on Linux. I also used to have this problem in my Windows days years ago. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open large file with a lot of ad hoc formatting 2. 3. Actual Results: File may or may not open. If it does open, Writer will freeze up doing simple things like scrolling down. Expected Results: File should open and be workable. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: ... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

There will be no 7.5.10 release.. Quote from bug 158797 comment 2 There is a fix for bug 155266 but, unfortunately, the fix will not be available until the LibreOffice 7.6.5 release. Fortunately, a tester has found a workaround for LibreOffice 7.5.9 and 7.6.4: switch to Skia/Metal rendering. To enable Skia/Metal rendering, do the following steps: 1. Open the Options dialog by selecting the LibreOffice > Preferences menu 2. Select LibreOffice > View in the left panel 3. In the right panel, check the "Use Skia for all rendering" and uncheck "Force Skia software rendering" checkboxes as shown in the following screen snapshot: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=191409 4. Press the "OK" button and restart if prompted If that does not work, another workaround is to install LibreOffice 7.5.8 or 7.6.3. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 155266 *** -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 158935] New: Firebird: Decimal numbers add one decimal place, if input are integer values.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158935 Bug ID: 158935 Summary: Firebird: Decimal numbers add one decimal place, if input are integer values. Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.6.4.1 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Base Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rob...@familiegrosskopf.de Created attachment 191658 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=191658=edit Open the database file and execute SELECT * FROM "tbl_One" in Tools → SQL Open the attached database. Go to Tools → SQL. Start SELECT * FROM "tbl_One" and let show the output. It will show for fields with 2 decimal places values like 1.000, 2.000, 10.000, 20.000 It will show the right decimal places for 1.10, 2.10, 10.10, 20.10 Screenshot will show the behavior also. Query in the database file will show how many decimal places have been defined. If you connect a subform with a form and use a numeric field with decimal places the connection wont work. When refreshing the subform all data input will disappear, because the connection will look, for example, for 2 decimal places while there appear 3 places as entry in the subform. SO this behavior with wrong decimal places isn't only "cosmetical". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 158934] New: Password removed from Writer file on its own
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158934 Bug ID: 158934 Summary: Password removed from Writer file on its own Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.6.2.1 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: conni...@pacbell.net Description: I was concerned to discover that one of my Writer files that is password protected opened today without requiring me to enter its password. I am 100% certain I didn’t remove it manually. I’m wondering if it was auto-recovered and if that triggered this? Is this a bug or has anyone else experienced this? I have a Dell desktop running Windows 10. When I posted this on the LibreOffice forum I was told that auto-recovery should not remove a password. I have been using software for decades (and have worked in IT) and know that I would have had to do Save As to be able to remove the password. I typically save my file as I work with Ctrl-S. I can't see how I could have accidentally removed the password. I live alone so nobody else could have done this. Based on my backups, I can see that the last password protected file was on 12/6. The 12/27 version had the password removed (sharing in case you made any updates during this time). I hope that it was somehow a user error though I can't see how I could have done this. I want to ensure that the file in question is for my eyes only. Sharing in case anyone else reports this same behavior. Thanks. Actual Results: I'm not sure how you can do this. Expected Results: I would expect password to remain until a user selects Save As and unticks the Save with password link.
