[Bug 161326] Frames Jump if Page Style is Changed
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161326 Mike Kaganski changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #6 from Mike Kaganski --- (In reply to Jens-D Doll from comment #5) > a) > If a frame is anchored to a page, it should stay on that page. It exactly stays on *that* page. Just you don't understand what "that" page means, in Writer which is text flow based. The "anchor to page" means "anchor to Nth page in the document", where N is the current page's order. Then, no matter where the *text* has moved, the object that you anchored to 5th page will stay forever on 5th page. This is what is *meant* by "anchor to page", not what you imagine, so it's a matter of learning, not a bug. > > b) > A frame should always be resizable by mouse actions. This is off-topic in this issue, which is about (not a bug) fact that you misuse anchoring to page (which is what many users do incorrectly, because that anchoring mode is an advanced one - and which is why we even removed that mode from the prominent places in the UI). *If* you have reproducible steps how to create a situation when some frames aren't resizable, please *create a new bug* for that. Closing NOTABUG again. Please do not reopen - this will not change the facts stated here. Thank you. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 157580] Allow notebookbar and groupedbarcompact groups sections to be shown/hidden based on available space instead of only their order
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157580 Jeff Fortin Tam changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Ever confirmed|0 |1 Resolution|WONTFIX |--- --- Comment #13 from Jeff Fortin Tam --- > We do have a priority for the sections, > but the styles preview was always attributed to be important. The "important" section priority attribute doesn't work in practice if the important-flagged section ends up not being shown visually, no? >> I don't understand how you can essentially conclude that my proposal is >> taking anything essential away from anyone... > > You proposed to change the overflow procedure and to first hide the styles > preview. > Actually, translating into algorithm, to start with the largest section. _When_ the window width is calculated to be insufficient for that widget. It still does not take anything away if you do it by measuring available space; it's not "crippling" the widget if it already isn't showing its contents anyway… In principle, my proposed change _adds_ functionality, especially on your WXGA target, by filling that visually empty space with either a compact version of the styles widget, or other things that can fit, instead of just showing nothing on ⅓ of the width. Can't something like the logic below be achieved even with the current toolkit tech? On window width set: 1. gtk_widget_get_width (or some equivalent) for each shown widget section container placed before (left side) of the styles preview widget, sum them up 2. Get the width of the permanent ("Home" and "Find") widgets on the right 3. Substract 1 and 2 from the window width number to get the "available space" number 4. Get the width of the styles preview widget, to determine if it would fit within the "available space" number (i.e. fit between the left and right stuff previously measured) 5. If space is insufficient, either show a compact version, or order* it later in the toolbar so that other more compact widgets (ex: the "Table" and "Zoom" sections) can fill that space by being shown before the styles preview widget (which would still be available in the offscreen expander widget _just like it currently does in practice anyway_) *: If "reordering" is somehow technically impossible, I presume there's another trick: duplicate that widget's section in the UI file, and hide()/show() the first or second instance of it based on the context? If possible, this would make it a better "adaptable" user experience out of the box. Even for higher-res screens, it would improve compatibility with split-screen tiling. Yes, in theory tech-savy/geeky users like me can turn off that section entirely, but the reason why I'm reopening this for consideration is that I care about the out-of-the-box UX for your less technical users :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Bug 161333] Cell Border Padding not saved on XLS files

Any VBA that works in MS Office, but fails in LibreOffice, is an interoperability bug. Sometimes there might appear a reason to not fix some specific cases of these bugs (but they don't cease to be bugs nonetheless, just may be closed as WONTFIX) - but this is even not that corner case. Just a normal bug. We only have PrintOut defined for several VBA object model objects: https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/search?project=core&full=printout&path=vba%2Fexcel VBA defines it for much larger set of objects: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/search/?terms=Excel%20PrintOut Workbook is one of these objects, that misses the method in out code. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/vba/api/excel.workbook.printout Note that we need separate bugs for different methods. [Bug 135166] FILEOPEN RTF: A part is marked as deleted change and should be so
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135166 --- Comment #8 from QA Administrators --- Dear Telesto, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! [Bug 161331] New: XInteractionRequest.getRequest crashes in XInteractionHandler callback in Python
