[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 36449] UI Forward and Back buttons a la web browsers and IDEs
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36449 Heiko Tietze changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |WORKSFORME --- Comment #12 from Heiko Tietze --- Enhancement requests without a use case make not much sense. What is the forward/backward function good for? Who uses it in what situation? Anyway, in comment 8 it's pointed out that the feature exists, at least in Writer. If your use case is to jump from one position in the document to another where position means header, page number, objects, or bookmarks for just text, you can use the Navigator. All together it's a WFM (apart from the missing interest over years). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

IDEs have the feature, The Mac Finder has the feature, etc. > > Writer should have the feature. So what are the buttons supposed to do? (In reply to Dave Yost from comment #6) > I entered some text, moved the caret to different places then made edits at > each place. The <- -> buttons remained disabled. They should have taken me > to each of the different places within the buffer where I had done some work. Sounds like an interesting tool. Especially if it somehow integrated with some versioning and highlighting, so when you navigated to an edit, you'd somehow have a visual representation of the edit diff. Not that I'm trying to take over your enhancement request! :-) Status -> NEW UX will want to weigh-in here, so tossing it to them. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 36449] UI Forward and Back buttons a la web browsers and IDEs
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36449 --- Comment #8 from NickStone --- Forward/Back browser style buttons are implemented in writer but not in Calc. They are designed to allow you to follow hyperlinks and then navigate "Back" to the starting point, ie, the location of the first hyperlink that was clicked. My spreadhseets contain many hyperlinks that typically navigate to other worksheets within the spreadsheet. A "Back" button is absolutely essential from my point of view; I cannot migrate to Calc until is has been implemented. I would be enormously grateful if this enhancement was given a high priority. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
