[LincolnTalk] Tennis singles / paid play time?

2021-09-18 Thread Leah Bloom
After settling in, I am updating my interest in playing time - as a 3.5
player I am looking for others around my level interested in singles (early
morning best but can be flexible). Also willing to pay a better player for
hitting time (could be good opportunity for a high school or college
player). Thanks!

[LincolnTalk] anyone missing a Husky? description

2021-09-18 Thread debwallace922
I neglected to include a description.

It was light grey mostly around it's torso and a mostly white head. My guess
is that it weighs about 40 pounds and based on its head size and demeanor a
female.

One important takeaway is that we need to remove Trees of Heaven (invasive
plant and the host to the lantern fly) wherever we find them. I can tell
you that Trees of Heaven exist in Lincoln because I just removed a young
one from our property! (Was kind of shocked to find it there ... where did
it come from??)

[LincolnTalk] Anyone missing a Husky?

2021-09-18 Thread debwallace922
There was a Husky on my property about 10 minutes. I'm the end of Cedar Rd,
near the intersection of 126 & 117. It has tags but by the time I got out
he had gone.

He was clearly in need of water, which I have left at the end of my
driveway. I have notified the Lincoln Police also. Please be on the look
out!

[LincolnTalk] Invasive Spotted Lanternfly

2021-09-18 Thread Cmontie
Hi Folks
I read a NYT article about an invasive insect called the Spotted Lanternfly.
It reportedly can do a lot of damage by sucking sap from tender parts of
plants. To learn more, I visited mass.gov which referred me to a fact sheet.
It appears this insect has been found in Concord (so: close by), and it’s
requested that any sitings be reported. There are no known natural predators
and organic pest management is not effective, so being proactive and stopping
an infestation at the start is the way to go.

Here is the fact sheet:
