Win 8.1, LO 4.3.0.3 cannot confirm. Text is showing correctly.

1. Is this bug still valid / reproducible with the latest LO release?
4.3RC4: http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

2. Please also try resetting your user profile and let us know if that helps:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

Should this be still reproducible for you with the latest LO release please set
this bug back to UNCONFIRMED. Should this issue be solved set it to WORKSFORME.

Setting to NEEDINFO until more detail is provided.

Hi Richard,

Could you please go to Tools-Options...-LibreOffice-Accessibility, and make
sure you don't have 'Use automatic font color for screen display' checked?

Yes, that was the problem. After un-checking the 'Use automatic font
color for screen display' option, font colors for text are now
displaying on the screen.

I am not sure if that setting is the default or I selected it for some
reason.

Many thanks for following thru with this. It must have taken a lot of
time and trouble on your part to resolve my issue and I am grateful.

Another test - sorry I just can't confirm this one:
 https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

Also you mind attaching a document that shows the black text when you've
changed the color on it (and thus it prints correctly?)

I just discovered that the font color does not appear on the screen but appears
correctly when printed. Bug or by design?

Strange behavior since the text background icon color change does appear on
screen as well as on the printed page.

@Richard - what is the background color of the page? I know of a bug with high
contract (black) backgrounds in LibreOffice + font color

Joel, thanks for your comments.
I do click on the icon to select a color and the icon changes to the selected
color.

I used the term 'paintbrush' and should have said that the cursor is an image
of a paint can pouring paint which I drag across the text.

I repeated this test this morning with the same result.
Although this same procedure works in Calc, it does not work for me with
Writer.
Again I am using Vista x64 but that should not make any difference.

If you just click on the icon the default color is black so this won't change
anything. You have to do the little arrow next to the font color to drop down
and select a different color than the default.

I just tested on:
Windows 8.1 Windows 7
LibreOffice 4.2.5.2

Both worked fine.

Oh - and the paintbrush cursor is not the right icon to select, you have to
select the one with the a and a color under it (there are three in a row with
colors, hovor over the button and it reads Font Color. Paintbrush is an
entirely different tool

Closing as WORKSFORME

Further questions should be directed to ask site or user list unless you are
doing the following steps:

1. Highlight word
2. Do font color drop down (the arrow to the right of the square button on the
icon that says Font Color when you hover over it)
3. Select a color

If you do these steps and you aren't seeing a change - open as UNCONFIRMED
again and I'll try to find an additional tester. Thanks
