Not sure which patch took care of this, but I can no longer reproduce this bug
in current versions (4.2.x). So, I will mark it as fixed!

As a follow-up to my last post, the crash I was running into appears to have
been bug 72293, which made this bug untestable under 4.2.0.1.

Is this bug still valid / reproducible with the latest pre-release 4.2.0.1:
http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

Should this be still reproducible for you with the latest LO release please set
this bug back to UNCONFIRMED. Should this issue be solved set it to WORKSFORME.

Setting to NEEDINFO until more detail is provided.

Also NoRepro:4.2.0.1:OSX

Another screenshot of bug in 4.1.4 under 64 bit vista

Are you guys sure you're disabling compositing? Like I mentioned above, to see
the bug you must not have any fancy desktop effects enabled (dialogs that fade
in/out, etc...). I believe these effects force the screen to redraw, so you
won't see the bug.

I'm not sure how to turn these effects off under Windows 8, but under all other
versions of Windows, the instructions are above. For Linux, you can disable
the effects under various desktop environment through their settings.

Screenshot of crash from trying to emulate same behavior under 4.2.0
pre-release

Also, attempting to delete a row from the same example spreadsheet under the
same environment using LO 4.2.0.1 causes LO to crash...

I'm setting this bug back to New, since I can easily reproduce it under
various environments. I just confirmed this bug using another computer running
up-to-date Archbang Linux (Arch linux using Openbox WM).

I can also confirm on yet another machine (Fedora 17, running LO 4201) that
attempting this same behavior (right clicking on row header-delete without
selecting the row first) in the example spreadsheet now causes a CRASH, the
same way it did under Windows Vista.

Of course, that crash under 4.2.0.1 now happens regardless of whether desktop
effects are enabled or not, so I guess it's a new bug.

I tried again this morning on a 32-bit Windows Vista system running LibreOffice
4.1.0.6 and was able to reproduce it, so I don't think it is limited. As I
mentioned earlier, advanced desktop animation present in modern desktops will
keep you from seeing this bug. In Vista, I had to disable the eye candy to
experience this bug.

I did this by going to
Control Panel
System
Advanced system settings
Advanced tab
Performance Settings
Adjust for best performance
OK

I was also able to experience this in 32bit Windows 7 in VirtualBox, running LO
4.1.2.3 after making the same settings to adjust for best performance.

As I mentioned earlier, it doesn't happen every time, but I can cause it to
happen if I scroll randomly, clicking around a few places. Also, I've found
that it seems to happen more often if I right click on the row header without
highlighting it first.

Not reproducible with LO 4.0.6.2 (Win7 32bit). Perhaps it's only happen in
specific system.
