Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Test file for Conditional Formatting.
Hi Miguel, Thanks a lot for your nice work. I have got a review and push it to: http://vm12.documentfoundation.org/manage/case/122/ Please take a review and make sure I didn't misunderstand anything. Actually it took me some time to play and understand :) As you may notice the instructions and expected results have been modified in Moztrap. The basic thing I did is to extract those *background* and *reasoning* sentences, which are actually *great* for people who wants to thoroughly understand it, out of the instructions. The reason is we are better off trying to instruct people, even those without conditional formatting knowledge, to run the test case STEP by STEP. So more intuitive and relatively direct test case could be more effective for QA to run. The way I prefer is to instruct people 'click' things, then observe the correct behavior as high level as possible, which in this case changing cell background color is pretty specific. And that's all. Only when a people found something wrong or curious enough, she is free to find the logic behind from your lovely detailed descriptions. :) Please tell me how do you think about them. Thanks for your great work! The case is really wonderful! > I have try to register in Moztrap, but by now I have not received the > confirmation email. Sigh, it looks the postfix failed to verify a self signed certificate there...I'll take a look and don't bother with the mail, I've activate your account and you are free to edit cases yourself :) > And as the Moztrap is in first steps, maybe better not too much hands on it. > So please put the test in Moztrap if it is right. As it is in the first step, there may be some improvements needed. But it is nevertheless a nice central place we put our test cases effort together, the data would not lose any way. And again because it is in the first step, wonderful new test cases like you already did makes it grown:) > Is there some guide on how to structure the name of the test files? > I think could be useful in the future. Currently I wasn't aware any particular reason to restrict the name space of a attached file since every case is bound to a test case in Moztrap, so we never lose the background. Maybe in the future I should make Moztrap to attach a "case id" to the attachments like Bugzilla did. @Petr, all - do you have any experience thoughts on that? Best wishes, Yifan >>> mariosv 09/12/12 9:05 AM >>> Hi Yifan, I have revised the test, among other issues I have added an Instructions sheet. Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Triaging Project Update (10/09/2012)
We all fit in just the same :) At this point we're really in the early stages of getting a team together who is willing and able to commit some time at triaging (and more broadly QA work - but for now just triaging). I am hoping to get all bugs >30 days UNCONFIRMED taken care of by the end of the year. We had some solid progress in the last 4-5 weeks but it's slowed down and that's not good. If you can, please go to this link, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApS-XtOUGGH5dDIwaXN1YnNsM0h4RXFKdVhvb2RRb0E#gid=1 and assign yourself one of the tabs. Also please add your name to the contact list so we can finally get a real team together that's regularly triaging. In the long run (once we're caught up) we can start looking into assigning new bugs to triage based on the list of contacts. I think 10-15 people are needed if we're going to keep up with the amount of bug reports, right now we have probably that number but only 4-6 are really active. Thanks for offering, this is one of the areas where we really need help. Feel free to add me on gchat and/or email me if you have any questions/concerns/suggestions. [Libreoffice-qa] LO 3.7 enhancements
Hello I'm writing this message as a reaction to comment from Mikeyy on Bug 54157 - LibreOffice 3.7 most annoying bugs. He asked for Bug 36815 - Advanced printing capabilities of comments in Writer [PRINTING]. As it's often said, MAB is no place for discussions and no place to ask for enhancements. Now in MAB 3.7 theres is very nice instruction saying "For details, criteria and further instructions, please see http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Most_Annoying_Bugs";. But, I'm myself interested in new features in LO. There is a page http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Vote_for_Enhancement. Bug 36815 is there, as well as Bug 34355 - Use margins to track changes and some others. There is even http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Enterprises_nice-to-have but I think is redundant. I think that old OpenOffice voting system was nice and simple. So, a question for QA: Do these pages influence some decisions? Are they still relevant? There should be some explanation.
