Erup? The only thing you should need to do is to double-click on the *.bat
batch file that comes with AMNHLT once under Windows, then reboot and trash the
AMNHLT files you had extraced earlier to install.
The batch file automatically puts a copy of the *.vxd file into the \windows
directory, modifies the registry to load the *.vxd file with windows, and there
should be no additional DOS windows that appear with each load of Windows.

In fact, once you do have AMNHLT loaded, you won't see any indication it has
been loaded short of longer battery life or AMNHLT monitor works (many other
ways for the more technically savy, too...).

I'd say if that's happening, you need to get rid of that extra junk - it's
pointless and may cause harm to the registry later on.

Jim,

You're not going to believe this - but just delete the line with anmhlt (or
whatever) from the autoexec

I got it from Neil's website as I recall. Nothing to learn. It
unzipped
and
installs itself on each boot. I have to close a DOS window each time,

   that is the only hassle.

Um, Jim, you only have to install it once...do you have it in autoexec
or
   something?

YES, YES, YES, I have an autoexec.bat, etc., etc., but the program loads
each
time after boot, windows puts up a DOS window that it says it can't close
automatically and then I get a notice that cooler has modified the registry
successfully. I close both and go on my way, assumed that is the way it
works. I am from Phoenix and am allowed not to know some things? Do you
have
any suggestions Oh Mighty All Knowing and Sedudilus One? ;o{ ) (always

No, I am really not that smart. From the days of the TRS-80 wt.16k of RAM I
have always only learned enough to get the thing to do what I need. All of
the alarm clocks (mechanical ones) and door knob screws satisfied my
curiosity to know all there is know whether I need to or not.

Yes Sir, right away Sir and Thank you Sir!

Reminds me of the meter I had for a year before I realized that the fuzzy
view was caused by a plastic shipping film that I had not removed. I removed
it and everything was clear. Then I scratched it and was upset. Then
something else happened under Fluke three year warranty and it came back with
a new face and new shipping film. This time I did not remove the film and as
a result have never scratched the face and don't even notice the fuzz. Kind
of like an antiglare treatment. If it does come off someday, I will put one
of the Palm Pilot protectors on it.

That story is a long way from what I wanted to say which is: "Thanks"
