That's the problem -- the "unsub digest" part is currently _not_ a link. As I pointed out in my previous mail, putting the following in the footer: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=cmd:unsubscribe%20digest should work correctly for the majority of MUAs that grok links in message text. That leaves a (hopefully) minority of folks who'll type: cmd:unsubscribe%20digest into their Subject: lines. -- Adrian Ho [EMAIL PROTECTED] ** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://libretto.basiclink.com/archive - Archives http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/portable/faq.html - FAQ ---UNSUBSCRIBE--- mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=cmd:unsubscribe UNSUBSCRIBE DIGEST-- Use above but add DIGEST to the subject line... **

100CT & MS Autoroute

RE: Libretto HDs >8GB section - Added to FAQ, Please Review!
Date: Sun, 25 Feb 2001 18:33:54 +0100 From: "Steven Lagerweij" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: RE: Libretto HDs >8GB section - Added to FAQ, Please Review! Hi, Just to report about my experience putting in a 15GB HD: I installed a 15GB hitachi on a libretto 100, no problems at all. I chose NOT to use the hibernation feature for several reasons. So I can't report on that part. For the rest I had no problems whatsoever installing win98SE and using the 15 GB harddisk. In addition to the standard win98se installation I only needed to install the display drivers and a driver for my PCMCIA network card. Since I have no floppy, I attached the HD to my desktop computer with a adapter cable. Fdisked it, and formatted the C partition with /s and made it active. I copied the win98 directory from the windows CD on it, and the toshiba drivers. Put it back in the libretto and ran the setup. Everything is running perfectly. O, the previous harddisk in the Libretto 100CT was 2,1GB made by Toshiba... Date: Fri, 23 Feb 2001 13:17:16 -0800 (PST) From: David Chien <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Libretto HDs >8GB section - Added to FAQ, Please Review! Hi! There has been much talk about whether Librettos correctly support HDs >8GB and whether we need to worry about the location of the hibernation partition. I can say for the L20-70 models, you'll most likely need to use a disk manager/drive overlay program like EZ-Drive or IBM Disk Manager to see and access the entire >8GB HD space. For the L110 and higher models, the BIOS should correctly see the entire >8GB HD. For the L100 model, hopefully with the latest BIOS revision, it should see the entire >8GB HD. These statements generally reflect the few postings I've archived regarding the >8GB HD issue. As for the hibernation partition, for the L110 and newer models, don't worry. For the L20-70 models, it appears that if you use the drive overlay programs, the Libretto will put the hiberation at the end of the full HD space; without such programs, it will put it at the end of 8.4GB. This has not been extensively tested, so if you can test to see exactly where the Libretto is putting the hibernation partition for your Libretto with >8.4GB HD, let us know the details of how you know. In general, these statements reflect the correct operation of BIOS's which do and do not correctly support >8.4GB HDs. Please visit my site below, click the FAQ link at the top, and read the section regarding the >8.4GB HD issue. If there are any comments, corrections, and actual real-world results, please let me and the other members know by posting to this group. Off topic: My adventure of migrating hp database to palm.
Date: Sun, 25 Feb 2001 23:09:22 +0800 From: "Raymond Tan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Off topic: My adventure of migrating hp database to palm. I am reporting my little adventure of migrating the hp200lx database to palm; for anybody who may be interested, if not do not waste your time reading this message, apology. I have been using the lib50 until I sold it away last year but I am still on the list (evesdropping?) Case history: Owns a hp200lx and uses the database application that has an extention *.gdb. For me, this database is more than a PIM and I have a few hundred records (mainly my clients' particulars and their very confidential financial information; no price for guessing my occupation.) For each record, I have created more than 80 fields, some radio buttons, text fields etc... Limitations: Copied my client.gdb to the harddisk and used MS Excel to import it. Informations appear together with garbage in random. How do I proceed from there? HP support wasn't helpfull at all. After bouncing a few mails thru' and fro with them, I decided to try my luck here. And here is where it takes off. Finally: Followed Casey's link to www.palmtop.net/super.html Thanks to Casey, found one freeware named "OL2LXinst.exe", downloaded and unzipped it. Also thanks to E. Smith and Yeshiah. With this, I can supposingly migrate the data to outlook. But the challenge come when I have so many fields to map into outlook contact's limited PIM field. (How now?) Solution: In the OL2LX windows, check "pause to allow manual editing of text data", then click on convert data. The default text viewer for your computer will open now. Close it, and then choose cancel. A new client.txt is now created in the directory C:\OL2LX Now I use MS Excel to open this "client.txt". You will need to "parse" it as the data are all in one column. Parsing the file will split the "string of data" in column "A" of the spreadsheet to many columns; ie "A", "B", "C", and so on Now I have 80 over columns and a few hundrew rows of data (column denotes the fields and rows denotes the records of the original database.) The next step is to join some of the columns into one column by using the Excel function. ("&") Repeated this joining until I am finally satisfied with the rearranging and save the client.txt Now I am ready to import the data to Outlook. In the Outlook Contact folder, I did the importing and mapping of the fields which is straight forward from the importing wizard. Yes, all the data now appears in Contact, and I am thus able to sync them to the Palm. That it, hope this will benefit someone, someday. ** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://libretto.basiclink.com/archive - Archives http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/portable/faq.html - FAQ ---UNSUBSCRIBE--- mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=cmd:unsubscribe UNSUBSCRIBE DIGEST-- Use above but add DIGEST to the subject line... **
