Re: Spanish Translation
You only need to - create a messages_es.properties file besides the messages.properties, and - create a LilyPondTool_es.props file containing the messages from the LilyPondTool.props file. - the LilyPondTool_es.props file shouldn't contain anything but localized messages - the localization files shouldn't contain non-ascii (not even latin1-extended) characters. Instead we must use the unicode character code in \u003b format. It can be solved by a simple search&replace or there are tools for this. After doing this, the LilyPondTool_es.props file must be placed into the properties folder of jEdit along with other localization files. Actually jEdit can be localized this way: you just override some properties coming from other places - most plugins can be translated this way as they use this method for localization. For example if you look at Console plugin source, you can translate the messages from Console.props and put your .props file into the properties folder of jEdit. Unfortunately this method sucks but there is no better way. The message_es.properties files follows the normal way: it will be automatically loaded if JEdit/LilyPondTool is run on a machine with es locale set. Bert Francisco Vila wrote: Hello Bertalan, I'd like to translate jEdit + LilyPondTool into Spanish. You told me that there was a translatable resource file. Where is it? Would be possible to include the Spanish localization as standard and make it work automatically in Spanish environments? The same goes for jEdit, I don't know if you could help me on that. This sounds good, I think I will also start this kind of glossary for the German version. Wouldn't it be nice to also have the glossaries at a better place downloadable? I mean: Now we have the word list from english to other languages, which is really usefull, but I don't think it is as complete as the french glossary is. Or let's say we would put it into the LANG-tree of the webpage. Would be also interested about how to do the translation of the tutorial once you are finished with the preparations. Although it will supposedly take some more time than the weppage to translate... No, it didn't get lost, but I was simply too busy to look at them. I am sometimes too busy to answer emails within 2 days. If you have sent a patch on -devel and nobody takes care of it within a few days, just pester me with a private email. The 0001-0004 patches have already been applied, so I applied 0005 and 0006. Congratulations! you have completely updated the Spanish web site, that's much work! Updated spanish translation
Three things: First: I attach the patch for the latest updated spanish translation in bzipped format. Second: There's a typo in site/about/automated-engraving/input-format.html . Where it says: The above is another expression, and therefore, it many combined again with a simultaneous expression (in this case, a half note). Probably should read: The above is another expression, and therefore, it may be combined again with a simultaneous expression (in this case, a half note). Third and last but not least: After reading: site/sponsor/options.html, I am very much impressed and wish for both Han-Wen and Jan, the greatest of successes in their endeavours in Google and Atos, and even if it's a short period of time involved in LilyPond from now on, I'm sure it will still be great. I too am returning to teaching (back from holidays) and school, so my involvement will be less, but I'm still participating in translations and lists.
