I want to install linux on my Libretto 110CT
  I have some question:

  1/ which distribution is best

Mandrake 7.2 works extremely well for me

2/ driver for the 800*480 monitor

I can send you the XF86Config file which runs in 800x480.

2 bis/ selection external internal monitor

It's an option in the above config file. Can run int/ext/both.

3/ USB port? can we use it?

Sorry, no idea. USB in Linux works properly with kernel 2.4, so would
 probably work with Mandrake 8.0

  4/ pcmcia interface, same question?

 Yes. No problems.

  thanx

Why don't you guys start emailing back and forth directly instead of using
the Libretto mailing list for personal emails? I personally only want to
get info about librettos... not wives and money issues etc etc

thanks

(a) because most of 'us guys' have been here for many years, consider each
other friends, and are aware that most communication happens more easily
with a certain amount of banter.

(b) because without the banter, the 'Libretto Beer Club' would never have
been founded.

(c) please also note that you do not see the much larger quantity of
personal email (which I at least) receive from other members on subjects of
mutual interest not directly related to Libretti.

(d) responses on this list are not issued by robots, but people. Does the
word 'community' mean anything?

Cheers,

Neil

p.s. you are most welcome to join the beer club. If you happen to be in the
same city as me (I get around a lot) or one of the other members, you buy me
a beer, I buy you a beer. Easy.

And for what its worth, (should have put this in my last e-mail)
as a new member, I have already gotten a lot of help Re: my 110CT
and the odd bit of fun and exchange of comments just adds that little
bit extra to the list, I for one think its one of the better ones

I enjoy picking my mail up every day to see whats new in the world of
the Lib, and what other libretto owners are up to

Nuff said, flame away

When I get my replacement Keyboard for my 110CT

(Spilled wine saga)

I am contemplating putting Linux on the Beast, I know there are lots of
sites on the Web
about this but just wondering as a new list member if anyone
can relate their experiences of running linux on your libretto

also whilst I have got your attention, has anyone in the UK got on
of the ff1100's, are they still available (even if only Japan)

110 Keyboad cont

Subject: 110 Keyboad cont

Thanks for all the suggestions on what to do with my wine spoiled
keyboard on my 110, I have tried all to no avail so I am left with
the problem of a new keyboard, I have found one supplier in the UK
but the price is 60 (me thinks a little steep), anyone know of any
other sources of these keyboards, even in NA, I work for a North
American Company so could get one brought back if I could find a
source

110 Keyboard prob

2001-01-25 Thread Ade McGonigle

Date: Thu, 25 Jan 2001 22:22:27 -
From: "Ade McGonigle" [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: 110 Keyboard prob

Help

My darling wife spilled wine on my 110CT, the Libretto seems ok, from what I
can tell
but the keyboard is toast, only half the keys work (presume its now clogged
up with
sticky gungy wine) is there anyway to rescue the keyboard or fix it, or as a
last resort
where can I get a replacement in the UK, I managed to get the keyboard off
the machine
and there was only a little bit of liquid on the metal plate below, but none
on the Circuit board
the libretto has since been up and running for days now and working fine
(except no keyboard)

anyway, any help on possibly cleaning the keyboard or getting a replacement
would be
very welcome

Ade