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161331 Bug ID: 161331 Summary: XInteractionRequest.getRequest crashes in XInteractionHandler callback in Python Product: LibreOffice Version: 24.2.3.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: sdk Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ritobrot...@gmail.com Description: When accessing the request object of the XInteractionRequest parameter in an XInteractionHandler from Python, the Python interpreter crashes with the error: "Fatal Python error: a function returned a result with an error set". The function works normally when called from Java however. This bug was encountered while working on porting the PasswordContainer tests from Java to Python (https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/165038). A shorter sample is attached to the bug report as well, and can be run with `./instdir/program/python sample.py` via LibreOffice's internal python. I attempted to debug the problem with gdb, but due to my very limited knowledge of Python UNO bindings, identifying the exact cause was challenging. A shot-in-the-dark guess would be that since the result value MasterPasswordRequest is an exception type, returned through an Any object, the marshalling code that converts this value from C++ to Python might be causing the issue. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Using the LibreOffice internal python, run the attached sample.py script. Actual Results: The python interpreter crashes with "Fatal Python error: a function returned a result with an error set" Expected Results: Not crash, and return a valid MasterPasswordRequest object. Viewing a PDF file in different programs gives the following results: - LO Draw, Firefox and Okular display the area after the problematic symbol shifted to the left. - Chromium does not display the area after the problematic symbol The problem does not reproduce with "Vertical (bottom to top)" orientation. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Writer 2. Insert table 3. Right-click on a cell and set the "Table Properties... -> Text Flow -> Text orientation" parameter to "Vertical (top to bottom)" 4. Enter text with a special character into a cell (tested with №) 5. Enter text behind the table or in another cell that contains the same special character 6. Export document to PDF (via File -> Export As... -> Export Directly as PDF) 7. Open in a PDF viewer (for example, LO Draw if a non-hybrid PDF was used) Actual Results: Text after the special character is shifted to the left or missing (in some PDF viewers) Expected Results: The text after the special character is displayed without offsets Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Most tests were performed on version 7.6.6: Version: 7.6.6.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 60(Build:3) CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 6.6; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3_kde5 Locale: ru-RU (ru_RU.UTF-8); UI: ru-RU Calc: CL threaded The problem was noticed on version 7.6.5.2. This bug is also reproduced on the daily build 24.8. There is no problem in version 7.2. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161327 Bug ID: 161327 Summary: LibreOffice does not handle dr3d:end-angle values correctly Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All URL: https://docs.oasis-open.org/office/OpenDocument/v1.3/o s/part3-schema/OpenDocument-v1.3-os-part3-schema.html# __RefHeading__1419582_253892949 OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de CC: michael.st...@allotropia.de Start a new Draw document. Draw a diagonal line. Convert the line to 3D Rotation Object (from context menu). Select scene if not already selected and open the "3D Effects" dialog (from context menu). Enter the scene. The rotation object should be selected, otherwise select it. Set line style to "solid". In "3D Effects" dialog set field "Rotation Angle" to 180°. Exit scene. Save document, e.g. to .fodg. Open the saved file in an editor. Search for the attribute "dr3d:end-angle". It has the value 1800. That is wrong. ODF specifies, that the angle has datatype angle (18.3.1). Open specification there. https://docs.oasis-open.org/office/OpenDocument/v1.3/os/part3-schema/OpenDocument-v1.3-os-part3-schema.html#__RefHeading__1416540_253892949 You read there: An angle, as defined in §4.1 of [SVG], is a double value that may be followed immediately by one of the following angle unit identifiers: deg (degrees), grad (gradiants) or rad (radians). If no unit identifier is specified, the value is assumed to be in degrees. As LibreOffice does not write a unit, the value should be 180, not 1800. Now we try reading that value. In editor set instead of the "1800" any of "180deg", "200grad" or "3.14159265359rad". Open the so changed document. In any case you get a rotation object with 360°. That is, LibreOffice cannot interpret a unit identifier and uses the default 360° instead. I think, the solution can be done in two steps. 1. Make LibreOffice able to interpret an angle unit identifier for the dr3d:end-angle. 2. When writing to ODF 1.4, write "180deg" instead of "1800". I think, we should keep interpreting a unit-less value in documents of ODF 1.3 and earlier as being 1/10 degree for to be backward-compatible with older documents.
