It's been fun and useful but now I've been forced onto a Portege :-)
Goodbye good luck

Re: IR

Subject: Re: IR

Dave,
I have a 50CT running W95 and Nokia 6150 functioning nicely via IR (despite the
phone occassionally telling me "Accessory not supported"). I had to do some
work on teh registry to get it running but all I did was follow instructions
off a web page. Whilst looking for that web page again I came across quite a
few pages of interest - are these any good to you in your quest for IR
connectivity?

http://www.doom.org/phone-ncds98.html

Also

http://www.ringtone.net/win98.html

also (this one looks good)

http://home.wxs.nl/~deest000/irwork.htm

Some others that could be useful but as I haven't REALLY read them I'll let you
decide

http://www.kessler-design.com/wireless/win98ir.html
http://www.icon.co.za/~sayles/Help.html
http://www.rasco.krakow.pl/GSM/pliki/NDS-IRSetup98.txt
http://user.tninet.se/~ebo706m/mobil_sida/nokia/ir_support.htm
http://freespace.virgin.net/neil.hobbs/Nokia/NCDSIr.htm
http://www.customphones.co.uk/infrared.html
http://www.scit.wlv.ac.uk/~f9679743/Cellular/NokiaDataSuite2.0/nokia_cellular_da
ta_suite_2.htm

FYI I'm no techy Guru, all I did was whack "Infra Red Generic Port" into
Copernic search engine as I remembered that was the ket to getting the 50CT
talking to the 6150, setting up an "Generic IR port" in Windows Cnotrol Panel.
Njoy :-)

Can anyone help with my lid?

Just settling down to a period of stationary "docked" work with my 50CT - is
there any way I can close the lid and keep the machine on? When I close it at
the moment it goes into standby.
I recall it's something in the BIOS but I can't recall how I get at it!?!?!
Also, is there anyone with an electronic version of the user manual, say in
.pdf format?
Thanks

Do you have an old 850 drive collecting dust? Before you throw it out I
might want to pick one up if the price is right.

Yup I've got one. I'm in the UK, where in the world are you? Mail me and maybe
we can come to an arrangement. If you're in the US, I'm going to Florida in
August if that helps:-)
Regards

Libretto 50 irda?

Subject: Libretto 50 irda?

Hi,

I own a Libretto 50 PC and a Nokia 7110 GSM.
Is it possible to make them communicate via irda?
TNX

Miki
You should be able to get them talking.
I'm running a 50 with a Nokia 6150 via IR with no problem.
I have Nokia Data Suite 3.0 and Windows 95
(build 4.00.950a - what version is that)
The fix I used means I can't use any other IR device with the Lib but
as I don't own any other IR devices that doesn't cause me a problem!
There's a bit of regestry work (nothing painful!) and a few
tweaks needed but it works like a dream now.
Running with Lotus Notes and using it throughout the day-
connection speeds are not marvelous but as the Notes server
I'm dialling is steam pwered anyway the bottle nock is not
under my control!!
Will dig out the instructions when back home and advise - try checking
the archives of the list too.

N joy :-))
